Golden Hour

The best take on durian they could ever do!!! It smells like mango sticky rice with added durian. Creamy, sweet, desserty with a tropical twist. The durian is definitely there but it smells desserty and sweet - the weird note from it is barely felt. Incredible take on a tropical scent, better than anything else ive tried. Soleil de Jeddah Mango Kiss who?

Wait for this one to evolve! The open notes are not great but with five minutes it becomes a sweet sticky rice mango/durian scent that is quite lovely!

The combo of mango sticky rice and durian at the same time is gorgeous. It's a new variety of fruity perfume.

I like each of these notes in fragrances and IRL, I was excited to try it out. The initial and evolution of the scent was consistent for me from testing it as soon as I received it and 2.5 months later. I don't get the pungent durian scent. The initial warm sweetness of rice, sugar, mung, pandan, and mango are noticeable to me. I did reapply two times during a 10 hour day because I enjoy the uniqueness. Dries down to sandalwood, slight sugar, very faint jasmine. I have 3 other Voyager scents, which I enjoy and I also enjoy Siam 1928! Buy again: YES

Opens with a delicious haze of authentic mango and a sweet, creamy heart of milk rice. There’s a whisper of green and with a touch of coconut on the dry down. Much more interesting than the average gourmand. Beautifully smooth and genuine - no trace of synthetics and very wearable. For me the sillage and longevity were moderate, with one spray each to wrists and neck from a sample. Golden Hour is one of my favorites from the set and I think anyone who enjoys mango or mildly sweet rice scents would be happy with it.

i've never smelled durian notes used so tastefully. i found any pungent odor dissipated quickly and all the beautiful, tropical elements of durian that resemble pineapple came through quickly. the mango, coconut and rice scent lasts a good while but i felt the majority of my experience was a pretty standard, metallic sandalwood in the dry down with some creaminess still remaining.

I thought this was going to be bad with the durian but it’s not prominent. This is definitely giving mango rice pudding vibes. Yum!

What in the world are people smelling here in the comments/reviews? Mango and rice pudding, where!? Excuse me? This is straight up gas at the opening and not a pleasant one if you get me. Later on, you start getting a sticky kinda sweet rice note. Jasmine... perhaps but just a bit. This was truly the worst thing I have ever tried from Voyager. Do not blind buy this based on the friendly notes. There’s something truly synthetic and off putting right off the bat.

durian/pandan leaf/mung bean being the actual golden trio in southeast asian fare makes this fragrance the ultimate gourmand for those that partake. for me the flavor combination is giving xôi sầu riêng (durian sticky rice with mung beans served on a bed of pandan leaves). it definitely captures the custard sweetness of perfectly overripe durian, and starchy and sticky sweet rice that’s gotten cold from sitting out too long. it’s got a bit of the grainy and earthy texture of mung bean chunks, and a green quality that reminds me of a bed of green pandan leaves. this is dish that most age ranges can enjoy and is filling, but is most importantly loved by kids so parents don’t have to worry about forcing them to eat. sweet, but not too sweet and a bit dense. the durian is there for sure, at first i get hints of what my farts smell like after demolishing an entire half durian to myself — gassier than i remember the actual fruit being, but likely closer to what most people who don’t like it smell. that goes away pretty fast, and you’re kind of left with a sweet and green pandan leaf. i can kind of see it being mango sticky rice, but more like a ripe tangy mango (with the orange and red flesh) with coconut milk and a few grains of cold and old sticky rice on top. settles into a jasmine rice-sandalwood that’s very pretty... albeit boring but i think that’s what makes golden hour a more wearable fragrance despite the unique opening top notes!!!

At first, it smells like durian. That distinctive gas smell (to be precise, it's a colorless, odorless, tasteless gas with one of the scent elements of durian added to it - mercaptane), and cheesy acids. Then there's a musty, sweet smell reminiscent of stale rice—to me, it has a sandalwood-like nuance. It also smells a bit like a perm agent. The term “mango rice pudding” makes sense. But it's not quite as pleasant as that.

I really wanted to love this. In the decant, it was incredible. I thought to myself, “wow. this is HOT.” Sweet, tropical - think y2k night at the beach. And it dried down to a sticky magazine sample once on me. So disappointed.
