Excellent scent! The salt and pistachio stand out and gives a very modern and refined smell. This to me is better and lasts a lot longer tha. Heeley sel marine; its has a lot more depth and can be worn in any season

Very particular scent. As other's have said, it smells of a seashore. No sunshine, no people basking. Just raw sea. Salty, plant rich and life-like. The opening hovers somewhere between seaweed and raw eggs. There's something almost slime or coating to the textural experience of the fragrance. Well crafted, also in general an interesting house to try. This is the kind of scent that would fall in the same catagory as CdG's Synthetic line. Parfum that smells like a place or a thing, but so vividly so that it stops being fragrant decoration, and more of a statement piece.

Preface: as both a lover and a very demanding critic of the marine genre, I am going to dwell on this fragrance a little longer than usual, because I find it a genuine breath—or rather, wave—of fresh air. What strikes immediately is the vividness, effervescence, and extraordinary vitality of the raw materials, as though the perfume had somehow managed to translate into scent the shimmer of sunlight dancing upon the sea's surface. The opening is intensely cold and saline. It evokes those summer mornings when the sea cools the air, the water lies calm and crystal-clear, and the tide leaves its gifts upon the shore. Bay laurel and the other botanical elements recreate with remarkable accuracy the untamed character of Mediterranean coastlines. I have never encountered a marine fragrance quite like this one. Sale Marino forges a path entirely its own, far removed from the clichés of the genre, excelling in virtually every respect. Special mention must be made of the algae absolute, which, together with the other materials in the composition, helps construct one of the most convincing and refined marine accords I have ever encountered in perfumery—without relying on the usual crutches of calone or ambroxan. Here one finds the smell of Posidonia freshly lifted from the water, of still-damp seashells, of sun-bleached driftwood, and of salt spray clinging to coastal rocks. Equally impressive is the fidelity with which the geology of the Mediterranean landscape is rendered. One can detect the mineral scent of sun-heated carbonate rocks, the fine calcareous dust that settles along the coast, and even the smell of pale sand saturated with salt. This is not merely a marine accord, but a genuine environmental reconstruction in which flora, sea, and geology coexist within the same olfactory image. The only limitation of the composition, in my view, emerges after the magnificent opening. The transition into the drydown is rather rapid and gradually reveals a facet that is likely attributable to sulfur-containing molecules. Depending on one's skin chemistry, these can take on nuances reminiscent of marine biological matter—crustaceans, seaweed, or even sharper sulfurous notes—slightly disrupting the harmony that makes the opening so extraordinary. That caveat aside, and acknowledging that it likely depends largely on the interaction between skin and natural materials, Sale Marino is a masterwork within the marine genre for three fundamental reasons. 1. Complete independence from established models. The marine genre is now saturated with variations and reinterpretations of the great classics—Rem, Acqua di Sale, Cool Water, and their countless descendants. Sale Marino cuts across this entire lineage and proposes a completely independent vision of what a marine fragrance can be. 2. Raw materials that shine with their own light. The natural ingredients possess an almost tactile luminosity. Too often contemporary marine fragrances are dominated by overdoses of calone, ambroxan, and other aromachemicals that end up sterilizing the composition. Here the opposite occurs: everything vibrates, breathes, and remains alive. 3. Absolute fidelity to its inspiration. The fragrance tells the story of the icy Bora winds sweeping across the laurel-covered shores of the Kvarner Gulf. The olfactory result is exactly that: a cold, cutting scent, intensely iodic and marine, infused with aromatic Mediterranean botanicals that provide depth, identity, and a powerful sense of place.

This fragrance literally smells like the actual sea. The real sea, not a romanticized version of it. The dominant note of seaweed does not dissapate, but the saltyness devolpes as this dries down. This is the most literal interpretation of the sea I have ever experienced but I have zero clue when I would ever wear this. Give it a shot if you can the quality is superb, but this scent is absolutely for those who are looking for something very specific and incredibly unique.

Right away I smell fish. The salty breeze brings the smell of the fishing equipment in the harbor and the seaweed thrown on the shore by the waves. This fishy note is funny and clever, I think. Makes it so real.
