I have been on a fragrance journey for years, but nothing prepared me for the sheer brilliance of WIDIAN's Limited 71 Extrait de Parfum. Can someone please confirm if the notes listed above are correct for this particular 2022 Widian 71 Limited extrait de parfum (bronze bottle), as I don't think they are. Some of the comments below mention Lavender. There is no Lavender in this. Just incase you purchase it based on the notes listed above or some of the comments mentioned below. I did a bit of research and what I've established is that the notes shown above are the exact same notes listed for the Widian Limited 71 Extreme 2018 edition (the pure black bottle). I purchased the above 2022 Widian Limited 71 extrait de parfum (the bronze bottle) from Javoy Paris and they, as well as some other retailers selling it, have listed the incorrect notes as listed above with Lavender, Sage and Oud Wood as the top notes, when it does not. There was no mention of any notes in the box, which was very annoying. And this perhaps is why there is confusion with the correct notes. The official Widian website and the Parfumo website have the "correct" notes listed for this. And it does not correspond with the notes listed above. This, to me smells quite similar to Dior Sauvage Elixir with the Nutmeg scent coming out strong, except maybe a rich mans version of it. It is infused with a rich blend of incense and exotic spices, and is classed as a Fougere-Ambery fragrance that captivates your senses and leaves you spellbound as quoted by the official Widian website. The notes for the Widian 71 Extreme 2018 (the pure black bottle), has the Sage, Lavender and Oud Wood listed as their top notes. The official Widian website confirms the following notes. I copied and pasted them for ease of reference. Limited 71 Extreme (2018 pure black bottle). Top notes Bergamot, Sage and Lavender Middle notes Bays, Dry Amber, Akigalawood and Cashmeran Base notes Oudwood, Patchouli, Amber and Vetiver. The "above" 2022 Limited 71 extrait de parfum (the bronze bottle) Top notes Bergamot, Nutmeg and Coriander Middle notes Grey Amber, Oud Smoke and Patchouli Base notes Dry Amber, White Musk and Incense.

I simply can’t get over it—I’m at the same time baffled, surprised, and annoyed when I read that people associate this perfume with Initio - Oud for Greatness. My question to you is: How?? Where? With what nose are you smelling this? I honestly don’t understand where Oud for Greatness is in this. Show me with your finger, guide both my nostrils, enlighten me, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA... So, no—Liwa has absolutely no connection to Oud for Greatness. Limited 71 also has not a single link to OFG. Now, the review: The scent is truly very similar to Liwa, but with more spices. I’d say it’s a more masculine version of Liwa, and slightly fresher too. An ideal fragrance, absolutely perfect. But in order to bust the myth, I had to consult a guy. I asked him directly, because he's someone who has tried ALL the limited versions of this perfume. And the truth is—there’s no difference. They're all the same. The differences are so small, so invisible, so insignificant, really. It’s the same fragrance with slight reformulations. Still long-lasting, still powerful, still produced in limited batches—and that’s it. Mystery solved. A beautiful masterpiece.

Gorgeous!!! Beast mode mix of Oud for Greatness and Bin Shaikh with much superior blending and ingredients that smell much more natural. The Oud here is similar to the one in Awfa. Superb blending. It’s slightly fruity and sweet compared to LV’s Nouveau Monde and similar in some ways to New York Oud by Bond No 9. Overall very pleasant, great for evening wear and above average performance. This is spectacular. Just perfect. Nothing more to say just quietly enjoy by myself. Nobody should wear this except me. I urge you all to not buy this stuff it's too expensive anyways. You can buy a liter of some other half decent soup for that dough. so there.

An easy 10/10 fragrence. One of my favorites ever. Unique, rich, multilayered. Beast mode. If you don't like oud but really want to. Try this. The price is totally worth it compared to other more generic and copied big house fragrences.

This is an absolute gem. Amber and oud. Warm, spicy, and smooth. Super well blended with excellent natural smelling components. I don’t get the barnyardy oud in the least. Its masculine and versatile. Highly recommended.

This is a straight 10. I fell in a deep hole with this Scent. Spicy oud with a smooth mystical darkness that merges into an ambery, woody sensuality with lavender and a refined sweetness.

Glad I got it last summer from Harvey Nichols London, as a limited edition I couldn't pass up the opportunity. It's rich, for any occasion, any season, excellent performance.

Its taken me almost two years of testing and discovery to finally choose my signature scents. This majestic fragrance specifically has prompted my first comment on this website I frequent so much. For my special events/evening signature I wanted something opulent that smells expensive ideally with Oud and Amber. I chose this over Roja Amber Aoud, Fragrance du Bois Sahraa & the latest Oud offerings from Amouage. The initial slightly barnyard-like Oud eases within a few minutes, and what’s left is an opulent, woody oriental scent that won’t offend Western noses. Like with most Widian scents, individual notes aren’t so easy to decipher due to the quality blend. This is smooth and strong and perhaps the best scent I’ve encountered. The Amber accord doesn’t have the screechy dry down that many complain about with modern amber based scents. I get this with Promise from Frederic Malle for example. The base of Oud, Amber, Patchouli & Vetiver are 4 of my favourite notes. Collectively they create an incredible dry down with superb longevity on skin, and that wonderful feeling you get the following day when you put on your jacket and can smell a scent you love. This is versatile and for me it’s a special occasion scent. I wouldn’t wear it on a hot day and have plenty others to choose from, Burlington 1819 from Roja being my preferred hot weather scent. The price is expensive, but then all Widian scents are. This is high end niche so it’s expected. Like with quality food it’s hard to go back to low quality, and once you fall in love with niche perfumery it’s an expensive hobby until you settle on your favourite scents. I expect to revisit this review once I’ve got to know this scent even better. After two tests I had to buy this, I’m sure you know the feeling.

I currently have tears in my eyes typing this. I have been searching for an oud that I would find even better than the likes of Oud for greatness and Haltane. After months of searching someone lead me towards this and I have 2ml sitting in my hand as I type...at the very first spray, you’re immediately blasted in the face with the smell of a horses asshole...The tears are because I’m currently dying of laughter. I’ve never understood why people say oud has a “barnyard” smell, at least not until just now. Theres is a fecal note in this that is undeniably similar to the scent you smell at a petting zoo. I consider myself to be pretty forgiving when it comes to niche fragrances and I can always appreciate a daring scent, even if I don’t particularly like it. But this? No. This has to be washed off to be able to enjoy. Once I scrubbed the hell out of my hand with soap it was actually decent. But I could just shit my pants if I wanted to smell like this. Hard pass.

Me: there is no perfect deep, rich, woody, sweet, oudy, lasts all day but is still inviting and not over powering every occasion, every season, year round fragrance... Widian: hold my 71... This is liquid crack for your nose. I put it on and literally walk around smelling my wrist ALL day. Does the price point hurt my soul? Yes. Does the incredible scent and performance make it less painful? Also yes. The fact that the price point means I know I won’t smell like almost everyone out there who’s chasing the Smokey pineapple wave or the boozy sugar bomb craze or the grapefruit and mango truck... gives me a big smile every time I smell it. But don’t let the secret of this beauty out to everyone

Good good good , cloying cloying cloying . I really enjoyed my 1 spray after I let it sit for a week . More than two sprays , is criminal with this beast . Look, it is nice and smells expensive dare I say generic in a sea of ouds?. No one is gonna bombard you and say omg u r wearing widian limited 71 . I also own London , Sahara and liwa and they’re so so . Liwa has nothing to do with liwa , as a kid we used to spend all the winter breaks in liwa so it should be dhaww (camp fire ) and balaleet.

Absolutely amazing. Its basically Liwa but much more masculine, with a more herbal & fresh drydown. The freshness gives it some versatility but the strong woody notes and soft oud make it the perfect fragrance for a date or a night out. The vetiver is a very nice touch and adds to the overall airy freshness that accompanies the strong woods. Performance is as close to beast mode as you will find. Having used up my decant, I can't wait to purchase a full bottle of this.

how is this flying under the radar so badly? this is one of the most jaw-dropping, impressive fragrances I have ever smelled. I am blindsided by fragrances like this about once every five years or so. this is that fragrance. it's woody, it's amber, it's patchouli, it's fougere, it's oud, it's EVERYTHING! even better, one spray lasts all day. this is "holy grail" material, IMO. so glad I accidentally discovered it.

I'm pretty sure this is not limited lol. I've seen it re-up on luckyscent like 5 times now. Anyone, it's the best example of a niche pour homme on the market. It's the upscale version of a classic fougre. Lasts forever, projects well, and won't upset those around you, if that matters to you. Signature worthy and manly. Don't know if women would wear it, but who am I to say!

This is an exceptional fragrance. It is smooth and easy to wear but I wish it was a little less masculine. When I wear it, my co workers say someone smells great but immediately look to my male co workers instead of me. I am hoping for a little less lavender and a pinch a vanilla in the 2024 offering. If you love Lavender and woods, this is a great choice.

Slightly smoother iteration of something like haltane or OFG. Objectively good yes but this is overhyped and not a DNA i'm in love with anyway. Will it get the job done? Of course and i'll land my plane here

Jasmine, (barny) oud, oily amber, sandalwood, rose and saffron. Like a mix between Liwa and Al Wasl from the house. More elegant than Wasl and more masculine than Liwa.

This is one of my favourite fragrances, incredibly beautiful. gonna end up buying a bottle on ebay as it was limited edition and not on the market anymore.
