Modest Mimosa

I love this minosa, i love all mimosa for example from Prada Infusion or L’Artisan Parfumeur moi but this one is more fresher maybe neroli makes it like that but 280 euro? No thanks i will buy minosa from LP P.s dry down is similar to Ambrette 9 from le labo soft powdery scent for children As for the leather i don’t get it in any stage

I'm trying a sample today for the first time and am loving it. doesn't really last on my skin, but smells like being in a flower shop, a fancy one. i feel like a crisp spring day. this scent gives me calm and joy. love it

In the end i got it as a suprise gift from my husband I didn’t plan it because I cannot justify this price but i have to admit it is soooo good Absolutely beautiful fresh mimosa neroli musc scse t Longevity is great

This is everything I wanted from Mimosa Pour Moi! I was so sad that LP discontinued it, even though admittedly it didn’t last very long on me. This is delightful!

I love this one, just wished it lasted a bit longer. It is a yellow warm cozy mimosa.

I find this perfume very nice and charming, but it doesn't quite smell like new mimosa blossoms on the tree in spring. It is very much about the mimosa flower, but it seems to just have the fluffy yellow nuances and almondy nuances of it and is missing the sweet honey and green nuances found in mimosa flowers. I also am not the biggest fan of the earthy carrot smell in the opening or the leathery smell in the base. I do like the musk in the base and the citrusy sweet neroli in the opening though. I think that they enhance the smell of the mimosa and draw it out even more. The violet is a bit too much though and could be toned down a tad. I'd say that Modest Mimosa is a very spring-like and feminine perfume that you could also wear in summer and its sunny character makes me think it would be best worn during the day. I got about 9 and a half hours of wear time from this and an arm's length scent bubble that sort of just radiated and wafted off of me. It has a very calming effect on me. Altogether, I'd give Modest Mimosa by Vilhelm Parfumerie a 7.2/10. I think that Amarige Harvest Mimosa 2007 by Givenchy, Herba Mimosa by Chloé, A Winter's Spring by Gucci and Amarige Mimosa Millésime 2005 are much better and more natural smelling mimosa perfumes in my opinion.

I find this perfume very amicable and wearable. Every spring I get a craving for mimosa, its strange powdery-saltiness. Most mimosa perfumes smell of anything but mimosa, or are far too powdery. This is a very decent attempt at the real thing. It may not be mind-blowingly innovative, but it's a nice, soft floral with a slight salty twist, which i spray on every morning without hesitation. No complaints here!

I wasn’t familiar with mimosa nor into yellow florals, but this one is reaaaally good. A fresh, mimosa forward scent, with a back of white florals. Musky, not heavy on the yellow florals (which could smell like « pee » if overdosed). First blast of clean sweet powdery mimosa. Vaguely 90s powersuit floral but not overbearing. Youthful, simple, one-note, but charming.. a wedding day scent. Like a sunny yellow spring day in a bottle. Scent does get stronger and sweeter over time. Don't overspray this one. Ultra feminine and best for mild weather

A lovely mimosa. More powdery, tender and serious in the beginning, more floral, creamy, sweet coming to and end. There is a slight metallic tone on the dry down. I wish there was none.

It smells like those scented Crayola markers in the best way possible.

It reminds me of a sunny summer day in a field of dandelions.

This one is weird. My 8yo daughter says it smells like sticky honey, and doesn’t like it. And she loves honey, It has a weird smell on my skin, much better on clothing for me. But still doesn’t hit it off with my nose. It offends me a little, like the smell of pollen does. It’s not bad, it almost smells good, but it’s somewhat repulsive.

The opening to this smells like pollen. It’s hard to describe, like maybe a dandelion is better - then dries down to a sweet candied violet. Meh. Vilhelm has much better other options.

I really enjoy the carrot note of this perfume, but the dry down is like a powdery sweet candy. Pretty, which is not really to my tastes

I am so disappointed... I really had high expectations of this perfume but sadly it's a no for me. The opening is all carrot, very strong neroli and then the infamous mimosa... I just... I cannot stand it, it gave me an instant nausea and gag reflex, followed by a stomach ache, this is by far the first fragrance that had me gagging and feeling sick, I really do not know what it is, I just could not pass that opening and after 5 min I had to wash it off like 3 times and I could still smell it. Trying to see if it was only me I asked a friend to smell it too and she had the same disgusted reaction. If you like the notes then go ahead, but if you are not familiar with mimosa notes and carrot notes do not start with this one, is just awful and not pleasant at all in my opinion.

Hmmm I really thought I’d like this more. The neroli is so strong in the beginning, me and my partner both agreed it reminded us of laundry detergent. The carrot comes out after a minute but it’s very faint. Then comes the mimosa. That lasts the longest before I get a quick intermission of mostly violet (which was my favorite part), and then it mostly disappears. I never really got leather out of this, and I think the musk note blended in when I was mostly getting violet, but overall I wasn’t super impressed.

I really wish there was a mimosa perfume that smelled exactly like real mimosa. If you’ve ever purchased cut mimosa blossoms that come sealed in a plastic airbag (to protect the little yellow fuzzballs from bruising) you already know that fresh mimosa smells like a newborn angel, soft, powdery but with nuance of milk, bread dough, and a slightly putrid, moist, green note that reminds you that this once-living thing is now slowly decomposing. Modest Mimosa, while a lovely subtle powdery perfume with obvious mimosa inspiration, doesn’t quite capture the beauty of the real thing. They’re in good company though because I can say the same for Caron, L’artisan, Goutal, and Papillon’s versions. They all seem to miss the complexity of the dark underbelly of the mimosa smell. Yellow powder on top, check, but where is that doughy, milky, slightly sour base? The contrasting ugliness that makes the whole scent sing in beautiful, botanical harmony? Imitating nature is apparently easier said than done.

This review is simple. Mimosa galore. It's front & center. I personally hate Mimosa. Diptyque has a mimosa candle and I hate that as well. I know hate is a strong word, especially to describe a description/opinion about a fragrance. I'm using that word consciously and purposely. Mimosa is about as far dislike as I can go on my personal scale. Hence my use of hate.

From the moment I opened the bottle, I was transported to the South of France. I don't understand many of these reviews. This is a wonderful Mimosa perfume without being cloying. It is fresh and wonderful for spring and summer. There is no musky or leather smell to it and I am surprised to see it in the base. It is a lovely mimosa experience.

One underrated gem from Vilhelm. The mimosa is so soft and gentle. Definitely my fav from this house!

Smells like Carrot juice, Chamomile tea, vegan pomades and crushed Violets. Farm Heroes feelings!
