Liquid Diamonds

Liquid diamonds is the perfect name for this fragrance IMO. A diamond looks clean, cold and sparkly and that just about sums up how this fragrance makes me feel. The image I get is of being surrounded by snow covered mountains with crisp cold air and standing at the shores of a gently flowing river or lake with crystal clear, cold water from the melting snow. This is a cold scent in the sense that it smells refreshing and invigorating. I do get the very expensive shampoo vibe that a lot of people are talking about but what sets it apart from other 'clean' scents is the absence of any citrus notes I think. My nose picks up peonies mainly followed by an almost watery rose and other florals grounded by a clean musk and very subtle patchouli. Longevity is about 5-6 hours with moderate projection. I really enjoy this fragrance, even more so because I got this for an absolute steal!

Liquid Diamonds by Viktor & Rolf smells of crisp peony and soft-spicy roses with the most unique musk, it will trick your nose! This is clean and pure – makes me think of cold spring water! I get a cologne vibe in the opening but it tries down to be very feminine. I love this whole illusion line of fragrances! The art and concepts behind the fragrances were so well done and as a musk fan, Liquid Diamonds was my favorite!

love it and cant wait to wear it in the summer as it smells so fresh like you just got out the shower. I know a lot of people are talking about how it smells like soap but really sometimes that is not bad if you want to smell fresh like a diamond. I must say that just one spray goes a long way so even if its expensive you wont need a lot. My boyfriend loves it so that's a plus. Highly recommend it!

I just have a sample but this is on my wish list and can’t wait to purchase it. It smells like you took a shower in a fancy hotel and are wearing a plush white fluffy robe. Fresh and clean but a super luxurious fresh and clean. Like a relaxation room in a spa. I usually purchase gourmands and sweet scents or fruity florals so this is not my typical go to but I’m in love and I have to have it.

Guys, this smells exactly like its name. If diamonds could be liquid, this is what they would smell like. Beautiful, sophisticated, translucent, fresh, white, sparkling. Overall a beautiful, beautiful scent. It is from Viktor & Rolf's Magic private collection so you can imagine the price, but it is so worth it.

Wow! Floral and musky make for a great combination. I fell in love with this fragrance immediately after I smelled it. Soft musk with peony and rose. Not a strong rose/musk just the right amount. Ylang-ylang, jasmine and patchouli round it off in the background. Beautiful!

Clean and soapy scent. Smells like a rose scented soap.i get some harshness when freshly sprayed but it settles & becomes smoother over time. Great for work spaces as you will just smell clean.

i got a sephora sample years ago and it smelled like b&bw hello beautiful if it was good (without the deoderant smell). i forgot this existed omg it's the perfect classy fresh floral scent.

I was surprised by tandem_4x4's review just below mine. I like this scent, so I want to reveal its secret. I found out that this fragrance contains huge amounts of Cetalox by analysis. I'm surprised that there is really someone there who can feel the fact instinctively. Some people said this one smells like a cheap soap, but actually, it contains the expensive ambergris chemical and a bomb dose of it. Therefore, it is a really expensive fragrance, not like other exaggerated perfumes with marketing hypes and cheap ingredients (e.g, Iso E super. Of course, Iso E super is also a great chemical ingredient, and also used in this fragrance.). and that is probably the reason why this is discontinued. The price that is spent on an item doesn't mean that item is good, nor fit many people, nor your taste, nor guarantee success. The one thing is certain about this fragrance is that they didn't save money but tried to make a true luxury. @coffeefifofum Don't be so sure about your nose. You cannot smell something, but that doesn't mean it is not there, whether you believe it or not.

Liquid Diamonds is likable, but pretty generic. It's a very clean, fresh-feeling floral fragrance that comes off a bit soapy with how clean it is. It's a bit fizzy as well, probably from the pink pepper. To me, this is a feminine, quintessential office scent. You can find this type of scent and DNA in many other fragrances, off the top of my head some of the Chanel Chance flankers have this vibe. Overall, certainly a pleasing scent that people will not find offensive, but you can probably get something similar for a cheaper price. It is generic, whether that's a good or bad thing, is up to your preferences.

It's a fresh soapy, washing detergent type of smell. I loved it when just sprayed: soft floral, a little powdery, generally similar to Clean fragrances, or even Coach (with the black label). But it lasts just as long as any scent from a soap bar would last. It does leave a soft musky trace on the skin for a few hours, however this is not enough for me from a perfume. I won't even bother with another sample. I need to remember to pick a day and kill off the sample I have.

A sparkly clean rose. Youthful, energizing. It may have a similarity to fabric softener or soap. It’s very feminine, or perhaps I should describe it as very girly. I do like it but in small doses, otherwise it may backfire and turn cloying and outdated. Now for the price...I’m not so sure.

I second the very first review here. Smells expensive and clean, but also like cold water in a mineral laden cave. Then the rose becomes more obvious. Feels like a great palette cleanser for perfumistas like me that wear heavier, darker scents.

fresh green and sweet watery floral. smells like shower-off scent. Remind me light version of Chloe's and Pink bottles of Narciso Rodriguez. Watery Rose Centered(Cetylia). It is typical but I like it.

DISCONTINUED FRAGRANCE REVIEW NO.#15 / 10. Do you want to smell like laundry powder, Perfumites? Well, lucky you. Viktor & Rolf have got you covered. Reviewer after reviewer will add their two cents about perfumes that smell "clean", "fresh", "sharp", and "clinical". Dudes and dudettes - THIS is where I come in with my own minute pocket money and say "Liquid Diamonds" is THE MOST laundry powder scent I have EVER come across. Not laundry *liquid*. Oh no. Absolutely laundry *powder*. I get that stinging sharpness that comes from crushed laundry powder granules. It opens light and airy and quite feminine. The peony and rose are obvious, but they do quickly (like 2 minutes) give way to that uber-clinical sharp scent that lingers the entire time. I assume it's due to a pink pepper feeling vengeful. It dries to a nice musk, but nothing to write home about. Longevity is about 2 hours, honestly. Sillage is decent at first, but becomes a scent scent in less than 10 minutes. You have to spray a lot...which is saying something for my little 10ml sample. It reminds me Byredo's "Blanche", but slightly softer and ever-so slightly sweeter, and definitely evokes a furious need to clean my clothes and linen. So, there you have it. In conclusion: expensive laundry powder. Not repurchase-worthy. *** Kitty rating: 4/10.

The opening is gorgeous and sparkling like a diamond - just beautiful! I get a whiff of the same peony that's in Estee Lauder Pleasures, a note I love. But it vanishes pretty quickly, I wish it would stick around. Another reviewer called this a "dude fume"...and while I agree there is a unisex quality to it after the dry down, it does NOT smell "masculine" like a traditional men's cologne, at all. It takes a few minutes to detect the rose, lilac, and jasmine. When they come through, they smell beautiful, especially the lilac. I can pick out the different flowers. Really well made! Usually I have an aversion to rose (headache and sneezing) but not in this case. Also this has patchouli leaf as a base note, which can also give me a headache, but so far I'm fine with this formulation. It takes a while for the musk to kick in. Predominantly a floral fragrance and a classy, grown-up one. After about an hour of wear it is reminding me a bit of Chanel Chance Eau Vive.

This fragrance smells like a young woman after morning gym and shower in a 5 stars hotel. Young, clean, healthy, juicy, successful. It smells very very familiar, but hard to say what exactly it is. I would love to wear it everyday to work, but I am sensitive to ambroxan, and this one contains a bomb doze of it, so much that it bells like 100 aldehydes in it. Projection and longevity are good though.

This just smells like pure soap. All I get from this is an ultra clean smell. It is very sharp. Not what I imagined diamonds smelling like. If you want to smell like you just took a shower then this did last a long time at least.

I enjoy many rose fragrances, but did not care for this. The scent to me is a bit outdated, and there is something harsh and unpleasant to my nose, maybe it's the musk, or the way it mixes with the patchouli.

Place mediocrity and overpriced “notes” into a bottle and you’d have Liquid Diamonds. I don’t like to use words like boring, but that’s the best word describing this scent.

More like liquid dial. Why are the the ones I dont want to try I'm from this line the only ones sold at sephora?

~ I'm so disappointed , this is from a sample kit . I purchased about 6 ~ 8 weeks ago , it has all seven in the " Magic " line . I have tried three , I have the full bottle of dancing roses , I got these to figure out if I want more of the line. I seem to be a bit behind to that party of late , but is okay , I get some great deals , but this , omg it stinks on me ~ All I get is a soapy , a strong soapy mess ~ I don't get any single notes and the dry down is a big failure on me { a bummer to my learning nose } . I have tried Invisible Oud , which I do like a lot , dancing roses { fb } is fair to middling scent on me , nothing special in that the notes might be appealing but does not last on me , and this one , yuck , yuck , yuck ~ Ha , which is a total letdown . I'll try the other ones as to eliminate them from my want list or add , so far only one makes the cut and that is the Invisible Oud . For some strange reason it is a wonderful soft rose and oud on me ~ I don't mean to offend anyone but some scents do not work with my chemistry and since I run extremely warm and a bit hot , very hot some times , these just seem to turn on me ~ Sad , as I really wanted to like them ~ ///=^} ~

This smells like the hand sanitizer in an outdoor wedding port-a-potty. It’s been monogrammed with the bride and groom’s initials and sports a real rosebud with a ribbon bow–but still leaves one desperate to wash the hands properly. Pink florals on top, white musk and miniature bubble wands on the bottom.

I’m surprised that I hate this. Not just dislike. This is not ok. A dude fume all The way, and Generic at that! Not like a Marley dude fume or Creed, or especially TF which are exquisite. No. This is cheap low budget smelling ewyuk.

this whole collection is one of the worst things I've smell in my life...and yet I really try everything. A few mediocre low notes for an even worse result. It's not even good enough to use as a toilet spray

Magic that never ends. I was rebuffed by the first whiff but felt in love immediately at the second. The saleslady nearly forced me to sniff it while my face was puckering at hearing the name of the perfume house. Until that moment I was aware only of their flowerbomb series which I don't appreciate much. Now, the magic. At the beginning I got fresh, clean, icy, soapy smell, exactly what you'll call laundry smell. It so happened that now I'm crossing a rather complicated period of my life. So I'm feeling somewhat tired of my usual scents (my usual rotation consists of Lutens, Roja Dove, Esteban, Penhaligon's, L'Artisan, Lalique etc.) I definitely needed something like this, to "discharge" my olfactory and therefore my brain. Never in my life have I worn a perfume of "fresh" line. But here I am, totally in love. So as I said, at the beginning it was real soap, but a soap to die for. It smells a young lady coming out of shower wearing only a clean white shirt of her boyfriend, with wet hair, pure like a virgin. It smells aseptically clean snow white bed sheets inviting you to roll over them. It smells crystal icy water in a distant mountain brook. And laundry, no joke. And all of those images that cross my mind are very, very sex appealing. The more I wear it, the more this gem makes itself clear. Now I easily distinguish rose, peony, and pink pepper, for instance. In the same time this scent is in no way "floral" in the usual sense of word. On my skin it has no sweetness of jasmine, no seductiveness of ylang-ylang, no darkness neither heaviness of patchouli, well, no sweetness neither creaminess whatsoever. And this is just perfect to me. Love it. It has a soothing effect on my thoughts. Don't get fooled by the pyramid and bear in mind that the name of the collection is Magic. It really is. Silage is moderate, longevity too. And again, for me this is a plus because I can reapply it whenever I want to feel refreshed and like just from the shower. Love!

I got the entire 7 samples box of this line at Nordstrom Rack for $13 so I'm not really surprised there's a dip in quality between this and the Flowerbomb line, but know that if you grab this looking for the next Flowerbomb this isn't it. This smells like a rose soap craft kit. It does get less soapy on the dry down as the ylang ylang comes in, but it stays pretty soapy. If you were inclined you might call it creamy or lactonic instead of soapy and I wouldn't say you're wrong. The base notes are faint. Half an arm's length projection. Fades significantly in an hour. Playing off the reviews below me with information from the boards: There are three formulations used in perfume for the scent known as ambroxan. Cetalox is the brand name of one of them. Juliette has a Gun's Superdose is listed as pure Cetalox. It smells like a chemical weapon to me. This perfume does not smell like Cetalox to me. It smells like soap. I don't know which of the other two formulations of ambroxan is the one that bothers tandem_4x4 but it's probably not Cetalox because this doesn't smell like that. It smells like rose soap.

I received a sample of Liquid Diamonds with a Sephora order. My first impression is citrus. Then the florals kick in. Then specifically the Rose. It becomes very warm, soapy, like dial soap, "liquid dial". Now it's peach skin, fruity and fuzzy warm. Musk and hint of something darker, patchouli, just a touch of mystery. Dry down is wearing soft peach skin musk, a flower pops up every now and then. Then just clean musk. The initial stages were kind of fun, as it transitioned from note to note. I thought how is it like liquid diamonds?, facets and clean, clear synesthesia references. It does sparkle but quickly evaporates down to a clean peachy musk. It's not my favorite, but it's not a fragrance I would have chosen, but as a sample it was fun to try. Something totally inoffensive and classic.

Definitely a classy vibe for that one..peony, rose, with a clean vibe.l.I agree that it is like a soapy rose smell...very feminine, old fashioned, but wearable.it has a green undertone which makes it fresh , and springlike..as it develops it has a dryer sheet kind of a smell, but the nicest kind !! It makes me think of a flower field on a windy warm day....Not what I like to wear, no entheless, pretty creation...I think it would please lovers of clean soapy scents...delicate, charming, soft, nothing wrong with it !! The Magic collection so far is very nicely done!!

Wow! This scent is so familiar - and i realized it reminds me of a rich thick creamy lactonic white bar of soap like CAMAY soap or IVORY soap... mixed in with some white musk. If you like the smell of NIVEA cream, DOVE soap, CAMAY soap, IVORY soap, or a milky white musk (such as TESORI d'ORIENTE WHITE MUSK / MUSCHIO BIANCO), then you will enjoy this scent. Last but not least, this fragrance also reminds me of AT LAST by LOLLIA - it has that similar rice milk lactonic white musk creaminess to it.

Not a fan but this is a crowd pleaser to boot. People love this. Pretty much a generic floral (light jasmine scent) w/ pepper. I normally don't like pepper, but it melts into the florals instead of standing out. Outstanding longevity. Six hours on and it's as strong as it was at first spray. Four feet of projection. I never got the very strong soap scent except within the first 15 minutes, but then, it dissipates.

If there were such things as high-end designer scent boosters for your laundry- this would be the scent. It isn't bad, if you're just wanting to smell very clean and non-offensive. I wouldn't describe this as a scent with a lot of personality, though. It isn't particularly expressive. Overall pleasant, but I would not throw money at a full bottle. I am happy with my travel spray

This smells like high quality laundry detergent. The opening is musk and a sharp rose. It’s extremely synthetic and while I don’t mind that for first hour or so the dry down is all Downy fabric softener. I found the same to be true for salty flower. I assume it’s the DNA of the magic line. While some might not mind this I think it’s kind of outrageous for the price.

With the not-so-subtle musk and peony notes, this opens like a higher quality sister to "Nirvana White" by Elizabeth and James, with the addition of a pretty strong rose. It's "fresh" but not in an aquatic or airy way, it's also not sweet at all, and is quite floral, especially in the beginning. Overall, Liquid Diamonds is a pretty clean, soapy fragrance.

It smells just the way the old Dial bars of soap used to smell in the 70's. Very clean. Like you just took a shower. it's not soft or buttery. It's very crisp, sharp. Like walking into an old Miller's OutPost. Something "Aqua". Makes me think of the high waisted, acid wash jean days. Boggle boy, bongo, union bay... etc...

Nice, transparent,charming clean smell. I didn't get any sparkle, but maybe they don't think of diamonds like I do. Overall a nice, safe, almost white floral fragrance and nowhere near worth the money. Soft projection and 4 hour longevity, maybe it is better in the sun. Get Jo malone English pear and freesia instead.

Peony lovers should like this for there is a fresh, clean, clear peony(and rose) note in the heart. However, the rest of it is just another perfume, one that smells very much like so many others. Like most V&R's this is too strong and too sweet.

Does anyone know if this perfume is inspired by or have anything to do with Tori Amos? She has a song called Liquid Diamonds and I know she has ties to Viktor & Rolf. Just curious if there was a connection. I feel like there has to be!

I love this perfume! I know it is supposed to be unisex but this one is absolutely not and for this reason I would wear it. Honestly the dry down smelled very similar to Flowerbomb just slightly different. It is very pretty.

I have a full bottle of Liquid Diamonds sprayed twice that I would like to swap for Salty Flower. Let me know if you are interested. I would sell as well. :) This is a beautiful fragrance, I just really love Salty Flower.

I got a small sample of this to try. To me, IMO this is too old lady. It reminds me somewhat of the older Victoria’s Secret perfumes (divine? heavenly? maybe). Smells like straight soap. Not for me, I gave it away.

Peony-scented soap. Nothing wrong with that, necessarily--it is very wearable. I was just expecting something more glamorous.

Can someone please confirm if this indeed similar to like CLEAN FRESH LAUNDRY?

Basically the soap you'd find in a public bathroom at a high end hotel.
