Dirty Velvet

A trendy-smelling sandalwood and fig fragrance that is remarkably true to the notes listed (I can smell all of them). Initially it reminded me of Santal 33 and then I realized what it actually smells like is a future Le Labo called Figuier 26. Yes, if Le Labo released a fig fragrance, this is what it would smell like. Not bad at all but like Le Labo, way overpriced for what it is. Or maybe because it smells so youthful, it seems absurd at this price point. Either way, I ended up selling my bottle on ebay.

superb stuff. classy fig scent with nice salty notes and a creamy sandalwood base. Definitely comparable to Le Labo the noir and Santal 33. Almost a mixture of the two together but that salt adds something a little more than it being a clone of those two. and I've had a huge amount of compliments on this. Great sillage and longevity, highly recommended.

Another tobacco-centric fragrance in my collection of favorites. Both my husband and I enjoy using this. It transports me to a very specific time and place. I love this fragrance’s specificity.

This is a better version of FIG MAN by Carner Barcelona. Very impressed, longevity is amazing. For me it is kinda mix 80%/20% of FIG MAN and Virgin Water by Creed

آغاز ای نَرم و ادویه ای که حس و حال علوفه ای،آجیلی و کاه مانند ای از اِلِمی رو نمایش میده وجه ادویه ای چیزی شبیه به زعفران،جوز و فلفل است که با یک آکورد چوبی_علفی ترکیب شده اَنجیر ای دریافت نکردم ضمن این که نُت های اعلامی در سایت خودِ عطر با فرگرنتیکا کاملا متفاوت هست اما در نهایت چیزی که دریافت میشه ترکیبی از هر دو است شیرینی رِندانه ای داخل اش کار شده اما ابدا طعم میوه ای نداره و بیشتر چوبی_صَمغی هست در این بین؛وایب چرمی لطیف ای حضور داره که با یک عود مُدرن و صیقلی به مشام می رسه.تصور عودی براتون ایجاد نشه چون از عود مرسوم کاملا فاصله داره و بولد نیست نیمچه حس انیمالیک ای هم لا به لای روایح جولان میده که نه خیلی قوی هست و نه ماندگار غلبه ی فضای چند وجهی لابدانوم بر تمامی عناصر عطر کاملا مشهوده؛نُت ای که چند آکورد رو در قلب خودش داره و به تنهایی یک لشکره.حالت ای نرم و خامه ای از صندل،وجه رزینی و صمغی،کمی اینسنسی،چوبی و ... داره هرچی به انتها نزدیک میشه عطر ساده میشه و شیرینی اش هم بیشتر میشه به غایت آشنا جلوه می کنه اما نمی تونم به چیزی شبیه بدونم اش ******************* scent:7.5/10 longevity:8/10 sillage:6.5/10 purchase value:2.5/10 ******* overall:6/10

A controversial fragrance There is a disturbance in the different versions that people get Which isn’t very good for the reputation of the scent Odd enough I get nothing from fragranticas notes pyramid It’s smoky with a little vetiver almost no tobacco It’s a strange one that on initial spray I loved it but I couldn’t enjoy it since even in the beginning of the scent it was disappearing and surfacing again every now and then and this actually annoyed me since this usually happens at the end of a scent life Longevity was incredible but projection was poor

Very dirty and velvety indeed. Nice voluminous tobacco scent, leaning masculine in my opinion. Not detecting any of the citrus or fig notes. It is deep and woody, like an antique furniture. Classic and rich, business partner making impression. Doesn't change much from beginning till end, great longevity and silage. It may be a good base scent for layering, I'll try to mix it with something sweet... maybe fig, plum or cherry. Think it could mix wel with scents, where dominant iris or orchid.

Sweet tobacco, leather, spice is what I pick up from Dirty Velvet, I can see some saying it leans masculine, but in my opinion, the sweetness of it places it firmly unisex. I like how this smells, but after the dry down, it was very weak and did not last long. I even had my daughter to smell me to make sure I had not gone noseblind, but she couldn’t smell it either. Such a shame, I would happily wear this if it lasted longer.

Starts off like a spicy salt kiss, dries down into your grandfather’s leather armchair. Wear with confidence or don’t wear at all.

The notes need to be updated. To me it is a smokey tobacco scent with som vetiver and oud. Nice but not to my liking. I would rather see it on an old gentleman than myself.

Its a decent woodsy, smokey, tobacco fragrance. I get no fig at all. It leans masculine on my skin, too masculine for me. But I love smelling this on my husband.

So the notes on here are definitely outdated. The actual notes are bergamot + elemi (top), leather + labdanum (middle) and patchouli + papyrus (base). I was surprised vetiver was no longer on the uodated note list because this did open very barnyard-y on me. Not in a manure way, but like fresh hay. I definitely got a good bit of leather upfront as well which is what prompted me to check the website to see if the notes were different and lo and behold. After about 20 minutes, the patchouli takes over but the leather is still there in the background. It is a very dry, woody scent. Like old dusty furniture. It’s honestly not bad, just a little too masculine for my tastes and strong wood scents really irritate my nose.

This woody tobacco smell reminds me of a cigar box or an old theater. As a general rule, I don't really like tobacco scents though and that's the main note I'm smelling. I don't detect any fig. I got a test sample so I'm not too upset about it, but this is not it for me.

This has been reformulated. The fig has been removed. Now it’s quite a generic Smokey tobacco scent. The new notes are on the website TOP : BERGAMOT, ELEMI MIDDLE : WHITE LEATHER, LABDANUM BASE : PATCHOULI FRACTION, PAPYRUS

Very flirty bimbo fig scents. (I kind of regret buying it.) Sweet, not cloying, not unpleasant, but still too much. Long-lasting in a synthetic, annoying way. It's like something victoria's secret would produce.

Fragrantica, please update the notes here, it changed. All I get from this is the leather, I don’t really like leather scents. No fig. It’s very masculine. It’s not sweet enough for me. Pass.

Leather, tobacco, fig with vetiver. To my opinion, it is a masculine scent. A pirate in a bottle. Not for me, I cannot wear it.

When this was reformulated it turned me into one of those freaks who emails perfumers begging for them to check if they had even one original bottle left in the warehouse somewhere... I'd have bankrupted myself to buy it in bulk. The original formulation is my white whale of a perfume - a perfect Mediterranean summer scent, sap-soaked, heady, and delicious. The tobacco and sandalwood gave it an earthy, rooted quality, but the salt, the freshness of the vetiver and the sweet-sour of pomelo and fig gave it a verve that kept it light, playful and robust - such a delicately balanced formula. I've never been so complimented on a perfume - when I owned this I was constantly praised for smelling incredible - I think part of it is that magic of finding a perfume that is so perfect for your personality. The reformulation is tragic - patchouli and leather suffocate it, lending a much heavier, smokier quality, and the bergamot is no match for the original, unusual edge of the pomelo. RIP 💔

So this starts out as a fruity santal 33 and then transforms into noir 29. Vilhelms fresh scents has a clear dna that is really similar. For example morning chess and black citrus has the same cold freshness in them. This is really good. massive croudpleasing summerscent that lasts forever.

Sexy as fuck. Try mixing it with quince and you'll be surprised how nice it is. You have to like tobacco for you to enjoy this. It's very heavy on the tobacco smell. I happen to love the smell of cigars and tobacco so I really like this.

Totally Patch . It seems to me the new formulation fits the name of the fragrance a lot better than the former notes. I like this a ton. Dirty, earthy, smoky. Mix with your favorite yellow floral, vanilla or green. Yum .

Sharp but simple spicy-woody men's cologne spilled on a musty, dusty sofa in the basement. There's something textural about it that does indeed remind me of dense fabric. Aptly named but generally not to my taste.

Grateful as I think I got this before a reformulation. Otherwise, I may just be convincing myself with the notes on here. However, I get salt, tobacco, and vetiver. Such a hazy and cozy dry scent.

Very sexy salty woody - tobacco scent for a man. It’s dark and dramatic. After an 1-1.5h smells strictly heavy tobacco.

This is a dirty one, indeed. Very sexy, insane longevity, patchouli for days. Great for a crazy, sweaty night.
