Love and hate are both powerful emotions. Perhaps the reason love and hate are so closely linked is that the two emotions have many of the same components. Love is an intense, positive feeling for someone or something. Hate is an intense, negative feeling for someone or something. Either way - whether I feel love or hate - I still have feelings for someone or something. You are on my mind. I have feelings for someone or something and I have to deal with my feelings for someone or something. For this reason, the opposite of both love and hate is apathy. I neither love nor hate anyone or anything - I have no feelings at all. What is certain is that Voile Rosé is anything but apathetic. Would you like to know why? Read on and you will find out. Voile Rosé is a fragrance from the oriental family with a floral touch. But what is relevant here is its love-hate feeling, together with a weird powder creaminess, or creamy powderiness, that once it sets in, it never goes away. The essence opening is perturbing, almost off-putting, I would say. The first thing that comes to mind when I smell the opening is the odour of new vinyl records and nail polish. It is harsh, fabricated, and vinyl-like. If I smell it close to my skin, I get the inky and stunning smell of the permanent marker; the thinner odour is on my face. It’s a synthetic smell that slowly transforms into burnt plastic for a while. Better, the smell of warm and moist skin after a sunbath. If I look at the notes in the opening, I should perceive the spicy and pungent sweetness of cinnamon, but alas, it is not what my nose perceives. I don’t know if there are other spices or ingredients in there, though what I catch is not the usual cinnamon bark aroma. Maybe the cinnamon blends with woody cedar and creamy sandal, and who knows what other secret ingredient, creates such a weird nuance. Do I love it or do I hate it? Then something happens. Something miraculous. All that initial hype turns into a creamy, powdery perfume. I recognise the essence of sandalwood mixed with sweet rose petals and a powdery note comparable to the iris root. Not a make-up or lipstick vibe, just a powdery baby talcum feeling. Now the scent is very pleasant, and I seem to perceive something similar to the caramelised notes of the toffee. I’m thrilled. I certainly didn’t expect a change in this sense after such an impetuous opening. The rose is almost gourmand, but not jammy, thanks to the creaminess of the sandal. And I even seem to get a fragrant nuance of white jasmine blossoms. I feel like I’ve just come out of a relaxing hot bath and I’m dousing my body with a generous dose of talcum powder. I think I am falling in love with this one. In the dry-down, the sandal meets the musk and keeps the creaminess to continue its journey. The more it progresses, the more it turns powdery and talcum-like. The woodiness is dry, thanks to the cedar. So, the initial creamy powderiness turns into a woody powderiness. It’s loud and dry; I receive a waft without moving close to my skin, not too sweet, not too floral. Ain’t the classic rose-based fragrance. Instead, the rose provides just a hue of floral. In case all this creaminess and powderiness weren't enough, there is also a generous dose of white musk that instills a sense of candor and cleanliness. A fall, even better winter fragrance, for both days and nights. Both sillage and longevity are average or even above. I catch it many hours later, and the day after on clothes. It’s much powdery, softer and more feminine than I expected. But I’m not sorry at all, indeed. For some of you, it may not feel very pleasant when you smell it straight from the skin, but you find that when you smell it in the air, you will enjoy the fragrance in its full beauty. So I like it, no more doubts, and it’s a unique fragrance in my collection, nothing I’ve ever smelled until now. I’m basing my review and impressions on a bottle I’ve owned since November 2022.

Voile Rose starts out with a woody, dry, sandalwood and cedar, sweetened with rose. Very interesting rose fragrance that dries down to a creamy, musky aspect which brings a makeup or powder room smell. Reminiscent of a blend of Mauboussin Histoire Sensual and L'Ange Noir Givenchy . Very comforting. Quite oily and long lasting. Settles down to smell like the bottle conveys- pink, creamy, opaque and pretty.

When I first sprayed it, it was much more powdery, soft and feminine than I expected. After a couple of minutes it became less powdery and feminine, and the aromatic note that was at first in the background, came out strong. The best way I know to describe it is that it is something herbal. It wasn't very pleasant when I smelled my skin directly, but I came to realize that when I got wafts of it in the air, I did enjoy the fragrance in its totality. So I do like it, and it is a very unique fragrance in my collection. Update: It’s just not pleasant on my skin. My daughter loves it (her favorite actually), and it’s very nice on her, so it’s hers now. For a fragrance to be a success for me, it needs to smell good in the air and on skin , but this one goes sour with my chemistry- not tart, but sour.

Beautiful rose scent, started with dry cinnamon not any bakery connection - just dry and powdery and just like a little bit of saffron. After that coming a hint of sweet. Real pleasure !
