A Little Star-Dust

I had rather low expectations for this one, because by far the only coffee perfume that I have ever liked was the discontinued Trussardi Inside. I cannot stand Black Opium line, it is headache inducing to me. Though, I understand that if for someone this is not the case it can be perceived as attractive. To me it is just overly sweet. Thus, I had doubts with this one, stricly based on the notes and the thought of Black Opium. But this is luckily no sweet pulp. Actually it is really pleasant. Because of the fact that it is an oil that feels natural (and I think is indeed natural, what I see in the ingredient list are the essential oils), it is easy to wear. It is a spicy coffee (a la chai, or chai latte, I am thinking David Rio chais, especially Tiger comes to my mind). Additionally there is some vanilla, some ylang, some iris - in that order. Feels slightly exotic, and really surprisingly not so sweet, just a bit.

Looking at the ingredients mentioned on the official site of Walden perfumes, it contains also essential oil of fennel seeds and orris concrete. I tested it several times (I bought the tiny 5ml bottle) The fennel seeds smells a little bit like anice seeds or even licorice, is my impression. It contains ylang ylang that is not one of my favorite flowers in perfumery, but because it contains fennel seeds and coffee seeds, it made me curious to try it. It is a rich floral, not very sweet, but you have to love ylang ylang. The sillage is stronger than the other 2 that I have tried (Two eternities and Castle in the air) It is not my genre, but I appreciated it anyway, because it is good made and above all, completely from essential oils in natural alcool)
