Goat

(Sampled) Picked up as part of a Halloween sample bundle, which is just code for 'weirder' scents. A little weird, but actually a 'nastier' (positive) scent. Super animalic and true to notes, without being as out there as they suggest. Opening is strong on the 'goat' with an earthy and milky base, there is a distinct zing there from the florals that adds sharp fruit to the nose at first. After about 15 minutes, the zest mellows and brings out more of the lactonic note, and becomes lightly leathery in the back and the wood starts to sing. Dry down is surprisingly smooth. Super woodsy and almost green adjacent (think hay). Just a touch spicy. To me it is reminiscent of sodden farmyard and musky fur. Love the dry down, even if it does evolve from milk to musk. Lightly sweet, but not overly so as the floral notes disappear. Addictive and wearable, and it so should not be. Projection is moderate, nothing crazy but its trail is slightly more present. Lasting power is pretty damn good, seems to be at at least 6 hours before this even becomes close to the skin - likely would last an eternity on clothes. Bit more masculine leaning but definitely works as unisex. Will everyone like it? No. But to me it is more of a casual, cross season fragrance that may intrigue those around you. Hell, with those notes I thought I wouldn't like it. At the price, it's a tempting one to pick up for me. Only an office scent for the right person. I'm going to give it 9.5/10 - only if projection was slightly higher, but even then that's not needed if it's only for you (and it very well could be). (Update): It's the day after, wrist still had a pretty strong smell right next to the skin upon waking up. So, this fella sticks around intimately.

Partner got a sample of this and we spent a Friday night just sniffing and laughing and sniffing and laughing - this was an incredible scent journey. It's an entire picture, a story in a scent, not just weird scents stuck in a bottle together. A vanitas painting - skulls of death and beautiful flowers in the same scene. A very, very realistic goat scent: goat fur, goat poop, hay in a goat shed. At the same time, a sweet, dreamy, edible. Horny genitals, unwashed bodies, bearded lady from a sideshow, dressed in beautiful clothes and perfumed with a layer of sweet, floral candies. Tim Burton film characters, 18th century ball. A circus travelling in wooden wagons pulled by old horses. On the skin, surprisingly wearable. The animal-ness comes through when you put your nose close to the body. Did not last super long on skin, which is fine for such a particular scent I think.

This perfume is the reason I've became interested in Wolf Brothers brand and it didn't disappoint me. It starts out very natural and sweet. Almost floral and a bit grassy. And then the hay kicks in and stays with you for the rest of the day. This blend takes me on a scented journey as if I'm walking through a friend of wild blooming flowers and stumble upon a farm. I love the statement it makes. It's very unique and surely not for everyone. Through the day it feels mostly like sweet hay. Those floral notes go away in about half a hour. A bit funky but still very pleasant. The smell of countryside that I miss so dearly living in the city. It's not very strong but stays forever. I took a shower before bed and in the morning still smelt of hay. All in all if you're someone who misses the country and looks for a unique smell I definitely recommend this perfume.

I recently discovered this in a small perfumery in Trieste. I’m obsessed. It’s wild, deep and has a pleasant darkness. Contrary to other reviews here I don’t feel it stinks, it’s like a bear hug from Tormund Giantsbane (for the Game of Throne fans here), there’s fur and sweet goat’s milk and something indescribably warm. Imagine being lost on a snowy mountain path and finding shelter in an astonishingly comfortable cabin. To me the oud elevates it and makes it more like a piece of extravagant wild clothing than the wild itself. But to be fair I am a fan of unique and imaginative fragrances. I keep sniffing my wrist, it’s highly addictive. I’d f* a bear if he wore this, to get back to Tormund Giantsbane. ;) Also I’ll probably need a full bottle!

This fragrance was a step outside my comfort zone and I'm glad I tried the sample because I LOVE it. Warm, rich, masculine - just what I wanted. I would definitely say that the lactonic notes are present but not overwhelming, over a warm woody base. Long-lasting, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it performs out and about. The price is a little above what I would like to spend on a fragrance, but might be justifiable with how much I enjoy it and how long one spray has lasted.

I really loved this fragrance. If anything, I'd like the goat milk and mushrooms at the beginning to last a bit longer, but the journey from the big opener of leather and truffle and a tiny little wink of patchouli, transitioning into more patchouli and spicy notes, and the costus and vetiver warmth on the end are really doing it for me, this is definitely on my to-buy list. Very comforting and empowering scent, feels very safe to me.

so fascinatingly natural and animalic. exactly what i wanted! both the "goat" and the milk scent are very prominent along with the earthy-green undertones, yet it's nothing too intense or unpleasant. definitely a must buy/must try if you're into animalic frags. i might be in love.

If you want a primordial scent, this is it! Raw animal fur, no appologies! Musk, funk, fur and earth! You want animal- you got it! Not unpleasent by any means! Just be prepared for that strong animalic being which lurks inside us all (whether you admit it or not 😉).

I need this in my wardrobe! Yes, it smells exactly like goats in a petting zoo and it’s extremely comforting. Not for everyone, but definitely unisex. It says a lot that with 61 votes there are still no fragrances in the Reminds Me Off section. It’s truely unique.

This is so goooood. I mostly get leather, smoke, and of course goat. Its super grounding to me and not artificial at all. Still unsure if I'm giving barnyard to others but to me this is straight up sexy honestly. I can't stop huffing it my god

Truly amazing and animalic. A prime example of how animalic perfumes can be extremely addictive and comfortable to wear. Coniferous notes in this are amazing and create such an interesting counterpoint to the milky and furry animalic notes.

like it or dislike it ,it will stick in your noise memory ,it will remind you of any farm you ever visited when the smell get mixed from the air of the goats with the grass and the lovely mixture in this air ,I loved it so much

Yes, it does smell like a goat, but also like a wintery night by the fire in a cabin in the woods under a wool blanket drinking hot milk while the person you love most in the world reads you ghost stories. My happy scent.

Very well blended. Slightly fruity and sweet. The milk and mushroom comes out wonderfully balanced. The fur and animalics are soft but bold. Top notch fragrance.

It reads like a pretty realistic wooden barn full of hay and animals that just went in to hide from the rain + throw in some dried fruts and herbs.

Very reminiscent of chevre with fruit spread on top, and the interior of a barn and hay. Definitely the most unique fragrance of the lineup.

For me dirty, sweat animal fur, not necessary goat with tobacco and milk. It simply stinks... but in such interesting way that I wanted to check it again and again. To make a long story short, I could wear it for a daily but with complete awareness that it is only for me - most of people wont be enthusiastic - for a pleasure of satisfying curiosity, not for a pleasure of nice smell. After time smell gets softer. The same notes but not so aggressive, but still you have to be either extremely confident and individualistic, or extremely pleasant, well dressed, and have prepared good answers to questions 'hey what is that smell?' to do not be excluded from the community. No option to walk through without any comment on this perfumes. It stinks but can be loved IMHO. 100% no blind but, highly recommend to check it. Silage - getting lineary weaker but 0,5m max after 3 sprays in first 1-2hours. Longevity - I would say 6-8h. 7/10 Edit. After one month and after coming back to it few times I dont belive it and it still sticks but I really like it :D

ok lmao you guys weren't lying about this one (however,) rather than the goats' milk smell other people were describing, i get kind of a hay/manure smell, that hay-tinged manure-sweet that you get when you walk in a barn. i visited an amish farm w my grade school class once, and this smells just like the mule/horse barn. or like the sheep/goat section at a petting zoo. actually that second one is exactly what it is. perhaps as a result of its accuracy, there's this element of familiarity to it. had me racking my brain for where in my childhood i'd smelled this before. the manure(?) note remains throughout, although it gets less distinct as it dries down. more of an offputting musky sweet something, funky hay and goat fur as you go down. would i wear it out? absolutely not. is it compelling? yes. very.

I'm into this. Very oud-forward, which is where most of the animalic comes out. The milkiness is the second thing I notice. The green and earthy notes take a back seat but are still present, giving a pleasant backdrop. Not as powerful as I'd like, but this may be a plus: making an animalic fragrance more versatile to wear. One spray at work for a bit of of a subtle scent that won't scare off your coworkers, more sprays for going out at night when you want to project more. Even though I like it, I'm not sure it's worth the price. A very similar smell could be created by wearing oud oil layered with something lactonic.

I know I'm being stalked by a more powerful predator, and yet I'm confident in my abilities, at home in this ecosystem. Somewhere in the distance a chattering troop of monkeys yell a warning reverberating through the valley. Primal. Prehistoric. This is the scent mother earth would gift her lover before a star-filled night of passion next to a great and powerful river. The scent carries its own heartbeat, it is comfortable in its skin, proud but not arrogant, unassuming but dangerous and alluring.

extremely beautiful and photorealistic rendition of a goat farm, a bit stinky, but in a good, endearing way. extremely well made animalic scent! i wouldnt wear it, but its a real piece of art

Honestly, this is a great fragrance. I’m looking forward to trying the entire series, but I already feel this one will be my favorite. Definitely worth a full bottle.

Goat is a strange perfume, the notes listed are clearly deranged, but it does in fact not smell as weird as it would seem. It’s sort of a green, earthy, ashy scent which certainly smells unusual, but it’s not unwearable and nowhere near as animal is it looks on paper. To me, this earthy fungal note of truffle and mushroom dominates, its earthy facets highlighted by mosses and patchouli. Behind this dense thickness, a vibrant slightly metallic feel from violet leaf emerges, giving way to a furry sort of leather in the base. Does it smell like a goat? No. In fact, what it really smells like to me is the old, leathered hands of someone who rolls their own cigarettes, perhaps smoking one every 5 minutes of the day. That intense earthy ashiness is what puts me off this scent, but it’s not revolting by any means - just a very unique style.

Reminds me of Bat by The Zoologist a bit, but it is much more pleasant and less offensive. Overall a good scent, but not really my kind of vibe.

Goat opens with a very fruity scent which I attribute to the osmanthus. There is also a sweet milky effect under the fruit. If you've ever had goat milk, it's quite tart; the sweet milk did not bring a goat to mind but more like cow's milk with sugar. The fruity scent hung around for quite some time and gradually morphing to bring in something similar but dryer - probably the cloves and oud. Yes, there was something animalic hiding in the background - what the cumin, leather, costus, fur? - but it was pretty mild. I just couldn't shake the fruity accord and the animalic accord seemed pretty mild. Overall disappointing. Longevity for me was quite good - got about 10 hours out of Goat. I'm surprised to see the generally lower longevity rating. Projection was moderate.

Lowkey nasty, makes me feel kind of sick to my stomach. Kind of spicy and sickly sweet, but with something wrong underneath. Does not go away for a while on the skin, and will definitely stick in your mind.

I'm fascinated by the reviews of this scent, the notes, and then what I actually experienced while smelling it! First, I'll say, this is not something that I personally would have tracked down a sample of, but this scent category is one a great friend of mine explores often/enjoys. Through his exploration of "animalic" scents, I've experienced fragrances like Hyrax by Zoologist, Secretions Magnifiques by ETLO, many challenging oud-heavy scents, complex/heavy leathers, etc. I was expecting Goat to exist in that same world—animalic, pungent, decay-like, heavy, manure, sometimes putrid... or at least some of those things. Instead, I experienced Goat as all human—not animal. To me, both when this was tested on paper and on skin, Goat smells of A Man. This man has smoked cigarettes/cigars all day, every day, for his entire life while working in a laborious job. He wears the same clothes while working and smoking, doesn't wash those clothes, and continues, day in, day out, doing so. There is sweat dried on the clothes, sure, but it's mostly the smoke residue and the human-musk scent. It's not strong in the way I was expecting—a spray or two warmed on my friend’s skin, and we each would get whiffs of this Man, but it wasn't overwhelming. I also had a few more personal scent associations. First, think: a man you meet in a bar—or likely outside a bar—in your 20s. He hasn't showered—but that’s the norm. He's smoking and drinking because, of course. He's likely worn the same clothes for the last many months while going about this routine of smoking, drinking, not showering etc. There's paint on his pants despite him not being a painter, his shoes are a worn-through leather boot, and he looks as though he has a laborious-trade job, but really, he doesn't have a job at all. Next, with other whiffs, I had a completely different memory—one of my grandfather, who smoked cigars all day, every day, outside in the open-air garage. He did so while sitting in a La-Z-Boy recliner—a recliner that used to be his indoor recliner and, about 20 years ago, was deemed by my grandmother "too old" to be indoors, so it has since been the outdoor cigar-smoking recliner. This La-Z-Boy is next to the "antique" garage refrigerator, which hums in the background and provides an odor of its own to the equation. He sits, smoking his cigars, with a pile of discarded cigar boxes to his left, reading the newspaper, adding to the pile of discarded papers to his right, and dozing off from time to time. Goat smells like that recliner.

In my goat voice, this is not b-a-a-a-a-a-d. Interesting to note, Wolf Brothers doesn't share the same animal inspired fragrances as Zoologist. It would've been fun to see them go head to head with Elephant, Camel, Bat or something in that realm. Is it possible to out-niche a niche? Obviously, Wolf Brothers believe so. Also to note, this is my first and only Wolf Brothers fragrance I've experienced therefore, I'm not qualified to say who truly runs the animal kingdom. Now.. to the fragrance. This is a mossy furfest shackled by the thinnest grain of leather. The scent carries an unassuming amount of woods just enough to keep you revisiting your skin for assurance. The pre-worn nature of this fragrance is complex and distinctive with moss, patchouli and barely there oud. Goat milk accentuats the animallic nature of this flavorless but appealing concoction. An outlier in style, but in a good way. Dark in tone and more earthy than leather-driven, with conifer layered with a subtle grain of vetiver, cedar and more fur. Longevity is average, sillage is average and the price is great for the quality. Welcome to niche perfumery.

It smells like a wet fur mixed with smoked, burnt fur, all together mixed with spices and wrapped in a strange umami-milky mossy green coat. Also, after some time the violet leaf appears and shows its presence. All together very unique and nothing on the market that I know doesn't smell like Goat by Wolf Brothers. Rather spring, possibly autumn, casual or formal use (I'd recommend to use it casually). Interesting, truly niche scent.

Extreme fragrance. Do you remember what it wants to represent? Yes . The goat's milk can be felt (unfortunately I don’t like its smell), as well as the rougher and animalic notes. Wild, strong, particular. Wearable? Absolutely yes, but you really need to have a trained nose and appreciate certain notes in my opinion. I couldn't, however I applaud the creation, really well done.

Oh, this is the livestock barn at the State Fair of Texas... one of my top 3 favorite scents, bottled up!
