Jebel

This is a fruity, musky fragrance with a strong aniseed accord. This creation is not overly complex, however the combination of these ingredients and their outstanding quality make for a very solid release. Performance is out of this world. When you wear this people around you will know you're wearing something special. There are similarities between this and Thierry Muglers Miroir des vanites. Both have that strong aniseed accord. However, where TM's creation turns soapy and generic, this manages to keep me interested. This is a fruity scent that can be worn in winter, due to the strong presence of musk in the base, although this musk never overpowers the composition, it simply 'thickens' it. You could also wear this in summer, but apply with caution. This is an extremely potent perfume. Xerjoff produced a limited number of these in 2015 and did literally no marketing for it. So this fragrance slipped under the radar for most people (also due to the fact that fragrantica only added this to their DB this year). It was created as a Qatar exclusive, however I don't think it did very well over there due to the fact that its a fruity, floral musk fragrance, and knowing that region, a darker perfume would have been much better suited. Xerjoff's customer service had no interest in helping me which I found somewhat offensive, considering the money I have spent on this brand. I understand that is was a limited edition years ago but simply lying to me and telling me it was sold out everywhere (when in reality it was still available in Qatar also) is not good customer service. I guess they're more interested in selling their continuing scents.

For selfish reasons I consider this a significant love. I instantly received a memory of my 19th birthday. At the record store. Dimple Records to be exact in Sacramento California. I remember being excited for the day to come. I was going to celebrate downtown with my entire family at a high-end Hawaiian restaurant. This doesn't mean much to the person reading this, but to me this fragrance brings about a certain significance. How strange scent can be and how important its part can play. Perhaps it was the lip gloss I was wearing during one of my happiest memories. It's one of those things, Jebel. One of those fragrances you immediately get attached to. I do not have a good reference as to what a perfect raspberry smells like, either in fragrance form or fresh from the market. I'm not the biggest raspberry fan, but I do enjoy it when I get the chance. Jasmine I enjoy often and very much. The Jasmine in Jebel smells very similar to the composition of Alien. It's almost like Jasmine jam if that makes sense. Intoxicating raspberry spread with floral undertones. Right on the border of a gourmand, again, very similar to Alien. This is everything I wish Alien was. I highly recommend especially if you are looking for a fragrance that is approachable while maintaining a niche scent profile.

This would have been a love. The raspberry citrus opening was lovely. The jasmine that followed was lovely. The amber woody scent that followed was also lovely. However, the musk that closed the curtains opened up lovely, only to fall flop in the face after turning stale. So the whole thing became a like instead of a love because of the stale musky note. Initially I was wondering why such a lovely piece of olfactory art was discontinued. This staleness might have been the reason.

Whoever put Alien up there is right, the opening is very identical, the mid and bottom start to dwindle down in a softer and smoother experience, far less aggressive than Alien but still a strong scent. The entire experience is borderline feminine to me, I don't feel comfortable wearing this as I had a lot of encounters with ladies wearing the TM fragrance. Truth to be told, the more I try the xerjof line the more it becomes clear they are far less original than people think, they just do an extremely good job in the quality department.
