I missed buying a bottle when our stores carried it at Christmas, so when I found a body mist at Dollar General the other day, I was rather pleased. It is light. Lighter than I like. That's expected at this price. But I am pleasantly surprised! Many fragrances made to honor or picture the past are horribly irrelevant. This fragrance smells slightly vintage and definitely appropriate. It actually could have been released in Whitney's own era and (better yet) would suit a mature woman with youthful taste OR a younger woman with timeless taste! Wearable. Likeable. You would be hard pressed to hate this one, unless you smell unfortunate in florals. Whitney is not a true floral, however. This is a lovely balance of sweet and fruit and floral. I smell pear! Pear is my favorite fruit note and also present in Ralph Lauren Woman, a distant fragrance cousin. And although it smells exactly like neither, the balance of fruit and floral in this happy melding reminds me of Body Fantasies Twilight Mist and also Amber Romance. They aren't dupes - they are all unique. If you like one, however, you could easily enjoy the others. I grab either of these two when I wish to smell feminine and effortlessly GOOD. I've never had anything but smiles and pleased faces when people are around these two. They are sweet and uplifting and attractive. And so is this. :D Conclusion: If you have a chance at an inexpensive bottle of the edt, spray lavishly and ENJOY. Whitney smells far better than the price point. <3

Oh, this is very nice. I snagged a bottle on eBay for about $17.00. Its very light gardenia but also fresh and green. Sits fairly close to the skin and lasts quite awhile. It's a yes from me!

To start,I don't know why people are saying things on here,if they haven't even tried the Fragrance??? Like I get that y'all are upset, but if you haven't even tried it, why bother to write anything? 😕 secondly, I bought this during Christmas at Walmart, I hadn't seen anyone talking about it what so ever. So I just bought it, hoping fragrantica would finally list it here. Now that it is finally listed on here, I'll review this as best as I can. The bottle design is elegant yet simple, but the cap is much too tight around the sprayer, you pull it one too many times,and your going to pull the sprayers metal ring off as well. But it's so tall, that the cap,it also wiggles like crazy? It's a terrible cap design. Quality of materials are good, but design is a bit poorly executed. The fragrance it's self, it's just a sort of basic, white floral fragrance. Upon first spray I'm hit with gardenia, and neroli. When it starts to settle, on my skin, it comes off a tad soapy, only a tad though. After 15 minutes or so, it starts to settle into a softer smell. You start to really get the night blooming jasmine and the Ylang -ylang. On my skin, it only projects for about an hour, and then it just gets close to the skin,after that first couple of hours. You'll still smell it for a few hours, it's just not the best at projecting for long periods of time. On the skin, you'll be left with delicate white florals and cashmere. If I had to compare this Fragrance to absolutely anything, it only SLIGHTLY reminds me of the original Kim Kardashian Fragrance, by Kim Kardashian. That one that is super heavy on the gardenia. I only get reminded of that Kim Kardashian Fragrance for about a half hour or so. It's along the same DNA though IMO, but this would be like the tiny baby of that smell, it's not the mom like Kim K's Fragrance is. Skip past the sister, and her older daughters. This is definitely the baby version of that Fragrance. It's only loud for a few seconds, then it's very soft and delicate, rather comforting. I think this would best be suited for spring and summer seasons. It would shine beautifully, especially in the daytime. If you like basic white floral Fragrances, nothing screechy or annoying, you'll probably enjoy this. I think that's all I can think of for now. Lol

I like this fragrance and I feel blessed to have found it at a discount store. I am glad to be able to be a contributing part of Whitney's estate, also. Whitney Houston is a feel good fragrance. This eau de toilette smells much better on the skin, than it does spraying the top with the atomizer. I was so pleasantly surprised. I love the notes, especially, the gardenia. All of the notes are blended very well to create this awesome, musky fruity-floral. Fruity-florals are everywhere in this day and age, but Whitney's is done differently. This fragrance has a touch of maturity to it, due to the woody and cashmere dry down. It does not last super long and does need to be reapplied after about 2.5 hours. This was a blind buy. I bought this for myself as a Valentine's Day gift. I decided to wear it yesterday. My husband and I went for a 2-day getaway for our anniversary. I decided to wear Whitney Houston as we checked out of our room and ran a couple errands. It was absolutely perfect for daily activities. My husband loves it. I understand that the fragrance was created posthumously and Whitney never gave her approval. I can respect people's concerns about this issue. For this reason, Whitney Houston Eau de Toilette may not be a safe blind buy. But... for those of us who want to contribute to her estate, love Whitney Houston, and just want to smell great--this is a wonderful find and a great gift!

As a lifelong Whitney fan, I had to pick this up. I’m glad her family decided to put this fragrance out in her memory. It’s a light and simple skin scent. Brightness up top with the pear leaf and neroli. White florals (gardenia and jasmine) with a prominent musky base on the dry down. There’s an innocence to this, and I could see her wearing this more in her early days. I appreciate family’s contribution in putting something together that they felt was symbolic of her. I saw there was a mention of Kim Kardashian’s first scent in comparison as they share a lot of the DNA (but this is much lighter!). They are so right, KK’s is the “mom” and Whitney’s is the “baby.” It’s a good example on why it’s hard to judge on notes alone when selecting a fragrance.

There's something 90s-nostalgic in this. Pear leaf? Something beyond the white florals reminds me of watermelon bubblegum. Elegant yet playful, I can see how it could be a nod to Amarige. I'd recommend the EDT as blind-buy safe and daytime-safe. It may not be for everyone, but the current 2.38 rating is grossly unjustified. Note that there's an EDP of this too and they look identical!

This one is late 90’s, early 2000’s. It is a white floral for sure but the pear lightens it up, and the pink pepper makes it feel brighter, more modern and even more timeless. Look, I’m not all for the estate cash grab, but the fragrance itself is fine, is better than most celebrity fragrances and seems safe. Even with a blind buy, I don’t think you would be disappointed.

While it may be a bit controversial since this is a posthumous release (RIP to in my opinion the greatest vocalist of all time)... I can't help to feel like when smelling this, it's matches Whitney's vibe. I agree with the other reviews as well, this is a white floral fragrance that is still upbeat not cloying & very fresh. I bought this due to being a fan but I actually fell in love with the scent. The fresh pear leaf & gardenia is prominent when you first spray it which to me is a lovely combination because it freshens up the gardenia which I love when it's fresh smelling and not cloying. I find myself wanting to spray this when I get out of the shower the most. If you don't love harsh white florals but want to give white floral scents a try or looking for a fresh one this one is really good in my opinion. I smell the jasmine bloom in this scent 10-15 minutes after spraying it on but the pear leaf stays throughout the whole wear. Upbeat bright kind of floral scent. Love it.

Not everyone is sold in this world. There are so many good, kind, truthful , empathic people. Maybe this perfume is inspired by Whitney? Maybe this fragrance is a mix of fragrances she loved and wore? Maybe this is an aromatic portrait of the greatest singer of all times? Maybe Whitney herself wanted to produce it and everything was ready, including pyramid, design, but she just couldn’t make it... Maybe she wanted to live, to be alive forever not only in her songs but as well in a precious smell? Maybe the perfume master wanted the whole world to get aquatinted with the aroma, which reminds about unique Whitney Houston? 🦋 There are so many positive sides of it, please do not judge the creation 🙏🏻 P.S. I love WH so much and I would be happy to try this small masterpiece 💓

I also agree that this perfume should not exist without Whitney being able to try it and put her seal of approval on it but when I saw it in walmart I did not realize it was a new release by her estate just thought I had not seen it before so I bought the body spray and it was so lovely that I went on scentbeauty.com and bought the eau de toilette and body lotion set because cheaper than walmart. The lotion is also very nice. Will update this review after I try the EDT. Pretty sure it will also be very nice. Body spray just has no longevity. Edit: I love the edt, just wish it were stronger. Musky floral. Very nice. I imagine Whitney would have liked this, nothing not to like. Not too sweet or too anything.

@kgloverii I ain't with the cash grab either, especially against that big foreheaded money grubbing pat garland! but that is beside the point. if this is supposed to embody the spirit of Whitney, I say they did a great job because we know that she gave her best as far as her talent and she was a classy lady and always put together on stage and screen, however she was laid back and down to earth in real life. The way this smells says it all. Sweet and Sophisticated. and Fresh, Floral, Fruity. Not too much, very well blended! They should have named it Nippy!

I do understand every point of view and i also agree with many, but, i find a bit stupid and very useless and counterproductive when people vote about longevity, sillage ecc, giving them a bad score without having even tried the perfume, only because they don’t like the background of the product. I would like i could trust what i see on Fragrantica as it is my point of reference about perfumes, but i’ve learned that, unfortunately, i can not. What a shame. Anyway, looking at the notes, i would give a sniff to this perfume, just to try.

Unlike Prince, this didn’t disappoint. Sorry dude. It surely isn’t a modern gourmand or vanilla. It’s true to the 90s but updated and modern. Though there are no aldehydes, it’s floral for sure. Much like the new Jaclyn Smith, this is a wonderful arrangement. Not just a cash grab but thoughtful if not demure, per se. Florals like this are becoming rare. It’s nice to get a fresh take rather than have to hunt a retro. It can be casual or elegant. But there’s nothing sweet about this.

I'm willing to try just hope that the family is behind this perfume named after one of the greatest, THE VOICE" Whitney! 💔 🌹 8/9/1963 - 2/11/2012 So folks I read that her estate/family is involved in the process they wanted to continue to tribute to her legacy through fragrance, and the singer's estate wanted to release a fragrance in her honor. One Love WHITNEY HOUSTON!

It upsets me to see people comparing this fragrance to Death & Decay or Kocain with their fake votes. Whitney was a real human. She deserved better than the hand she was dealt, and despite her choices regarding her personal life, she was a good person with enormous talent. Why ridicule her in death? Some people are heartless.

At first I smelled the gardenia which I DO NOT like in perfumes, but once it settles in I get the jasmine which I LOVE. I think it’s a pretty, well balanced white floral. Nothing to flip your wig over, but still I enjoy it! I got it dirt cheap, so I’m not complaining.

jamiesmith below has a good point—but for me, the 90s flashbacks I’m getting are more along the lines of Perry Ellis 360 or Elizabeth Arden Sunflowers, or Giorgio Wings! It’s a fresh and innocent perfume, like young Whitney in the I Wanna Dance With Somebody video.

Got 100ml for £10 at savers - for some reason the box says deluxe edition, not sure why. it's okay and not unpleasant but to me it honestly smells like bathroom spray. like the spray you use after a poo. love her music though and she was a wonderful singer

In replyto WinterSneeuw. They are trying to make money out of her name. I'm always willing to try / buy new fragrances but in the case of already deceased persons, out of respect for them, I never even try those fragrances.

Years ago i remember reading in a few articles Amarige was her signature scent. Does this smell similar?? Sadly it's not available in my country so I'll never know.
