Mango Skin

I absolutely love this fragrance. It honestly might be my number one favorite fragrance! To me, this smells like a very realistic, juicy, sweet, slightly tart mango. I think that the blackberry note in the top really just serves to add sweetness to the mango. You can picture the blackberry being there if someone tells you, but really it's mango front and center. You do get the florals, but they never upstage the mango. They really just add interest and an heir of femininity. I can detect the patchouli, but I have a nose for patchouli haha. Having the patchouli in the base, especially paired with the vanilla, really just brings depth and sexiness to the fragrance. It grounds the fragrance and gives it more body. Most people would not detect the patchouli at all. It's merely supportive in this fragrance, not prominent. The vanilla and pink sugar don't stand out as individual notes, but just add sweetness to the mango. This fragrance just screams summer and really shines in hot, humid weather. It's perfect for daytime or nighttime wear, hanging out with your friends, or going on a dinner date. The vibe it gives is fun, approachable, warm, confident, flirty, and sexy. I've gotten many compliments on this fragrance from both men and women. You'll want to eat yourself a little bit when you wear this! I get good sillage and great longevity with this fragrance. I can always smell it on me throughout the day when I wear it, which is something I really enjoy. Quite often I'll spray a fragrance, but after a minute I won't be able to smell it on myself really (which is such a bummer!). So, despite not being a "heavy" fragrance, this scent really does stick around. At the end of the day after the fragrance has worn off, you're left with this sweet scent on your skin. It's very pleasant the way that it dissipates and it never gets powdery (which happens at the very end of most fragrance's performance for me). If you are a mango lover just buy it! It's perfect and actually not that expensive compared to many other niche fragrances.

I was searching for a summer scent to treat myself with and this fit the bill. It's most definitely a treat: sweet, sour, and indulgent. On initial spray its like you're biting into a fresh, just-barely-ripe mango, complete with that sour tang that you get when the flesh is still firm. After the dry down it leans more into the sweet aspect and lands firmly in gourmand territory, reminiscent of a mango sherbet or sorbet (not ice cream though as I don't find this particularly milky or creamy). While not as strong, the sour aspect sticks around for the duration of the wear, which I love because its my favorite characteristic of the fruit. I often struggle with summery notes such as coconut or suntan lotion, as they can get overwhelming and cloying, especially in high heat. For those of you with similar preferences, Mango Skin is a great alternative. Its got the perfect level of fruity sweetness without feeling too heavy or "tropical." Of course, you can always bring it there with lotions, layering, etc. if you like that sort of thing. In my opinion, a very versatile and joyful scent!

I'm not usually a fruity fragrance type gal but I really do enjoy this scent. It definitely smells tropical with a prominent mango note. I just wish it projected as much after a few hours as it does for the first couple of hours. For me, the longevity is the issue which makes it an expensive fragrance that doesn't last as long as I would like it to. Mango Skin definitely gives you a feeling of contentedness. It is vibrant in a way that is uplifting and makes you feel good, especially in winter when the weather is gloomy and cold. It can bring in a sense of escapism, sending your mind to a sun-drenched beach with powdery white sand and turquoise waters, a cocktail in hand, and good company. If worn in the warmer months, I imagine a woman with a beautiful flowy dress made of lightweight fabric such as chiffon, brightly painted nails, summery sandals adorned with beautiful intricately designed trinkets and a cute handbag tucked under her arm. On the same token I could see a man in shorts, a t-shirt or polo shirt with good quality sandals and a manbag/satchel.

On initial spray, I think this is one of the best frags I've ever smelled. The opening is bright and punchy. I immediately get a nice ripe juicy red mango on top of sharp green mango followed by something tropical, and then something elegant. This is the only fragrance I've ever worn where the ylang-ylang didn't violently take a u-turn into a pile of hot garbage, instead, enhancing the overall experience. Within about an hour, I've entered the drydown period. This is a nice skin scent--a peppery, gently sweet muskiness. I don't detect any patchouli, barely any vanilla, and I don't get flowerbomb on the drydown like some others. Maybe some Versace Yellow Diamond Intense vibes? Years ago, I wore YDI to a special occasion and it rubbed off onto the seatbelt in my husband's car. This drydown reminds me of the generic "woman" scent that I smell every time I hop into the passenger seat of that car. While still pleasantly elegant, there's nothing really special on the drydown. IMO, the price point is high, but totally worth it if you can grab this at a discount.

Ok so I have been on a mango kick this summer and it’s my favourite fruity note.☀️💛 This is such a unique and fresh and realistic mango scent. like summer in a bottle! It is very tropical and tangy in a way. It’s sweet but zingy. It smells like cutting into a fresh mango (that isn’t too ripe) and you can smell the mango skin with a bit of tanginess to it, but you can also smell the juicy and fresh mango. It also has such a clean girl vibe like you used mango shampoo.🥭🫧⛱️ Whenever I wear this I get so many compliments and people seem to love this fragrance so you will surely get alot of compliments. The sillage and longevity is actually great on my skin. Also the magnetic cap and the beautiful fine mist atomiser is a big plus and it’s very well made. Overall , this is a beautiful tangy fresh sweet mango scent. It’s worth a try if you love mango in your fragrances.

Pure mango supremacy. This is the most photorealistic mango scent EVER - I can smell the fuzz of the mango, the skin of the mango, the FLESH of the mango - it's all there from start to finish. This is juicy, vibrant, bright, warm, and whimsical. Yet there is depth and substance to it. It's linear in that it's mostly mango, but complex in its delivery of the note. Picture mangos painted in pop-art or from Andy Warhol's brush. The bottle matches the vibe of this perfume beautifully, the projection is excellent, and the longevity is respectable (about 4 hours of real wear in my opinion). I usually prefer more complex fragrances, but Vilhem masterfully paints a singular thought - mangos - into a rich, lush idea. So well in fact, this has made it into my top 5. EASY 10/10

Talk about a MANGO scent! This is the most delicious and decadent tropical fragrance. If you are looking for a ripe, juicy and realistic mango, this is it. Nothing more, nothing less, just this fruity goodness. It reminds me being on vacations in Queensland (Tropical Australia) and buying this mango off this elderly farmer on the local market of Port Douglas. He had only products from the day; 5 mangoes, 4 pineapples and 6 guavas. This mango remains the best mango I had to this day. From the skin, we could smell the pulp! The pulp was so sweet that it tasted like a Candy. When I see reviews that says it smells too sweet to be realistic, I think about this mango I had. STUNNING and long-lasting. Compliments everytime. My friend even bought it after smelling it on me.

This is SO good. I'm salivating. WHY is it SO expensive!? I've found a good enough dupe to scratch the Mango Skin itch whilst dreaming I could justify paying for the genius of the real thing. I think no one can successfully copy it because Vilhelm is lying about the notes (I mean fair enough, but blast it!). Pink icing? No way - it's not fake/sugary sweet enough. Vanilla is questionable too. I reckon there's a sparkly musk and champagne secret sauce in here. & the teensiest bit of white or green wood... maybe bamboo or oakmoss... Nothing crazy, just enough to account for the complexity and cut the mango sweetness... gah, I guess the patchouli could be doing that. This is fruitless, I give up! I love hate you, Vilhelm :-(

This is such a good mango fragrance and I think it’s better than the other mango fragrance people rave about which is god of fire. I think the mango note in this fragrance is really realistic and is so sweet and juicy smelling like a mango freshly picked on an island in the Caribbean. The top notes of blackberry and mango fit so well together and form a fruity masterpiece, it then dries down to a very sweet sort of mango cake. The only thing which bugs me is that the dry down is really feminine and that might be the thing which stops me from buying it. It was love at first sniff. I first tried it from a decant, and I had never smelled such a realistic mango in a perfume , juicy, vibrant, and yet so sophisticated. It’s beautifully blended with florals, fruity notes, and just a touch of patchouli (thankfully very subtle in my opinion). I hesitated to buy it at first because the price is quite high, but I finally purchased a full bottle this summer and I’m enjoying it so much. This is my first fragrance from Vilhelm Perfumerie, and now I’m curious to explore more from the house to see if anything else captures me the same way. Scent: 10/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 6/10

This is a great scent. It makes you feel like your in summer just chilling eating a sorbet, It has the best mango note i can find that lasts all day, To me a male i wear this almost everyday when its hot out it smells fresh and clean and i have gotten more complements on this than almost every other fragrance I've worn. I don't get any icing on the dry down more mango with that vanilla and patchouli just riding along with it. Smell: 9/10 projection: 7/10 longevity: 8/10 Bottle/atomizer: Bottle looks neat very flat but weird to spray, The atomizer is half decent plus you get a magnetic cap so plus 2 points.

a tad bit too sweet, but for someone who strongly dislikes sickly sweets/gourmands and is prone to getting headaches due to it, this is just on the line of tolerable. i do love fruity scents, vanila, aquatic flowers and peppers. i would have preffered better balance, as the mango is heavy, but not too artificial. i did get a lot of compliments from coworkers and customers (im a barista) the one time i wore it working, meaning the sillage was definitely too obnoxious for the setting and my personal taste lol it's kinda a center of attention scent. i mean, who doesnt love mangoes!

I really like this. Upon the initial spray it was really sweet, but oddly it didn't end up feeling cloying, it was perfectly sweet. It kind of reminds me of a certain gummy candy. After a hour or so it changed and became ginger tea. It reminded me of when I had insomnia and would mix ginger peach turmeric tea with sleepytime tea. It stayed like that for hours before I started noticing whiffs of that opening that just randomly popped up every so often while I was working. It lasted at least 5 hours but then I sprayed it again after my break because I always do. I like this stuff!

This was my scent every time I visited Thailand, so every time I wear it, it just takes me back. I sadly finished this bottle today and I’m thinking about repurchasing once I go through my other summer fragrances. Perfect in high humidity, the sweetness of the mango really shines and it lasts all day and projects much better than when you’re in dry climates. Although most people have complimented me on this fragrance, I did have one person tell me it smells like mango gone bad so I don’t recommend blind buying.

This opens with a realistic mango. It's not too green or too sticky or syrup sweet. Very balanced. It's 24 hrs later and it's super faint on my skin. I think the Orris does a good job of grounding this fragrance. It's definitely worth the money and I find it truly unique. Everytime I wear it people stop me because of how it smells. It's winter and it still works on my skin. I think because of the vanilla. I regret not buying the largest size when it was on sale. To 5 fragrances! ❤️❤️❤️

I think this smells absolutely amazing! It’s tangy and sweet and fruity and zesty . The mango is the main player here but there’s something more to it . It finally came to me , this reminds me of bath and body works into the night in the dry down but with zesty mango mixed in with the raspberry. It even reminds me of the new commodity juice but without the rose . It starts more tangy and juicy then settles into a sweeter floral

I've been on a hunt for mango lately and this is the only one that's satisfied my desires for that sweet, juicy mango that isn't too syrupy. Tried Fame, Flowerbomb Tiger Lily, Sunplosion - this is the nicest of the bunch. It's a bit linear, but it smells like summer, good vibes, and being carefree. I hate Mancera/Montale's synthetic aspects and can sniff it out from a mile away, so this isn't that offensive or fake.

Fabulous and completely un-synthetic burst of pure mango to open. This quickly turns to green mango. The orris then peeks through along with the Jasmine and lotus. I get no vanilla nor icing sugar. I am surprised by comments saying the dry down is sweet. It fades quite fast actually but leaves behind a vaguely herbal, vaguely warm spice skin scent. Not savoury, but definitely not a sweet scent. Perfect for summer.

Totally not a skin scent. Because whenever you hear skin you usually think light or musk, but no. I actually like that this isn't musky. It smells like an unripe mango/mango peels. I didn't get the icing note but I think I just wasn't paying attention lol! Its an amazing sour mango fragrance, leaning on the fruity side. Kind of God of fire's younger, feminine and more juvenile twin. In a good way of course!

This is my baby. My summertime staple. I wear it with Phlur Mango Mood. (I can’t remember if I reviewed this before, lol). Anyway, I see some of you complaining about the price. Might I point you to it girl juices magnetic mango found in Marshall’s and the like for $14.99. It’s a one to one match to me and I wear them both together sometimes to preserve the Mango Skin.

The mango opening is juicy and reminiscent of cutting up a ripe mango. On dry down I get the vanilla and pink icing with just a hint of mango but none of the patchouli. There is also a creamy lactonic note that I just love in the dry down. The biggest selling point for me was the lasting power. It will last over 12 hours and I can still smell it after showering.

This fragrance is a sophisticated take on mango. And, yes, mango is the prominent top note, with something spicy and earthy underneath. But there's nothing childish about this scent. Mango Skin is elegant and poised. It smells fresh yet sensual, like sipping cocktails at midnight in Bora Bora, like lounging on a yacht at sunset.

I love that this perfume imitates mango skin so well. The scent of mango is subtle, while the other notes are allowed the opportunity to shine, but the mango scent never dissipates. I appreciate that it's not cloying but still has a sweet essence to it. Another perk: this lasted forever on my skin.

Best top note I have ever smelt. Juicy ripe sweet mango. Dry down is also very nice but the top note is the main feature here for me, smells delicious and refreshing, makes me want to pull off the cap and drink the juice. 10/10, best summer fragrance I have ever smelt.

I’m guessing you pay for what you get here. This is a delicious juicy mango scent. It’s by far one of the best mango tropical perfumes I’ve ever laid my nose on. Could you get a body mist that smells just as good? Probably. But this is worth every penny.

Babyyyy...I love this perfume and I am so not a fruity perfume lover. It’s so juicy and sexy as well. I paired this with Mango Mood hair and body from Phlur which actually smells identical and omg...Chef’s kiss 💋 10+ hours of longevity for me.

The most realistic mango scent JUICY realistic mango, very sweet with some nice hints of blackberry. Perfectly balanced fruitiness with sweetness while being very refreshing. One of the best summer scents and the best mango scent ever made!

i adore this fragrance. but i am broke. so i went on the hunt of a lifetime for something cheaper. mango mood is great, but not this. yara tous is like 75% similar. but now i have found the one. its mango punch by paris corner. IDENTICAL.

Sweet and fruity without being cloying, dries down beautifully. I can't stop sniffing my wrist when I have this on. Decent longevity and sillage. It doesn't smell cheap to me, there are enough notes in this perfume to make it interesting.

never owned it, but every time i try it, i love the opening, and the dry down. i dont understand the bad reviews, does smell synthetic to me, but there are more realistic mangos out there, great fragrence, bit over priced

I smelled this at a Neiman Marcus and it’s awesome. Contrary to many reviews, I think both genders can pull this off. The best way to describe this is a fresher more fruity take on SHL god of fire or Vulcan feu. 10/10

This is a beautiful scent. The mango is dominant and to me juicy. Definitely a hidden gem. I feel like I want to tell others about this fragrance but want to keep it for myself lol.

Fragrantica has the notes mixed up. The official notes from the Vilhelm website are: Top - Blackberries, Mango, Black Pepper Heart - Wild Orris, Black Lotus, Jasmin Base - Patchouli, Vanilla, Pink Sugar Patchouli, blackberries, pepper and vanilla are crucial to this perfume, so the list currently on this site doesn't paint a good picture of the scent at all. Mango Skin showcases the sweet and juicy aspects of a ripe mango, but also has tart and sour fruity notes to it due to the carefully worked-in blackberry. There are definitely spicy, peppery undertones. This scent screams summer, it's fizzy and sparkling, but not light. Just very happy and uplifting. The patch and vanilla base and the deep sugary sweetness add some weight to it. For me personally it might be a little too far on the sour side to fall in love with it, but I like it a lot, especially after a couple hours when the vanilla starts to shine. I understand the comparisons to LVEB and Angel Eau Croisière (2019), even though it doesn't really smell like either to me. Let me explain it this way: The patch/vanilla/iris/fruit combo in this is quite close to that in LVEB, but the overall scent is much lighter and fresher. Mango Skin does to LVEB what Eau Croisière does to Angel, but doesn't turn out as Escada-ish as that one.

Wow, this is way more perfumey than I initially thought. The mango is strong and very juicy, and maybe a tad too sweet? It is more like a mango sorbet than a fresh mango. It also gives a hint of something my nose pick up a citrus-y, maybe that is the blackberry that gives it a bit of contrast? As I said, it is really perfumey and to me it feels a bit generic. And by that I mean that it smells like a body lotion mango scent, just a bit more refined. Still, I do find it sweet, juicy and sparkling in a way. It is a bit heavy to be a sweet freshie, but in my opinion that is what makes this exiting and not stale, and juvenile as I feel fruity scents tends to be. In the drydown is where you find the real gem. You get a slight woody scent with a nicely blended patchouly vanilla, and the mango is just lingering outside of it, and tying it together. Theres a lot of things to love about this, but I can’t give it a full 5/5. But to all of you fruity, and mango lovers out there, get a sample!

took my partner to scent bar nyc because i love bringing people perfume sniffing with me and it was too cold to not have my coat on so its possible some of it rubbed off and this review isnt too reliable but of the perfumes i tried on that day (angel dust, bewitching yazmin, fleur eclair) it was my second favorite (following Lira from Xerjoff which OUT PERFORMED the others but i also got to spray it more abundantly + on my neck) BUT!!! it was so yummy. didnt last long on my inner elbow, but i adored every second of its ephemeral life. it was playful and juicy and flirting with me, invoking a sniff every couple of minutes while i ate dinner with my baby. as a mango lover i will be ordering me a lil decant to see if i buy a full bottle :3

I just received it, first impressions: SWEET AND RIPE MANGO 🥰🥰🥰 can notice more fruits in the composition, such as a bergamot or green tangerine, something floral to lower the intensity of the sweet notes, highlights above all the ylang-ylang that brings with it a clean tone so rich, but not clean from shower but from freshly washed clean clothes, scented and ready to use. Its drying a little meh, I expected something sugary and vanilla but no, at least on my skin, it is very musky and a bit animalic because of the civet. Suitable for use all year round, although its strength is in milder times, especially summer, when it is unleashed and shows off like a rockstar on stage. Apparently the notes listed here are wrong 🤷🤷

I don't know about the guys in the comments, this is a winner to me. I am back on a perfume kick and have been wanting Poets of Berlin for some time. In a random luxury swap I got this and some samples from Vilhelm. Due to all the negative comments, I wasn't expecting much but this is a fantastic smell perfect for summer. From summer in the city to summer in the tropics, this is frigging fantastic. The opening Maaza mango juice smell with a hint of pepper spiciness over jasmine and lotus melting to a pink icing, patchouli, orgasmic base is sublime. I do wish the longevity was a bit longer, but I am willing to pay the retail price point for this little number. This may be my signature summer scent.

When I first spray this perfume I get a hit of sweet mango rubicon. However, when the sweetness dies down it leaves the most incredible sophisticated, fruity scent. I don't usually like fruity perfumes, and this is definitely fruity! But the orris and vanilla really balance this out for me and I have found this is one of the only fruit smells that I enjoy wearing. Incidentally, the notes listed here are different from those listed by Vilhelm Parfumerie which are: TOP : BLACKBERRIES, MANGO, BLACK PEPPER MIDDLE : WILD ORRIS, BLACK LOTUS, JASMIN BASE : PATCHOULI, VANILLA, PINK SUGAR For me this is very much a summer scent. And in spite of the fruitiness, I feel it is truly unisex.
