Empiryan

This fragrance WANTED to be more - WANTED to be really dark and skanky, WANTED to be sharp and offensive, WANTED to be rough and loud, and someone saw its potential and refined it like the faceted jewel that it is. Great in the cooler months or cool indoor date nights. MIGHT be office safe if it's cool and you only spray once, maybe twice. This is still strong on my skin at hour 6. Will see how long she'll hold out. This is a fragrance with numerous volatile and spikey accords, softened and contained within its delicate golden-amber filigreed shell - keeping this safe yet still rich, still very niche. It wants to be loud oud, but it's more of a super long-lasting hug of golden amber and incense that once dominated but tamed for skin and possibly even work safe. The tobacco isn't super strong or overly masculine, but more a part of an accord that was meant to be perceived as a mildly spiced smokey oud. The mint isn't even loud - but helps project this in a very non-offensive way. The incense is soft, the cedar, soft, the vanilla is the glue holding it all together but not the center of attention - neither at the opening or dry down. This fragrance is very very likeable and for a middle eastern swayed oud, safer blind buy than many others. I have to mention that one of the driving factors of my getting this one in particular, even though I find this collection a harder one to like, was the bottle itself - it's one of the prettier ones and its looks so luxe. I'm so happy that the fragrance lives up to it's cover. I have nearly 70 Xerjoff at this point and this is in the top 20% for sure. But I do LOVE oud, including middle eastern beasts like Oud Zarian (Creed). Just keep the soured honey ones like Mamluk very very far away from me... ffs that's an oddity I will never understand.. I picked up this fragrance and was not disappointed, it was not a love at first sniff but something I knew I was gonna love later so I ended up pulling the trigger on it and I am so glad I did it’s such an amazing realistic smell of tobacco and incense with a dirty chocolatey patchouli that I absolutely love, I would say it’s not a safe blind buy and I would say it’s for a more mature user. Upon the opening you get blasted with the tobacco and incense that dries down to a creamy yet dirty chocolatey patchouli, in the mid you get a nice amber floral vanilla that is very beautiful. Performance 8.5/10 Scent profile - has been done before but it’s amazing Smell - 9/10 My only complaint on this fragrance is that the tobacco seems to fade within a few hours and disappears for me entirely in the dry down Overall I give this a 9/10

Royal Tobacco was one of the fragrances that kicked off my fragrance addiction. Although, I have yet to purchase it. I have purchased a few Xerjoff fragrances. Most all blind buys. All successful. I took caution and picked up a few samples. Those samples led me to purchasing Naxos and Tony Iommi Monkey Special. They may lead me also in getting this. It isn't as rich as Royal Tobacco. It is in the ballpark. Not as strong and missing the licorice. Not a bad thing. I wore then at the same time, one on each arm. I prefer Royal Tobacco. My wife prefers Empiryan. We will compromise and get Empiryan first and maybe Royal Tobacco later. 😀 Just a fantastic amber tobacco fragrance with vanilla. A little powdery. Absolutely gorgeous bottle. Certainly on my want list.

Ah, what a sublime creation this Empiryan, I think the most beautiful scent I've ever smelled. Balanced, charming, mystical, I would almost add magical. Magical yes, starting from the name that echoes the Empireo, the third heaven or high sky, where God and the higher celestial beings dwell. And that's exactly the scent: a voluptuous ascent to the top, a flight with wings spread to lap the sacred skies. I find it really superfluous and, especially in this case, extremely limiting and childish, to describe this work of art from a technical point of view. Empiryan should not be described or even smelled. Empiryan must be lived. And with the same attitude of reverence with which one should approach a sacred text or a work by Michelangelo.

This was love at first sniff for me. Starts pretty earthy and woody with a slightly sweet tobacco. This has a lot of smooth incense and a touch of patchouli in the heart. Natural Vanilla makes its presence, but overall stays in the background with a lot of amber being the base. This is quite oriental dark and a bold masculine scent. To sum it up its earthy, woody, smoky, spicy, oriental, sweet and almost smells like it has Whiskey in it. A bold but beautiful release. Sample first!!!

Dont understand the negative reviews here...this is an amazing perfume...starting with something like cumin and then gets sweeter but the cumin edge is always there...i tried nearly 30 xerjoff and I got this finally....it does not remind anything from the above...just give it a try and let it sit for a while. If you can go through the somehow sweaty opening, then you get a fantastic perfume....although no cumin is listed in the notes, I detect it.

As a Musc Ravageur lover, Empiryan reminds me a lot of MR, but with more complexity. I am aware that people may find that MR and Empiryan are not that similar, but to my perception, there is an overlap. Empiryan is a deep, rich scent without the animalic content. I love it at first sniff, but I don't know how Empiryan will perform on me when it comes to its longevity (as many Xerjoff fragrances except Golden Dallah and 40 knots dissipate on me).

Empiryan is absolutely stunning! The tobacco and cypriol opening is warm and inviting, while the incense and cedar heart add a touch of spirituality. The vanilla, amber, and labdanum base is rich and long-lasting. This fragrance is perfect for both day and night.

I just got Ether, Astaral & Empiryan. This one is my fav of the 3! I expected to love Ether bc ive read so many positive reviews but its my least fav of the 3. I still really like it but Empiryan just dazzled me the most! Lovely winter scent and FB worthy!

It's a very dusty tobacco, the incense and vanilla are main players here. It gets creamier in the far dry down. It's the kind of tobacco the market lacks, as most of the tobacco sents around are sweet/spicy.

I sprayed this once in my forearm, got 3 compliments from different people under the first 10 minutes, people said I smelled amazing and I could even smell it after 2 showers. Smells really edible.

Certainly unique. Starts off smelling like an old attic (in a good way), then transitions to the most well-blended amber/vanilla combo I've come across. Doesn't fill up a room, but projection is sufficient. I got over 8 hours with this. Would recommend if you like masculine amber/vanilla frags.

Opened with a soft, mild tobacco with a slightly woody accent followed shortly there after by a touch of incense. It then evolved into an ambery vanilla scent, lightly sweet and slightly powdery, slightly creamy. The tobacco by then had more or less disappeared. Performance was good with excellent longevity. Sillage was quite good for the first hour, then retreated to a more compact scent bubble. Unisex fragrance. Would seem to be pretty versatile, good day or night, any season but perhaps not on the hottest days. Overall, I'd say it's a nice, generic scent. Mild tobacco then mainly amber & vanilla. At just under $200 for 100ml, seems overpriced for what it is. Nothing really special. I'll pass.

Pleasant but redundant tobacco vanilla scent that has been done many many times before. This time the Tobacco Vanille formula is given slight middle eastern touches by adding slight cypriol at the top and slight incense, patchouli and labdanum at the base. Overall the slight masculine leaning scent has moderate to strong projection and good longevity. This is easy to wear and inoffensive but also deja vu. Enjoy!

Got this as a sample, sprayed on paper 1 hour ago...smells like musty baby powder not too fresh but has that incense around it...reminds me of a out-of-laundry polo shirt that's been worn for 2 days. Even if you like the bottle presentation maybe find a different one from the collection because it just smells like fresh musty tobacco and not something i would prioritise in this category.

This has a very powdery, amber scent to it that is followed by a strange tobacco smell. It's as if some tobacco leaves had been left in a puddle of warm water to soak for quite a long time. It makes the scent unpleasant to my nose. The amber and vanilla really try to be it's having grace, but the weird herbal tobacco water overpowers and sweet pleasantness you get in the beginning.

An ambery vanilla with a hint of tobacco. It smells good but I feel like there are other scents that are just as good for a way cheaper price tag.
