Rubeus

Rubeus smells like DARK CHOCOLATE. Not just a hint of chocolate in the background — I’m talking about a deep, rich, almost decadent bite of very dark chocolate. It feels powdery at times, like unsweetened cocoa dusted over the composition, but also dense and indulgent, like breaking into a luxurious bar of the darkest chocolate you can imagine. The raspberry and cherry add a beautiful fruity brightness, giving the fragrance a slightly tart sparkle that keeps the gourmand profile from becoming too heavy. They bring a vivid, juicy contrast to that dark cocoa core. And then comes the depth. A touch of oud appears in the base — but don’t worry, this is not a barnyard oud at all. It’s smooth, refined, and perfectly integrated, adding a subtle woody darkness that amplifies the richness of the chocolate. With vanilla, caramel, hazelnut, and nougat weaving through the composition, the fragrance becomes incredibly addictive — like stepping into a luxurious dessert atelier where everything is darker, richer, and more sophisticated. After exploring several gourmand releases lately, Rubeus truly stands out. It manages to be deeply indulgent while still feeling refined and artistic — a balance that isn’t always easy to achieve in this category. For me, this was an instant love. A true heart-stealing fragrance that immediately earned a place among my favorite gourmands. The richness, the depth, the way those dark chocolate notes blend with the fruits and creamy sweetness... it’s simply addictive.

For the performance it is overpriced. But as a fragrance, its nice, sticky chocolatey, cherry is in the background. Nothing to hate, not headache inducer. It is not listed, but have some alcoholic note. Nice, really nice perfume. Edit: when settles it reminds me on chocolate cherry pralines which were popular in the 90ies. I mean, its not bad, just that is actually unique.

Unique, gorgeous gourmand. Thick chocolate and caramel with traces of oud underneath to give more heft. There's fruitiness from the cherry but the raspberry is more prominent up top. Reminds me of the raspberry filled chocolates in a fancy chocolate box. Nice to find a unique gourmand for a change instead of the same old tired-out formulas.

This is the definition of decadence. Smells like a fruity chocolate bonbon or cherries soaked in rose water then dipped in chocolate.

Apricot nougat & cherries... It starts apricots, nougat, cherries, & sticky chocolate dough. The calm down is quite rich sweet! something gourmand-ish with lucious cherries nougat & caramelized hazelnut. It's quite beautiful for a gourmand-ish blend.

A time machine to christmasses in the 90s when treats included little chocolate barrels full of kirsch or brandy. This smells like one of those little chocolate barrels, but curiously, one that has just come out of a swimming pool.
