Morning After

I really like this fragrance as an alternative experience to the usual middle eastern/gourmand choices of mine. Yes it's nothing new, yes it's copying some of the more innovative creations like Santal 33, but for less than half the price, it's surprisingly long lasting and with enough subtle differences, I think it's well worth the purchase. After a strong first spray of earth meets woods meets spice, Morning After leaves a beautiful intoxicating citrus tail on my skin, and lasts remarkably long on fabric.

This is a very approachable and smooth sandalwood scent. It’s quite soft and fluffy, with some powderiness from the violet and paperiness from the papyrus. Fairly linear and good projection. Not screechy at all. Nice for cold days.

Genuinely one of the best perfumes I’ve ever smelt, it’s the most beautiful sandalwood perfume of them all in my opinion, it has a lot more going on for it than santal 33 which I found quite boring compared to this.

Lovely well balanced gentle fragrance. I got some recently and go to it almost every day. I highly recommend it.

First of all, what a genius marketing strategy to sell your discovery set at such a low price with redeemability on full size, Bravo. The struggle I have with WIE (and many, many more) is that amber on me is a people repellent, including myself, so going through the discovery set, the majority I had to place in a steel case in the bunker in case they leaked, but Morning After is a keeper. Thankfully, the leather and sandalwood screams through this on me and I couldn't be happier. Is it Santal 33-ish? absolutely and I'm not sad about that. The question you have to ask yourself is if you want to support a corporate giant like Le Labo's mum, Estee Lauder, or a small independent on the rise. I know where my money is going. Comparison on notes is almost identical, the price point couldn't be further apart. I can't decide whether its a good or a bad thing that I don't get the pickle note everyone's talking about because I love me a good pickle. In my area at least, when you look for stockists, it's a long list of Priceline stores and that should tell you that this is a great mid-point house for people delving in to the world of scent. I'd drop some coin on the full size of this, but not before I get Ocean Eyes.

Dupe of Santal 33 with a musky facet added to the drydown. It doesn't distinguish it too much from 33, but I do enjoy this. It's a soft, musky sandalwood and smells warm and inviting up close. A really nice, clean, woody fragrance for anytime. Has a tendency to smell pickly. I'm not really sure if I'd drop cash on this - I'd rather just get a small size of the real thing than a dupe. This house doesn't claim to be a dupe house, but all their fragrances are blatant copies of popular niche fragrances, down to the exact note listing. 6/10

Exactly as the user described below. This is a Santal 33 dupe with musk. It’s a more gentle version but still unisex.

This smells kind of like sushi to me. Especially the sushi seaweed. That’s great in my opinion.

On first spraying, this is almost indistinguishable from WIE's Nightcap - leather, leather and more leather. Unlike Nightcap, however, the dry down is more nuanced. The powdery and musk accords become apparent after a couple of hours. The longevity of this fragrance is better than most of the WIE offerings - after twelve hours it is still slightly stronger than a skin scent. I like this scent better than Nightcap, which is leather overkill with no redeeming dry down (Nightcap also reminds me of my fragrance nemesis - Santal 33). I don't think I would buy a full bottle of this (I have a sample), but there is a certain comforting element to this fragrance which I may further warm to in time. Update: Today I got into my car for the first time since last Saturday (five days ago), when I was wearing Morning After. I could still smell the leather scent on the seatbelt strap which crosses my chest - talk about longevity!

Wanted to love this one but unfortunately felt very underwhelmed. I guess it kind of smells like Santal 33 but not really as good. It throws a lot of vanilla on my skin. I also have His|Hers from WIE and that one is better in my opinion. No vanilla smell and a bit more of a freshness and floral smells just overall done better. Upset I bought a 50ml bottle of this. I guess I’ll have to use it all up now :(

I bought the discovery set. I tried to wear it and all I can smell is squished ants. Which I know not everyone can smell. But I get the same smell from santal 33. Not overly impressed with the perfumes, like I wouldn't go out of my way to buy a full size. A few of them actually smell like the same perfume: This and His/her for example which I can see someone else has pointed out.

Pretty basic Santal 33 dupe. It smells nice for sure, just not super interesting. Also smells very similar to His/Hers from the same brand.

a friend gave me 10mL of this. it's very weak which is frustrating. from the bottle it smells like this perfume my ex bffl used to wear before she went kind of demonic on my ass. it sprays on smelling similar to kirk's passiona which is nice. then it turns reeeally green, but not astringent. just like a vaseful of cuttings. but then within a few minutes it sort of gets this sweet caramel PR girlie nature to it, kind of like replica jazz club from far away. the evolution is really quick i'm talking 2 minutes tops. it's eh and it pisses me off idk i just feel like the non-linear journey was kind of effing with me. :/

Bought the discovery set and most of them are awful including this one. Had to shower with a lot of soap and scrubbing to remove the smell of some of these perfumes.

Smells like wood and leather. Very linear. I'm not impressed at all with this brand so far.

This is poor quality $170 USD rip off of Santal 33. I looked into the brand to see what was up because almost $200 USD for a bad dupe is crazy, and they seem to be a pretty unethical and dishonest company. Dossier's dupe is like $40 and much better than this. I came across this after my friend bought it in a shop thinking the brand is a luxury brand that makes scents unique to Australia. Upon looking more into the company, they market themselves as a luxury niche fragrance house with artisans (their wording) that crafted their fragrances themselves and make each bottle by hand. Every one of their scents is a poor quality dupe of a very famous fragrance and they post videos of their perfume being made by machine. I'm not anti-dupe or anything, but posing as a luxury house making expensive, niche, handcrafted and individually handmade fragrances and selling a line of poor quality, machine made dupes of some of the most recognized fragrances in the world is unethical (and lying about them being handmade is actual fraud).

I don't usually "hate" perfumes, there are a lot of perfumes I don't really care for but with layering and strategic placement I can get away with wearing most smells. A lot of scents I don't like but I don't find offensive, like potpourri rose, oud etc they are not to my taste but they aren't gross. This scent though... Is offensive. Is smells like cotch sweat. I've never once said a scent was disgusting except for this. It smells like a person who lives in a humid country, has an active job outside and has one unscented baby wipe to wash with. I have a tiny 2ml sample and have worn it on my skin to see if they bottle smell improves on me and it absolutely does not. It reminds me of the movie Monsters Inc where they spray deodorant called 'wet dog' 😅 if you want that shower clean feel but that depressed haven't showered in weeks smell then this is your friend! On a positive note, the name of this is so apt and spot on so 10/10 for that

I’m trying to find something nice to say about this. It’s powerful and really sticks around. Ok. So now that I’ve said that, I can say that this is one of the worst things I’ve ever smelled. I’m one of those “sandalwood sometimes smells like pickles” people. This is the worst offender I’ve found so far. It’s pickles and cardamom - very, very strong pickles and cardamom. I could not get this off of my skin fast enough. When I sprayed it, I actually swore. Disclaimer: if you aren’t one of the unfortunate pickle picker uppers like me, this is likely a very different experience for you. I love sandalwood and am bummed that it sometimes smells like pure pickle. But pickle people, you have been warned. Edit: my son just smelled it and said “pickles”. 😂

I’m sorry, but this is a hard pass for me. The opening was very screechy and harsh, and the dry down oddly smelled like woody pickles. I bought the discovery set, and this is already the fourth scent I’ve tried with none of them working for me.

The first spritz of Morning After by Who is Elijah was rather intriguing with a smooth cardamom accord and a hint of powdery violets. It was rather unique and piqued my interest, however, the scent soon changed and merged into something I find less easy to wear and more synthetic. Morning After is the scent of stale vodka, household cleaning products and dusty cedarwood chests. I disagree that this is a dupe of Le Labo's Santal 33. The scent pyramid may be close to the original, but the scent is far less refined, and dare I say, a little bit messy like it was put together by a perfumer with limited time to perfect it. Some reviewers have noted that Morning After smells similar to His | Her also by Who is Elijah. I agree that the two scents do share similarities, however, His | Her is more violet heavy and has a sparkling bergamot opening which is missing from Morning After's scent composition. I also smell more cedar than sandalwood in this fragrance and this may be due to my skin chemistry. Morning After is very unisex, and is a true androgynous scent. I am sure it will have its fans, but for me, the synthetic accords and cleaning product undertones are quite off-putting. On a more positive note, the longevity is rather impressive lasting a solid 7 hours on my skin with moderate projection.

This is a dupe of Santal 33. The leather note is fairly soft (more like a suede), and it doesn’t have a lot of projection - it’s Santal 33 delivered as a musky skin scent. This makes it more approachable for women who enjoy Santal 33 but have previously only worn very femme fragrances and might not be completely onboard with the idea of unisex fragrances. Looking for a more masculine-leaning, beast mode dupe of Santal 33? Try Nightcap (also by Who Is Elijah), which really ramps up the wood and leather and has VERY strong projection and longevity.

Almost every offering from this brand is a rip-off of various popular niche fragrances (at a very high price point!). Seems to me they are a dupe brand posing as a genuine fragrance house which is really disappointing. Would like to see them put out some original scents.

I wonder morning after meant. U slept with someone u are not supposed to and the feeling of oh sh t . Maybe that's how it smells. Bad memories, full.of regret.

I don’t know why anyone bothers with this brand, they’re just producing dupes. You may as well shop at Palermo perfumes.
