Oud Inspiration Eau de Toilette

smelled this last week at Jovoy Paris.... loved it immediately.....but also because it reminded me of Oud Wood by TF.... For 210 euro ( 50 ml) i had the same problem as is do with TF... longevity POOR on my skin... not even 2 hours... glad i did not buy this...although MMMMMM beautiful. Other wood offers from this line are also worth giving a try.... but also same longevity problem with me... (I decided for 2 others from Perfums Berry.... WHOOPS)

One of the niche fragrance boutiques in my city recently added 5 offerings from this house to their library and I went yesterday to smell them among which is this fragrance. I enjoyed the way this smelled on the blotter, so I got a sample and wore it today as my scent of the day. The other standout from the five was Secret Amber and I snagged a sample of that one, too but alas, this is about Oud Inspiration. It smells great on my skin and like the reviewer below me, the performance isn't stellar although not as bad for me and for them. At this writing it's 4 hours into the life of the fragrance but now it's just a very faint skin scent. It projected fairly well for the first 1.5-2 hours but after that I had to struggle to catch wafts of it. The scent itself is great. On me, it smells like a great patchouli fragrance even though patchouli is not listed as a note. Oddly, neither is oud even though it's in the name of the fragrance. Overall, this smells great but for $268 CAD plus tax, so $300 total, it's just not worth the price in my opinion. The sample was 2ml so there's enough to give it another try to see if performance improves. Hoping for a better result as the scent itself is great.

An interesting scent that gives an oudy vibe despite having no Oud in it. The Oud accord is made up of ambergris, cedar and tonka bean. The scent opens with notes of cardamom, lemon and cashmere and transitions to this oudy accord drydown with some sage and artemisia. The unisex scent has moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Overall it’s nice, not hugely exceptional. Enjoy!
