Voice From The Sky 天乐

Finally, this brand has had its space on fragrantica. It's an immense pleasure for me. I met Tianle, the nose of the Chinese brand Voice from the sky and his lovely wife Wendy, last year at Esxence, in Milan. He didn't have its own stand and, while we were drinking a couple of bottles as aperitif, together with other people from fragrantica's community, we started to talk with them, intrigued by the samples and these packs that we hadn't seen at the fair. They welcomed us with great courtesy, education and that hint of shyness typical of many Chinese, to proudly tell us something about their creations. Until last year, the brand was not yet distributed outside China (I don't know now), but in 2022 it received a nomination at the A&O (the Oscars of niche perfumery). The perfumes that Tianle told us about are inspired by significant moments in his life: The first hug with the one who would become his wife (First hug); The first time he touched his daughter's skin (First touch); A safari in Africa that filled him with wonder, when he saw the same lion first hunting a zebra, proving to be the king of the savannah, and then falling asleep peacefully next to another zebra (Gentle King); The tension he feels between a religious education he renounces in adulthood, in favor of rationality and the intimate need to have faith in something (Voice from the sky). It was a beautiful moment of meeting between distant cultures, with the magic of perfumes completely canceling the distance. They were really kind to give us some samples. My favorite of all was Voice from the sky, a beautiful liturgical, amber, green and aromatic incense. Embarrassed (absurd yes, really embarrassed) by not having a sample of it to give me, Tianle insisted that I accept the whole bottle. The color of the jus is wonderful by the way. I tried several times to refuse, but in vain. In the end I accepted with pleasure, reciprocating with a bottle of Franciacorta. Among those smelled at that table, only two are present here on fragrantica: Gentle King and Voice From The Sky, the others are missing while I see one, No More Rose, which I had never heard. However, I remember that they were all very valid proposals. I'm happy for them, I hope these guys make their way.
