Witchy Woo

I bought it on sale, so I got a good deal. First, this is the only perfume where the pure concept and idea attracted me enough to blind buy it. I did read the reviews first and, based on the listed notes and others’ experience, I can say it smells exactly how I expected. I wouldn’t say it’s safe for blind buy, but I was lucky. The card in the packaging and the crystal in the bottle are a very nice touch. Not to mention the beautiful bottle. Now the notes. It opens quite sharply and stays like this during the dry down, leaning slightly towards the musky and powdery side. It’s somehow not too strong and it’s intimate, but if someone is close to you, they will notice it. If I should put it in one word, like many described, it smells predominantly like incense and like a mystery shop. Also to add, I almost never wear anything that has rose in it (long story), but luckily, I don’t feel the rose so much here, probably because the other sharper notes give a stronger impression. The only downside is that for a second I thought it smelled like an expired generic perfume, but as soon as I think about the notes again, that feeling disappears. It’s ok for day and night, but I would avoid it the office if you sit very close to your colleagues. My overall impression is: unisex fragrance that is slightly more feminine, but I wouldn’t mind smelling it on a man. The fragrance is super mysterious and a bit dark and fits perfectly the concept of magic, which is my favorite thing about it. I like it, but I would say that this is one of those perfumes you buy for yourself, intentionally, to enjoy it alone. The Spotify playlist for it is a great touch too. It’s expensive and only safe for BB if you really know how all the notes smell like, plus if it’s with a discount - I recommend. The longevity is not the best, but for me, it’s ok. I will wait to see if it’s a compliment getter, but I did compliment myself already. It’s for a personal and intimate experience.

I had to test out my travel spray of 'Witchy-Woo' at Halloween. Well, it would have been rude not to. :) Do not get much of a rose note, but the spices are front and centre, with a soft powdery and gently floral dry-down that foregrounds the orris root on a pleasant ground of incense and low-key patchouli. This is beautiful, a sort of high-end hippy shop fragrance. I hadn't seen that expression for a long time, and it made me smile to be reminded 'cos there were quite a few hippy shops where I grew up - largely responsible for an early enthusiasm for incense. :) The longevity is somewhat underestimated as I used 'Witchy-Woo' as my bedtime fragrance and it was still wafting about this morning, albeit quite gently. Suits me as the concept of 'beast mode' mystifies. Is that supposed to be good? I am still traumatised by some of the 80s fragrances that could knock a cow over at twenty paces! A bit of subtlety and judicious layering/reapplication never killed anyone.

My favourite witchy perfume to wear working as a professional psychic. I love the whole concept of a herkimer diamond crystal in every bottle to protect the wearer, and amplify the magical properties of the ingredients in the "potion". It's the power in the patchouli, incense and musk for me. Layer with some musk rose essential oil and it will linger a little longer, creating the perfect aesthetic for those of us who love the woo. There may be a good reason this fragrance is so polarising, perfumery is Alchemy afterall...

In a nutshell this potion is absolutely incredible. It has a unique composition insofar I’ve nothing I could compare it too. It’s rich, potent, spicy and a hit of patchouli which I love. I bought it blind based on the notes and I am thrilled. Definitely fb worthy. Divine.

This smells like a witch. It opens with a bomb of spices and a minty lavendel scent. After it settles it smells like sweet spices you might find in incense, sandalwood and mint. The patchouli is also noticeable. It kind of reminds me of cough-syrup, but in a good way.

This is amazing!!! It reminds me of Tom Ford more specifically the underlying notes that can be noticed in many of his fragrances. It is spicy with a subtle mint note that is not medicinal. It is mysterious and so far I enjoy wearing it.

So, I'm not quite sure what to make of this fragrance. There are times I wear it and I love it...there are other times I wear it and it just sorta falls flat. Yes, Witchy Woo has a LOT going on. The first time I smelled this fragrance, I was in love. I purchased a full bottle and about 3/4 through, I'm not so sure this is the fragrance for me. WW definitely starts with lavender, smoke, some incense notes and I suppose a bit of patchouli. There is rose, saffron, pepper, spices and a few other lovely, soft floral notes. At times it appears that all is well and WW blends endlessly and seamlessly...it simply smells divine. There are other occasions when I spray this perfume and I can barely smell it on myself, others around cannot smell it either. During these moments, I may catch the occasional whiff of orris, or musk. Witch Woo is a VERY dry, smoky (but not bleak, or gray) fragrance that continually morphs & changes. Yes, at times it seems almost fizzy and bubblegum-ish on my skin; at other times it seems ethereal, serene and austere. I wouldn't consider this a romantic perfume, nor is it mysterious. In many ways, it just a very odd concoction that seems to continuously change. And with all this said, longevity isn't great, nor is throw & silage. This is not an inexpensive perfume, so there is that factor when considering WW as a "regular" or daily wear. To me, Witch Woo leans feminine. Overall, this is a very nice fragrance. But TBH, I cannot imagine who might want to wear this on any regular basis. The performance and notes are not consistent enough to wear this perfume with confidence. Likable enough but definitely not for everyone, I'd caution against a blind-buy. Try a relatively LARGE sample first, so you can see how WW performs on your skin

Out of the three perfumes I’ve tried so far from Vyrao, Witchy Woo is my favourite without any doubt. I am a patchouli, incense, pepper, cinnamon, fan and in Witchy Woo these intense, darker notes are smoothed out with sandalwood, orris root and rose. I would call this a well rounded perfume. Perfectly unisex and cooler weather appropriate: winter and fall. Out of these three fragrances (The Sixth, Georgette and Witchy Woo) Witchy Woo is probably the most polarising because usually patchouli and carrot seeds are challenging notes for most people. I don’t like carrots seeds personally, and in this perfume is not particularly strong, so I am safe... This perfume represents an interesting take on an incensy, slightly smoky, ambery, warm spicy, patchouli heavy fragrance and I would say it does smells niche, distinctive and pleasant. Some niche fragrances are straight up unwearable IMO! This scent might not be for the girly girls but for people who appreciate darker, deeper, spicier, warm scents. Witchy Woo might sound scary because of the name and the notes listed but I find it super wearable. Yes, it’s spicy, heavy on patchouli, incense and pepper but if you like these notes, give it a try. During a sale preferably, cause this brand is very expensive. I was expecting it to be more long lasting than it is and to have a stronger sillage, but it’s quite a tame one. Overall on the moderate end of performance. So far, the best one I have tried from Vyrao, performance and scent wise! I do like it, I will be using my travel size this upcoming fall but I won't buy the full bottle. I have a big perfume collection and I have already better incense/patchouli/spicy/rose fragrances than Witchy Woo!

Between the name and theme, I have wanted to try Witchy Woo for a long time. Housed in a charming purple glass bottle, it is distinctive and tempting - apt for a scent masquerading as a witch's potion. Complex and hard to categorise, it is a creative and deeply pleasant perfume, bewitching yet grounding. Witchy Woo opens with a surprising lavender note, aromatic and uplifting in the manner of the essential oil. It quickly becomes dry, with earthy patchouli and woody notes creeping in. Sneeze-inducing pepper adds a little spice up top. Powdery, rooty orris follows, but is only one small part of a rich, complex scent, unfortunately for this iris lover. It becomes very earthy, with a carrot seed quality enhancing it. As it develops, smoky incense emerges, making it more dry, adding a balsamic quality to the base. It enhances the woody notes nicely. Rose follows as it develops further, dark and spicy, complemented beautifully by the woody-incense accord. The patchouli remains, keeping things earthy, and smooth sandalwood is evident in the later stages, all serving to complement the rose. It becomes soft and musky as it dries down, with the balsamic incense and soft woody notes remaining. Its earthiness is grounding and restorative during the later stages, like a salve made by a good witch. It fades to a whisper of incense after a time. Sillage and longevity are moderate. An intriguing unisex scent, WW is full-bodied, dark, dry and warm, unsettling yet comforting, made with good-quality ingredients and beautiful throughout. Certainly not for everyone, but an olfactory artwork that stays satisfyingly on theme. 4/5.

Testing on the blotter I was curious, why would there be two patchouli roses in the Vyrao range? It smelled too close to Georgette to make sense. Trying it on skin the difference became clear, Witchy Woo is a sublime, warm, spicy take on a rose oxide, incense and cinnamon accord, with earthy sandalwood and powdery orris for supporting texture. These notes make this very like Dusk — a perfume I love from Lyn Harris's own Perfumer H range. The main difference being the lightness of the patchouli note in Witchy Woo, more armagnac than woody or peaty, and the musk softening and sweetening things. For me I prefer Dusk 's drier, vetiverish approach but Witchy Woo could work equally well for others looking for something slightly softer and more rounded.

This was the best from the sample set, I thought. From the first moment it reminded me of ... something. I couldn’t think what. Used up the sample. Bought a bottle. Used it many times. Something from long ago, familiar, a happy time. Finally it hit me. Cachet from the 70’s! They used to advertise Cachet as smelling different on everyone, and reading the reviews for Witchy Woo, I think this is the same way, because people are reporting such different things. It’s lovely to me, and my only complaint is that it doesn’t last more than 15 minutes on skin.

I’m surprised this has such mixed reviews. To me this is what the cool grungy girl with smudged black eyeliner in films/TV shows smells like (minus the cigarettes). Warm, spicy, a little greenness from probably the carrot seed which comes across as a cardamom-like smell with the spices. I’m getting in to spicy perfumes and this one is a great one to start with. I feel like I’ve smelt candles like this, so it’s not challenging, I could see it as an everyday scent if not overdone.

Bought a travel size of this to try out, mostly because the name spoke to me. I was pleasantly surprised! This is a very wearable, floral incense. It made me feel very nostalgic and reminded me of a perfume I've smelled in my childhood. I just realized it's loulou by cacharel, which was my best friends' mom's perfume. I haven't smelled loulou in years so I'm not sure how closely they compare, but at least the iris is very noticeable in both. Already repurchased!

This is very magical and the name "Witchy Woo" fits perfectly. Smells like you're wandering through a forest and settle down to camp. It's woodsy, but the opening is very earthy, the incense is strong but not headache inducing. I love that the dry down is a bit creamy from that orris and musk note. Thankfully I found this used on Mercari, otherwise I would've never bought this full price. Although it's unique and beautiful, Vyrao scents don't last long.

This is insanely familiar, but I can't nail what it is like.. Will have to come back to you on that! I am genuinely gutted that this is so fleeting. It is a really divine, muted spice combo. Totally agree with the bubblegum note, that was a great spot! :) I may have to see if I can make this stick with body creams and on fabric because I really do like a lot, but I couldn't FB buy when it is on its way out within 5 minutes.

I’m a fan. I don’t know why though, this is not something that I would wear or would gravitate towards, I like this though. I’m confused as it’s like being mesmerised by a Goth. A typical 90s Goth, no real chemistry between you, no notable attraction but there’s a pull; you’re unsure if you’re wanting more but you’re happy with the platonic new relationship burgeoning. It’s gothic elegant beautiful.

This is the scent I have been looking for my whole life! It is incense-y but also a little bubblegum-y on my skin. I only wish this had greater longevity. As much as I am in love with the scent, I’m not sure I’ll repurchase once I run out because, for the price, I expect better longevity.

Witchy Woo is special, it is the perfect scent for early fall, witchy and mysterious. Too bad it doesn't last at all on my skin. It is completely gone in an hour. I have a sample set of Vyrao scents and this seems to be the case with all of them.

this is going to sound like the weirdest comparison, but does anyone else remember like a peppermint-chocolate flavored lip balm from the 2000s? it really reminds me of that. leather and mint chocolate lip smackers. which i don’t hate

It smells like you have walked into a crystal shop and are about to get your cards read in the best way. I just wish the scent lasted longer and had a lot more projection

A combination of witchy patchouli and gothic talc vibes, and I'll raise it even further: a modern whimsical goth, paying tribute to old hippies (yes, a mishmash like that). This patchouli truly has bad intentions. Muddy, unrefined, unpleasant... and there's unnecessary sweetness accompanying this tone. Probably the only unsuccessful scent from the Green Heart discovery, but it still entertained me. Because there's something in this thing that triggers the urge to chew gum. Maybe it's the resinous feel, I don't know. This time the gum is cinnamon-flavored and you're chewing it wildly, while constantly spinning around with the swirling skirts of your batik dress... With all the horrible reviews I thought this was going to be awful. It’s really not that bad. It smells like incense. I know there are lots of types of incense but I really can’t describe it any other way. It smells like if you went into a crystal shop or something. There’s no other way to describe it. I don’t hate it. I would wear it in autumn/winter. I think if you’re quite witchy you might like this.

I think this is the perfect name for this scent. It’s a dark, spicy, patchouli fragrance which has elements of incense and mint. It’s not my style of fragrance and I thought I’d have to scrub it upon first spray, but it settled down into something I don’t mind. I’ll not buy a full bottle and I may end up giving this sample to a friend who loves patchouli.

Upon first spraying, I was assaulted by the overpowering scent of patchouli. And I do mean overpowering! After a few minutes though; the Cinnamon, Sandalwood, Musk, and Rose finally make an appearance and smell divine! Now my question is: Do I love this perfume enough to go through that Patchouli bomb every time I want to wear it?

For me, it smells very balsamic. Probably Tolu balsam, mixed with a lot of cinnamon. It has an ambery quality without smelling like amber. It's pleasant and thankfully, not overly sweet. Probably suited for a mature person.

Weak, unappealingly minty, and only lasts about 15 minutes on the skin. I was expecting a beguiling, multi layered fragrance, one to inspire me. But this inspires disappointment, not creativity. Such a shame as the concept of the fragrance is entrancing. But majorly let down by the product itself!

This is a little too “hippie” for me as only the Patchouli makes its monstrous presence known on my unfortunate skin 😔😔😔 absolutely no rose, no powder, no incense, no cinnamon...nothing but earthy and very dirty patchouli... Oh well, thank goodness for samples!!!

I wanted to love this perfume, but the moment I sprayed it my husband started gagging..... well.... yeah this is not going into my fabrotires for sure - sorry ! Too strong too syrupy, too sweet .... something medicinal.... something very "off"

I'm unsure how this has so many good reviews. What I smell is Pine-Sol mixed with clove cigarettes and a touch of grass.

just smells like incense to me, surprisingly projection is quite poor.

I can’t claim to have a sophisticated nose, so the best description of this on me I can come up with is liquid soap from a dispenser in a public loo. Every time I smell my wrist with this on, that’s all I get. Cheap soap. Unfortunately - on me- it’s also pretty strong and long lasting. I was given a travel size in an Advent calendar so thankfully this didn’t cost me but Im astonished to see how expensive WW is to buy. I’d say save the money. Wash your hands in a service station.

Really sharp top note. My sinuses didn’t appreciate it. Smelled like men’s cologne rather than lady’s. I really wanted to like it.

My boyfriend loved this the most out of all 5 that I tried. Something about it intrigued him. It’s an earthy and spicy cinnamon kind of fragrance. Like the way cinnamon tastes when you’re chewing on the bark cinnamon. I have cinnamon bark essential oil diluted in a spray for the fall and if I sprayed that with a spritz of Epice Fern by For the Scent of It with a few drops of Blossoms synergy blend by Rocky Mountain Oils rolled onto my wrist, I feel like you could kind of create that cinnamon-y patchouli esque feel of this. I wish these had better staying power because I would definitely be a bigger fan!

Look, I love a good witchy perfume. What surprises me about this one is that with all the notes listed it lasts about a minute and projects not at all. I could douse myself with it and be fine in an elevator. I like it, I could even love it, I'm just frustrated that it's so intimate. I have all these notes in other scents that last and project (looking at you Iris Poupre and Jo Malone Orris & Sandalwood) and Coven gives me the in your face supernatural. Love the concept, appreciate the scent, frustrated with the performance.

Really mixed experience with this one: I got a small sample as part of an advent calendar and enjoyed it lots - the spiciness of it hit just the spot! It is a rich scent that goes really well with long dark nights. Kept wearing it several times throughout the winter and ended up buying a full bottle. Maybe it's the change of seasons or perhaps I just got enough of it but it doesn't spark joy (as Marie Kondo would put it haha) anymore -- happy to sell my bottle (30 ml, based in EU)

Wonderful unisex fragrance. Normally cinnamon and patchouli scents are too heavy and masculine on my skin but this is light and woody with just a bit of spice. Full bottle ordered. *Review based upon travel size in SpaceNK set consisting of this perfume and The Sixth in 10 ml travel sizes. Had sprayed some on my arm, and walking around the grocery store I got whiffs of a gorgeous Christmas-y scent. Took a few moments to realise it was me!

It's okay, kind of your typical witchy fragrance. It doesn't seem to last very long and seems kind of timid for the notes in this. Not necessarily a bad thing, at least I won't be assaulting others with it. I don't understand why but after about an hour this develops a slight tangy stinky foot smell!? When I sniff my wrists it isn't there but I keep catching whiffs of it around me. (And it's definitely not my actual feet, I checked.)

I'm what I would call a sunwashed half-goth and this isn't goth enough, even for me lol. I'd say the fresher, sharper elements of the fragrance make a bigger impression than anything earthy or dark. Suitable even for summer. It's not bad, but with a name and bottle like that... there are expectations lol. If this is indeed related to Charlotte Cosmic Power, that one is way, way better. Hits harder, feels darker, commits more.

This has a strong 2013-2014 vibe, the time I remember as the peak "witchy" fragrance era. This is a nice an rather sweet incense fragrance, with notes of patch and rose. I also get cocoa powder, although it's not listed. I will try it again in the fall, as I might like it better in the colder months. Is it worth the price? Probably not.

This thing is super intriguing I cant think of anything else that smells like it. Earthy and natural The orris and pepper give it a freshness i think really works in warmer weather as well I do think the year+ ive had it has also helped in the longevity department. Opoponax also lends it that cream soda vibe Would be a lovely signature

Nothingburger fragrance. It’s like every boring rose sandalwood patchouli fragrance out there but super super anemic. Barely there at all, no projection, gone in an hour.but then again if you are the type of person to fall for marketing around charged energy crystals rationality isn’t even in the picture

Interesting fragrance, don’t know anything like it. I was expecting something floral and powdery with the orris and rose. Instead on me it’s the cinnamon that comes out the most with an overall sweet, almost minty vibe. I will definitely try it again to see if my next experience will be different.

I really like this however this one seems like it's not easy to wear because it's overwhelming. It doesn't even smell very much like perfume. I get a lot of cinnamon and black pepper. It smells like church from the incense and rose too

The idea behind the brand, a fragrance created by Lyn Harris, the scent pyramid, gorgeous bottle and THAT name...I SO want this!

Too dry, carrot seed and I thought labdunum but not listed. Had high hopes but it was an immediate no from me.

The most witchy thing about this is how it magically disappears after 30 minutes
