Her | Her

Okay so when I went to write this review based on my little sample bottle, I hadn't sprayed it in a while and when I smelt the cap it was this yummy, happy floral, almost had me kicking my feet at remembering what it smells like, so this is the lasting scent of it. When I sprayed it to test it again, definitely got that citrus hit with a bit of an earthy bergamot underneath. I can also smell the lemon grass dry down, I think it's quite funky considering it eventually sways to the flowery dry down. I think this is perfect for all seasons, I can equally picture wearing it out to coffee with friends in summer, and a cozy winter date night.

I really love this. It took awhile to grow on me because I love the his/her perfume from this line and I found this a bit too muted in comparison but it has become one of my favourites in summer. It has a slight smokiness to it which might be the vetiver in the top notes, but it's just got this gorgeous, refreshing bergamot punch to it while still being subtle. I keep reaching for this even though the longevity isn't brilliant. It's a perfect summer scent.

This fragrance and Haze are my favourite offerings from Who Is Elijah to date. Her/Her is citrusy, spicy and not too sweet - perfect for warm winter, early spring and late autumn sunny days. It is the closest fragrance I have ever found to a spray body cologne by Trelivings called "Vitamin F", which I absolutely adored in the 1990s. I like to occasionally layer Her/Her with Black Pepper by Korres for some extra peppery zing!

And here I am on the last of the set, which confirms the feeling I've had so far: it's a collection of carbon copies of the trendiest products already on the market. In this case, it's very citrusy (well, à la Hermès), with a great "splash" aspect. Not really deep on the petitgrain/rosemary side, and really light on the orange blossom - but still pretty damn good. With a soft musk-white drydown, it's the perfect combo for an all-purpose fragrance that will sell well. For originality, however, we'll have to pass again.

Like a fresh-pressed juice from a farmers' markets; vegetable-y, spiced, and fresh in a way I like a lot more than Eau by Who is Elijah. Settles into something slightly warmer. Definitely not for everyone, but I think this is quite pleasant fragrance. Reminds me a little bit of those dead wife flashbacks in movies. It would suit a lot of those women.

A citrus/musk fragrance, with hints of green and floral notes. A safe warm weather daytime scent. More feminine although the vetiver and rosemary give it a more unisex, herbal feel. I quite like it, but - and it’s a big but - it has awful sillage and longevity! Gone within an hour. Wouldn’t purchase full size for that reason.

Big citrus hit in the opening, sharp and pungent, but it dries down very quickly to a warm, musky floral. The sharp citrus doesn't last very long. Really nice and clean summer fragrance and easy to wear. I have never smelled Bergamote 22, but this appears to be a dupe based on the notes. 6/10

very sharp, citrusy to start, mellows to lemongrass which i enjoy, but does not last long at all which is disappointing!

I had a chance to test this after hearing good things about it but I really found it to be too sharp and not all that appealing. The balance just seemed to be off. I would like to give it another chance in less humidity though and will come back if I do!

Has a fun lemon lime and bitters feel to it because of the herby bitter sour citrus scent. Its a bit of a surprise. Still no escaping the bitter sour elements so try first.

i like this fragrance. but the silage and longevity need to do better.

I had really high hopes for this based on the reviews and notes but honestly it just settles down into an amber scent within five minutes or so. Which is fine if you like amber scents, but I can’t stand them.

If you’ve ever used Bug Soother natural bug spray, that’s what this smells like. A vanilla lemongrass combo that smells good but makes me feel like I’m out in the woods avoiding mosquito bites.

This starts off smelling like ginger and bean sprouts, then softens into a sweet orange blossomy floral. Too harsh in the beginning, too sweet at the end. Not a fan.

Dupe for Bergamote 22 body lotion. It doesn’t open like B22 so feels flat by comparison.

Her by Who is Elijah is a very pretty bergamot and petitgrain fragrance, that despite being marketed as a feminine release, could very easily be unisex. I am testing this fragrance in the midst of Winter, and admittedly this is not the right season to wear this scent. Her needs warm skin and a warm climate to bring out the sparkling citrus top notes, which include bergamot, petitgrain and grapefruit. The opening is a little sour and green, but after 30-minutes the scent develops into a sweet, slightly musky blend of non-descript florals with residual citrus accords and dry vetiver. This fragrance does remind me of Le Labo's Bergamote 22, and "bergamot" was the first note that I detected soon after spraying. Supposedly, several of their fragrances resemble well-known releases from the Le Labo line, and I don't know how I feel about it. I find these fragrances a little expensive to be a dupe fragrance line. I was pleased to see that this fragrance is an EDP, and I had high hopes that this would be a long lasting citrus scent. Unfortunately, Her by Who is Elijah has very average projection and longevity. It was almost non-existent on my skin after 2-hours, which is such a shame. I am surprised that an Australian fragrance house hasn't thought to create a long-lasting Summer scent to withstand our intense, dry Summers.

Bergamote 22. Just a bit stronger on the florals in the dry down. EDIT: the notes in this one is an exact copy and paste of Bergamote 22, the only difference being the omission of vanilla and the addition of rosemary. Which sucks because I found that the vanilla in Bergamote 22 rounds the whole scent. Rosemary doesn't necessarily make it too "dry" but it's less rounded in a sense.

The cedar and lime combo in this sits on top of a skin musk. It’s very wearable and enjoyable and gives Nuit D’ete by Odette Parfum vibes, but the cedar pulls just a touch play dough-y on my skin. There might be a touch of petrichor in this and that is why it doesn’t smell perfectly clear and distinguishable to my nose.

Verrry citrus. Top notes are a juicy bergamot bitter grapefruit and petit grain punch in the face. Very natural smelling citrus blend. The opening is a real aromatherapeutic citrus hit. As it dries down it’s sadly more lemongrass which I’m not overly fond of.
