#741 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I got this as a sample sprayette, as one should before buying any scent over $100. This is my first time with a Widian fragrance and it's a definite winner for me. Much fruitier at first (the raspberry does calm down), but close enough to Parfums de Marley's "Godolphin" and Tom Ford's "Tuscan Leather" that if you already have them or the bargain clones (Alhambra's "Toscano Leather", "Galatea" for the "Godolphin"), this would almost be a redundancy, unless your disappointment with those scents is the lack of bergamot. This leans a tad masculine with the leather and tobacco, but still unisex. It has great longevity and projection. Great quality overall. I think it's a good call for most environments and purposes, especially date night. Certainly won't offend anyone, but it will be noticed. It's not beast mode, but not stealth either, so don't overspray. Still, as pricey as this is, if I were going to drop this kind of coin on a scent, I didn't already own "Godolphin" and "Tuscan Leather" (as so many do), I'd get samples of this scent and those two and compare before deciding. Ajmal "Cuir Musc" is also kind of in this ballpark, though I'm not a huge fan of watermelon as a note. I think people who like a bit of citrus in their scents will definitely pick this "Aswan" over the others.

It’s a fragrance that not everybody will love, but I have had a pretty solid experience with it. Was quite disappointed with the smell at the begin, but it has such an amazing twist once on the dry down. It starts with a fruity, sweet, raspberry smell, which might sound like a feminine fragrance, but it’s actually unisex in my opinion. Later on, the smell becomes musky, leathery and you can also smell the tobacco, which was the thing that surprised me and made me like this perfume. I have had most of the times amazing performance, going up to 10h, and the sillage is quite strong in the first couple hours, but becomes with time regular. It can give you compliments, but if that’s your main goal of getting a fragrance, then this isn’t the one. You can wear all around the year, but I wouldn’t recommend during the summer, since the leathery and musky smell can make it unbearable on a hot day. Have heard that this is a sweet version of London, but I would recommend to try it yourself or check reviews of other people, since London has a much denser smell on the leather in my opinion, and I don’t smell the fruity smell on the dry down, but more like an amber scent. If you have the budget for this fragrance, then I believe that you should test it before taking your decision.

This is a really sophisticated well rounded perfume. A unique take and I absolutely love it. There’s a lot of comparison to London from the same collection since they list similar notes but they’re very different. While they’re both modern takes on classic concepts, London is primarily leather and more classic while Aswan is primarily woody and more modern. If you love one, you probably won’t love the other. The opening notes are very much raspberry and violets. The bergamot and pink pepper are there to help accentuate the raspberry and give it some freshness and kick. The sweet fruitiness of the top mixes beautifully with violets to give it complexity and lightness. This is complimented by a woodsy middle supported with a touch of leather in the base creating a classic and classy foundation. All of that is anchored with a just enough vanilla and coumarin to give everything some thickness and warmth. To me this takes a warm woody concept and makes it very inviting by adding flowers and berries. It’s classy without intimidation or pretension.

Now that i own both, i can tell you that they're different in my opinion. I had the opportunity to wear them throughout the day with full sprays, same scent profile yes but i think the people were expecting something totally different from a new realease and that's why i get the negative comments. Aswan is much brighter, fruit punchier with a lot of rasperry. The leather as already said plays a minor role in it. You get different things in London, it's much darker and smoother. The oud and the more prominent leather settle down the sweetness and give this classy feeling. I also get some good vanilla and amber in London and these 2 notes stay in the background from the top to the base. I don't get the vanilla at all in Aswan even tho it's a listed note because the fruits are overpowering the rest. Performance wise, Aswan is a freaking beast honestly, London is strong aswell but not as much as Aswan. I enjoy them both and if i had to choose one i would take London. Both are full bottle worthy in my opinion.

So far all I see is people comparing it to london and giving it bad marks because its flankerish. I havent smelled london so Im grading this by itself. I personally think this is beautiful. Is it insanely original? Maybe not but I think what it does is pretty unique. It is a very wearable blend of light fruity and dark. At the top you get a blast of the rasberry, its fresh and citrusy with the bergamot. The dry down is where it does become a more recognizable DNA. That ombre / tuscan leather vibe but with more vanilla. The dry down does get a TAD syrupy, which was a HUGE bummer because this has everything I want. I am hoping with more wearings I might see it differently but all in all I think this is a great release. I think this is perfect for spring and summer afternoon/evenings where if it does get a little syrupy it wont be cloying. Also will do amazing in the fall and winter if you want a break from your brooding dark winter staples.

Ozonic fruity leather. Fresh raspberry aerated and brightened to the extreme by citrus, pepper, and a strong violet leaf with the faintest hint of basal woods and leather. The patchouli and amber-vanilla add an additional sweet edge. Goes slightly powdery as it dries down. Strong projection for 3-4hr, longevity 8-10hr. While Aswan technically hits the same main accords as London, raspberry and leather, it's substantially different to my nose. London is rich and syrupy, balanced out by hints of its lighter top notes, where Aswan is in-your-face light 'n' fresh. London's leather note plays a clear second billing to the raspberry, but in Aswan that billing goes to violet and the leather is barely there.

Just opened my new bottle and I’m loving it! Raspberry creamy leather. Not too rough of a leather scent while the raspberry doesn’t come off too sweet either. Will update on the dry down. Update: After working a 10hr shift with changing my gloves multiple times throughout the day, the scent is a skin scent now but had a good projection for the first 2 hours considering I sprayed on both wrists and my chest (3 sprays total).

So good man... i enjoy this one a lot and honestly i was expecting less leather because of the reviews, but there is more leather than i expected in the background. Love London aswell and i might get it in the future. They're similar but different enough to own them both in my opinion.

Very easy to wear scent defiantly unisex, and smells really good on the skin. Gets you notice from the girls, and even guys. Not the most original scent but nonetheless still a great fragrance that smells amazing.

Excellent fragrance composed of sweet notes of raspberry and bergamot. The background is excellent, quite elegant and modern. I recommend this perfume to all lovers of fruity and leathery notes.

Wearing this right now and I’ve got to agree with the reviews claiming it smells a lot like London (also by Widian). This is a slightly sweeter and less leather forward version of London. I actually got a tad confused because I just bought London today and got a sample of this as well and when I was smelling it was like “did the lady give me a sample of London again?” This is still a beautiful fragrance but it’s so similar to London that it’s not a very original scent from the house. I think they could’ve done something vastly different with this one given that they named it after a city in Egypt. I was expecting more middle eastern elements maybe some Oud, or drier woods, mixed with some incense notes. That could’ve made this fragrance a bit more unique under the Blue Sapphire collection. Still though, it’s a good fragrance and I think people looking for more sweetness out of London might enjoy this.

Great fragrance. It definitely reminds me of Widian London, although I think the raspberry note is less prominent here. I can only imagine this fragrance on a woman if she is a 30+ mature well-put-together lady dressed in a leather jacket with confidence and elegance. Overall, it’s a very good fragrance, but personally, I would still choose Widian London over this one.

Almost a year in, i am updating my review up and positively. It is a good, fruity, unisex/ leaning feminine scent. No leather as compared to London. Easy to wear and, like all those, blasts atomically for over 12 hours. This one is so so. It smells like a fruitier and tone down version of London mixed with New York (both are amazing frags btw). This is the first one from Widian that i am not immediately a fan of. Just got it yesterday so will need to give it a few more tries. This one is very fruity and more feminine leaning.

Had really big expectations for this because Widian didn’t release anything for a long time. However after testing it twice it’s a fresher take on London,they both share so much similarities that it’s not even unique. It’s like they took out oud, lowered amount of raspberry and leather and added bergamot to freshen it up while umping musk and ambroxan. Big disappointment for now, it’s just okey, nothing special so don’t understand why they came up with this after so long period of time.

I am so glad I came across this perfume because it literally is everything I dislike. It's strong , it's spicy, it's sharp I can't wash it off my arm and it gives me headache. The guy at the store told me it's the best woody scent he came across, I don't smell much woody notes there, just sharp spices.

It's so bad... sickly sweet, powdery, synthetic. Where did they have their heads?

Even more positive leather than London, very lively, refinement, dense but again doesn't push over with the sweet fruits and florals. Preeety much impossible to not like, I'd say superlike without it having the addictive character, like how some fragrances are designed to be irresistible, like the Mindgames Blockade? Solid, mature, elegant, vigorous all in a very joyed manner. Half hour in get a flavour boost, quick lane switch and we're really talking scent right there. Uplift, going-out feel to it. Nice settle on the 1°C, 33°F outdoors walk, get the further shift, modified sweetness, stays florals and fruits active but adds a layer of dryness, not powdery, at all actually, just that mature dry.

If Tuscan Leather is Raspberry and Leather, London is Raspberry times two plus leather, then Aswan is three times Raspberry and half the leather. Extremely fruity, maybe even syrupy at some point, with little leather. I do find it very enjoyable however. That fruitiness is so bright and refreshing in a sense. If you own London, you might not need this.

Not a bad fragrance at all but not really an original release. As stated above this smells like London also done by Widian. If you want a fragrance with this scent profile from Widian, get London. Just bitter overall.

Raspberry, cumin, white musk, very dominant amber and overly sweet fruit syrup. None of the woody, green and leathery nuances I get on paper. This was really bad on my skin.

Sweet ambery leather with a hint of raspberry. Nothing ground breaking, but not bad.

The magic is in the dry down for this one. Leans more feminine to me.
