Urbane

I wasn't impressed at first spray, getting an odd, almost candy sweetness and comparisons to Tygar (with a much more subdued grapefruit). On my first full wearing, I'm wondering what exactly I didn't like about the first spray. I still find it slightly sweeter than I would have expected, but more of a bitter citrus sweetness. Like an extremely pleasant yellow starburst gin drink. I'm also picking up a lot of Ormonde Jayne Montabaco . Was not expecting that! But it feels like a smoother, fresher, sweeter/fruitier, more accessible Montabaco. I say this as a huge fan of Montabaco (especially Intensivo and Extreme) and most things Geza Schoen. If you like Montabaco but find it a little too weird or harsh/pungent, you may like this, especially if you like the whole Tygar/Afternoon Swim thing. It really streamlines what is memorable about Montabaco without making it boring. I found Montabaco Verano a bit uninspired, so I'm happy to have something that feels like a fresh take on an old favorite

This smells very, very similar to Remember Me from Jovoy - even including that lovely light lactonic note. This is a love from me because I love that Jovoy scent too.

My final of the initial catalogue of eleven perfumes from Vivamor Parfums is Urbane, an aptly-named sophisticated fresh blend of citruses, pink pepper, gin, lavender, and cardamom. In the rest of the Vivamor and Navitus catalogues, it reminds me most of Navitus Petit Matin but it’s still quite different from the freshies in either line, and therefore adds some diversity to both lines. There’s very effective parity between the citruses and the lavender, gin, cardamom, and pink pepper. It’s just the right amount of spicy, sharp, and floral to pair effectively with the fresh citrus elements, over a standard woody base. It’s easy likable, smells sophisticated, and feels quite versatile. Like the rest of the line, Urbane is priced at $155 for 100ml and is in extrait concentration, sold not only via the house website but also Perfumology. It performs well, albeit not quite as well as some of the darker, more wintery / gourmand concoctions in the house, but very well for a freshie. Overall, it’s among my favorite freshies in the Vivamor / Navitus world. 7 out of 10

Very good very nice This is such a hot day/warm night casual wearing scent you get this mass pleasing bright well blended summer bomb and the gin cocktail aspect belongs on a hot beach (holiday scent approved) one of bangers in this house

Smells like a very cliché men's office scent.

Got this in a sampler set. To start with the pros, 2 sprays of this Extrait de Parfum wafts off of my chest and shirt for a solid 6-7 hours, so props there. And it is unique. Unfortunately, the cons are more numerous. The few YouTubers who reviewed this described this as a citrus freshie, but I think this is because it lists 4 different citrus elements. I get none of that. The opening is dominated by a turpentine-like chemical smell that dominates everything. At the half hour mark, the turpentine has stepped back into a general petroleum product scent, along with an odd and off-putting butterscotch, cumin, spoiled yellow floral accord. If that sounds unappetizing, you are correct. At the four hour mark, the petroleum parts have left the scene, but too little, too late, as the spoiled floral/butterscotch accord/cumin accord has only improved a little bit. Maybe this has a lot of natural botanicals, and in the 9 months since I received it they have turned; but if so, that doesn't say a lot for how a full bottle kept for years will age. I like Steven's channel, I appreciate the Extrait-level offerings, and the price for this level of concentration would be quite reasonable if this actually smelled like something that I would want to wear, but this one misses the mark by a pretty wide margin. I have another 15 or so to go, so here's hoping.
