Fatal Charme

Xerjoff continues to surprise me with scents that are unlike any other. I know the "Join the club" line from this house doesn't get as hyped up as some of the other scents they've produced - but I've definitely fallen for the ones I've tried, and I'm intrigued to try the others gone un-sniffed! Fatal Charme was the first perfume in the past hundred-or-so that I've tested that made me feel something. What a painfully beautiful fragrance. The opening is ultra feminine; Dainty, crisp, effervescent and bubbly. The combination of powder & aldehydes in the note pyramid led me to believe that this would be a dated, old-fashioned type of scent... but it's actually done in a very modern way! Fizzy, marshmallow-sweet aldehydes, and crisp-powdery-vagueness, like marzipan, or sugar-coated easter almonds with an edge. Really makes you want to snuggle into your arm! Although not listed, I get the tiniest bit of citrus woven through here. It's hard to describe how perfectly synthesized this fragrance is - wonderful sillage, melodic scent, but super soft in texture. Sugared & sweet, but with a velvety smooth depth. Ladylike, but not stuffy! Powdery, without being dry or chalky. This can safely be "an aldehyde-based perfume for those people who don't normally like aldehylic fragrances". (This one *does* lose me a little in the drydown, with it's crunchy-burnt-resinous-ambregris-tobacco combo thing that lingers on my skin... but the first several hours are perfection.)

I just registered on this site because I would like to share my thoughts on this masterpiece. To me, it opens with grapefruit and vetvier. Then oud appears on the stage with a creamy note. Orris dashes around with aldyhides, which is light and not smothering. I could also sense a hint of musk in the deep background. Oud can be honey sweet and minty cool, with its unique oudy note, which adds a dark complicated background. I usually like to experience oud by heating up a simple oud chip/powder, as it itself is a master scent. In this perfume, I experience oud in the above mentioned way, especially the unique scent oud carries. Also the creamy scent rounds up the whole experience and I never get sick of it due to the fresh sour scent from grapefruit, which lights up the night. In my past experience with oud perfume, it feels oud has been overly emphasised on and the effort can be made too hard. With Fatal Charme, oud somehow slides in and happens to be an intelligent move.

Fatal Charme is one of the most beguiling scents I've ever come across ... totally unexpected and the development on my skin is immensely desirable. The first 15 minutes was an all out powdery, clean and crisp floral. I thought it was charming but not impressive nor can I find anything fatal about it. From that spring clean scent emerged a walloping surprise about 30 minutes after. What used to be fresh and powdery has morphed into a snuggly, sweet and captivating aroma. It is reminiscent of a warm vanilla-amber-tonka combo. It is only slightly sweet but exceptionally hypnotic. If you decide to try it, make sure you give it time to develop on your skin. The transformation from beginning to end is quite the experience. I found another scent to love from Xerjoff.

The star of this one is a beautiful anise in the top and mid. With lots of mellow florals and fluffy creamy powdery lightly spiced vanilla fizz . Vanilla is not a listed note but I'm getting a heavy dose of it from the anise in here. The tobacco comes in very pleasantly to help put some manliness in it. Although it does settle into a powdery sugar coated amber tobacco in a makeup bag. I think it's unisex. It has some attitude to it that could make it difficult for some. It smells posh to me. It's a strong fragrance. A solid 8. The Anise in this is very good and last awhile. Two high quality anise ingredients. You can find this anise smell in other Xerjoffs. It turns heads.

Lovely! I think it leans a touch to the feminine. I'm in a 28 degree temp room and it's blooming beautifully in the warmth. It is powdery and a touch aldehydic and sweet. It does though have some umph from the spices and tobacco backing it. They sound a curious combination on paper but it really works. I think I could wear this anywhere really. It does make me think of More Than Words. It is like a very soft version of it but with the addition of orris and aldehydes. The same sweetness. MTW is lovely but it is an OUD BOMB! I get good longevity but sadly it retracts back to a skin scent quite quickly.

Fatal Charme is a powdery, floral fragrance that feels like a soft, feminine embrace. OK, I'm in love. It's more than beautiful, it's phenomenal. I'm addicted, I had to buy a full bottle immediately. Powdery iris, some retro deo spray and some sweet, "dusty" vanilla. The sweetness is not gourmand-like. Classy, comfortable, sophisticated. Sillage is not monstrous, but you will have a stable scent bubble & good longevity. The name is misleading though. I'd name Fatal Charme an overly sweet, nuclear rose-oud or something like that, not this. I think More Than Words and this one should swap names.

Wow, I have had a sample of this for several months, and I never tried it until today. It is stunning! It's powdery, comforting, like a marshmallow, but not too sweet. It is so good, can't stop smelling myself. Great sillage and longevity as well (it should have because of it's huge pricetag), the only downsides I could find is that it has such an ugly bottle, and it's super expensive. I enjoy it very much, and I will be using my sample very carefully. Once in my life when I can afford it, I will buy this.

This is not a clean perfume as you would expect seeing the notes. This is absolutely animalic charm. Think about a warrior, very cruel on the battlefield, but at the end of the day, after all the fights, he creates charm around his loved ones. This is absolutely unisex and needs the perfect occasion and attire to do justice. It's a beautiful creation by Chris Maurice.

To me it smells like Monica Bellucci on set of the D&G commercial. She wears one of those femme fatale black dresses, lots of red lipstick and powder to make it last all day. Very feminine and impossible to miss. And as all Xerjoffs this smells classy.

The smell is reminiscent of an old vintage store. Powdery, light and mysterious. Worth paying attention to, but rather overpriced.

Fatal Charme opens with soft citrusy aldehydes, but nothing sharp or piercing and won't make you smell like a cleaning product. The lemony aldehydes soften into a powdery vanilla mixed with candied violets...so soft, creamy, and fluffy like the texture of marshmallows. I love this stage of the fragrance, which lasts a few hours. After that, the spices become noticeable and I get whiffs of the type of spices used to season meat, like smoked spice rubs. It's such a weird transition when I get to this stage and it's a real tragedy because the fragrance makes an abrupt turn away from the fluffy powdery vanilla goodness and goes into a spicy smoked meat direction. It's enough to ruin this scent for me and I'm so disappointed because I was looking for something similar to Valentina Poudre, but with more powdery vanilla and less florals and Fatal Charme was exactly that...until the dry down. Would have been a love for me if not for the spice notes, which clash with the sweet and soft powdery notes. Bloodlust described the scent development very well below and I agree with everything in that review.

Fatal Charme is a heavily underrated scent from the JTC line. It opens very sweet and powdery with earthy undertones from the orris root, while the aldehydes add a sharp and slightly synthetic freshness. A heart of soft florals and salty ambergris compliment the other notes nicely and create an alluring sillage of fresh, powdery goodness. In the dry down there are some gentle hints of spices and tobacco which give the scent some added depth and lasting power, however these are not prominent and only serve as a base to the orris and aldehydes. It’s perfect for the spring as an easy every day scent and has pretty good performance too. It’s a fairly simplistic perfume with a clean and sweet character, it smells very reminiscent of Parma Violet sweets which makes it feel very nostalgic to wear. I wouldn’t say it’s worth the full retail price but if it can be found cheaper then it’s worth picking up if you enjoy powdery fragrances.

Similar to Avant Le Jour Rance & Trussardi Porta Nuova - if you like those scent profiles, you will like this one; overall nice. Clean sweet powdery- safe for office use - great for Spring -not overpowering. This will not be for everyone. I happen to be one of those who enjoy this type of fragrance- it makes me feel benevolent. !! EDIT while wearing - I decided to test Erba Gold on my other wrist; Holy Smoke, the tobacco appeared in Fatale like a phantom ghost as if it was fighting Erba for center stage. So interesting, now I like it even more.

On me this fragrance leans powdery/sweet almost like cream soda. That's the exact vibe I get from it, an effervescent cream soda or Rock and Rye scent. It lasts for hours on end and projects with a vengeance. It's a force to be reckoned with if you were to overspray, this is a one or two sprays tops scent. It's a bit too expensive, especially at retail, for what it is but it is a nice and comforting fragrance. Get it on a deep discount and you're good.

It's very powdery and floral. Something for the hardcore Iris lovers. Pass for me but you can't not appreciate the beauty of the composition even if it's not your cup of tea. It's blended very well and longevity is way beyond desired with such type fragrances. Classic, elegant, a little bit boarding school teacher kind of vibe. Miss Jennifer Honey but more upscale and traditional in manners.

Powdery iris bomb. Like a woman’s version of DHI. Maybe a touch too feminine for me. Picked up for an absolute steal (less than the price of most ‘inspired by’ fragrances these days). Quality stuff.

Very powdery aldehydic with a glamorous vibe. Fatal Charme would be the perfect scent for a sensual, seductive woman with lots of confidence. Excellent performance.

This one is mainly powdery but the aldehydes and sweetness give it this super strong sugary vapor that hurts my nose. A dry sweetness, like taking a huge sniff from a bucket of white sugar......with powdery/white-musky notes. There's a bit of a fruit syrup note too. Smells like a high quality cheapie lol. Sort of reminds me of Kenzo Poppy a little. The overpowering orris+aldehydic combo reminiscent of Molinard Violet and Berdoues Violet. I've made my way through half my bottle over about 2 years; it's not a favorite but I don't hate it, despite the nose headache.

Not a unisex scent to my nose at all. It's feminine. In the opening, it smells almost exactly like 'Love Hearts', the sweets, but with a floral, slightly soapy backbone. It does eventually develop a mild aniseed note. If you want something ultra sweet and powdery, it's OK, but don't pay a lot for it, it's not worth niche prices IMHO. It's not terrible, but for me, certainly not suitable for 90% of situations I would find myself in: 6/10

I am always fascinated by the way that Xerjoff reimagines Amber into various fragrances. Fatal Charme is another interpretation in their secretive Club line. It is a pretty powdery iris amber. Much smoother than the others in the collection. My favorite is more than words...it is a beast with amazing sillage and longevity. This is the opposite. So would say it could be interpreted as MTW younger, softer sister.

It does smell like scented baby wipes (not to be confused with baby powder). It's also lemony and powdery. Reminds me a bit of a specific hand soap from a restaurant bathroom. More delicate and feminine leaning. Also now reminding me a tiny bit of asian car freshener, Squash.

For my nose this smells like a men sweat after 3 hours, very very manly. Can not imagine wearing this scent as I am a delicate, fine woman in pastel color. Reminds me exactly of Sospiro Accento, but Sospiro has more power, is long-lasting and the silage is bombastic.

Just as the others have said, this smells like baby wipes. But the "spicy notes" and tobacco actually add a strange, rank element to the powdery notes, so it's almost like a cleaning product after it's been used.

To my nose this is powdery and sharp with a very strong liquorice accord which must be the combination of orris and aldehydes. Projects like crazy.

No wonder its the cheapest one out of the collection for only $90 for a bottle. Which means the discounter paid $50 for it. And it cost Xerjoff $10 to make it. Just think, what kind of ingredients are u gonna get for less tan $10? It’s garbage. I wouldn’t buy this powdery mess even for $10. The bottle is worth more than the juice inside. I am not at all liking anything Xerjoff has been putting out lately. The monkey one is a gimmicky mess. It starts out pretty nice, but changes, and not for the good. Ppl only buy it because they’re a BS fan. The perfume is not very good, no silage and terrible longevity. Ah if only these perfumes would stay as beautiful as they are in the opening, but no, they all dry down to a cheap synthetic chemical mess. In case y’all haven’t noticed, Xerjoff have been reformulating all of their best selling frags. If u have any older bottles bought before 2016, I would use it very sparingly. And IF you’re lucky enough to own a pre 2012 bottle of Richwood in their ugly old original bottle, you have a treasure. Let me know if you want to sell it. It’s ok if it’s used, partial or even half a bottle. Message me.

The shoe equivalent of this perfume would be a pair of clown shoes, total bobos. For me this scent was a hot mess, so much that it's hard to believe anyone would sell this. Smells almost exactly like Dr Pepper and lacks definable notes. Weirdly metallic. Sillage was mediocre for this house, and the longevity was fine even though I wished it weren't.

It's definitely a unique smell, nothing like I wore before. I gradually am updating my review from the moment I got it... So look at the updates in the particular order. 1. In some ways it reminds me of different perfumes from different brands. I just received it, because I met my courier at the gate and I was waiting for my taxi I opened the box and sprayed it on my scarf. It is a cold winter outside about - 15 C. It opens like a fluffy cloud as someone else described, I am fluent in Russian and I moved from NZ recently. So surprisingly many Russians are crazy about it. Also I finally got a courage and blind bought it because of a review from someone in UK. So, happy I got it right. He warned that at the start in is a bit like animalic or something but in like short while it goes away. At first I thought it was anise note, but I love sambuka drink or any perfume with anise note is pleasant for me. Interesting that I went to see my cousin and she said she smells something really pleasant, I asked her if she thinks it's anise as a doctor she probably would know that straight away she said no. If you smell it on your skin it does smell a bit like some chemical or anise to me. Probably I can distinguish just some note which reminds me of Nasamatto Pardon. I loved that perfume as well, because it is so different and not for everyone it has also some good and bad reviews just like FC ... Ok so in conclusion I would probably never wear it in summer when it's hot. In Russia they say it is perfect in the rain. I loved wearing Pardon during winter in NZ in the rain as well. I brought it to Queenstown in July with me and gosh when it snows and it's -5C it opens with that sexy and rich hint. Just like FC does. So, don't get rid of it if you feel like it's not your scent. Give it another try in the cold climate. It makes a huge difference. One more thing here someone put it as a similar scent to Pikovaya Dama. I have it right now on my left hand and FC on my right. No similarity. If you like perfumes like Aphrodisiac by Initio that is slightly reminiscent perhaps, but again I smelled nothing like FC. If it has aldehytes than they are so light or I can't smell them at all. I had Oxygen by Lanvin and I have Chanel 5 which can choke you with it. I grew up in the cloud of Chanel N5 as my mom wore it during my childhood, so my perfumes have this note. No, nothing even close in FC... But it's not vanilla either like in Aphrodisiac. If Pardon would have a female partner it smells like this but very very feminine. I think I am starting to fall in love with it. I am not rich or I can afford to go shopping in Italy, but I do love Xerjoff perfumes... If you like Entro or Initio DNA you most definitely would find this one appealing to you. I am going on the journey to explore it more. I had a huge discount through my shop online and I couldn't choose between Ivory Routes and FC I am so happy I ordered this one. It's not an easy perfume to wear and it is not a skin perfume. People will smell it from far away just spray it a tiny bit. Not too much. But it's the same with Pikovaya Dama you can't have more than two sprays of both of them. I would use in the future just one of FC. I just want to add here after reading some reviews of my Russian crowd, some mentioned that the image they see of a lady on a shopping spree wearing the kidskin gloves. And that just hit me when I sprayed it for the first time outside in the cold it did smell a bit like kidskin, but mixed with sambuca. I just forgot to mention it here. Someone said it smells like a suitcase of fresh cash notes. I think it might smell a bit like that, too. When I think you are getting new printed bills from your ATM or at the bank, perhaps it smells a bit like that too. 2. It's now 13 hours after my first application or might be close to it. I think I applied twice at night and it is definitely around 10 hours later and I still have got it on my right hand. Mind you that Pikovaya Dama smells much stronger. And again they aren't the same even in the base. 3. I am wearing it for 48 hours by now, sorry I am a huge fan of iris but... where is it here? I can't find it. I was outside in the snow and the whiff of scent which reminded me sugar coated peanuts appear to me coming from me. I can see why people can get tired of it as it doesn't change, just fade slowly. It is very femine still and I can smell the same fluffy cloud as before.

Fatal Charme it to me, a Masterpiece. Initially I bought this to my husband, but hey, it was so addictive, it’s like a candy that you only eat when you’re alone, you only take one piece and save some for later, you smell the candy box and love the taste, the smell, it smells like one thing and I haven’t found a good description of this scent yet. It’s something edible and enchanting, guess the aldehydes lifts it up like an haze of indigo. To me it’s worth every penny and I keep coming back for more. It’s beautiful and perfectly unisex. It doesn’t smell like Mugler Angel, but I find it similar because of how they both only smell like one thing. To me this is timeless, ageless and a mood changer, perfect all year, but it does the trick in our dark and cold season here in Norway, to lift my mood above short days, darkness and cold.

I'm a bit confused here. Maybe it's my nose, but I get none of that powdery aldehydes nor orris everyone is talking about. I get an ambery spicy gourmand sweet scent. It is a touch more toned down than the usual spicy ambers I'm used to (I love this genre so might just be my skin instantly projects it all over anything else!) point is this to me is a sweet gourmand, soft warm spicy (cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg) scent. Touch of tobacco is also noticeable but powder? Aldehydes? Where? Hmmm.... im indecisive about this one. When first sprayed, i get a sickly medicinal vibe, seems very synthetic at the start. Thankfully that only lasts for a few minutes, and evaporates off. What remains is a sweet soft floral, with a powdery side, but still under all that, im consistently smelling something synthetic. Its not displeasing, its just odd, and is confusing me to how to explain it, Perhaps this is the aldehydes? Someone may be able to help there. All in all, id say its not fully in the feminine pitch, but has one and a half feet there. Sadly not a favourite Xerjoff for me.

I’ve been sampling Xerjoff fragrances for the better part of two months. Fatal Charme stood out for me immediately. I wouldn’t say I’m a huge lover of aldehydes, but I’m someone who can tolerate them if it’s the right fragrance. I find FC to be a very well blended powdery floral with spicy undertones. I can also detect the tiniest bit of tobacco. It’s an incredibly sexy, sophisticated fragrance that has decent projection & longevity. I get about 8 hours (3-4 sprays) before it starts to dissipate. By far, it’s my favorite from the JTC line. I just feel elegant when I wear it!

Powdry, almost vetiver like opening notes greets you initially and then it moves on to a bit floral and more aquatic ambergris middle part. The base gets a bit darker.. A hint of tobacco and spice is there too without moving too far from its overall freshness. 3 to 4 sprays will easily last you 5 to 6 hours with a decent silage. Overall impression.. This fragrance is tailor made for a youthful well dressed, well mannered, well educated corporate sector high roller who gets noticed for his personality, his skills and he always leaves behind a unique fatal charme scent trail.

I have a decant and just bought the full bottle. To me this reminiscent of an expensive french deliciously gooey red lipstick that you want to keep licking off. A very chic and elegant woman would wear this when shes dressed to the nines. It's also fairly priced for what it is. I love this and probably over spray because it's absolutely dreamy. This will always in my collection. 💄🫦❣️ (Getting my back up bottles while the price is so reasonable). To me this IS a modern beast mode and fills the room perfume. GORGEOUS 😍

I tested the vintage bottle version. Expensive powder with weak projection. The newer bottle is probably even worse. Save your money. I don't know what Xerjoff are doing with their formulations but almost nothing from this house impresses me anymore. Where is the legendary projection and sillage? Where is the legendary Xerjoff? Soon to be gone I believe. Even Naxos isn't what it used to be.

its got this perfume as gift from one of my friends. But really this perfume is not which I expect frome xerjoof. Because it's very strong and sharp which is not good especially for men. But try to use it by wearing it and mix it with other orinteal perfume like amber and , oud perfumes ets. 4/10

I love it so much! The beginning is a little confusing but the dry down is powdery iris but subtle. Its like a warm comforting blanket and an amazing signature scent. Its unique at the same time pleasing to most, a compliment magnet and lasts about 6 hours on skin. IMHO this is quite feminine.

These notes are completely off. The only correct thing are the Powdery notes. This has anise, some sort of tonka, vanilla and most definitely heliotrope. This actually reminds me of Armani Code Ultimate. I have both and the resemblance is uncanny. Very middle of the road Unisex in my opinion.

À sweet blast of green vanilla, followed by a delicate vetiver . I was wondering if Luckyscent sent me the adequate sample or switched with Goutal's Vanille Exquise. But I get some sweet iris in addition for thé first 30sec, very unusual. This parfume will require more time for a review.

I just put it on and need more time with it, but so far I’m getting a strong anise or licorice note combined with powder. So far, I’m not sure I like it because of the anise, but I’ll wear it for a bit longer and see if that softens.

This is not a fragrance for man, at all. Fortunately I only sprayed a little on the back of my hand, which will now stay in pocket for the next six hours lol. Being Xerjoff it is potent, but I do not want to smell like this.

Iris iris and more iris this is beautiful and changes around once applied the ambergris in this is no joke it keeps the iris floating off the skin for hours and hours. This reminds me of a red carpet event

The powdery aspect of this overpowers the woody notes. This is like a much more powdery version of Dior Bois d Argent. This smells like when a beautiful celebrity hugs you this smells like their make up.

This is much nicer than I expected. Modern, a slight aniseed/liquorice note, but it’s not too sweet, and it takes the edge of the Iris and powder. I like it. Maybe I’m now an ‘older woman’. The horror.

Got a sample of this with my Italica purchase. Smells like baby wipes, if you'd like to smell like baby wipes then please buy this!
