Up in the Air

It opens with a cognac note, I dont get the rum here, then it transits through tobacco to leather which is the main player here. Leather is the same as in Van Clief and Arpels Midnight in Paris. So who likes MIP he/she will like this one too. After the prominent leather, plum starts to be noticable and the styrrax. Very pleasent and serious scent. Luxurious. Dont know why the community is not talking about this one. Longevity and sillage still testing. Hope to write you more soon. Longevity: 8h+ Sillage: Strong 1-2h, then moderate

mmm... thats a gorgeous boozy scent that taps this thin line of unisex without feeling like I've stolen my husbands scent. The sweeter base makes it a slightly edgy and I can't stop sniffing my skin... For the context, I used to deeply dislike booziness in a scent, mainly because of Truth or Dear Naked I once blind-bought and hated for its screechy thinness and stickiness. Now, I've purposefully tested different unisex boozy offerings to find the one that I could wear with pleasure, and this is probably the best so far. Up in the Air smells like something one would wear flying on his/her private Jet with smooth white leather seats, smokey Scottsh whisky glass in hand listening Charlie Parker to relax. It is more balsamic and resinous compared to Chicago High (also whisky for me), also not as honeyed whilst having the same high-quality Cuban tobacco flair. For my nose, it has also the same expensive slighty smokey whisky association as Baraonda (not rum as noted here), but Up in the Air is deeper and more complex with lovely resins, smooth leather and buttery orris. In both, there is a rose that can't be detected directly, but adds a subtle floral twist. I can't detect plum in UITA neither chilli, but it has a very beautiful saffron supporting the leather undertones. Interestingly, once the initial sprays have settled and blended with the skin in an hour or so, the composition stays pretty much the same, not changing dramatically, all different angles playing in seamless chorus, whilst also detectable individually. Its a beautiful, comforting yet exciting blend, top notch quality. Good longevity and moderate projection. The whole Wide Society range is worth checking out (baby branch of The Different Company), with this and Sign of Times being my absolute must-haves. The price-point for quality is great.

Absolutely terrible. Smells like plastic-y leather. I hate it. 2/10
