Boudoir 2025

I found out they had brought this back last week by a fluke. I was on the Westwood site looking at bags and couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this perfume in stock. For the last several years, I have been emailing Westwood at least once a year begging them to bring back Boudoir. I wrote to them in 2025 to tell them of my desperation to be reunited with the greatest perfume ever put into production—they must've finally listened to me! Hurrah! I saw the perfume online and noticed that it was now classed as a unisex fragrance. They had the 50ml and 30ml in stock but, before I purchased, I reached out to VW and asked: is it the same as the original? They told me they had updated it for a 2026 version and it was slightly different. I went back online the next day to get the 50ml, but it was all gone; there was only the 30ml left, though they do have 50ml stock in the flagship store. I ordered my perfume on Friday afternoon and was on tenterhooks until they dispatched it. They don't dispatch over the weekend, so I was twiddling my thumbs until Monday morning when it was posted first thing. I had it by Tuesday. I sat with the box unopened for at least an hour. I wanted to save the unboxing until all my chores were done so I could savour the moment. When I finally opened that lid and smelled the spray top, I melted! Straight away, the top note was old Boudoir. I didn't doubt for a second that it would smell any different—but I was wrong. My Review On the first spray, the iconic 1998 Boudoir was there in all its glory. I thought to myself, "Why are all the reviewers saying this is so different?" This smells exactly like the original." Well, I was wrong and right at the same time. While the original fragrance was definitely the top player, the middle layer shocked me. I kid you not, I got a heavy fecal smell—a skanky, dirty layer. I was quite disgusted for a moment, but then it hit me: a carnal smell, the kind you only get when you have been intimate with someone, the most intimate you can get with a man and a women. My heart started beating! I’m not joking; my body went into shock after I sprayed her. I got a surge of adrenaline and endorphins that stopped me in my tracks. Even though the perfume is very different, the top layer is purely old Boudoir. I missed her so much; I'm so grateful she has been brought back. I literally got emotional—really emotional—thinking of all the times I missed her; all the times she wasn't with me during my walk, my talk, my memories, and my story. My life hasn't been the same during these last seven years without her. I missed you so intensely, how could I not just adore this? That skanky smell I love is pure animalic magic. There is a slight greenery, though I'm not getting this as prolifically as other people. The carnation is there; I am a carnation lover, so I really do smell it. Once the middle and base notes settle, I just smell the original Boudoir. I sprayed her when I got her, I sprayed her when I went out to see how it would react on my body throughout the day, and I sprayed her before bed. I could still smell her the next morning, so the longevity is there. This is glorious. This is more than glorious. This is the essence of the human body in every single way: sweat, blood, tears, sex, lust, and love all rolled into one. This is sexy as hell. I’m even questioning if I like this more than the original. "Bravo to the perfumer! Bravo to the team at VW for bringing this back and taking the risk of updating this perfume. You did not alienate me for one second—and I am the self-proclaimed number one Vivienne Westwood Boudoir wearer of all time!"

I just got hold of the new version and the opening smells like the later Coty version of the original but now it's been on a few hours, the old Boudoir is in there, less warm and musky but it's very good and I'm pleased to have it. I hope it's going to be available permanently. I have all the dupes as well as a stockpile of the original, I'm not getting any of the dupes in it, it's definitely better than those and far closer to how Boudoir should be.

Purchased at Vivienne Westwood Los Angeles, after waiting in line for about a half hour to enter the boutique. I have not sampled the original, and love this one. I have searched for a wearable carnation forward scent and this one delivers, with such an edible tobacco and good longevity. Floral and soft but not cloying or weak. Teasing, edgy, cool, chic, and reminiscent of vintage 90s club to pub hopping,

I’m still dying to get my hands on the OG. However. I was so pleasantly surprised with the way my skin ph loved this one! It’s spicy, powdery, and sexy. Unfortunately not as mischievous as I’d like. But the spirit is there. This is going to be my signature until I can get my paws on a vintage bottle!

I do love this! I haven’t had the chance to compare it to the older version, but this new Boudoir is absolutely gorgeous – modern yet elegant. Personally, I just wish it had a bit more oomph in the powder notes. It's sad to read Boudoir fans feel it’s not a true representation of the older version.

Yesterday, a newsletter came saying that Boudoir 2025 is available on the website. I ordered it right away, and now I’m worried. I found a review saying that they’re not as powdery as before, but overall more green. I’m curious to see what it will actually be like.

@Kikibb, did you get it from a VW boutique? I asked them if it would be available online in the UK and they said no, I'm hoping it'll find its way to some other points of sale.

I would give this 5 stars solely for the fact that the brand listened and brought back this much beloved gem. Well done! I hope more will follow.

I just got it online, finally available for shipping within Europe. Smells like piss and Chanel N5 all together, very Vivienne Westwood tbh :D

I just received my bottle today! It was honestly really pretty and interesting. Here are the notes: Aldehydes, Bergamot,Orange Blossom, Damask Rose, Carnation, Vanilla, Tobacco Leaf, and Sandalwood. The beginning notes were VERY clean. It was very obviously a mix of greenery. The opening was a strong scent of Bergamot and Orange Blossom, it settles into a warm (unsweetened) Rose and the spicy powdery Carnation, and finally it sits intimately close to the skin with the sweet smell of Vanilla and Sandalwood, with the slightest powder note. I personally loved the first spritz, the bergamot was intoxicating. The middle notes I'm mixed on (possibly on my skin chemistry) it was *almost* animalistic--- borderline civet (which I dislike), but it never got *truly* stanky. I'm curious as to what was the animalistic note is. The Damask Rose is rich but not sweet like most roses, and the Carnation adds a powdery spice. The middle is surprisingly not sweet at all. The ending however, is. It definitely mellows out at the end, the vanilla being the heaviest note. I'm curious to see how this will be layered with another fragrance.

Just walked into VW store, sprayed my wrist with a new one and the other wrist with my vintage original Boudoir. Well, well. New version is definately Vivienne minus sex, sweat and "Oh & Ah". It is much lighter, designed for the modern generation that used to giving a written concent to having sex. Lol. Christian Calabro removed raw sex from the original and packaged it , like everything in this modern world, as a "Unisex". I can't imagine a real man wearing this baby in pink. It is much more powdery than the original. But the bones of the Boudoir is still there. If you love the original, and you miss it, i recommend you buy a new version rather than buying dupes. I liked it so got myself a bottle. -Keep

She is definitely in there, it's crazy to smell it again after so many years. But I agree with the other reviews, this is a more modern version and she is further down the family tree but still very recognizable and bold. Just more fresh and not dated. I am enjoying it. I think if they stuck with the original, it would be too vintage for our current times. Also, this stuff is still strong and has decent projection

The way my heart started racing, when I saw this.. I had no idea they brought it back! Quickest purchase of my life. Don’t get me started on the bottle design!!

I was so excited to have my all time favourite perfume available again, I’d been checking the website daily and ordered it as soon as it was available. I’ve been wearing it a few days now and honestly, I’m disappointed. On initial application it’s strong, almost too much, but it settles quite quickly and develops some of the powdery notes of the original but by the time it does so the scent is very subtle. After a few hours I can’t smell it on my skin at all. The old boudoir used to last all day and you would only need one or two sprays for it to be noticeable. This version all but disappears quickly. I have a tiny amount of the old version left and this one does smell somewhat alike, but there is definitely something missing. The new one just doesn’t have that womanly depth of the old one and just doesn’t feel anywhere near as unique or luxurious.

As a Vivienne Westwood collector, I couldn't resist adding the new Boudoir to my collection🖤. Unfortunately, the fragrance itself wasn't for me. I was hoping for a richer, spicier interpretation, but instead I find it too camphoraceous, and it actually gives me a headache. That said, I'm still happy to own it. The bottle is absolutely beautiful and makes a stunning addition to my Vivienne Westwood collection🪐.

To me, this new iteration wears like Fracas - which I never got along with. The high, sweet floral is dominated by damask rose and carnation as you remember from Boudoir; both honeyed, with sweet clove-like spice, but there's also a jasmine/ylang ylang note that's cloyingly unpleasant. It reminds me of budget massage oil, honestly. The powdery, spicy dry down is virtually lost. Vanilla on the back end is sweet, rather than creamy. I agree with @Mist Whispers that it has a courseness now. Such a shame and not for me. I'm genuinely surprised by the reviews I've read that say it smells 'just the same'.

My bottle is here (love that they shipped within two hours of purchase) It’s definitely Boudoir, but a younger sister to the original. It’s still got that dirty dna, and I would say I’m happy with it and looking forward to using this in the coming days, but it’s a instant happiness of having something you’ve waited for and I don’t feel any disappointment with it. to anyone on the VW team reading: can we get this to neimans or dillards or something? how are we to test when theres only two US mainland boutiques... im still getting to know it, because its 100 degrees for the week and i want to try again when its autumn at least . first spray im like holy organza.... the green notes i assume is the mimicry of narcissus from the original, thats what i smell at top . not really aldehydes, theres citrus in small amounts . i sense more rose over carnation, theres jasmine too, but softly in and out . the base is airy and sweet, simple but uncommon enough . the day it arrived, a friend invited to to karaoke and i chose this to wear . this is one hell of an icebreaker ill say that! i do desire a vintage bottle though, because this feels sexy, but cut and dry and not too much to think about . im keeping it though, ill give my organza to a friend . the cap is gold just so y’know .

Sprayed it yesterday in VW boutique and felt immediately something wasn't right. I took my paper strip home and sprayed my sample (second reform, i believe, not OG lancaster one) on the second paper just to compare. I have a strong suspicion that it's a dose of cashmeran is the culprit in my case, it makes the texture not silky smooth, but somewhat coarse and hurts my nostrils inside when i breathe it in deep. EDIT: tested it again 2 months ago and fell in love with it! This time I found it smoother, richer and more complex. Could be the case of testers "maturing" a bit on the shelves. Just sprayed it on my skin 2 months since I first opened my bottle and got so much cinnamon and clove, made me think of cola bottles jelly sweets. It's going to be beautiful for October days! Excellent reformulation!

A lighter and fresher version of the original. Just tried this at the flag shop store. It is strong on the skin and I’m seeing how long this lasts for. If you craved the heady animalic musky notes then you will be disappointed. Also it’s not powdery and more green. It’s no different from the Eden dupe in my opinion. I couldn’t tell that much of a difference between the two. Maybe the boudoir 2025 is more sharper in florals. Update after almost an hour..... strong on skin with very sharp floral notes as before.. no warmer notes and sillage is moderate but I cannot smell it lingering on me. Probably as I have too many perfumes on!!!! Definitely not as potent as the original.

Are my eyes (and nose ) deceiving me!! I was just walking alone Rue st Honoré and enjoying the windows when lo and behold in La vitrine of Vivienne Westwood is a bottle labelled Boudoir, but not like the old flanker. What is this? Anyways i went inside excited i could burst at the sees because I’ve been hunting a bottle of the original FOREVER! And have only smelts bits from a finishing bottle. O sprayed and tested this new 2026 version on paper and was so underwhelmed.... Why was the hype about?? I then decided to spray on hand... I’m smelling a floral and metallic mix of something ... not very strong and not very sure I like it 😂😂

i bought this a few days ago. “the boudoir perfume is made from bergamot, orange blossom and carnation with a base of vanilla and tabacco leaf with a hint of sandlewood” im not sure why on here it says it’s more for men its definitely a mature ladies perfumes but anyone can wear it it’s up to you! the scent is beautiful and i’d say it’s almost exactly the same as the original on my skin i can smell it all day :) it’s £105 which i think is a fair price compared to what resellers want and how high demand it is

This page needs to be fixed with accords/notes. That having been said, my bottle arrived and I am wearing it now. I will evaluate over a number of wearings and over time for each wearing. I do not have an original and I do not recall ever smelling the original, so that comparison cannot be made (but I am skeptical of recollections of how a scent smelled years ago, because contexts and noses - covid - change).

The Original Boudoir was an incredible refined, animalic, ultra feminine sexual scent, powdery and intoxicating but not in a loud way, massive longevity and scented clothes survived the washing machine too. I am waiting for "Boudoir Extrait" which will probably launch as the real-deal... until that Unicorn Day... my purse remains closed.

Formula is different, similar vibe but more floral and modern. Which is to be expected because the original is over 20 years old and contains outlawed ingredients. Bottle is beautiful! 110£ if you are in the UK, currently only at VW boutiques in Europe I believe.

Looking at the original notes, it does not seem to include any ingredients now limited or prohibited. Hopefully they will be able to do new batches 100% accurate and faithful to the original.

$130 on the US site... shipping, tax, and duties bumped it up to $218.65 for a 50ml. Decided I don't need it that badly, I still have some vintage bottles.

This new release was a great pleasant surprise 🫢 I do appreciate the release of its new edition but I would personally stick to the vintage edition 💋
