Eau De Mystique

A beautifully sweet, sexy, syrupy, fruity and boozy rose Bitter and honeyed Mai Rose rose that is a deep burgundy in color. It smells almost vintage in character like a vintage amber chypre. The rose is realistic, full, and deep next to a jug of warmed honey or sweetened honey lemon tea. Nothing like Ambre Narguile or any of its clones, this is unique and in a lane of its own. I wasn’t expecting this to be so rose dominant - bitter and fruity aspects of rose a profile characteristic of slight citrus, and tea qualities. Eau de Mystique is like taking a microscope to the core of a beet-red rose and then dropping yourself inside of it. There is also something arousing and naughty about this formula with its fruity qualities like Deviant. I don't know how Wesker manages to do that but that sexy sophisticated DNA is present here as well. I also smell the stem as if the rose bud was just snapped from its base and the sweet green smell from the open wound in the stem is lingering in the air. This green and herbal, grassy, undercurrent is definitely a tell-tale sign that a real Rose de Mai absolute was possibly used here. I feel a connection in syrupy scent quality to Tauerville rose flash or Tauer Une Rose De Kandahar but Eau de Mystique is more tangy, bitter and sparkling, citrus and honey dominant rather than creamy and nutty like Une Rose De Kandahar. It is not thick and incense-y like many other indie rose fragrances typically become. Ensar, Sultan Pasha, Areej Le Doré and House of Matriarch for example are guilty of this. That incense-y, churchy, or thick, gloopy quality of indie rose fragrances to me is the result of throwing everything but the kitchen sink into the perfume to try to compliment the scent of the rose. My analogy for this blending is how homemade juice when settled separates with all the heavy material sitting at the bottom of the jug and the colored flavored water floating above. It is fine for juice to do this but I do not want my fragrances to be this way. Incense roses, and rose ouds, and saffron roses, all thick, warm, and bottom-heavy with only light top notes escaping the skin while the gloopy, waxy, church-y rose stays on the skin. Even though I appreciated this type of rose when I was new to fragrances you realize it is a mediocre and heavy blending style that becomes synonymous with indie roses. In my opinion it soon proves to be monotonous and boring especially at the price. They all begin to smell the same like Malik al Taif, Juriah or Ottoman Empire and Kazimi. Sample them if you can to see what I mean. Though Wesker produces a colorful and busy notes list I can safely assure you this rose is not indie. Rather very fresh, fruity and tangy, somewhat green and not cacophonous in the least, smelling slightly like fresh apples. You can probably get away with this in spring and summer but winter is coming up and this is the perfect weather for it. Eau de Mystique is like an edible dewy and lush rose, vibrant, hypnotic and voluptuous. This is also a BIG performance perfume and could possibly lack versatility in some professional environments. The rose in this is fresh and DEEP. Up there with my favorites. 9.5/10

One of the very few gourmands that match my frequency nowadays, and perhaps among the most unique gourmand out there. Eau de Mystic MY TAKE: Wesker's Eau De Mystic is an excellent blend of dry fruits and resinoidal elements, all steeped in a taif characterized rose. The waxy undertone serving as the core structure may be an accord due to the coupling of honey and other balsams (styrax and labdanum); strengthening the overall tenacity which ties the entire composition rather well. Subtle hints of a spicy character appear in the mid, giving off a "Garam Masala" impression; this is intimately connected with the rich sticky syrupy rose. A slight talcum powder nuance starts to linger around in air, which is barely noticeable upclose. This was in my list since a while, luckily got hold of a sample mid last year in Canada from a lovely salesperson. Had decent view initially, however grew quite abruptly after coming back home, here. And just recently made the decision to preorder a full bottle. On a matter of fact, most highly dense resin based compositions don't transition throughout their lifetime(due to the adhesive properties of resin molecules), and this is not an exception. On the very drydown, an oily propolis like animalic undertone starts to help settle the fragrance as a skin like scent, similar to what I've felt in compositions utilizing natural beeswax. The dry fruit accord lingers until the very end of the fragrance, evoking clean, oily human skin of the loved. I've kept this short and simple due to its linear nature, with minimal transitions throughout. I generally look for deep, smooth transitional phases in fragrances, where the scent evolves with time; or, scientifically, the macroscopic olfactory bubble has a conscious evolutionary limit at certain instances, which changes the scent completely after a certain critical time. This definitely is not one of those perfumes; however, it makes the whole linearity scheme in perfumery a whole lot more applaudable or appreciative. I have to say, this might be one of my favorite "linear" perfumes around. If you're a fan of fragrances like Slowdive by Hiram Green, Gaea by Centauri, Rose Ember by TRNP or the powdery animalic tonality in vintage Joy from Jean Patou then you're going to love this! This is the second fragrance from this house that I have sampled. The first, Deviant, I have reviewed and given it very high marks. But this one is a deep sexy beast that lasts for hours and hours on my fragrance killer skin. The list of notes is long, but I really can smell virtually all of them and my oh my do they bend well. There is some similarity to Ambre Narguille but they are distinct and this is not trying to imitate it. It it big enough to stand tall in the sun rather than fading into shadows. I really am not exaggerating when I say this one competes with some of the best Serge Lutens that I have tried in terms of complexity and depth. I am not sure how it would be wearing this during the day as it radiates out and takes over. To me, I like this, but those trying to find an office scent need to look elsewhere. The scent evolves, it isn't linear, but some of the notes last throughout, especially the sandalwood, olibanum, and honey. It is a sweet scent so those looking for pure masculine may not love it, but I am very impressed by both of the two from this house I have. There are only 3 altogether from this house: Imperial is the 3rd and the notes indicate if it might put TF's Lost Cherry out to pasture (and unlike many TF haters I quite like Lost Cherry).

Reviewing this from my 3rd wear of this fragrance. I haven't got a full bottle but it's going to happen. I'm not a huge fan of rose fragrances but Eau de mystique broke my mold. It's absolutely stunning. I can't make everything out from the note breakdown but I can definitely smell the rose, plums and florals. Superb. I have never smelled anything from this kind of DNA. I see people mentioning Bengale Rouge but I think it's because of the rose but everything else is differently blended. I'm not really comfortable with the $180 price tag for 50ml but I do think it's smell super high quality and rather unique so it might be worth it. A definite recommendation but do try it first.

Eau De Mystique is the first sniff from this brand. Gorgeous fragrance with deep rose, adding faint bitter orange support before gradually transitioning to its heart. I sampled it at my friend's place and immediately placed an order of it. It's a worthy buy for me. Its projection and silage are very potent. you can use it for casually night parties or movie. This is similar to Labrotorio Olfacttivo Kashnoir. Try sample and then decide of buying. Scent: 9/10 Silage: 9/10 Longevity: 10/10 Bottle: 9/10 Price: 9.5/10

This is one of very few florals i actually like. I am not getting the gourmand classification at all. It does have some honey and spice nuances on my skin. But i would say its a dark honey rose on my skin. It kind of reminds of rose jam from lush, just all grown up and with an edge. I generally am an earthy fragrance kid of girl with zero floral. This is mainly floral but grounded with some earthy back up singers. I like it. Surprisingly. Worth a look, or sniff, as it were.

I received a sample of this after purchasing the fragrance "Deviant" from the same designer. I was a bit hesitant because the reviews say that it's a more masculine fragrance. I cannot disagree more. This is spicy fragrance that can definitely be worn by a woman. I can see wearing this in the wintertime while bundled up in a nice down jacket. Will try it in the winter to see if it warrants buying a full bottle.

Wowza! This parfum is powerful. Great Autumn/Winter frag. It is sweet, decadent and spicy at the same time. The honey and vanilla marry beautifully with the green Mandarin, blood orange and neroli. The floral and sandalwood make this lean feminine to my nose. I will enjoy this immensely.

Still floral. Not fem floral. Deep, dense, powdery floral. Pollen. Animalic honey bomb. This a dark tone and thick sweet balsamic perfume. Tiny smoke frankincense vibe. Smell natural like fresh brown grass. Kinda earthy. Update 01aug2024 Woody, sweet jammey, smokey.

Masterpiece ... it's simply delicious, heavy, warm, dense, sweet, super sexy and Beast Mode ... I'm note lying, this Fragrance stays on my skin for 24 hrs 🤗 Absolutely unisex and for cold days or a very special night. Chapeau Wesker !!! ❤️❤️❤️

I got a great deal, so I took a shot. This is a powerhouse! Love it! I don't think you need to be cautious regarding a bling buy... especially if you can get a great deal. If you love gourmand scents this is a must for your collection.

Does fragrantica hide some notes porously ? Why cinnamon and other spices not mentioned in the perfume pyramid ?? Any way, its really a warm perfume full of feelings in cold nights.

Best honey and rose combo room filler with one spray

I actually like this which is strange since I am not a big fan of gourmand perfumes. The above Joy reference is slight but there in the sense Wesker's Eau De Mystique has a kind of "cat pee" accord that Patou's Joy does have from Civet. Here it is from an extremely animalic honey. I have smelled some animalic honey perfumes in my time as a collector, but none come close to this. Wow! Dried fruits, mostly prunes to my nose are very potent here, you can feel the bite of them. When I eat a prune there is a sour tang that comes in the first bite but after that it is sweetness, the same feeling is here but w/ smell. A powdery rose makes her presence known quite early on and it gives a nice balance to what would otherwise be a very foody perfume. I also pick up heliotrope as well and it is giving off almond and cherry pie nuances. Maybe some powder but the powder I feel here is from the rose. I don't know if I would want to wear this because it does teeter on candle territory for me but it is quite interesting. A foody perfume that manages to stay a bit more in the perfume realm. Rich and balmy resins round out this unique perfume.

What a crazy creation It pumps so strong in first couple of hours you literally reek of it Resinous as you might expect and the honey is very strong at first What I couldn’t fathom is how strong the neroli smells with the rest of the notes Ignoring the notes pyramid Id say it’s ambery resinous in the base and honey white floral in the opening I enjoyed it but as always neroli was a deal breaker for me Maybe it’s my clothes on skin the neroli wasn’t so apparent For 5 hours it smells divine but then it became a generic ambery scent it wasn’t as good Give it a try and don’t blind buy it Not for the faint of heart

Wow, this one is a beast. On the top she's a heavy honeyed, citrus, spicy blend. The rose and plum add a thick, sweetness to the mix. It's lightened and carried by the florals, especially the neroli and labdanum that punch through the middle and round it all out nicely. Really complex and delicious, gorgeous for the colder months. Projection is huge, and it wears 8+hours on my skin. It's an extrait so the price is more than justified. Easily unisex and full bottle worthy in my opinion.

Not my favorite, but not bad. I disliked the strong opening. I think I dislike Rose de Mai mixed with labdanum...I am not sure what it is that makes me a tiny bit sickened. Could it be the rose and honey and neroli? Not sure. Once it starts the dry down, it is much more tolerable and wearable for my body chemistry. This is the second Wesker I have blind bought, and they both seem to be that way for me.

The DUA brand does a fabulous job at duping this fragrance. Beautiful composition. Dense honey floral fragrance with a whole lot of incense!! Oh, no!! I mentioned DUA!! I must work for them, right?! Cause apparently if you like the company, and mention them (god forbid!!), that must mean I'm in cahoots with DUA. Whoever wrote that needs to TOUCH GRASS!!!! Like sooner rather than later. 😂😂

It's weird sometimes I'm super on the fence about a fragrance until I see the notes. At first I wasn't sure I would like this but seeing the notes and being able to pick this apart a little, I like it. It somewhat reminds me of dancing roses from viktor&rolf, but this feels a lot more powdery.

314 All I get from this is bitter almond and boozy strong red plummy rose paste. It’s not bad if you’re looking for that. I like it overall. It’s becomes a powdery/musky honey rose at dry-down. 7/10-enjoy intensity, but have similar rose scents.
