Secret Amber Eau de Toilette

Stunning fragrance. I have the EDP Beautiful presentation too. The rose is soft but present, not enough to put it in the ‘Rose’ category for me though. This is a very strong almost softly spicy amber, not too much powder so that I dislike it, but enough to move it into a decidedly feminine category. Sweet, not sugary or sickly sweet, but quite syrupy, not too much vanilla but enough that it lasts a long time. And a sandalwood base that isn’t listed here that gives it a subtle spicy warmth that I really wasn’t expecting. This is NOT a soft powdery floral bomb. It’s something different entirely. More like a Penhaligons Clandestine Clara type of scent profile, although a bit different in scent, and this lasts longer. I’m not describing it well, but it’s really a great scent. I have the EDP and it lasts for a good 8 hours. I am an over sprayer, maybe 10 sprays usually, and this had great projection and longevity. Can’t compare it to anything in my huge collection really, as despite being a crowd pleaser style scent it’s really quite unusual.

Projection and Sillage Monster, lasts incredibly long on my dry skin (longest lasting fragrance in my collection and it is only an EDT). When I did a little perfume testing marathon, this was the only scent that still lasted on my skin after a day. Could not decide between this and Initio - Absolue Aphrodisiac (was looking for a sexy vanilla) but decided for Welton London because of the fair price. Fair price for the quality you get, it is a rather linear (but not bad I do not mind) scent with a very strong, sexy vanilla note. It is sweet and I pick up some powdery notes. Gorgeous scent I wonder why there are not more reviews. Highly underrated niche house! Unfortunately, it does not seem to be such a successful brand because the luxury department store in Zurich (CH) told me that they are discontinuing Welton London scents. I wish I could have a chance to try the other scents :(

Beautiful perfume! Very underrated. It is sensual, very feminine, not too sugary but sweet and unique in my collection. It leaves a trail and last all day in edp concentration. Perfection 10/10

Yes, this is fine - sweet, manageable, vanilla-centric, powdery, femme scent with rock-solid performance that hardly varies at all over time. Juuuuuuust classy enough to smell like a very slightly more upmarket L'Artisan L'Eau d'Ambre Extreme; it resembles all sorts of other ambers at many different price points, so it's nothing unique. But the vanilla is a little overwhelming for my taste; and overall this is a bit smothering and a few decibels too loud. (My personal taste in amber runs darker, drier and spicier in general, so aim off for that - I kept wishing for some more aromatic herbal/spicy notes but they never showed up. A bit more coriander or pepper could have made this really something special.) Never screeching or screaming, then, but far from 'secret' - this is definitely not a discreet whisper but a fragrance with a GREAT BIG AMBER OUTSIDE VOICE, which leaves me feeling a tiny bit bullied. Those who love strong, sweet, quality mid-market ambers should certainly try a tussle with it and see who gets tossed to the mat first.

A feminine amber fragrance. Very well balanced with the amber, vanilla and rose notes. For sure, for cold days (fall / winter), it is a warm and cosy scent. Sexy and bold!
