Flux

Flux by @vocedisensi Flux is exactly what I hoped for and more. This is summer in a bottle pure and simple. The opening hits with bright pink pepper mandarin and grapefruit but on my skin that grapefruit turns deliciously salty sun warmed and mineral rich like fresh air off the coast. It is vibrant and crisp but never loud or in your face just clean and alive right from the first spray. As it settles the heart comes through perfectly. Green notes mix with soft amber and a subtle touch of leather giving it the most solid earthy depth. It feels grounded natural and effortlessly masculine nothing sharp or rough here just a smooth balanced character that feels right. The clean musk running through the middle keeps it fresh and easy never heavy or complicated. I honestly expected something loud and obnoxious but Flux is the complete opposite. It is incredibly smooth refined and modern in every way. It wears like a dream soft and polished yet full of presence. This is the ultimate daily driver built for every summer day and every part of your routine. It does not shout to get attention it just feels right I have been wearing it non stop even to the gym and that is where it shines. Add a little body heat and it turns into absolute magic. The base unfolds beautifully rich sandalwood and vetiver blend with warm amber and soft white musk creating a smooth clean trail that smells fresh expensive and unmistakably masculine without ever trying too hard. Flux is smooth reliable and perfectly composed. Bright enough for the sun deep enough to feel substantial and easy enough to wear anywhere. This is modern summer masculinity bottled up fresh earthy and unforgettable.

If someone asked me to describe the summer days using a scent, I would probably use Flux as one of the main examples. It’s simple, yet complex. Juicy, but dry. Earthy, yet full of life. I believe it got a few stories to tell. The fragrance opens with an entanglement of Cedarwood, a touch of Mandarin, Pink Pepper and the most important - what seems to be a big chunk of Grapefruit stripped of any sort of bitterness. It’s almost like the body of the fruit has been discarded and only the essence of the Grapefruit has been kept. Which I enjoy, as I do not want my fragrance to be too fruity or “meaty” in any way. As the scent develops, the texture gets fluffy and heavy at the same time. It spreads across the room, yet it only finds you when you’re not looking for it. And that is the heavy dose of Musk used in the heart. Touches of Leather introduce themselves occasionally, giving the whole olfactory experience a Suede like feel, rather than smooth leather. The base has got to be my favourite part of all - Like we have spoken, the performance is there. And if you’re telling me that Sandalwood is the main element in the base, then you’ve got a winner in my books. Top that with some dried Vetiver and you’re in for an unusual win.
