People comparing this to Santal 33 and saying it’s a dupe (to absolutely no one in particular), get a job (a well paying one). I will die on this hill when I say that this is the better of the two (and I own both of these fragrances). This 1000000% times better, not as linear, smells like you’ve just opened up a new pair of shoes, NICE ONES (AT FULL PRICE), not Asics, maybe New Balances... something modest but sexy, a little sporty. This is the cool girl of fragrances, her name is probably something like Chloe or Georgia and she works in digital marketing, she supports her friends in times of need, wears nice jewellery and doesn’t post often on Instagram. Reliable, positive, a polite girls girl but still knows how to have fun. Is friends with everyone, mysterious but approachable (in the most enviable way imaginable). Anyways, this fragrance is really nice and Australian made, comparable to a Tim Tam. Straight 10/10.

I Actually really love this one, i see it is a dupe of santel 33, which i must try. Its fresh and clean i recieve alot of compliments when i wear this. Whch i find funny as i have alot of high end fragrances ive worn but havent had the amount of compliments wearing this i lve only had it 2 weeks, my husband is loving the smell aswel he wears it to work also recieving alot of compliments lol I guess it depends on your body chemistry how the smell comes off?? It last till the next day on my skin. Sometimes i can smell it in my hair aswel. It rubs off on to my clothing or pillows lol works well for me and hubby it will deffinately be a repurchase for us( along with santel 33🤭 )

Bought this at the start of my fragrance journey thinking it was Santal 33, realised it wasn’t Santal 33, purchased Santal 33, and yet this is my favourite of the two. For like half the price, you get all the yummy sandalwood notes plus a cleaner opening and more addictive dry down. I would say it definitely tends more masculine, in the absence of any feminine notes, but not in a bad way- I would never smell this on another girl and think it’s a men’s fragrance. Overall, I would give this 8/10. The opening could be less harsh, but the opening of Santal 33 is sooo much worse. I will be buying more when i run out!

Out of my Who Is Elijah discovery set, I would likely purchase this first. It's a perfect unisex balance, bit of floral, bit of wood and spice. It makes me think of wearing a warm brown cardigan in a library on an autumn evening. I think this would make a great signature scent, might make it my winter day-to-day perfume.

My husband received it as a gift, but I am the one wearing it. It smell fresh and clean. Its a light parfum and it doesn't stay for a long time. I wish I could buy it again.

My first, somewhat incongruous, feeling was that it reminded me of pet store smells, like the hay you feed to guinea pigs, or the plastic-wrapped seed sticks you buy for birds... Not a negative review: for my part, it's a very sweet, soothing scent. The unisex aspect evoked by the name is effectively materialized by a chord of notes that balance each other very well (the floral-violet aspect on the one hand, the other citrus/light/water bubble EdT-type for rich men from the 2010s), even a little eau de cologne something. A perfume you wear after a shower to smell clean, and carry with you a little je-ne-sais-quoi. Again, not necessarily transcended by the originality of the creation (although it's already a little more original than the others), but it's not unpleasant either. On the other hand, the brand is really riding the Byredo/Dyptique etc. trend, and it's vaguely, vaguely, vaguely a "small house" creation (creatively speaking).

If you love Santal 33, you might like this, but be warned that it isn’t nearly as aggressive & in your face! If you *wish* you liked Santal 33, but you can’t actually enjoy it because it smells like dill pickles whenever you spray it on, you probably will like this and should give it a try. It’s a softer, cooler, dill-free sandalwood & violet leaf. It falls somewhere between Santal 33 and Marc Jacobs Daisy on the scale of violet leaf fragrance. I don’t feel like it’s masculine, but my man could easily wear this (although he doesn’t need to bc I gave him my Santal 33 - he manages to wear it and not smell like a pickle jar, lucky him).

I would describe this as a completely unisex, office safe clean scent for casual wear. The first thing I smelled when I sprayed it was the sandalwood, but once it settles and warms on the skin, the floral notes and spicy cardamom come out to play. It's not wildly unique or special, but like many of its sandalwood sisters and brothers, it's an easy reach if you want to feel clean, bright, and put together on a warm summer day. 6/10

Reviewing three years after first getting this, His Her was the first perfume I bought when this actually became more of a hobby. I really liked it, it made me feel nostalgic for the scent of my childhood best friend's house. But after venturing into florals/getting to know my preferences, I realized how sharp this is, and that it wasn't really my vibe. I gave it to my boyfriend and I love it on him.

9/10, I like it. Citrusy, zesty, woody, kinda smells like soap, and vaguely smells like leather.

On initial spray this is a chemical mess but give it 15 minutes to smooth out. Sweet dusty cardamon, sandalwood, amber, bitter fir, ginger, violet leaves drifting on the breeze. Like a pine tree, crushed violet leaves, suede leather sprinkled with powdered ginger and hot sand, the whiff of medicinal band aids and vanilla biscuit crumbs. Reminds me of Kat Von D Sinner (version 2), with extra violet. Or Lynx Africa for men, with extra violet. (Thanks Notlikethebrochure for nailing down the Lynx reference.) As for Santal 33, yes its like that and not at the same time. Its more accessible, gentler, and more lovable like many reviewers noted. The "boy next door" version of Santal 33. You're smelling similar notes but in gentle mist form that wraps around you like a comforting hug, and the extra violet warms the heart. Santal 33 has aggressive notes that barks louder like a crazed dog proving the saying "more is less".

I received a sample of this as a freebie with my purchase of another WIE fragrance. I didn't know that it is considered a dupe of Santal 33, and I absolutely LOATHE Santal 33! I also loathe Maison Margiela's dupe Autumn Vibes, so I was fully prepared to loathe this fragrance too, but I must say that having tried it I have been pleasantly surprised. If you take the dill pickle and weird mould notes out of Santal 33 you have His/Her. There is a sort of creamy warmth (possibly the musk) which I find comforting. Although it is not listed as one of the notes, I also sense the slightest hint of leather. I doubt that I will commit to purchasing a full-sized bottle, however, I will certainly use up my sample bottle. And I think that if we are comparing any WIE fragrances to Santal 33, then to my nose Nightcap and Morning After are much closer to the le Labo scent.

His/Her is one of any number of fragrances that are inspired by Santal 33, and why wouldn't it be? Santal 33 is the defining fragrance of a zeitgeist, and any cool-aspiring brand would be foolish not to ride its coattails. There are very subtle differences. His/Her slightly amps up the florals and also the coniferous notes, resulting in a fragrance that is both more feminine and more sinus-clearingly bright. It circumvents the "dill" note that some find objectionable in Santal 33. It's smoother and a touch more traditionally feminine-leaning, though still perfectly unisex. This was released in 2018, though, and by that time this profile had been released so times by so many imitators. It's a pleasant enough fragrance, but it flogs a dead horse.

This is definitely a spicy woody and fresh. For me it opens up with the violet and cardamon being really prominent, it’s unique and an easily recognisable scent. The floral doesn’t take over the spicy or woody and adds just a nice balance of femininity which is smart because it’s a unisex fragrance. Also I feel like the base carries this perfume out very well, the sandalwood, musk and oud is apparent to me however it wouldn’t be one I would wear in summer, it’s definitely winter/autumn vibes for me. I would suggest ordering a sample before committing to a full sized bottle because I don’t think it’s to everyone’s liking. Wear time on my skin 4-5hrs.

This is a true unisex, ‘clean’ smelling perfume. It doesn’t smell woody, warm spicy, powdery. It just smells clean and that is all. Lovely.

This fragrance is a weird, headache inducing, not at all pleasant scent. Despite that, I keep sticking my nose in it, making my housemates smell it, then laughing till I wheeze at their reaction. It's joyously terrible. On skin - Definitely spicy, green, fresh. Think hiking through a fir forest in summer, wearing bug spray, and that's this. On clothes - just the hint of a slightly sweeter, warmer edge manages to appear. Still bug spray in a fir forest, but now you're smelling your nice washing powder too. What's really odd? In the air, as a room fragrance, I get the faintest hints of florals and spices that occasionally flit past and are gone before I get to enjoy them. The projection is enormous, and longevity it beastly, so you're really going to have to like this a lot. It survived the washing machine. Overall, absolutely do not recommend a blind buy. Whatever is in this is incredibly sensitive to individual chemistry, and this stuff hates me.

Pickles? The opening is violet leaf and heavy on the cardamom. Then, the zinginess of fir. Woods, pickly sandalwood and oud, dominate the drydown. This leans masculine. It's really boring. I hate "unisex" perfumes as a statement...his/her, nobody is more like it.

This is definitely a men’s fragrance. I really do not like the smell. Smells like Lynx Africa.

When first sprayed onto skin, His | Her by Who is Elijah, smells strongly of green bergamot, violet leaf and synthetics. It's borderline unpleasant, with an underlying chemical aroma that reminds me of pool chlorine. I do, however, find that if I apply less of this perfume, that synthetic chemical scent is less pronounced. Although unisex, this fragrance is more masculine than feminine. It smells almost damp on my skin, with a heavy dose of violet leaf, fir, cardamom, sandalwood and white musk. Many reviewers compare this fragrance with Le Labo's Santal 33. I personally don't understand the comparisons, as I don't smell as much violet in Santal 33 as I do in His | Her. After 30-minutes of wear, His | Her starts to drydown to something more palatable and pleasant, and has a clean, almost soapy base of woods and musk. It reminds me of fresh linen, (if the laundry detergent had a violet heavy scent attached to it). I have to be in the right mood to enjoy violet-dominant fragrances, as I find the scent quite polarising and borderline headache-inducing. Many violet scents have a powdery undertone, however, His | Her wears more musky, green and woodsy. I would refrain from blind purchasing this scent, and highly recommend sampling before buying. Do not be fooled into believing this is a Le Labo Santal 33 dupe.

Just got gifted a 10ml bottle of this fragrance. Initially when I smelt it, it instantly made me think of hay or the wood section in a hardware store. But after getting a second sniff the violet and oud really come through and give this fragrance such an inviting and clean scent. This literally smells like if you were putting dryer sheets in the dryer and then smelt your hand. Clean, musky, and oud. I very much enjoy this scent and will definitely be wearing this as an everyday casual fragrance. Highly recommend if you enjoy scents from the house of Le Labo or just musky clean scents in general.

First on, it’s Oddity by Rag + Bone: Lightly woody peppery, faint sense of incense and vanilla. It’s a LOT like Oddity, plus a hint of vanilla. The cardamom is pronounced as it dries, a green cardamom, then it fades to almost nothing but cardamom at the end. Nice overall.

This leans more woody, fresh and floral on me which I quite like. It is similar to Santal but doesn't have that pickley element to it. It's softer and I think a little more feminine. Less is more, I have 1 spray on and can still smell it almost 4 hours later.

I’m not thrilled with the rest of this line but I like this one. It’s santal 33 with more of a cardomom hit and I’m a big fan of cardomom. Trying to decide if this would be redundant in my collection given I own jo malone mimosa and cardomom.

It’s funny I’m reviewing these again and I actually prefer nomad over this. Yes it’s a santal 33 dupe but I’ve changed my mind and think it’s nowhere near as nice. I find this has something irritating in it that gets up my nose.
