Golden Dallah

From the start I can feel something deliciously sweet, verging on chewy but covered in cigarette smoke. I was thinking dates, because it's something edible, and covered with exotic spices. I also had an image of dates being roasted in a fire made of exotic woods. During a night. It's very intimate in sillage, subtle but present. It warms up my currently cold skin. It's autumn already and I have circa 18-21 degrees celsius inside my room which is not exactly my comfort temperature ;) The image it paints: Both the cigarettes and the exotic scent are of high quality. They surround someone bright and emotionally warm. The scent is multifaceted and unique. A very outgoing aura that brightens up cold, boring days and evenings. I just might start to love it. It is a time warping teleport for me. I used to love to smoke, but only in a good company and place, and even this prooved to be time specific.. I used to love Kenzo Jungle, and would use it all the time since I fell in love with it at my 18. I am not sure if I've been using it during a day in my still highschool time, but if so, till the evening it would soften to this amount of spice when I was out and about after school or in the evening with my then friends. It's also very possible that I was only using it during the evening back then. My school was the no make up - nothing revealing type, and I was not used to parfums during a day. Going out in the evening though, I would hide my fav scent under my clothes and scarf, and it's been o.k to smoke in the place I've been regularly visiting. Smoking plus socializing was the main attraction of that place ;) Then my scent would get covered with cigarette smoke, melting into my clothes and leather coat that I loved to wear back then. Voila ! The smell of Golden Dallah :)

My first try from Xerjoff’s Coffee Break collection is Golden Dallah, the member of the collection that seems to be reputed to actually contain the most coffee. I definitely fall into the camp of immediately smelling cannabis upon first spray, perhaps the effect the named Cambodian oud note, the overall blend smelling like a mix of cannabis, coffee, resins, and just a touch of cocoa. It’s a great blend that hints at being a sweet gourmand while really only being partly that, instead a coupling of the cocoa/resins and oud/cannabis aspect. And it performs very well, with strong projection from the onset and seemingly quite great longevity. To clarify, though, the coffee is present but not dominant. I would not label this a coffee-rich, let alone a coffee-dominant fragrance, at least based on how it smells on my skin. The cannabis accord in Golden Dallah reminds me of two of Dua Fragrances’ two original blends—Cannabliss with the Mobster and Pineapple Express—with Golden Dallah landing somewhere between the dark boozy tobacco vibe of the former and fresh fruity aspect of the latter. Golden Dallah is priced at $235 for 50ml and is sold by great boutiques like Beverly Hills Perfumery and Luckyscent as well as Saks Fifth Avenue and the Xerjoff Universe website. I obtained my sample from the Xerjoff website but both Beverly Hills Perfumery and Luckyscent sell the official spray samples in addition to full bottles. Overall, this is a clear winner that may be a little challenging due to the sort of cannabis/oud accord, but for those that enjoy it, it might be a welcome, daring, semi-gourmand. 8 out of 10

I never had a chance to try a sample of it even I heard many good things about it until I found a deal for Black Friday from Saks then I blind bought it. I was kinda disappointed when I first sprayed it even though I could definitely smell the quality of it because its opening smells so much like the Angels’ Share I got not too long ago except it’s missing the cognac note and something brighter in the opening. I knew Angels’ Share is new and it’s sure not a clone of AS but I’m disappointed not because of its quality or bad scent. It’s just because I always try not to get something similar. Lucky that it smells totally different than the AS after the dry down. Its dry down is woody oriental plus incense with the coffee gives it a cozy warm feel and the rose give it a bright feel at the same time while AS is dark boozy all the way with oak in the base. I can’t quite detect the oud and cacao though. Instead, I get the creamy amber from the base, which I always love. They’re actually so different except the similar first impression. Longevity is great. Last about 9-10 hours on my skin. Not huge projection but also not skin scent. People would definitely smell you within 1-2 feet of you. Overall very nice scent and I love it as I always love cozy warm scents. It is a coffee base perfume with the most coffee note I can detect and I love coffee. It is very high quality and well blended as Xerjoff always has. It is definitely a 9/10 for me. Alexandria II is still my favorite from Xerjoff and 10/10 for me tho.

I’ve yet to find a frag from Xerjoff that I dislike. I have 9 in total, and love each one of them. I consider Xerjoff to be my number 1 house, followed by Parfums de Marly and By Kilian both in 2nd place. This frag is ever so mystical (to me), and I get hints of candy, but I also get a strong (not a hint) smell of cannabis on my skin, not in a horrible or off putting way, and most certainly not making you smell like you were just having a couple of tokes with Cheech & Chong, but it starts about 5 minutes after the initial spritz and then I get nostalgia with flashbacks of when I used to live in Egypt and would visit the coffee shops in the centre of Cairo that had been there for decades and decades. This is a very well blended frag, that really does paint a picture (in my mind’s eye) of the Middle Eastern coffee shops, not the coffee in itself, but the whole aroma that comes with it, with a sense of cannabis, but saying that I love the story it’s telling me, and where it’s transporting me to, I can not stop sniffing it, it’s fabulous and luxurious and nostalgic. I’d rate it more masculine leaning, but I can’t see how a woman can’t pull this off, but for me, I personally wouldn’t like to smell it on a woman, it has no feminine vibe in it, and has a smoky feel to it, again as if you were in a Middle Eastern coffee shop, with the sheesha, spices and coffee aromas. It’s gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous, the mystery, nostalgia slight sweetness is simply divine, yet another win from Xerjoff for me.

Guys, I swear, I bought a sample 1 week ago, because I knew it will be fantastic. I sprayed it for the first time, and I went out with my friends to a beer fest. In the ending of the evening one girl came to me, and she told me that she and her girlfriend remembered me, when I walked at their table and when they smelled my perfume, they adored it. She asked from me what it was. That was the first time, when I used the scent! I think that speaks for itself. That’s a beast. Golden Dallah is a luxury, warm, charming, and long lasting fragrance. It’s unisex, however it's definitely in the manly way, so it's maybe not the best option for women. In the first minutes you can feel the spices, and after the warm tonka bean, the light oud arrives with a very soft smokeness. I don't smell the coffee in this, but it's not a problem for me. Excellent for autumn. It's hard to overdose it, because the sillage is balanced. Maybe it’s not so popular than other scents of Xerjoff, but this one is a real treasure. I saw it today on a very popular and reliable website at half price (about 140€), so I ordered it. I’m excited ‘cause it will be my first Xerjoff. Golden Dallah has a great chance to be my signature scent. Okay, it’s not cheap at full price, but really worth it. If women chasing an unknown man to find out what is he wearing than I don’t need to say more. Buy it, you won’t regret it.🫡

If Parfums de Marly's Herod and Replica's Jazz Club had a love child, I believe it would be Golden Dallah? On first sprits its a punchy, heady amber with a whole lot of sweetness and spice and all things nice. I think it's incredibly sexy right from the start. This is a frag on a mission, one that always gets the apple of their eye at the end of a *good* chick-flick. I personally find Golden Dallah to be an intoxicating date night scent that leans masculine enough for me to prefer this on my partner's skin than on my own. If he wore it, I'd be all over it, so I would inevitably end up wearing it as well. An hour in and I'm starting to pick up the coffee note, which is the note I was most excited for... but I still think it's pretty subtle and really out powered by the amber. It's becoming creamy and woody and I am also starting to pick up that animalic vibe. Still super sexy! I do understand why other reviewers say it smells more like a rich smoky-sweet tea rather than coffee. 4 hours in and it's become quite smoky and aromatic. Very lovely, still attractive but more in a comforting way (so you have a four hour time slot -ahem). I think it still projects fairly well and is quite long lasting and full bodied. I would not recommend blind buying a FB. Sometimes these woody spicy fragrances aren't as mass appealing as one might think. Sample first!

I saw a you tube review of this perfume by Sebastian of Smelling Great Fragrance Reviews and ordered samples from Xerjoff Universe.com for their new coffee break series. I bought Golden Dallah immediately after smelling it! This perfume has a soft scent of incense, hazelnut, cocoa, rose, amber and a mellow oud on my skin. No coffee note shows up on me but that happens usually with any coffee perfume I try (Ysl Black Opium for example). Other reviewers who tested this smelled a strong coffee note so I know it is just my body chemistry hiding the coffee scent. Sigh! This perfume lasts a long time in extreme heat, usually 6-8 hours, depending if I’m outside in 120 degree desert heat or in air conditioned places. It leaves a nice scent trail and projects at least 6 feet. Arizona is hot most of the year so I am wearing this perfume daily. So far I haven’t choked anyone with the scent but I only do 2 sprays, one on each wrist, and I avoid wearing it in close quarters to others during the day. It can be worn day or night but if you are an oversprayer do not wear this to work. Overall I give this perfume 10 out of 10 because it smells beautiful and lasts a long time on my skin. I recommend this perfume if you like yummy scents! I plan to buy Golden Moka from this coffee break series soon.

I’m a simple person, not accustomed to luxury. I grew up in USSR, when we barely had any access to any luxuries, and Red Moscow was the most common fragrance almost everyone had as there was not much to pick from... Then my father, God knows how, scored a bottle of Nina Ricci’s L’Air du Temps for my mom. This was something else! Real French perfume! Pretty bottle (compared to standard plain Jane Soviet ones), heavenly scent! Ever since French perfumery was a peak of greatness for me. Since then years passed. I’ve tried various perfumes, designer, niche... Some are better than the others... Golden Dallah brought me back to when I first laid my hands (and nose) on Nina Ricci. This is a whole new level of luxury for me! Everything in it is impeccable. The package, the stunning bottle, the mind blowing fragrance... First, Jo Malone Myrrh & Tonka took me away from average designers, now Xerjoff Golden Dallah took me even further to some new levels of perfumery I have not previously experienced. Agree with the folks here who call cannabis. For the first few minutes it’s very loud! Wonder, what makes it smell like this as the cannabis is not listed in the notes? Unless they consider it Exotic Spices :) It’s a BIG LOVE to me!

I don’t get all the reviews comparing this to Jazz Club and saying it dries down to just tobacco and “ashtray”. No, that’s not right. If that’s so, then there’s something very wrong with the pH of your skin. This is one million times better than Jazz Club will ever be. They’re not even the same, like at all. Stop comparing the two. I really think the people that compare the two are just unhappy because this costs more. You get what you pay for and this is no exception. Also not to mention Jazz club is not nearly as strong or long-lasting as this. It’s like comparing a Porsche 911 Turbo to a Hyundai Genesis. Both are nice luxury cars but the Porsche blows the Hyundai out of the water in all aspects. This is a beautiful amber spicy nutty scent with a hint of coffee and cacao. It’s absolutely stunning and in my opinion the best out of the three of the coffee break collection. Golden Green coming in second, then Golden Moka although something about Golden Green makes me kind of nauseous. Suprising since I’m a huge cardamom fan but I still enjoy it. I knew I needed a full bottle of Golden Dallah after getting a sample of this and wearing it a few times. Longevity and sillage are excellent. 9/10 for me.

Golden Dallah smells like nothing I expected before. At first, I was kinda unsure if I like it or not, but after a few more tries, I can say that it is an excellent fragrance. It is hard for me to love this type of fragrance (especially with how that incense is dominating the scent of this fragrance), but Golden Dallah is beautiful to me. I think aside from the spices, incense, cacao, smokiness, and some nuttiness + sweetness, I also get a dark, dried tobacco accord here. I do smell some kind of "exotic spices" here, because I can sense a vibe of what smells like spices from Indian or other Asian cuisines (in a good way). It also lasts for a very long time on my skin. 10+ hours with a great projection in around the first two hours. It is a cold weather fragrance, but if you really want to wear it in a hotter environment, you can do it with less sprays. Give it a try. I think it is one of the most underappreciated fragrance from the entire Xerjoff fragrances line.

I blind bought this after reading the note breakdown. Golden Dallah is currently my favourite perfume, it seems to strike the perfect balance of smokiness, spiciness, sweetness, nuttyness and a subtle hint of coffee. There appeared to be a quick blast of cardamom in the opening too, however this quickly fades away leaving a rich warm, smoky, sweet concoction of spices hazel nuts, cocoa and tonka. The coffee note sits in the background and aids the other elements of this incredibly pleasant fragrance. I'm a 41 year old male, I'd say it is perfectly unisex and suitable for use in cool weather. I may even try my luck by wearing this on cool Spring/Summer evenings. I'm surprised Golden Dallah has flown under the radar for so long, definitely worthy of more love from the fragcom. I just wish there was a 100ml bottle of this very fine fragrance so I wouldn't have to worry about burning through the 50ml I have.

A devine merging of sweet spices, incense, dark roasted coffee, roasted hazlenuts and aromatic herbs. Throughout the dry down a pink jammy rose peeks through the other notes, bringing a sweetness throughout the wear time. In the opening there is a strong smoked incense, reminiscent of cannabis (as others have described), a dark roasted Arabic coffee and what smells subtlety like toasted hazleneuts to my nose, which creates an almost toasted biscuit profile. The dry down is a dry cacao along with a sweet tonka and soft amber. Whilst this perfume is sweet I wouldn't call it gourmand at all, instead the sweetness is from the spices and floral aspects found in the composition. I feel this one is very unisex and would work on either a woman or a man - it smells delicious on my male partner and we bought a full bottle to share.

A richly nostalgic, sweet warm amber. I don't get cannabis or cigarettes per se (not a good smell to me as a non-smoker), but I do get a certain environment where those things may lightly linger, like the coffee shops of the past that allowed smoking in a separate area. There's sweet desserts, coffee in the air, a hint of smoke in the thick carpets and curtains. A reference likely only with meaning to myself, but when I smell this I think of a short story called Gas Station Carnivals, whose author (Ligotti) was located nearby where I grew up, and I always felt like that story in particular explored a very familiar psychogeography (which is kind of its uncanny point). This takes me to those artist-hangout smoky coffee houses that serve as the setting of that story, and of my own teenage years. I smell this, and I remember.

It should be illegal to smell THIS GOOD! Only 4 sprays underneath my hoodie and I'm projecting at work like crazy, I want to bite myself, ahhhh so good. Worth every dime! The smoothest chocolatey coffee with smoky hazelnut, 10/10!. The oud is present but far in the back to round the fragrance along with a touch of spices peeking here & there. The rose & tonka bean are sooo muted almost non-existent so no powderiness. It's warm from the amber but not too warm that you cannot pull it off during the current UK weather, I'm obsessed and I recommend sampling. If you love scents like Black phantom, you will be obsessed with this. Lasting power is ridiculous, until I shower and days on clothes. Projection is incredible! Compliments magnet on me! Exquisite fragrance!

On me Golden Dallah starts off with the most gorgeous, creamy, sugared notes of red currants and maybe something like strawberry jelly sprinkled with spices like nutmeg and cardamom. I know these notes are not listed anywhere but that's what I get. Perhaps it's just rose mimicking these sugared berries. As it starts to dry down Golden Dallah gets creamier and creamier with a hint of incense and cacao. Every time I wear it, I am transported to a tiny Parisian café. It's early spring and pavements are freshly wet after a brief shower. A warm cup of café crème is sitting next to a plate of warm berry jelly tarts their aromas mixing in the air - and that to me is what Golden Dallah smells like. Utterly gorgeous and very nostalgic scent for me.

Warm, exotic, spicy and sexy. This is one I really enjoy wearing but would probably love even more on a woman. I didn't know how to feel about it the first time I smelled it, but I couldn't stop coming back and popping the cap off to get another whiff. It quickly had me feelin some kind of way, and I liked it. The scent is high end, it's spicy in a cozy way, slightly sweet and warm, the incense in the background is beautiful and what really brings all the exotic notes in this fragrance together and keeps it unisex in my opinion. Longevity is insane and it certainly projects but it's never been overwhelming. For me it's a strong 8.5/10 and will be in rotation this fall and winter, but if i was rating it for a woman to wear it'd be a 😍/10

First blast of sweet spices floating on top of dark Turkish coffee. After a minute, the coffee deepens and a slightly floral, sweet hazelnut starts to present. It's dark and yet bright at the same time, so interesting! I imagine this is what the inside of a sheik's tent smells like in those old black and white movies. Unisex and best for everything but hot weather; I'd imagine the scent would get too heady when heated. 6+ hours later: Still going fairly strong. Scent has settled into a sweet and dark floral hazelnut. For me this perfume is all about the dry down. 30+ hours later: Still there. I'd say it rivals Baccarat Rouge for longevity, on my skin anyway.

Mesmerizing Oriental spicy centered around a beautiful Arabian coffee accord. The perfume opens with a finely tuned exotic spice accord where as I sense Cardamon, nutmeg and cinnamon notes, uplifting and lively. Taking hold of you just before moving to a balsamic ambery heart accentuated with amber, Oud and incense. The perfume settles on a nutty sweet sensual base of Tonka, cocoa and hazelnut creating and alluring scent profile . Masculine leaning with moderate sillage and projection and very good longevity. Absolutely superb like many in the Xerjoff line of Oriental perfumery with very high quality ingredients.

I received this as a sample from Xerjoff in Italy. It was love at first sniff. The perfume is so well blended that you can't pick one note in particular out. I get a very fruity juicy note and I can smell rose and oud blended into the middle layers. I find it sweet, but it's not the sweet type that rots your teeth, it's a sophisticated sweetness. As the fragrance settles into the skin you start to get more of the oud/woodiness coming through. I would defo but a full bottle of I had not just purchased Lira and Italica. A beautiful frgrance for fall through to spring. I find it to be more feminine leaning.

The best way to describe this scent is a spicy hot drink with extra spice! The incense and rose, combined with warm amber softens the Oud to be such an enjoyable experience. I don’t get black coffee with cacao, but I feel there’s more of a hot hazelnut, greener coffee scent. The initial spray is incredibly strong, drying down to warm, spicy, mature fragrance that lasts 12 hours on my skin, projects for 3 hours very well and has great sillage. I would suggest Golden Dallah after you’ve tried Naxos, 40 knots, Torino21 and Alexandria II, in that order. Recommendation: Buy Rating: 4.5/5
