Vince Camuto Oud

There is something simplistic about this fragrance. It is unapologetically masculine. Makes me think of all the wonderful camping trips my husband and I used to take. We like to camp in the fall when the night are cold and cuddling by the camp fire is the best way to keep warm. And cuddling might be the only way for people to smell this scent on another. There isnt any projection. But when I hug my husband and smell it on him I can't help but hold him a little longer.

Floffles, so you hate oud fragrances...yet, you go out-of-your-way to bash Vince Camuto Oud and bitch how much "I HATE OUD." What the hell is wrong with you? And why are you wasting everyone's time with your nonsensical anti-oud rant? Solution: if you don't like oud then don't try oud fragrances. Personally, I HATE FRAGRANCE TROLLS!!! You added absolutely nothing of value to this review forum.

I really like this fragrance, once the I ital blast from the opening starts drying down there are a lot of notes at play. One note that is listed on the retailer website that is not listed on fragrantanica is the coffee absolute. I really pick up the coffee and oud. They really seem play nicly with Amber and sandlewood base. Great price at discounters.

I’ve had this for about a week. I’m really surprised more people don’t speak of this scent. I really enjoy it. I found mine for less than $50. For that price, it’s close enough, for my untrained nose, to Tom Ford’s Oud Wood. Looking forward to wearing this a lot this fall and winter.

Just got this scent, its perfect. It definitely relates to Versace Oud Noir and Tom Ford Oud Wood. So you get the idea. This one has some soft spices and leather note that makes it very versatile for an oud frag.

First impression for me is that this sits at the intersection of Bentley Intense and Halston Man Amber. It seems to me a slightly boozy, lightly spiced oud-amber-cedar that doesn't go anywhere near medicinal or barnyard oud. As others have said, this is a good, safe bet for a first introduction to oud scents. Good and versatile at that. UPDATE: This is basically a dumbed down, watered down clone of the whole Oud Wood/Oud Noir take on clean oud/cedar and cardamom. The basic difference is this one is cheaper (a LOT cheaper than OW) is super polite and lasts about 1/5 as long. It does not smell bad at all -- quite the contrary. It just doesn't perform, nor does it challenge in any way. We don't sport the oud when we're looking to blend in... This... just kinda blends in.

I recently tried a sample of Vince Camuto Oud because I like oud / agarwood scents, both cologne and incense. When I first spray this, I get a strong feminine, maybe floral scent that quickly changes to oud and then to cedar. I love it. This cologne has more cedar fragrance than anything else I've tried. On me, it's mild to strong and the oud and cedar lasts a very long time. I've tried others that I liked but lingered so long it made it too much scent to the point I couldn't use it anymore. I hope that doesn't happen with this as I'm planning on buying a full size bottle as soon as I use up the sample.

Update 4/17 - My initial review of this having absolutely zero projection was a little too dramatic. After using again, it’s still subtle but does project for a couple hours. Who knows.. Mabey my sinuses were stuffy that day....? I do agree agree with the lonely sole who voted this similar to JV Dark Rebel. Although this is less sweet and more dry.

Just sampled it locally and am surprised at how little love this one gets. I think its nice, classy and definitely mature. An oud dominant leather, with decent amount of rum (missing on here, but is noticeable and is on the other sites for notes list), and a little piquant pepper and dusty saffron. Enjoyed it and would at least sample it again.

I had this for a short period. It’s a nice woody scent for sure that’s blended well. To me it’s basically a semi-smoky spicy cedar scent with a hint of very mild oud. The only thing bad about this scent is that it’s soo soft and subtle and has absolutely no projection. It becomes a skin scent instantly.

This is an easy oud fragrance to like—mild and inoffensive. Good for those new to oud. Problem on me is its longevity is less than an hour and it’s gone. Don’t they test these out on people before they go to market to see how things perform? Nice fragrance.....for a few minutes. Disappointed.

there's some oud, a little cedar...and then nothing else comes up to the surface. I must say I'm very disappointed with this fragrance. It just doesn't seem to have any wow factor. Here's hoping the cool months bring out the excitement. I bought on impulse as soon as I found it. Not a wise choice, especially given the price.

Vince Camuto Oud. To me this is a brown leather jacket, sure that’s what I was wearing when I first tried it and the perception that the bottle is giving off goes a long way. Either way this is one of the rare occasions where the simplicity of the bottle matches the perfume itself. It is also to me Christmas or at least early-mid winter. Not that this has all the spices or balsamic warmth associated with such fragrances. This is a different holiday season. It’s a Christmas where your life is on the verge of something new. You have all of the familiarity with the typical holiday season but something has changed this go around in a monumental way taking old familiarities and turning them into something new. Again I may be alone in this because I wore this mostly after my engagement to my now wife. Yet even as I smell this now I can’t help but be transported by the deep woodiness of this fragrance and being surrounded by a forest of warm white lights and crisp air. All in that brown leather jacket. The longevity and projection are neither terrible nor beastly, but falls into a category that I would define as “appropriate”. Try it as a beginner oud in winter time and I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

My first Vince Camuto fragrance. The smell exceeded my expectations. A good introduction to oud as many have stated. This is westernized, 'designer' oud; nothing funky or gross smelling. This is pleasant and enjoyable to wear. I wear it mostly at night, before going to bed. 'Safe' to wear, even in close quarters. Vince Camuto Oud and Floris Leather Oud are in a similar realm, they are just at different stages in life. Camuto is lighter and more youthful. Floris is elegant, mature, and refined. They are 'masculine', and also 'pretty'. Both are great. It may be (slightly) redundant to own both, but oh well. Floris definitely gets an edge for their beautiful packaging and presentation, but for $30-something for a tester bottle, Vince Camuto Oud was well worth it.

This is a very good, affordable spin on the "clean Oud" approach of Oud Wood. My impressionistic take on Oud Wood has always been that of being in a stainless steel hallway in a sci fi movie, my lungs filled with the chilly, immaculately filtered air as it's pulled out of the habitat into the void of space. This one is nowhere near as austere. It has some moderating sweetness from the amber and feels more floral than OW, but the similarity is unmistakable. OW is not a challenging wear, but this is a much more mass-appealing take on it.

The initial waft of Vince Camuto oud is mesmerizing. It's a good leathery, woody scent that is mature and masculine. But, it's very subtle. Almost weak. It sits very close to the skin and does not project very well for very long. Overall an enjoyable scent.
