L'échappée Sauvage

Testing this for the first time after just having received a sample. I'm not sure if the Fragrantica note pyramid is correct, but I seem to get more from this than just the notes listed. The opening is definitely quite citrussy as others have commented, but then it transitions into an aromatic fig, herbal, woody phase that at times almost reminds me of classic men's colognes à la Eau Sauvage, and at times (a bit further from the wrist, maybe) like a woody coconut. Not a lactonic coconut like you get with some fig fragrances, but an ever-so-slightly-sweet woody, dry coconut. I once tried these dried, toasted coconut snacks - not like the anaemic dessicated coconut flakes one can get in the UK from the bakery section in the supermarket, but an artisanal brand of high quality toasted coconut chips. This perfume invokes that smell to me. And in a very good way. I suppose it is the fig interacting with the (aromatic, dry) cedar which conjures up this effect. It's lovely. There's some little whiffs of herbs and spices poking through, too. Overall this fragrance is aromatic, woody, soft yet with a clarity and vibrancy. Very impressed with this brand so far.

Appears to me as a two layers structure: creamy one and fresh-herbal-greenny one. At first glance it's very intriguing. The green vibe is so real and the creamy one is so unexpected. Unfortunately, once I stayed with this fragrance for few hours I realised I find it quite dull and, what's even worse, it's giving me a headache. The creamy-sweet part of it. Still, I think I'll give it another try. I believe it can do better.

A weird and flat scent with no lasting power at all. The only impression I get is a green-yellow colour. I might be anosmic to it.

Fresh herbal fig woody fragrance. More for man, and spring to my opinion. 6/10

Smells like a church. Yes, it doesn't make much sense looking at the notes. But still, this is church.

The opening was a lot of citrus, a little too much for me After 20 min or so, it turns creamy, green, and with a little spice in the back I was trying to figure out what the dry down exactly reminded me and its Fantôme from Nose of Gatsby Between the two I would definitely choose Fantôme because I am not a huge fan of the opening *Will do side by side comparison between the two soon

After an hour or so, it becomes insanely similar to Santal Blanc by Van Cleef & Arpels. In both fragrances, the fig note is balancing between "something pickled" and a creamy, not sweet, juicy fig. L'échappée Sauvage has some development (when Santal Blanc is quite linear), but in the start it is quite harsh:(
