Rose De L'antiquité Oud -Tale of an old soul in the modern era Time goes by and we are gradually understanding the fact about the fragrances from the bygone times. The fragrances from 20th century will always imprint a special space in our heart. The fragrances of that time are the root of today's perfumery world and some perfumers or houses take this root so seriously. Wasif Reza, the perfumer of Rose De L'antiquité Oud, whose soul is deeply connected with the vintage era, tried to keep his love for vintage perfumery in his fragrances. He spent 10 years learning about natural perfumery, and I believe he has achieved what he wanted through his own creation. It's a chypre floral summed up with oud and kinam. Sweet fruity rose hits the opening for having indian rose and trat oud. Kinamic tones can be noticed for a while, which has added the green vibes to the fragrance. A good amount of sandalwood and musk can be noticed in dry down.Longevity and silage is also very good. It lasts 8-10 hours on my skin in these hot summer days with the first 2-2.5 hours of moderate projection.

This fragrance is truly in a league of its own. I have never smelled anything like it. Every time I wear it, it shows me something new. It feels regal and timeless, almost like something reserved for special occasions centuries ago. Wasif poured his heart and soul into this creation and you can feel it. He strikes me as both sharp and kind, and that comes through in the way this perfume was crafted. Rose de l’Antiquité Oud has a beautiful fruity sweetness that blends perfectly with the rose and oud. There is also a vintage chypre twist that makes it unforgettable. If you collect timeless and masterful scents, this is one you need. The sample of Peau d’Orris that came with it was already such a treat. If that was only an unfinished version, I can only imagine how incredible the final perfume will be. I will absolutely be keeping my eyes on it.

What I have smelled is truly scent from the lost era. I am still unable to decipher the whole journey but as I know the guy and his knowledge and taste, I knew before that I will like it. You might consider this a little biased review however trust me I have smelled best of the best. Now if I want to have brief conclusion about the compostion, this is a rose oud and more in classical chypre structure. It is all about balancing and will give you a smooth and unparalleled journey to your olfactory territory. Very well done brother and congratulations to your debut release. Sharp, spicy and incensy opening...A beautiful rose note creeps in slowly few minutes later as an undertone and stay like that for a while...The rose note develops gradually and come to center stage and triad of highest quality oud joins the party very subtly....top notes fades away gradually by then and a breathtakingly beautiful combination of rose-oud facet starts...This stage is most beautiful to me... It's magical when rose and oud with highest quality cooked perfectly, it's done here masterfully! The balance of the composition is implacable, one can imagine the hard work and patience behind this. This is unlike any rose-oud fragrance I have experienced, opening few minutes won't give you any clue of that! It's an exotic journey and I personally always search for perfumes like that... The base of the perfume has a classical chypre style with oakmoss and hint of natural musk...The perfume has above average projection for 2 to 3 hours then it sits close to the skin... Longevity is very good, like 10+ hours on my skin, on clothes more.... What an artistic and thoroughly enjoyable composition, it's like taking a beautiful and exciting journey! The perfumer has hit the bullseye in his 1st release, can't wait for the 2nd one to get in my hand!!
