Gold I

I received a sample of this and wore it for a few days. In the bottle, this stinks. I smell stinky animal musk, and a crisp apple note that I wish I could get more of but is overpowered by the musk. But don't let the smell in the bottle turn you away! It opens up totally differently on my skin. I don't get leather at all. The combo of all the notes creates something similar, but I can definitely distinguish all the notes. Opening is fresh, crisp, musky apple. At first on the dry down, it becomes way to stanky musky for me. Yuck. But after about 10 min it calms down. The musk reduces to a delicate base that complements all the other notes. All the other notes come through and I smell vanilla, white flowers, and the crisp apple from the opening comes back. The only note I don't smell is the pepper. I love it on my skin. I was afraid it would be too masculine on me because of the musk, but it dried down quite nicely. I would describe the smell and expensive and crisp. Reminds me of a botanical garden in the hot sun. I would purchase this as a summer perfume. It wears really well in the heat. But right now I'm looking for a spicy fall scent so the search continues!

Ouds often need time to settle down on the skin. Gold 1 opens with that blast of challenging oud that often is experienced in fragrances with natural oud. Don’t let this scare you. You will be greatly rewarded. After 5-10 minutes the oud settle down to a wonderful soil for apples and florals to thrive. And the musk here is soft and gentle. Very refined and easy to wear after the opening. It seems to be quite close to skin. Others seem to experience Gold1 as very «skanky», but on my skin its soft and almost powdery with no skankyness after it settles down. The musk is not a natural musk, but a nice synthetic cozy one. To me, Gold 1 is an «eggshell white» and pink fragrance. Unisex, but maybe leaning a tiny bit to the feminin side. Probably my favourite from the house of Widian. A wonderful gentle fruity floral musk with a touch of oud.

Some perfumes you enjoy a lot for several different reasons and some other scents you just connect with in a more intimate level, that is the case of Gold I, my personal favorite from Widian. This is a blend that can transport me, gives me inner peace and strength. A great representation of what is perhaps the most precious , multifaceted, intriguing of all ingredients “oud”, infused into a blend of various resins to create an intoxicating amber accord of the highest quality, with added musk for an extra layer of funk, but not to much, just the right amount, and fruity floral nuances are also present throughout the scent life on my skin. Vanilla and sandalwood rounds of the base adding a sweet creamy texture to the majestic blend, Honestly speaking, words cannot do any justice to the depth and beauty of this jewel.

As with many expensive middle eastern Ouds, the opening is dirty, unwearable even. Let it settle for about 5 minutes and you will be rewarded with something unique. Gold I is an exquisitely blended Oud-Musk-Floral concoction. It makes sense that a french nose collaborated with a middle eastern on this one, as it has some subtle hallmarks of classic French perfumery. Perfectly unisex - if someone interested in you likes this, I could see it being an aphrodisiac for either gender. If you like Oud but can't handle many of the powerful Attars/extraits that populate the middle east, this could be a gateway drug so to speak.

A beautiful and unique scent. I never smelled anything like it. I cannot detect any of the notes listed except maybe some creamy oud smell on my skin, which projects a very creamy and velvety barnyard. It does last for a long time. Very well made scent. I ration it because of the price point.

I love this! very misterious and musky... the wood of oud is always in the background, the nuances of apple and vanilla give shine... ethereal, really extraordinary! Sillage: 8.5/10 Longevity: 9./10 Scent: 9./10 Overall: 9./10

Elegant, ultra refined and understated Oriental. The perfume opens with notes of green apple and slight pepper before moving to a brief heart of slight florals and Oud and quickly settling into a powdery bed of amber, vanilla, sandalwood and synthetic musk. Unisex with moderate sillage, projection and longevity. A happy powdery experience that will not please many Oriental lovers because of its subtle presence but there are many joys to derive from it if you like things a bit soft and refined. Enjoy!

Very good smelling, BUT you have to like skanky leather. This is SKANKY!!

Upon initial application from the sample there was a powerful but not overly sweet flower note that I cannot identify. Within seconds it was replaced by the overwhelming musk. This must be some high quality straight from the animal gland musk cause it has some skank on it. I'm not a fan.

Really dissatisfied with this fragrance i tried gold 2 before gold 1 and really quite liked gold 2. So was excited to try gold 1 but a huge letdown weak and doesn’t last well

Meh, This is not my cup of tea. Barnyard and floral old lady mixed together.

L'apertura iniziale ricorda fortemente il formaggio gorgonzola (per chi lo conosce),nota data dalla presenza maestosa del legno di Oud e muschio. Poi cambia e diventa più simile alla pelle e ricorda in modo molto suggestivo un paesaggio del medio Oriente. Molto particolare, sicuramente non per tutti.

Pretty good! I get a real oud smell with that bit of apple. Not sure about the musk, seems more like.. some kind of leather? I like it though. Surprisingly she liked it as well.

This is brilliant. But the opening part is skanky musk & oud. And it smoothens after some time and becomes a very opulent mid eastern scent. Amazing..

Surprisingly, these notes combine to create a leather accord. It's actually quite nice. Don't blind buy though...
