Smoked Oud

Strong Like going up to Love! I was very interested in two specific Vince Camuto scents - Smoked Oud and Oud and when a friend send me 2ml sample of Smoked Oud I was so impatient to test it and wear it! My first impressions are more than positive, because to my nose, this is 100% niche type of scent, very well blended at a reasonable online price. It is very smooth and smoky, and I'm truly surprised no one make a comparison with the famous scent of Tom Ford - Sahara Noir... To my nose, Smoked Oud s the perfect wearable smooth and soft version of Sahara Noir. There are prominent smoky notes, plus some clear incense notes as well. I love Smoked Oud, because the composition is soft and rounded due to some wonderful notes like oriental jammy rose, some friendly spices and prominent balsamic-ambery notes. To me, this scent is skillfully composed and people who like smoky scents, but with some luxury vibe, with some sexy night out presence...this is the scent. To my nose, scents like Tom Ford Sahara Noir or L'Erbolario Myrrhae are a little bit too much of everything - too powerful, too raw, too churchy and spiritual, too old maybe... Smoked Oud gives me the perfect balance between deep and different smoky vibe, with nice oriental feeling that is perfectly wearable at every occasion - day or night. I've read this scent is rose and rose only - nothing could be further from the truth. The performance is good(on the softer side), not too powerful - some may expect with these notes beast mode, but it's not. On my skin it is sitting more close to the skin. Final words - Smoked Oud is an excellent smoky oriental scent, that got complex and deep, but seductive character. Super value for money, especially for fragrance enthusiasts, who love brave fragrances at nice price. It's not a head-turner, but it deserves attention/at least to me/. Now I want a bottle of it and one of his brother: Oud.

Getting this for the hubby! I think he could pull this off...will write more when he tests it. And now the results: This is a LOOOOOVE on him!!! I didn't know how he might feel about a men's fragrance with rose in it, but I thought I'd try anyway, and I'm happy to say he loves it, and has worn it a few times. The notes I picked up on his skin: the rose is realistic and a bit sweet, in a soft way, almost fruity (I hope this makes sense). It is not a sugared or syrupy or jammy rose. It is equal partners to whatever makes up the smoked oud. The smoked oud note is wonderful; not "band aid" or barnyard, but almost like a dry incense type of smoke flavored with a bit of cedar and herbs. I really think men could wear this very comfortably and not worry about anyone thinking they smell too flowery. This is a masculine rose and it is smoky, sexy, and well balanced. I wish more men would wear men's fragrances with rose notes, I think rose is divine on men. I spritzed my arm to smell the difference on me: women could pull this off; for me, the smoked oud and cedar were more prominent and the rose was in the background. I think for me it is a bit too masculine for my taste (I have Jo Malone's Velvet Rose & Oud and Montale's Louban and I get a more satisfying effect from them. But that's just my chemistry), but I am so glad I got this for him and he really likes it! Yay! This is a 10 out of 10.

A nice & smooth westernized Oud scented fragrance. Very synthetic at first spray that was a bit pungent and quite sharp. I let it sit to macerate and completely forgot about it. Two years later I found it deep in my storage closet and decided to give it a go for this year's cooler days. Big difference as it has smoothened out beautifully with the juniper berries right at the top accompanied by almost a burnt brown sugar accord along with a light Rose component. The Agarwood is not of the highest quality but, it is blended really nice especially with the light sweetness from the Tonka. No barnyard or fecal smell that Oud can sometimes be. Mass appealing and actually quite good during the entire wearing. Which unfortunately for me is its weak point. Projects for about 45 minutes to an hour then just a close skin scent for about another 6 hours. Nice woods with a soft yet masculine sweetness that is surprisingly good. In reality, I purchased it for under $25 US and at that price point it's a freaking steal. Today, it's going for an insanely amount of $$$ from the fragrance poachers that abound in the auction sights. A shame as it's a very easy Oud fragrance to wear almost year round. If you can find it at a real nice price say under $40 US, its worth it in my opinion.

This is my full wearing of recent acquisition (and another affordable blind buy) Vince Camuto Smoked Oud, a 2018 release that has been occasionally recommended to me and seems to be one of the more discussed men’s releases from Vince Camuto (more popular than the original Oud, even), a brand that I had not tried previously. It hints at oud without being very animalic and certainly without being medicinal, a sort of sharp, semi-tangy leather at the center, along with the smoky nuances referenced in the name and fruitfully juniper/rose mix and a sweeter base of resins and tonka. Overall, it performs very well and appropriately feels like a masculine option for the cold weather, with some enjoyable sweet hints to counter the semi-sharp, resinous, oudy, semi-animalic aspects. It’s not boundary-pushing within the context of modern, somewhat mainstream offerings for men, but it’s still interesting, and at grey market pricing, a real bargain. I purchased the 100ml EDT bottle at FragranceNet for $44, though it seems to be frequently sold out via that website as it is currently both at FragranceNet and FragranceBuy.CA. I love it and it’s an easy winner for me, something I could surely wear every day in the colder weather. 8 out of 10

I can see why this is being hyped up. The rose is beautiful - candy like. The oud is soft - but definitely there. It definitely reminds me of niche offerings - and for a fraction of the price. It has a similar vibe to something like dsquared potion black - but with a lighter, sweeter rose. It’s a lovely cool/cold weather scent - and could easily be a staple in your collection. Highly recommended! **EDIT** A commenter above brings up a good point - “no cinnamon in the notes” - having watched and read a few reviews, I’ve heard serveral people bring up the “cinnamon” type smel. I do not perceive cinnamon whatsoever. I think type of rose is to blame for the cinnamon effect. It is a sweet/jammy rose - and when paired with a slightly sour oud, I can see how it would come off as cinnamon. But to me it’s the rose playing games with the oud. Anyway - just thought I’d clarify. 7/10

This fragrance is unreal. I'm so glad I snagged a bottle before prices got crazy because I'd be going out of my mind. I was initially looking for a smoky fragrance, but this ended up being better than anything I thought I wanted — the smokiness is not the main note but rather complements the beautiful oud/rose combo along with the rest of the more subtle incense and herbal notes. Perfectly blended. Perfectly unisex. Although not typical notes you might see on fragrantica, I get hints of red wine (the davana, I believe) and the sweetness of honey — not a sugary gourmand note, more like a beeswax candle. Neither thick/cloying nor overtly fresh. Very wearable. The drydown is amber, but still with traces of the heart. I fear nothing will beat this rose/oud for me, really really special.

This stuff is unlike anything in my 300 plus bottle collection. A true and unique Gem. Fits easily in my top 10. However the performance just like most other VC scents leaves much to be desired. It projects for the first hour and a half and then becomes a skin scent from that point on. Which is an absolute shame because of how unique the scent is. The Juniper, Rose and Incense make for a fabulous combo. If you're a true Oud fan, then this may not be what you're expecting. I had an HVAC guy look at my AC unit the other day and we got to talking fragrances. Turns out hes a fraghead. He smelled this and instantly took to the internet to find a bottle. Luckily for me I bought two at the perfumania years ago.

3 weeks into owning this and this thing has grown on me well. Like another reviewer said, its a sophisticated scent. Its playful in its sweetness but the incense, oud and smoke make it a mature scent. You need to have a certain personality (and balls) to carry this off. The scent bubble after 3-4 hours is wonderful and takes you to a happy place. Highly recommended but this is NOT a blind buy. This is my first purchase from the VC house and I look forward to trying out the rest of their range.

Beautiful scent, did a little research into the house of VC. Everything leans to the house not being one with great performance, uninspired. Then I looked into some presumably fall frags and Smoked Oud looked interesting. The reviews also state this has power and niche quality. I pulled the trigger and it truly is an incredible scent. Smoked roses and amber. This is the stuff for date night!

This was a blind buy for me. I owned two other Camuto fragrances and am a huge fan of oud so I took a chance. Turns out it was a good shot. Smoked Oud should really be called fruity oud. However, its definitely a winner. Moderate longevity and projection. To boost both factors, I like to layer Smoked Oud with Versace Pour Homme Oud Noir. Yall can thank me later.

This is by no means a feminine perfume. I suppose it could be worn by a woman on some occasions but looking at it as more masculine would be the best bet. SO is smokey, oud and I am not sure how they pull this off but a full out blended smokey rose that enhances the masculinity of this fragrance significantly. It is in my regular rotation.

Delicious and so beautiful. I'm a woman and I love it. Wearing a decant. Smokey, rose, oud...dries down quickly to a sweet, dry tobacco. Only complaint is...not much longevity at all. Dries down much too quickly...goes through the top, mid, and base in like 15 minutes and then a dry, dusty, tobacco-rose. Would love to smell this on a man.

Those comparing Liquides Imaginaires Bloody Wood to this are dead wrong. The comparison is not even in the same sport. Smoked Oud maintains a sweet and spicy wood note while Bloody Wood holds fast to the velvety and incensed boozy wood note. I love what Vince Camuto did with this, but its counterpart is also something to be celebrated.

I just got my bottle of Amouage Intimate Man and holy smokes it smells reeeeeeeeally damn close to Vince Camuto's Smoked Oud. Clearly the Amouage has higher quality ingredients but the dry down is really close to Smoked Oud.

Manly and powerful but very wearable oud. It's sweetened by dried fruits, rose and tonka, besides being resinous, dark and smoky. It's neither barnyard nor medicinal. I like it and recommend it!

Instant love on first sniff and worth the blind buy. I don't see the smoke note but the Rose is unique and stands out from others. I feel there's strong guava note that's not listed.

Rich, sophisticated, deliciously smokey. Absolutely love it!

Spicy, rosey, ambery incense. Smoked Oud fails to deliver on the oud promise but it delivers, nonetheless, a decent scent. The smell is oriental (Indian, cinnamon-like) spices with rosey amber/incense. There is a noticeable a dried fruit-like accord to Smoked Oud: dusty, fruity, old. That accord reminds me of Tobacco Vanille's dried fruit note. The final scent is a spicy rosey scent on a woody background. Smoked Oud is beautiful, Arabic, exotic, & not a common scent. However, I'm left severely disappointed because of the complete lack of delivery on the "smoke & oud" promise. Still hunting for the fragrance myth; the fragrance that smells like burnt agarwood. Mature/cool weather wear. Big "Like"

This is amber done right! This is by name an oud fragrance, but the most dominant notes I pick up are a honeyed amber and a touch of smoked rose. Ambers -- especially below a certain price point -- can tend to get a bit clumsy and "cologney," but this one stops well short of that, bringing a sweetness that is welcome here. Oud and spice are in there, but really more as support for the more dominant notes. This is neither very smoky nor very oudy, but nevertheless it's a very nice and fairly unique scent that is more likely than not to be received well by others. Too early to tell what I make of longevity, but the projection seems moderate to me -- about arm's length. I like it.

My two cents. I do smell the oud and smoke with the dominating rose. It's a darker sweet syrupy rose as appose to the light fresh rose in the likes of Declaration d'Un Soir. Smelling it closely can detect other ingredients. This is nice, more complex than the typical fragrance. I can see how some say smells like cinnamon candy. Heavy rose.

"Smoked Rose" would be a more appropriate name. This is very much a rose fragrance. There might be some oud in the dry down, but even then, mostly rose. I was expecting something smokier and oudier. Maybe it'll grow on me. In the meantime, I do like it, I just don't love it.

This is a fragrance that I forgot that I had. It's a great, cheap fragrance if you're looking to buy for under $50. I get a huge blast of smoky juniper berry with some light rosy undertones. I can smell the oud, but I mainly get the spicy, smoky juniper.

Discovered this in the outlet stores & initially loved Smoked Oud, Had to buy it right away...there's something very appealing about the smokey unique scent. Once I had it home, it's been one I've really tried to like, but keep pushing aside. I'm not one for Rose scents, and although I didn't notice it on test strips in the store as much, the rose is really standing out. Not one I have received any compliments while wearing. Honestly I doubt I keep this bottle, will likely re-gift it to someone.

This is an absolutely stunning fragrance. Out the bottle it is amazing and you want to sniff the bottle all day. If they could figure out how to make this into an EDP with a lot better performance this would be amazing. As it stands, its performance is underwhelming. The notes in this are truly amazing and the combinations are great - smokey, cinnamon, spicy with a touch of uncommon oud! The tonka , spices, smoked rose all wear well together. The powdery scent in the background keeps it all nested so well. Definitely recommend a decant but not a full bottle. I have a warm body so I get a little over 4 hours of projection and then it just fades very quickly. Although I am a 4 sprayer max. Maybe 10 sprays and the concrete and canvas primer may get you up to 8 hours with this. If the chemistry is right for your body , this is a winner but needs work with performance.

Very nice rose Oud ... great bang for the buck! Although nothing listed leans boozy , I get a lot of boozyness throughout , could be the one green note .. artemisia/ throwing my nose off 🤷♂️. This is fun and mature, easy to go nose blind with this one .... but it hangs around, smell your laundry tomorrow! Synthetic... but hard to tell , the Oud is sizzling/ bubbling if that makes any sense

All the notes together smell of sweet cinnamon. Just like a hand full of those little red hot heart candies that I used to eat as a child. It comes across much sweeter that most Ouds do on the market. But of course this can change with the right body chemistry, since some people's skin kills sweetness where other's amplify...

So yeah, the dominant accord isn't oud, but spice and rose. Others are saying cinnamon but to me it's rendering as clove. Pretty good actually. Not a generic buzzy western Oud like the first one from Camuto

A black-and-white Bella Lugosi film in a bottle. Old school charming, but dark and cold. Reserved only for the 40 and up man who knows what he likes and what he's doing.

I could very well love this, If Longevity is not that Poor! After 1 hour i need to put my nose on my cloths to see if there is anything left.

this is a great fragrance. Better then the regular oud by vince c. Its stronger and bolder and sexier.
