Essence de Bois Précieux Eau de Parfum

#1520 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. I loved this scent immediately. I have several very much like it: Nobile 1942 "Ambra Nobile", O Boticario "Zaad Santal", Mancera "Kumkat Wood", the Mancer bing closest to this. But all those scents do not have myrrh and papyrus notes, which definitely set this Welton above those similar scents. For me scents that combine papyrus and myrrh are almost always winners. 19-69 "1968/Christopher Street", Mizensir "Incensum", Lalique "Ombre Noir", Beaufort London "Terror & Magnificence", Parfums de Marley "Hamdani", Amouage "Boundless", though most of those scents add leather this scent lacks. But truly, if I had nothing to spray on but one of these scents, I'd be content. Same for this Welton scent. Definitely signature worthy. Some myrrh scents aren't business appropriate, but this is. It's an all-day scent, with good projection, not cloying or offensive. But if you carpool, go easy. Same if you ride a crowded elevator to an office on the 42nd floor. Pricey, but I'll shop around.

Essence de Bois Précieux is an amber woody fragrance and for me it is the perfect fragrance for this rainy Thursday afternoon. Top - Bergamot, Labdanum, Myrrh Heart - Moroccan Cedar, Guaiac Wood, Papyrus Base - Vetiver, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Ambergis Opens really woody with some juicy citrus sweetness and tartness. As the juiciness fades into the background, I start to get this warmy balmy and spicy scent that complements its woodiness. Aromatic and earthy, a heavy vetiver weighs the whole thing into this bold mannish fragrance. Essence de Bois Précieux smells luxurious. It would be perfect for a dressed up evening or a cozy rainy afternoon (just like right now). It gives me this mood of being in a suit and tie, looking good and feeling confident (even though often times I’m in my jammies 😆) Longevity is long lasting lasting for 9ish hours on my skin. Moderately strong sillage and projection. Definitely a go to fragrance when I want to feel all dressed up!
