Keemun Eau de Parfum

First, the great news. This has NO annoying or piercing aromachemicals that blot out almost every other note! Will someone shout hallelujah! I really like this one. I thought it smelled like Remember Me by Jovoy, which I have, so I put Keemun all over my arms, and Remember Me only in a little spot on both arms. Remember Me is very citrusy, bright, and definitely milky. It's 'higher' to me, but not high pitched. Do you know what I mean? Keemun is much more warm and warming. More of a Fall/Winter scent to me. But it is not heavy. It doesn't have great sillage, but it does last for hours and hours. I have to put my nose to my arm to smell it though. This smells more 'lower' on the scale, which is a great thing to me. I wish to leave Keemun exactly as it is, as it's beautiful and I'd want a full bottle, except I wish for the sillage of Remember Me to get my money's worth. Edit: I bought the full bottle and am so glad I did.

Keemun is the kind of fragrance that truly wows you. I received it along with 20+ other samples that weren't speaking to me — then I smelled this. It was immediately full bottle worthy from the very first sniff and first wear. It’s smooth, rounded, cozy, and still incredibly sophisticated. This scent captures everything I want in a fragrance — black tea, iris, incense, rum, cacao, a soft fluffy musk, mate, and bergamot. The way these notes come together feels like a perfectly orchestrated symphony. It’s a dream for tea lovers. The opening is beautiful, and the dry down is even better on my skin. This is a true masterpiece. Gris Charnel has been in my Top 10 for life because of that black tea and iris combination, but this might just dethrone it. I absolutely NEED a full bottle.

#1525 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. This is a nice scent for intimate wear. A truly unique note combination that I really like and for which I can find no equivalents. For tea lovers. But I'd categorize it as "huggable." If they aren't hugging you they probably will not notice it. It's really not a good potency EDP. Detectable six inches to a foot. You'd definitely respray after several hours. It's got a $285 price tag. If it had more staying power and was more aromatic, there still would be a few hundred scents I'd buy first at that price. Something along this line you men might consider, especially if you long for the return of Gucci "Pour Homme II" as I do, is Penhaligon "Legacy of Petra." Myrrh, tea, bergamot, wood, lot of nice and unique notes, but available for $115.

I am not sure I get tea. It naturally has a honeyed, resinous, slightly aromatic warmth. It reads almost like sweet vanilla with cool flower but with added warmness.

As the opening notes settle, smoky mate enters the stage, mingling with the incense and anise-like myrrh to lend the tea a cosy and warming aura. It’s like taking that first scalding sip of your drink and feeling a flush of warmth spread through your body. Iris wraps the warm notes in a powdery cocoon, infused with a beautiful sugary sweetness wafting from the base. Curiously, on skin, the cocoa and rum create a fairly realistic impression of brown sugar slowly dissolving in the richness of black tea. Laced with soft incense and mate, this creates a lingering sweet smokiness that is both flattering on skin and leaves the most addictive scent trail. I adore a gourmand touch in my scents, and here, it is graceful and elegant and wonderfully realistic. Like most Welton perfumes, Keemun was a love at first sniff, and I highly recommend it to those looking for a refined tea scent that strikes the perfect balance between aromatic and gourmand. @mytopnotes IG

There’s something here that reminds me of a comforting childhood scent—one I obviously can’t identify. Beyond that, I found Keemun gorgeous at first sniff, though it didn’t strike me as love at first sight. It was only when I revisited it a few months later that its beauty truly hit me. Keemun gives me an immediate sense of calm, like a warm, powdery, and sophisticated caress, yet it never give an « out of reach » vibe. Tea, iris, and cocoa swirl around, sometimes airy, sometimes more grounding. Bergamot makes everything sparkle. The musk adds that clean feeling, and when warmed by the other notes, it strongly resembles ambrette. I don’t distinctly recognize incense or guaiac wood, but as in all well-crafted perfumes, it’s hard to tell where one note ends and where the next begins. After seeing it sold out on several websites, I reached out to the brand a few days ago and they confirmed it’s been discontinued! If you’ve been hesitating about this underrated beauty, it’s now or never.

absolutely beautiful and expertly blended. i got every part of the fragrance without anything sticking out like a sore thumb - it was warm, spicy, fresh, a tea experience to behold. parts of it remind me of Soie Malaquais (possibly the warmth from the cacao and overall fantastic blend). safe to say i drained my small sample quickly. the only problem is, it's truly a fleeting fragrance experience for the price. it could very well be worth it - a cozy fall tea scent to be coveted, but I think I would need a larger decant in my collection first before shilling out the money for the full bottle.

Warm creamy vanilla, a little woody, a little spicy. But what makes Keemun stand out for me is it’s a little green. It’s like a very fragrant tea with milk with a dash of vanilla on a gloomy day. Covered in a blanket of this goodness. It’s comfy and cozy sweater weather feels. Lasted an eternity and projects moderately loud for quite a long time.

Smooth and warm but also a bit too subtle even in warm weather. Price point is high.
