Spicebomb Eau Fraiche

I honestly didn't even realise this was a new version of Spicebomb, I just thought it was a limited edition bottle or something. So I was excited to try it...then I kept forgetting to check it out and finally the otherday I remembered and made it a sampling priority. You know what? I'm really glad I did because Spicebomb eau fraishe is a really nice twist on the existing theme. I thought when I looked at the notes here we were dealing with a curious 'sport' type, anomalous fragrance which retained nothing of the original and might as well be a new scent in it's own right, as a flanker. However the Spicebomb accord is here, it just takes a moment to develop after lovely icy smooth citrus top notes. A stuning warm underbelly of sweet spices, tobacco, pink pepper, cinnamon and the like but on this calmer more subdued air of aquatics, vetiver and citrus. The modern tendency is to make fragrances 'extreme' or 'intense' I think V&R would have their work cut out doing that with Spicebomb. I'll be honest as much as I love the original after a few hours I find it sweet, cloying and a bit invasive but this fresh approach is precisely what it needs to calm everything down to a wearable hum. Good projection, longevity and all in all a good release.

Wonderful smelling flanker that's perfect for very hot days (if you want positive attention), and summer nights (if you want to increase your swag appeal). SBF could easily be worn in at office, and casual setting as well, since it's potency has been dialed down a bit. Just go easy on the trigger, as SBF will blossom when your body temperature increases creating a wonderful lspice+fresh fragrance. :-) Performance and longevity are surprisingly top notch too! Whereas, most people will easily yield 8-12 hours of consistent performance. If you're someone that likes owning every flanker of a particular series...hurry up and buy SBF if you don't own it. However, if you're already satisfied with the SBF's predecessors....don't waste your money buying SBF --- as it will likely feel like a redundant purchase. Overall: 8.5/10

This a very lovely frag. a toned down version of its big brother the original SB. Still a beast to my nose though, makes me wonder how strong the orignal spice bomb really is. I use the original strictly in winter. it has the power to cut through the cold like a chain saw and reach far far far away. SB Fraiche, a lit lightened up has the same effect but with more versatility. Spring and fall is were it shines. the scent itself is very sexy. it turns u into a complement magnet, especially from the ladies.. I wouldn't call this a summer fragrance, especially in humid areas. it is right on the limit before "cloying". I live in a very humid area and ı couldnt use it for 3 months. I have my eyes set on the next 2 in the line SB night vision and SB extreme :)

For me....OG is too syrupy sweet, extreme too gourmand, 1899 hemingway too "pretty"/unisex, rehab is great but too expensive. This is the one to get. Though the price is getting closer to rehab, so not a great buy anymore unless you find it at a normal price. Rehab is creamier, more complex, and more expensive smelling, though just as synthetic. SB Fraiche is more citrusy, maintaining the DNA of all the above listed frags but keeping it out of the syrupy drydown of OG, while maintaining its designer/mainstream appeal when hemingway doesn't. My wife likes this one better than hemingway as well. Hemingway is still very good and likable, but it's too artsy for me. Hard to explain, but i hope whoever is reading this gets what I mean!

I'm wearing this right now as my SOTD. I have the original, and the extreme, both of which I consider cold weather scents. Spicebomb Fresh opens with a slight aquatic note. It quickly dries down to what I would call Spicebomb Lite. Weaker than the original and with less projection. I'm at work, and this is light enough to not offend any co-workers. Original Spicebomb is too strong for work in my opinion. So, if you really love Spicebomb and want a quieter version for the warm weather, this might work for you. The scent isn't really reminiscent of a summer freshy, but the strength kind of makes it that.

Amazing for summer and warmer weathers. It has a sharp, zingy freshness that cuts through the heat much other spicy scents do but the spice is masked with a subtle citrus and sweet smell, making it great for the seasons. I've been wearing niche and designer smells all summer, and I must say was easily one of the favourites (I was sampling Creed, Roja, MFK, DG, PDM, etc). I find myself reaching for this more than others because its so easy to wear, smells good and inoffensive. I hated the original spicebomb but I really enjoy this. Definitely worth trying.

If you like the spicebomb line this is a great addition to rock a spicebomb in the warmer weathe. At first it smells very similar but I spare her spicebomb on one hand and fresh on the other. I stankt you realize how unwearable spicebomb is in the summer and how fresh the fresh is but still keeping that great dna. Ice to have a summer freshie that doesn’t have those garbage acquatix notes or overdone citruses. We’ll screen done viktor and rolf!!!

This is simply Spicebomb for warmer weather, nothing to overthink. If you love the original, then this is a no brainer. Viktor&Rolf only tinkered with it making it fresh. Smells exactly the same otherwise. I totally love Spicebomb, so for me this was an easy purchase. Longevity: 8+ hours easily Projection: first 3hrs a strong push. Afterwards anyone within 1-2 metres will smell you. Sillage: start to finish. Solid performer. 10/10

The opening is really peppery - sharp but fresh thanks to grapefruit. Once it settles the lavender and tobacco with oakmoss joins. It's not typical fresh scent, nothing aquatic but still feels refreshing and masculine at the same time. Definitely good for spring or summer when you want to smell different than most people wearing aquatics. It's mature, it's spicy, it's sexy. To me 9/10, great job here.

This scent is an underrated masterpiece! To me, the original Spicebomb is great but it comes off too strong and in the hot climate here it gets cloying. Eau fraiche is exactly what i wished the original was like. The same beautiful blend of spices with a citrus openining and a fresh feel. It's much more wearable all year round with the same versatility of the original, i just love it! 9/10

I got this as a gift from my brother recently and I have to say it's amazing. I owned the original but because I live in a hot country now, it suits me alot better. Not as strong as the original and is well suited to the heat. I wear it on nights out and I get a compliment almost every single time. Ladies love it. Projection - 8/10 Longevity - 8/10 Scent - 9/10

This is a unique and different Warner weather scent People love it and it may be my most complemented fragrance It’s u Kane and if you like spicebomb you have to try it. Oh also it definitely has the spicebomb dna but when u compare the two side by side you can see why both are needed in your collection

Way ,Way, Way back of this scent lives the original. But it does not smell exactly the same. i Prefer this over the original. I know how could i say that? Easily and very often i would. I'm not a huge cinnamon in your face fan. But this is right up my ally. Definite compliment getter. And the freshness is very nice.Still sweet. But not annoyingly sweet.

It is true that there is a "certain something" about this one! The most unique in the Spicebomb lineup is simple and slightly fresh with pepper and tobacco really giving it an expensive feel. I would not expect this scent to come from a Spicebomb grenade. Not for the heat, but beautiful days.

no projection, weak, doesn't last long...the scent doesnt stand out. In the dry down it reminds me of Versace Eros, but a very weaker version. Update: I was SOOO wrong. This is a beast in the summer day. Strong af and last a long time. i wore it wrong the first time. my apologizes guys.

If you like the original, this one smells almost the same but a little lighter and fresher version, a good alternative for those who thinks the original was a little to much, it's not a summer fragrance in any way it still is quite spicy, but great for spring and chilly days.

Lighter, fresher version of the original. Smells excellent and has good projection and on my skin, above average performance (7-8 hours). Shame it's discontinued. Would love to get my hands on another bottle so if anyone is willing to part with one let me know!

Surprising received a free sample of this, immediately proceeded to buy a bottle it's that good. I have SB Extreme and it about made me sick. But this, this is very nice. One of the best smells I have smelled for warmer weather, perhaps for all seasons.

I blind buy this Masterpiece for About $60 90ml.. And I love IT, there is something pungent like ginger and sour in the mid and Drydown. Better on clothes. Btw. I thought it was discontinued. Fortunately, it is still available at discount stores.

One of my favourites if not my favourite fragrance from this line but, the only bummer is that the longevity is lacking. All in all an incredible summer fragrance, though make sure you keep a decant with you

Really does make Spicebomb wearable in the warmer seasons. The spiciness is there throughout, but its lightened by the grapefruit. Excellent scent cloud. good longevity. Truly enjoy this one.

They should have never discontinued this one! You can still find it on eBay, but expect to pay almost 2x regular price. Amazing scent, and I see similarities of Ani X on my skin.

THE BEST OF ALL THE FLANKERS! Any season! Any time! Unfortunately the performance is horrible on my skin. I just reapply throughout the day. Women love this stuff.

Poor projection in hot weather , but it's much much better in moderate or cold weather.It does a good job at night.

Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Fresh Men EDT opens with a moderate projection of citrus, spicy, and salty notes. The opening is aromatic, sharp, well balanced, and very pleasant. The grapefruit creates a citrus note closer to the bergamot than the grapefruit itself, the elemi supports the citrus note with a fresh, spicy, piney, resinous, soft citrus touch. The sea salt is just a soft touch, noticeable but nothing too strong. The sharpness and intensity of the opening are short-lived, the citrus note dissipates almost entirely leaving the pink pepper and pepper behind with a touch of lavender and the elemi. As the fragrance moves to its dry-down, the tobacco and amber come up, both with a soft note that also serves as a projecting accord. By now, the initial freshness of the grapefruit is gone. The amber adds a mild sweet touch. After the immense success of the original version from 2012, the company decided to launch this Eau Fraiche version (fresh water) in 2014. It's always nice to pay attention in these fresh versions (Fresh, Fraiche, Fraicheur) because they provide better results than the summer versions, going to fragrances that are more volatile, evaporate faster and, often, to lose in concentration. And there is a variable that should always be remembered: these fragrances are created abroad, that's why we can't think only in the Brazilian summer, for instance. Coming back to the point, these "fresh" versions tend to keep the dna of the original versions, extracting one or another poignant note and, consequently, adding one or another cooler note, which can be fruity, citrusy or even marine. Generally, they use the citric. In this creation, the concept was maintained in every aspect. It is very easy to identify the presence of the original fragrance. However, it is like if it was covered by a thin sheet of citrus nuances. The composition was as follows: grapefruit, pink pepper and red pepper, in the output; sea salt and lavender, in the heart; tobacco and elemi resin, in the base. If we pay attention, were not added notes of lemon or orange in the output. But the grapefruit is less fruity, more citric and the output becomes, literally, more burnt. The sea salt also contributes to this impression. But the same tobacco from the original version is there, resting at the bottom, along with the nuances of elemi, which were voluptuous before, at the output of the original version, and now they're holding hands with the tobacco. When people ask me if it's worth having both versions, I say yes. The construction is different, as well as the result on the skin, although both are similar. Well, when a flanker is released worldwide, as an extension of a line, but there's no innovation whatsoever, I criticize (this happens a lot with annual summer versions). But when a successful fragrance gets lighter or more intense versions, what is expected is to feel that the dna was respected, only varying intensities and notes. At least, that's what I think! It may seem the same, but it's not. Here, for example, the difference is that the original behaves better in the cold or in nighttime events and, if applied in excess, can bother. On the other hand, this version can be worn daily, even on the hottest days, ensuring the olfactory signature of those who, until then, had chosen the original as such. In addition, this one has lower projection, although possessing very good durability on the skin. Finally, the bottle kept the same concept, now with almost transparent glass and a silver band with inscriptions in black, as well as in the box. In the original version is the opposite: a black band with silver letters. My only criticism is due to the lack of an inscription "Eau Fraiche" on the label.

This one's been on my radar for the last year or so and I decided to finally go ahead and add it to my collection. This to me has a very refreshing yet peppery toned opening. I've always been drawn to Fresh spicy scents and I really think V and R nailed it here. At the dry down your left with a unique sweet like base that's also slightly musky with a hint of smokey salt. Very unique and easy to wear throughout all seasons but best suited to autumn days and cool spring/summer evenings. I think the performance of this is pretty good for a fresh scent. It lingers up off the skin and really comes out with vasodilation. I smell a possible discontinue with this one though. Not many places are stocking it at the moment so decided to get in now just in case. I reckon nightvision could be replacing this...however, I've noticed a redesign with the bottle, it's now an icey window like bottle rather than the white out one before, so maybe this is in the process of being reformulated? Who knows. Love it though 8.5/10

This is extremely nice. It opens like normal Spicebomb but a little fresher, with noticeable lemon through the pink pepper. That smells pleasant enough in itself, but then it surprised me on the drydown by turning into more of a sporty fragrance. I can't really explain the distinctive smell I'm referring to, but the closest I can compare it with is Allure Homme Sport. But personally I find that rather false and chemically, something I didn't get with Spicebomb Fresh. It's well blended and much more natural than many "fresh" fragrances out there. It doesn't project nearly as much as standard Spicebomb, but seems to last for quite a while. I'm a big fan of this, and if it weren't for the season, this may have been in place of standard Spicebomb as my last fragrance purchase of 2016. Respect to Viktor&Rolf, they make damn good smellies 9/10

This smells more 'manly' to me than the original Spicebomb. Perhaps it's the amber? This is spicy, and not 'cozy, sweet spicy' like Spicebomb was – instead it's spicy like Dot by Marc Jacobs or Verde by Nest. This is a spicy that wakes you up instead of comforting you. This smells more 'typical' and not as unique and original as Spicebomb. By adding the “Eau Fraiche” scents to Spicebomb, Viktor & Rolf have succeeded in making this just like any other men's perfume. Unoriginal and common. This does succeed in turning what was an autumn/winter scent (Spicebomb) into an all-year scent (Spicebomb Eau Fraiche). Also, it is a long-lasting scent. This will last you the whole day, or night, if you wear it. That is appealing. It's great getting little whiffs of this all day as you are going about your normal routine.

Ok, so let me begin by saying I was one of the first people to buy Spicebomb when it came out here in the states, and again, from what I can gather, I'm also one of the first to get the new version here in the USA. It helps having friends on the other side of the pond. ;-). This is definitely Spicebomb, but toned down for summer use...I'm not sure what it's missing, but the aspects that make the original cloying and sickly sweet in the heat are absent and replaced with the seawater accord making it lighter and more refreshing. I get good longevity on this one upwards of 6 hours and the silage is also decent. It's a nice change of pace from the original, but still retains enough of the original's character, no one will mistake this for something else.

I'm never sure I like Spicebomb. I try it from time to time; and some occasions it smells better on me than others. (Never understand why). I tried Eau Fraiche today and I am altogether more enthused. With Spicebomb on my right hand and Eau Fraiche on the left, I've been sniffing both the past five hours. Yes, they are similar. Yes, Eau Fraiche is lighter (and it has been since the beginning); but Eau Fraiche is easily holding its own - even if it stays closer to the skin than Spicebomb. I definitely prefer it. So, finally a Spicebomb which with certainty I'll say I like. Has every chance of being added to my collection at some point.

Imagine the original spicebomb as a skin scent, thats what you get here. it smells really good but tbh id rather just lightly spray the original. SCENT: 8/10 as its more or less the same as original spicebomb LONGEVITY: 5/10 im getting 5hrs max with this PROJECTION: 3/10 very poor on this front, skin scent all the way, you might get a slight whiff from time to time but thats it OVERALL: 5/10 if you really love viktor&rolf & must have everything they produce then get it, if not just get the original & spray lightly, it will be better value for money & a better buy all round

So here I am wearing Spicebomb Eau Fraiche in the Fall. The Fall you say? Why am I not wearing regular Spicebomb or even Spicebomb Extreme in the colder weather? Because the other Spicebombs are too strong for me. I like this fragrance. It has the same DNA as the original, but with fresher top notes. It's also less strong and smells great. It may say 'eau fraiche' and one would think this is a summer fragrance. With the depth at the base of this fragrance, it's more of an all-year round scent. If you like Spicebomb, but you feel it can choke people out, try this out.

A less punchy version of regular Spice Bomb that is well suited to hot weather, but still retains the intrigue of the original. Some might find it more wearable than the standard Spicebomb; it is certainly less attention grabbing, for better or worse. For people looking for a fresh scent that doesn't traipse into aquatic territory, this one is great. I prefer the original Spicebomb over the fresh version, but like so many of my favorite fragrances, the original just isn't wearable when it's hot as hell out. In situations like that, Spicebomb Fresh really shines.

Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Eau fraiche is what the name suggests to be: a fresher version of the original Spicebomb. I tried it right away and I soon liked it. The smell is really similar (that is why I liked it) but it is lighter. In the initial blast I can smell the cinnamon present in the original but more on a citrusy way. After a couple of hours you can smell the spicy notes also present in the original. This is really good for the summer time. But I will probably wait a couple of mouths before buying this one. The bottle looks really nice BTW.

I'm wearing Spicebomb Eau Fraiche as the weather gets cooler...and I like it. I owned a bottle of the original Spicebomb and while I think the original is a decent scent, I find it a bit overwhelming. I'm not into hugh sillage/projection fragrances, and Spicebomb original was a bit too much for me. I like this one better and plan on wearing it in the Fall/Winter. It has fresh top notes, but dries down beautifully with the typical Spicebomb tobacco base. If you wants a lighter version of Spicebomb with less spice, wear this.
