Body Paint

One of the best offerings from the house, Corticchiato knows how to mix crowd-pleasing while maintaining a unique narrative. Body Paint is adeptly named, this perfume acts as a second-skin, enveloping the wearer in a solid colour of synthetics, it even smells paint-like at time. Opening with lemon, peppers and juicy pear, it doesn't take long for the refreshing top notes to disperse and to make way for the cloves and wood - I feel, at this point, that the perfume takes on an almost Caronnade-like presence, rooted in a twist of antiquity. I wish the opening lasted a little longer because it is a beautiful hydrating tonic that would work exquisitely in the hotter months. The cloves and lemon hang around a little bit at the end of the fragrance's life but the dry down is rooted in the peppery woods of Iso-E Super, it's not novel, but if someone loves the molecule and wants a little more depth than anything from the Escentric series then this perfume is for them.

I haven't tried on my skin, but I will someday when I manage to get a decant! Super invigorating for me! 🔥 The spice is there but it's not like smelling hot sauce off a pizza. To me it has an interesting nutty spiciness, like dukkah if you're familiar with it. I agree with a comment here that it does also smell a bit like paint, but like acrylic paint more than strong nauseating wall paint. There's a drink in the Philippines called gulaman. Body Paint has a particular sweetness that reminds me of it, like a cold & refreshing kind of sugary juice. I thought I have my collection of scents I'm gonna wear for life all set but after smelling this dang I guess i better start saving up for a full bottle of this then. Lol I also just finished Horizon Forbidden West. Somehow to me this smells like the game's title screen. it's the experience i got when I first smelled it haha the drums before you hit New Game or Continue

Personalmente lo amo, anche se riconosco che non è una fragranza per tutti. A primo impatto ricorda l'odore di una bomboletta spray, di vernice, pungente come gli odori un po' chimici degli smalti (conferito dalla pera e dal peperone). Una volta asciugato subentrano le note speziate del chiodo di garofano e della noce moscata che rendono il profumo più portabile, ma mai banale dato che la pera rimane una costante, nonostante a detta di molti rimanga solo per poco tempo. Sul fondo il cedro che lo rende ancora più avvolgente. Profumo estremamente fresco, inebriante e con un'ottima durata.

I am absolutely in love with this fragnance since the moment I tried it for the first time. It’s weird, funky but so me... starts off as fresh tomatoes from the garden and goes to nice spicyness later. My absolute love my signature scent...❤️❤️❤️

I really like this fragrance for all the reasons that several of you don't: the alcoholic pear vapour; the pepper; the chemical/paint vibe; the weirdness of it. I wear this for my own pleasure, and as a warning to others.

DENTAL OFFICE IN THE BEST WAY, DAMN. that's how i knew if i were to look this up, for sure i'd see cloves, and there u go! it's actually really cold even though it's spicy and quite wearable.

Lovely scent. The feminine side of unisex. If you've been looking for a good clove scent that doesn't hit like a hand grenade, this is it. It mixes with the pepper notes wonderfully.

Got a tester of this. After spraying, the scent strongly reminds me of pencil shavings! My mom agreed too. This perfume reminds me so much of grade school, the smell of pencils straight out of the pencil case, that scent that lingers on my bag, mixed the scent of old books. Or the scent of charcoal on my notebooks. Despite the nostalgia, I didn’t like it at first. I thought it smelled too uncommon and hard to pull off. But then gave it a try when I went to the gym (being a guy that doesn’t want talking to other people in the gym, thinking this could repel them). This is what I smelled throughout my workout. And to my surprise, when I got home, I started liking it. The dry down becomes softer and much more inviting than the initial spray. Planning to purchase 20 or 50ml of this. This is definitely something I won’t be wearing regularly. Just on days I want to smell unique.

The scent feels very molecular - it opens with blast of hexyl acetate (aroma of juicy pear with undertones of organic solvent) and green, bitter compounds which together might give the impression of paint, but I think people make this association due to the marketing and echo chamber. Later, the clove aroma starts to dominate, but most importantly, everything is build around Iso E Super (or rather one of its more detectable variants, e.g. Timbersilk). Whole fragrance could belong to Escentric Molecules line and be named Molecule 01 + Cloves or something. Longevity and projection is sufficient. I like it, but it's a rather simple scent, not up to par with Marc-Antoine Corticchiato creations for Parfum d'Empire.

One of the strangest fragrances I have ever smelled in my entire life. Really, truly something worth experiencing but wearing it would require a certain level of bravery and/ or eccentricity. Sweet, bracing, aromatic and warm... weirdly familiar yet totally foreign. Notes of old paint tins and dried sugared pear, toffee coated capsicum salad and butterscotch wrappers... I don’t know.

I like it! For reference, Poets of Berlin and Dear Polly are my faves from the house, but this is a close third! Spicy dry down, fresh and peppery opening, pretty good silliage/longevity. I can see how the pepper might not be everyone’s fave. It’s a warm pepper though! Definitely worth a sample!

Starts peppery , then dirty musk creeps in. Only then the bitter oakmoss (with hint of nutmeg and cedar) makes a grand entrance. Unique, entertaining. Definitely not for a blind buy. I enjoyed it, too bad my skin ‘eats’ it up way too quickly

The opening for me is biting into overly ripe pear and smelling nail polish remover at the same time. Spicy and cool. Very very interesting, not a blind buy. Something I would wear with a leather jacket probably.

Maybe I am confused about what green pepper smells like, but this opens fully Pear and Lemon for me. Sweet, bright, and lovely. As it dries down you do get the hints of clove warming it up

This is a work of art. The way the notes are used to mimic the piercing scent of paint is genius. I'd say the most forward notes in this are green pepper and the unmistakeable smell of cloves. How on earth it has the same texture, and piercing-ness as the volatile compounds you smell when you open a tube of oil paint, whilst still being a wearable fragrance amazes me. It's very green and warm spiced, with a woody base, and though I can't explicitly smell the pear, there is something buried in the back sweetening this. This is a very fresh scent, that seems like it would be best worn with a fresh pressed suit, or to an indie painter convention, nothing in between.

This is if a pepper salad smoked a clove cigarette. Not my jam, but I imagine that the person who enjoys this would also enjoy Santal Blush (Tom Ford) and some of the greener, woodier Imaginary Author Scents like Cape Heartache and Yesterday Haze. Fully unisex with a zingy opening that dries down into something more mountain fresh and well-blended. 5.5/10

I blindly bought a sample because the notes looked interesting and it was a new house for me. I won't be doing that again. It was sharp and vaguely synthetic/chemical on first sniff, I couldn't really pick out any one note. On my skin after about 5 minutes it was still sharp and kind of unpleasant. After 20 minutes it smelled of chili pepper and urine and I had to wash (nay, scrub) it off because I was feeling nauseous. This scent is very offensive to my nose, and since I didn't have it on very long I can't speak on longevity or performance but it does lean masculine to me.

First blast of sharp dusty greens, herbaceous, sweet licorice. It's rather medicinal and woody while it stays on that sharp opening. It's unpleasant but in a weird way.. It's not offensive but I wouldn't want to smell like this. Has that retro old man Aqua Velva aftershave feeling. After a minute, the intensity does dial back a little and what I get is one note clove now. The scent isn't all that off-putting.. I guess it's just not my style. Masculine and best for cold weather.

I rarely say I "dislike" a fragrance. There's always a situation where I can imagine the use. I can say with 100% certainty that I dislike this fragrance. And, I can say it's 100% because of the green pepper. It hits you and there's no denying it's there! I don't understand why anyone would want to smell like a raw, underripe green bell pepper. Ugh.

My body had a pretty strong reaction to this one. I was gifted a little sample bottle. In the morning I took a shower and sprayed this on my wrist before work. A soon as I took a sniff I literally wanted to vomit and almost passed out. I had to jump back into the shower and scrub twice to get rid of the odor. I had to phone in sick at work because the nausea was just debilitating and I didn’t dare to leave the house. It then took around 7 hours for it to go away. Mind you, I am someone who has no sensitivity to fragrances and I can handle weird smells pretty well. I also don’t get grossed out easily and my stomach is really strong. So to me it was a shock how badly my body reacted to this. Never before and never again. I had more samples from this house which I ended up gifting to my flatmate because I legit got terror they were all going to make me ill. In 33 years this is the first time I smell something so vile it makes me angry 😡
