Room Service

I decided to properly test Room Service Eau de Parfum on my skin for the evening because it’s one of the most expensive perfumes in my collection and also one of the least complimented. Opening: Right after spraying, it smelled like a fruity floral. I could detect something berry-like with a slightly leafy freshness, which gave the impression of berries still on the plant rather than something sugary. Heart (30–40 minutes): The berry note softened and the fragrance turned into a clean citrusy floral. It reminded me a bit of the airy vibe of See by Chloé — fresh, feminine, and pleasant. Later development: After a few hours, the scent became a soft sweet floral. The structure of the perfume didn’t change dramatically after the first hour; it mostly stayed in this clean floral territory. Longevity: Surprisingly good. I sprayed it around 7:40 PM and could still smell it close to my skin around 2 AM. Projection & sillage: This is where the fragrance struggles. The sillage is very weak, and the projection is minimal. It’s the type of scent people will only notice if they’re very close to you. Overall: Room Service smells elegant, clean, and understated — almost like expensive hotel soap or freshly laundered linens. It’s beautiful in a subtle way, but it’s also extremely quiet. If you prefer fragrances that project and attract compliments, this one may feel underwhelming. However, if you enjoy delicate, intimate skin scents, you might appreciate its soft elegance.

I mean... this is Vilhelm, after all these people really know how to make a whole concept inside a perfume. Every time I try another fragrance from this house I get more and more hooked up and obsessed with them. This is an airy fresh sunny day, the opening is all blackberries with hints of tart and violet, it makes me think of an afternoon date in spring when all the trees are blooming and the air is nice and clean. after some minutes this mutates to an almost white flowery type of perfume, but with the back of musk and sandalwood it is just delicious. I have to admit that even though I am really pleased and excited about this scent I still agree with the idea that it might need a little bit of more personality, this is gorgeous but I can see why someone can be like "Meh is ok" because of the white flower part of the fragrance that just smells at times like any other white flower scent... buuut once it dries this is really romantic and very different from any other scents. Sample it if you are wondering, I do think this is definitely a crowd pleaser with good silage and decent projection, she is for sure going into my holidays wish list, so try it and judge for yourself.

It is a privilege of mine to be the first reviewer on this fragrance and potentially the perfume house. A lovely fragrance and I would say above all a very safe fragrance. Right away you get fruit specifically Mandarin and I believe plum or some other sort of berry—blackberry, blueberry...essentially all of the blues & none of the reds. Very feminine and very soft. Silage does not trail at all which is quite disappointing for the $245 price tag. I'm sure most of you out there will expect more from a fragrance . I know I was. Bluntly I would say if you have the money to spare this is definitely a good buy for you. if you think $245 is a lot of money I would say skip this fragrance and buy something else. Not to say anything about the scent itself is quite lovely. Unfortunately it doesn't have a slow turn but you get most all of the sense within the hour. Would have to refresh often but if you work in an area where you can go to the restroom often this is a beautiful fragrance to use. Similar to annick goutal petite cherie, but certainly better.

I’m not sure what it is that draws me to this fragrance. It’s unusual and I have nothing like it in my collection. To my nose, I don’t get any of the Chloe references and I have both. It’s green, but not a green you’d expect. The bamboo is prevalent and goes beautifully with the blackberry and orchid. I know most people say it reminds them of a fancy hotel, but I don’t get that. What really floors me about this perfume is the experience I have with it - upon initial application it smells like wet skin. Not fresh wet skin, but like you were rained on mid day. Then it dries down to the fruits and musks with a heavy background of the bamboo. The orchid comes out last with the black amber. It lasts on my skin directly out of my showers from 8pm-7:30am. I have very horrible sense of smell due to COVID a year ago, but I can still smell it on my skin 12 hours later. I can’t tell if it projects well as my husband hasn’t mentioned anything and I only tend to wear this to bed. I love it and I’m glad I own it. That’s all that matters.

I'm also surprised by the negative reviews of this one! It's bright and citrusy with a tangy berry at first, then settles into a clean floral and soft musk. I love "clean girl" scents, and this one fits right into my fragrance wardrobe, adding a hint more citrus than most of my faves without getting into that lemony nostril-burn territory that I dislike in many citrus scents. It's clean-girl-lounging-in-clean-sheets, hair loose, wearing a white robe and sporting a fresh mani/pedi and a recent facial. Fresh, elegant, luxurious, pampered. Must be a skin chemistry thing, as to me this feels very safe and office-friendly. I do understand if some people find it "boring" but I tend to like intimate, clean, and musky florals so this sits squarly in the center of that lane. This will be in my regular rotation all spring and summer. I ordered the travel size, but will likely buy the full bottle next spring (or sooner if I blaze through the travel size).

Everyone trying to compare this scent to others clearly doesn’t get it — so just ignore them. This fragrance is the definition of pure cleanliness. It sits close to the skin and doesn’t project into the room — and honestly, expecting it to do so is missing the point entirely. It’s simple, clean, cozy — no extra commentary needed. It lasts about 5–6 hours on the skin. Personally, I love using Room Service to lightly spray my clothes after ironing — it leaves my wardrobe smelling beautifully fresh. It’s the safest choice possible when it comes to perfume: clean, not synthetically clean — just genuinely pleasant and pure. And honestly, in a world with millions of people who have poor hygiene, if everyone smelled as clean as this, the world would be a far more pleasant place to live in.

I live in the tropics so this may not be applicable to those who live in snowing countries. This smells like the toiletries at the Ritz Carlton that comes in a purple tube. A mouthwatering clean blackberry with citrusy bamboo. I was gifted the 20 ml by someone who didn't like it. Sprayed it on my skin, pajamas, sheets and pillows and woke up to a beautiful luxurious scent. It smells like 'quiet luxury'. Think of an effortlessly elegant woman in casual clothes but the way she moves is a giveaway that she comes from old money. This fragrance is just right. Not too weak nor too strong. it smells clean without smelling like detergent or generic soap. The musk balances perfectly with the other notes making this wearable all year round anytime of day but best in the daytime.

This one completely surprised me, it is really special! Granted, the opening gave me slight “hair salon” hesitation — clean, pretty, a bit polished — but then it softened... and something quietly beautiful emerged. In the drydown, this turns into the loveliest laid-back, clean-skin warmth. There’s a subtle fruity glow and a gently grounded base that keeps it from feeling too girly or too sweet. It’s effortless. No drama. No sharp edges. Just calm, confident prettiness with a bit of depth. Not loud. Not attention-seeking. But emotionally? It has that little “oh... that’s lovely” moment. As much as I love it, I'd highly recommend a sample first, though - the varied mix of reviews strongly suggest that it is skin chemistry sensitive.

From the name and blurb of this fragrance I would have imagined this to be a somewhat subdued, even melancholy scent. But surprisingly it's got a sparkly freshness to it and I would even say it has an uplifting quality. I'm finding the individual notes difficult to pick out - perhaps because I don't know what bamboo or orchid smell like - but I get quite a bit of fruit (mostly the blackberry), delicate flowers and a very slight sweetness. Overall it feels very airy. Or maybe watery. Like a bouquet of fresh spring flowers sitting in a clear vase of water, next to a bowl of fresh fruit, with a light breeze coming through the window. Perfect for a beautiful early spring day like today!

I got this in my recent Mecca beauty loop box and was pleasantly surprised as I don’t expect much from the perfume samples I get in Mecca boxes. However, I was taken aback by how beautiful the initial spray was! Very fruity but not synthetic or juvenile which I feel is ‘tamed’ by the gentle musk and floral notes. Dry down is a juicy but not fake, powdery floral. Very pleasant and easy to wear! Don’t think I’d fork out for a full bottle as it’s nothing groundbreaking or something you couldn’t find in a similar fragrance way cheaper elsewhere but a lovely spring/summer scent all the same!

when i was a little girl i had a strawberry shortcake book w/ scratch and sniff stickers—this smells almost exactly like one of those stickers! i love love love this one beyond words. a super light, sparkling clean, fruity floral fragrance that's beautifully composed and sticks out in a sea of copycats. the sillage leaves something to be desired, which is sad because i would marinate in this if i could. i'm going to try out a few of the dupes, because this bottle is quite expensive and not financially viable in the long-term for me :(

At first, I didn't understand this perfume whilst trying it in between several others; it was too dry soapy with seemingly nothing else going on, but having used a sample all by itself, this has become a favourite. The dryness is definitely there at its base but the top is a delicate blossomy blackberry that sits deeply and comfortably in the musky powder. Reminds me of the airy and classy fruitiness of mid-2000s Dior perfumes (and the like). Lasts over 24 hours on clothes.

A bright burst of soapy blackberries, fresh green notes (bamboo) and slight purple floral notes. I find this clean, fresh, luxurious and somewhat reminiscent of Diptyque baies (blackberry with green leaves and stems) scented soap on my skin. If you’ve smelled Dear Polly and Poets of Berlin by this house, you already know Vilhelm Parfumerie does fruit notes really well. I also love their use of bamboo (a really unusual note in perfumery) here and in Poets of Berlin.

I love this so much! I have a sample from Vilhelm's discovery kit and this is my favorite from the kit. Since trying it, I crave this one after a bubble bath. It smells so clean and perfectly blended. The combination of the blackberry in the top notes, the bamboo and violet in the middle notes and the sandalwood and black amber in the base notes, make this so comforting and unique. I might have to get a full bottle of this one! 8.5/10 ❤😍

really in love with this scent, i get how people might read a cleaning product scent off of it but on my skin it’s almost a second skin fragrance, very musky and clean, the violet and musky amber notes read the strongest on me, the name is evocative of the scent, it smells like the most expensive luxurious hotel lobby, obviously expensive as most niche perfume houses are, but unique enough to purchase if you love this scent like me

I didn’t fall in love with this at first. Unfortunately it took until below half my bottle. Initially all I smelled was soapy bubble bath and I was annoyed. I was wearing it during winter. As the warmer spring weather came this really transforms. It was a crystalline sparkly violet quality to it. It reaches towards sweet but never actually gets there. It’s easy to wear, classy, and just special enough.

When I first put it on, it’s very tart and bright thanks to the mandarin orange. There’s a weird transition as the jammy sweet blackberry takes over, and then it turns powdery and warm after about an hour. In a way, it reminds me of a casual, cozy Poison without the herbal and aromatic notes. If it weren’t so expensive and hard to find, I’d look for a bottle for myself.

I received a sample of this yesterday, and despite hearing some negative reviews, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the scent. While it does have a slightly soapy undertone, it's pleasant and reminiscent of clean laundry. I will continue to wear it as it does smell appealing if you appreciate a soapy and fresh laundry fragrance.

I really like this!! Which I was surprised by because people say it's powdery, but it's violet not iris which I like much more (lighter, less old when paired w fruit) I am not sure if I'd buy this because there are other fresh and clean scents I like more, but this is like spring cleaning!! Floral, linen, windows open in the house, etc.

I love this! Smell is so subjective, but I’m still surprised by all the negative reviews. This smells so clean! It reminds me of Bubble Bath by Maison Margiela, but with an extra layer of fruitiness or soft floral. This is a perfect scent for layering or for wanting to feel enveloped in cozy cleanliness!
