Calahorra

Timber: the deep, deep cuts edition. A bewitchingly perfect, compellingly strange ultra-niche rosewood with extraordinarily true-to-life tangs of hot vegetation, hot winds blowing off sunny hillsides, and the beams of ancient buildings. I'd never even heard of Woha, but was incredibly generously gifted a precious sample of this by a fellow collector - and now want to explore them in full, for this is proper art work. Smells like nothing else - most other palisander attempts seem almost ridiculously wimpy, synthetic and over-polished next to this. Still, the note runs right through it like rings through a trunk; this is the real, the true, the very thing itself. The herbal and spicy notes never barge in yelling, but give wafts of extra interest throughout its impressively long life; there's always something new in there to sniff, snuffle out and revel in again. Its rugged outdoorsiness and decided individual character made me think of Olympic Orchids' Arizona: though the aromas are very different, it has that same utterly authentic feel and sense of place to it. Absolutely robust in concept, integrity, sillage and durability. Not cheap but absolutely reasonably priced for what it is. An absolutely solid, totally unexpected LOVE. ETA: Also lasts almost forever (like weeks) on unwashed fabric, so you must be prepared to commit to it - or do more laundry. Not a drawback in my view but if you like to change scents daily it might outstay its welcome.

I found it so realistic, with notes that aren’t even officially listed. I imagine stepping into the lift on the 32nd floor, the bar has just opened, the furniture is modern, and the lacquer on the wood still feels freshly painted. On top of the bar, there’s a set-up of ingredients, but what I notice first is the green tangerine, with a bit of zest missing, probably used by the waiter to prepare a cocktail. That bittersweet citrus dominates the first impression. In the background, there’s thyme, waiting to finalize a beautiful savory gin and tonic. From the bar, the view is stunning: a large balcony with all doors open, revealing a vertical forest. The scent of dark green leaves, the thyme, and the woody notes of the branches all intertwine into a natural dance. Looking back at the bar, the raw wood and the varnish of the shiny surface celebrate a royal medley between nature and modern architecture. This is not just a perfume; it is art in a bottle. Chapeau to the creator.

Calahorra is a unique fragrance with an addictive quality, perfectly unisex and suitable for every season. Even when familiar with the notes, it’s challenging to pinpoint them as they are all well blended. It’s a sweet and resinous composition, filled with many aromatic hues and a woody undertone, all rounded together like a candy, enticing you to wear it day after day, which is exactly what happened to me. After purchasing it right after it came out, Calahorra rapidly became my most worn fragrance of the season. It's the first fragrance in the line of an interesting project that aims to intertwine architecture, perfumery, and neuroscience. Specifically, Calahorra is inspired by the Calahorra Tower of Elche, a location of historical interest that features a vertical garden and a ground-floor cafeteria.

I am so grateful to own this masterpiece. I love this so much it it smells heavenly. I got 242 out of 300. And the worker was nice enough to give me a tester of the new perfume from this brand. I was gonna get the new one but this just smells so😫 12/10 best smell ever. Sad that it’s 30 ml only complaint.

Suuuuuuuper addictive, I can’t stop smelling this. I get a lot of citrus, woods and a hint of cardamom. You can perfectly wear it for every season of the year and for every occasion. I got number 257/300 and I got to say that this is probably my new favorite citrusy fragrance

A unique woody aromatic scent designed to evoke the olfactory feel of an ancient Spanish city once ruled by the Romans and still steeped with ancient architecture. The scent opens with notes of papyrus, mandarin orange and pepper. The heart is a witchy aromatic mix of witch hazel, katafray, guggul and hemlock. The perfume settles on a woody base of rosewood, patchouli, cane sugar, styrax and copaiba balm. I The unisex scent has moderate projection and longevity. Impossible to categorize and a unique wearing experience, it transports you to ancient civilizations and mysterious places.

Sampled from a tiny splash vial. Other have pointed out the excellent blend of this one, and I agree; on my skin I'm getting a great balance of citrus, patchouli, warm wood and amber. It leans a little sweet on me. The sweetness reminds me of this awful "money house" aerosol spray from the dollar store that my dad would spray in his car, but there's nothing offensive about this. Definitely interested in trying a decant with an atomizer.

Thyme, palisander and patchouli with hint of green mandarine. Green and dark but polished. Notching raggy or basement like, woody, patchouli sweeter but greener side, green as accord to every note You can distinguish. Long lasting. With time almost clove spice like. A good one for niche lovers only.

It smells more like a woody perfume than a wood scented perfume if that makes sense. Not to sweet and has a bit of a bitter note to balance it out. Smells very warm and the citrus isn’t too strong. I didn’t think I would like it but it’s actually pretty nice. Kinda smells like an old rich lady.

To me, it smells like cloves, caramel, and citrus. Overall, it's pleasant, but I'm not ready to smell like mulled wine.

CALAHORRA, 2024 LOS OJOS DE TU PIEL, 2024 Om AH Uhm, 2025 by woha.parfums This is going to be a "review en brief" where I will write my very first impressions on these three scents starting from Calahorra which is the first release from the brand. I was drawn by Woha Parfums because of their editorial project that tries and connect architecture to odours. Is it a feasible enterprise? I believe so, if we consider the holistic approach to architecture and perfumes. Calahorra is inspired by the project of a cafeteria in a vertical garden in the Calahorra tower at Elche. So, imagine you are inside this cafeteria and you see from the windows this astonishing garden while a bartender is preparing your aperitif. The zestiness of a splash of orange, the oily quality of an abundance of spices, the greeness and the wood of the patchouli, but I am in love with the re-creation of the palissander (rosewood) accord that has a foot on the vintage of the past. A lot of thyme made the conconction very green and aromatic, counterbalanced by the sugar cane accord which I may imagine to be used to sweeten my aperitif. Kind of unusual and interesting. It feels like drinking coffee while staring at a vertical forest somewhere futuristic and ultra-modern, surrounded by the scent of freshly built wood interiors. There is something deeply architectural about this fragrance — clean, sophisticated, and perfectly structured. A perfume that immediately evokes the profession of an architect. Minimalistic, elegant, urban, and extremely refined. The mandarin brings a radiant and vibrant freshness, while the woods create the sensation of a newly built home, custom furniture, and polished concrete warmed by sunlight. Everything feels modern, yet still comforting and human. Perfectly unisex. Professional without being boring. Artistic without sacrificing wearability. Absolutely gorgeous. A true work of art. Last couple of days i was lacquing wood in woodworskop with some chinese orange scented paste, this perfume reminds me that situation, funny that i tested this perfume at the same time and i was thinking how is the chinese paste smelling good. You got realistic wooddust smell with subtle oily background and mandarine breeze. I like it. When i know about the architectural concept i am somehow thinking about brutalist villa with wooden interiour situated somewhere in Brasil, outside are mandarine trees and the Mr. Architect is hanging around in his linen suit. Perfume transfer over time to more powdery and later clean scent.

More interesting than Los Ojos but it still has that distinctive almost oily smell to it. The only difference is this smells like a mild vitamin c supplement
