Stockholm 1978

I agree with the other reviews... Soapy. But for me, a good soapy. Vilhelm link a little story with each fragrance. This one is (obviously) about Stockholm in 1978. I can imagine this to be true. I get a sense of... Abba at their peak and the scent of a crisp scandi Volvo salesman on a wednesday morning. Understated yet identifiable.

I really love the almond citrusy opening of this perfume. It then touches to smelling a classic cologne but only shortly. Just like someone mentioned below it has an element of frankincense, which I like, that shows up and is not listed. It brings memories of ceremonies in (orthodox) churches. I would totally disagree it smells like baby wipes like some mention below. For me it settles into a clear patchouli and oak moss so if you like those elements along with the frankincense this could be a fragrance for you. It is for sure a very distinct scent. What a ride!

Pleasant, an easy wear, unfortunately its performance isn't so great. It's not anything spectacular, can be worn anywhere. It's also giving out those baby wipe vibes, especially on my skin. I didn't identify any spicyness, I'd more label it as clean.

So, this fragrance smells very similar to Brut. Those who know Brut know the legendary fragrance it has. It's very masculine, fresh spice. Reminds me of my USMC Grandfather. I love it, but for a man, not for me.

dry down absolutely sucks and smells like mossy damp baby wipes which is such a shame since the opening is the most delightful geranium aromatic explosion. the gross one note overpowering dry-down ruins an otherwise perfect perfume sadly

Ten minutes in I finally smelled the geranium and rosemary, but my god, it smells overwhelmingly like a (clean!) diaper from the first spray and then still strongly throughout. Like a soapy, plastic kind of smell -- so prevalent that it's hard for me to get past it.

Not unpleasant but certainly gives me the baby wipe vibe others have mentioned. I was given this bottle by a friend who also didn’t prefer it, so I wouldn’t recommend it based on our experience

The combo of rosemary with citrus give this perfume a handsoap direction. The dry down gets a little powdery or ambroxany like baby whipes...I dont like it.

Ugh. I was impressed enough with the rosemary and lemon notes of the opening to buy a large sample of this. Really too bad I was hasty, really too bad I did not look at reviews here. The "baby wipes" of the dry down--it is just impossible not to smell that, if you grew up with whatever that specific brand it is evoking is. And my god this sticks around. I am so unclear on the performance complaints here. I tried scrubbing this off my skin multiple times and woke up still smelling it the next day. Blech. Hard pass.

The opening is a wonderful geranium-rosemary-moss-ambergris aroma that is both fascinating and unique As the first 10 minutes pass by, the middle phase consists of lemon-moss-pepper where it gets spicier as the time passes However, it must be noted that this also smells strongly of frankincense (or Arabic gum) and this unlisted ghost note seems to be present throughout the longevity of the scent As the scent begins to mellow, a slight touch of almond begins to kick in and the geranium makes an appearance again while the moss continues to dominate This is a very unique smell and is definitely unisex best suited for cooler weather

The opening is unmistakably chypre-floral, not old-school enough to give an “old man” vibe, but definitely not a young man’s scent. It quickly turns into a slightly citrusy, powdery fragrance that differs quite a bit from the sharp, piercing opening. Baby wipes!? Yes, I can see why — it does smell like baby wipes. I don’t mind that at all; in fact, I actually love that smell. Nice to have in a larger collection, but hard to imagine it as one of 4-5 scents.

The most abstract and interesting of the whole line but in general the rest of the perfumes follow current trends, so don't expect any novelties or innovation. I would happily wear it along with Morning Chess (an airy, transparent patchouli) if they weren't so unreasonably expensive.

Soapy, like a super expensive soap from a 5 star hotel in London. Really similar to heritage from fragrance du bois and a third of the price. This is strong like most of the Vilhelm offerings, this and morning chess being the best two imo. 9/10

Got a sample and thought people were tripping, for sure it wouldn’t smell like baby wipes. I was wrong, it does 100% smell like baby wipes 😂 The opening is lovely though but yeah hard pass

I should like this scent given the notes, but all I can smell is baby wipes. It’s not bad, but I can get that smell for a whole lot cheaper.

This is one my favorite perfumes. It is just so unique and special.For me smells like wild flowers, pine and eucalyptus forest....

Pure aldehydes with rosemary and a touch of softness with almond and musks. Very soapy actually!
