Lucky Charm Extrait de Parfum

Pleasant scent for men. IMO it’s more appropriate for formal occasions, but some might be able to pull it off as casual wear. Smells like a posh guy in his late 30’s. This scent is strong, although projection is moderate. It’s aromatic, slightly musky and very sweet (not in the cloying vanilla/tonka kind of way). It’s woody but not in the earthy or heavy kind of way. There’s no amber, yet it’s balsamic and resinous. I’m getting something slightly fresh which might be the nutmeg. There’s no citrus or sharp notes, no heavyness, no headache or anything cloying. It’s a strong aromatic and balsamic scent, yet airy. It’s powdery but not soapy and it doesn’t have any cheapie, showergel or barbershop vibes. Definitely unique. I would like to smell this on my boyfriend when we go out, but it might be too powdery, polished and sweet for everyday wear.

It was not difficult for me to decide about this fragrance. I smelled it and without thinking twice I bought it. Such an addictive scent. 8/10.

#1738 in my “Tour de Fragrance” “It’s magically delicious!” Okay, maybe there is some subliminal suggestion going on here, but if you had a handful of “Lucky Charms” breakfast cereal in one hand and this on the other, you’d notice some similarities because of the cardamom and the HUGE presence of nutmeg which gives it a kind of pancake syrup vibe that smells good for a minute, but you don’t want to smell it all day. I really didn’t enjoy the opening for that reason. Fortunately that drops off in the dry down and you can pick out the cedar and tobacco, but at that point you have a scent that’s not that different from many others that don’t cost this much. I’m at a loss for anything to compare this to and the ones people are suggesting aren’t even close. This might be date wear, more formal for some, but not for casual use or the office. It’s long lasting on the skin, moderate silage. Would get cloying if you go heavy. Sellers are wanting $240 and up for this and for me to pay that this would have to be a top twenty scent so I’ll pass. Good Luck and Good Hunting!

With the list of notes present, I thought this was going to be my jam. Alas, tis not. I was expecting something dark and carnal, despite the name. But i mean if you get lucky.. bit if a stretch. But that is what I was thinking. It is not. Is light and pink, lavender (color not scent), periwinkle, that sort of a thing, if that makes sense. While not offensive, it does actually smells rather pleasant. Just not for me. Im not an airy kind of girl. I like deep, dark, earthy fragrances with just a tad of sweetness. This is lots of powder and an edge of sweetness cutting through. Nothing dark about it at all. I will say it does project fairly well, cannot speak to longevity yet, but i can update later. Im not keeping my bottle. I do want to say that purchasing directly from jovoy was such a treat. It felt like christmas when i opened my fragrances with all of the samples and free gifts. It was incredible. Plus they have a ton of fragrances.. like too many. Im still combing thru all of the scents. Yeesh, at least i can mark this off of my list.

The opening of this is zesty, dry woods, & spice Shortly there after it dries down to a woodsy & slightly leathery smoky amber scent Looking at the notes - the cardamom, nutmeg, tobacco, & sandalwood are all apparent on my skin With 4 sprays I get decent projection, good longevity, it’s good but a little generic Reminds me of some of the syrupy woody scents from Serge Lutens
