Cedar Woods

I read a review somewhere that said Cedar Woods smelled like pine-scented cleaning fluid, and while I won't go that far, my personal experience with the fragrance was not pleasant. I got none of the citrus or patchouli, and the scent that came off my wrists from start to finish was definitely pine (not cedar) -- and artificial pine at that. (That said, I'm beginning to suspect the coniferous range of woody spectrum doesn't react well with my biochemistry -- at least as far as fragrance is concerned.) The sillage and longevity were both moderate -- about what you'd expect from an EDT.

I purchased this fragrance in 2017-2018, and when I sprayed it, immediately pictures formed in my mind of English ladies and gentlemen dressed to meet a cool fall morning walking in a woods whose floor was covered by fallen wet leaves, and the leaves are scented with wood; so the woods compliment the scent of the wet leaves, and there is also sunlight hitting these sweetened leaves. The scent was too much; I put it away, someplace near, but where I could forget it. Now, on a no-buy, I was going through that near-forgotten place and discovered it (along with a few others) and sprayed it again (it has calmed down considerably), and now it perceives softness, something mysterious like wood and citrus. What comes to mind now is a gentleman or a lady of the '70s who is classy, elegant, and soft but very much about business. I think this is a great everyday unisex scent that is best worn after a morning shower, sprayed lightly, and on freshly showered and moisturized skin. It is non-offensive, a bit nostalgic, and boosts confidence. To me, sprayed lightly, It hits the skin with the smell of a balanced cedar soap.

I have the deodorant of this fragrance and for a deodorant it's really nice. The EDT version is not that great but if you can get your hands on the deodorant go for it! Really good stuff. By the way I believe that deodorant has talc in it so not the perfect choice for a black dress. But otherwise great!
