Oud Davana

Facebook lead me to the Whind website. I get a lot of perfume ads...no idea why....LOL!! I purchased a discovery set to try all of the perfumes. My hands down favorite is Oud Davana. It does lean a little bit masculine, but I think I can pull it off as a woman. This is the closest to the scent that I've been searching for years. I'm trying to recreate what my daddy smelled like when he came home from work. It was Bay Rum, leather and cigar smoke. I can get the tobacco and leather notes in this perfume.

I blind bought this. At first I really really disliked the spicy opening but oh my god the dry down. I could not stop smelling this on my skin. Warm, intoxicating fragrance. Quickly became one of my favorites. Wore this on my wedding day this past summer.

Musky slightly leathery oud. Davanna, clear present and pleasing. Opens with a nice savoury pistachio note with spice from pepper and saffron. Sadly don't detect the coffee in the mid but I have trouble detecting coffee in a lot of frags which state it as present. Sometimes coffee can come across 'gravy' like so maybe it's there in the savoury cloud. Jasmine barely there but blends well with the davanna. Once the muskiness settles, a touch more syrupy sweetness comes through from the davanna as the sandalwood starts to shine. Spicy savoury start to a sweet mellow dry down. This will take more wears to properly assess but to this point, I'm not disappointed. Reminds me of a fuller bodied, less dry Marrakech Intense by Aesop. It makes me want to keep sniffing my wrist so that's always a good sign for me. Rarely have I had a fragrance by Jerome epinette that disappoints and a few of those are unique masterpieces. If it is strictly oud you're after then you will probably go elsewhere, if you want oud with a twist, then this may be your bag. Definitely sample this first before committing. The price point will be a sticking point for some.

A nice oud fragrance! I don’t think its for me but I could see others really enjoying it. I don’t really smell the rose or coffee note on me.
