I Am Verdant

Living up to its name, I Am Verdant is a beautiful green, aromatic floral. On me it has an aromatherapeutic effect, calming and enlivening at once. Doesn't last well, but that isn't a problem, as it isn't a scent that would work well at a high intensity - much too light and delicate for that. Better to have the pleasure of reapplying regularly and wafting about, enjoying the transient pretty. More nice work from Lyn Harris.

I am a sucker for green perfumes, so this was my second Vyrao to try after Witchy Woo. While I Am Verdant is aptly named, it isn't a worthy alternative to Chanel No. 19 or Estée Lauder Private Collection et al.; instead, it is a light, aromatic freshie with citrus and light woody notes. Pleasant but nothing special, it fades fast. IAV opens with bright, fresh juniper, reminiscent of a gin and tonic, with tart bergamot amping up the radiance. There is some nose-tickling pepper up top too. Sheer and bright, with a nice aromatic undertone, it is uplifting and refreshing, but not the rich green scent I hoped for. As it develops, green-tinged, orange-forward neroli comes to the fore, a nice development from the fresh opening. There is a slight powdery undertone but no perceptible iris note. It becomes lightly earthy and woody as it develops, but this remains subtle. Clean musk creeps in as it dries down with barely-there woodiness perceptible until it fades. Sillage is moderate and longevity is weak. A pleasant unisex freshie that is more citrus than green, IAV is ultimately underwhelming and unmemorable with disappointing performance. Serves its purpose, but nothing special. 2.5/5.

I sprayed it on the paper strip, and it smelled amazing; fresh, juicy and green, just like I wanted! I sprayed[well, actually it was more like (excuse me) spitting lol. The tester was awful, it was faulty or broken] on my arm and I left Selfridges. Unfortunately, the ultra greeness was sort of short lived; it turned rather quickly into an orange blossom-musc skin scent. I'm not sure, I think it's a pass. £135 for 50ml(£270 for 100ml). For this price, I'm much better off getting Cologne Indelible, Neroli Voyage...etc, which are stronger and longer lasting.

Opening greenish and woody I Am Verdant feels typically Lyn Harris: muted, naturalistic, a little soft focus, mossy. I was expecting to see angelica and cedar listed. Instead it's a creamy juniper with some incense bringing the green-blond woodiness, sharpened with pepper. It's even a little grubby — musky and earthy — like you've been rolling around in heather. Both introspective and grounding. A hint of orange blossom appears as it dries and then, after 2 hours, with the juniper fading, I Am Verdant transforms into a soft musk and cyclamen skin scent.

I LOVE the opening of this fragrance - I have been searching for the doppelganger of a green/botanical scent my Mum had in the 90s, however after merely an hr, it was very subtle powdery notes. After the opening has evaporated, I felt it had lost its charm and the rest of the scent pretty much disappeared within a few hours. It also became super soapy after 10 mins and was quite a disappointment if I'm honest as I really like the branding of vyrao...

I really liked this musky, green, fragrance and love the bottle as well. Sadly, it only lasts three hours on my skin. Actually, everything I got in the discovery set only lasted a few hours :/

You can tell it was created by Lyn Harris. No one does realistic garden smells like her! Smells like working in the garden after rain.

Raw, green and invigorating. I think they succeeded with the concept they were going for : transformation and illumination. Now I would be okay with this scent, in fact with almost every scent from this line if it weren’t for the ridiculous prices. I’m trying to understand what would justify the niche price tag. The performance is below average with the projection being close to the skin almost immediately and the scent disappearing in couple hours. This feels more like a hippy (not even indie) aromatherapy spray. Doesn’t feel special enough or truly interesting to me as a perfume. The two scents that caught my attention are actually the two ones that are similar : Georgette and Witchy Woo ; and even those ones are disappointing me with their performances. A shame & missed opportunity. I’ll use my travel spray (mostly as a room spray) and won’t repurchase.

Smells green but I don't smell any juniper. Smells more like wet dirt, wet stems, and flowers. I don't hate it but just different than I expected. Doesn't last very long and is very weak.

Green wellness device. Bergamot, cyclamen, frankincense, juniper: each note assigned an emotional outcome. The prestige vocabulary of autonomous perfumery—perfumer-author, pyramid, absolutes—survives intact, but the aesthetic burden it once carried has been quietly abandoned. Juniper flashes briefly, then dissolves into soft woody diffusion. Beneath the green rhetoric, an anonymous woody-amber structure performs the actual labor. Pleasant, clean, structurally void. Beauty risks rejection; wellness cannot. The thinness is not failure. It is specification. 4/10 Coda. The revised INCI now openly lists Iso E Super, acetyl cedrene, and hexadecanolactone. What was once displaced into symbolic green rhetoric is now stated directly in woody amber syntax. The crystal remains in the bottle.

Smells extremely green, not like a forest, like some nightmarish overgrown scientific conservatory

I do feel calm after spraying this on, and I think the entire line achieves making you feel a certain way when you use them. These are in no way meant to be strong perfumes- I think they may actually have been designed to be a little dimmer and gentler than most you’ll have tried and I think for just the simple reason that they want everyone to be able to wear them. There are some people that are truly sensitive to even most clean brands and I think this is just light enough for those that fall in that category. If you are okay with the gentle silage and short longevity and are mostly looking at these for being moody rings to wear, they’re beautiful. It reminded me most of Dirty Grass or Lit, and I love Dirty Grass more but that’s because a note in this turns soapy after the beginning. It’s what I imagine ferns smelling like, or the stemmy smell of a live plant.

The opening of this is, to me, has a note identical to the Quidditch Field Grass variety of the short-lived Harry Potter Every Scented Markers. I assume it's a fairly cheap synthetic yet effective grass note. It's still pleasant, mingling with a soft citrus edge and a clean dirt earthiness. I was expecting low projection as this is a unisex scent, but so far the longevity is also shockingly weak. An hour later and it may as well have never been there at all. A verdant meadow with ozonic notes and a whisper of spring blooms vanishes into the air. Easy come, easy go I guess.

Juniper, cyclamen and black pepper. It is kind of a green-ish perfume, but it rather reminds me of cut tulip stems - the same way as La Tulipe from Byredo does. It’s a weird scent that I do not think is wearable for me. But people wear La Tulipe, so what do I know :D

Nice and green at the start. Then becomes softer with the orange blossom and citrus coming out. Reminds me of Maison Trudon II. ——————————————— OMG, I just found out that one was also created by Lynn Harris!

Wow. I can't decide whether I love this fragrance because I associate with a location/time, or if it is that unique. It's a nice summertime fragrance.

Don't wear this at airports, you'll be stopped by the guard dogs coz you smell like weed
