JTC 400

Four years ago, I blind-bought 400 as a more feminine-leaning Naxos; and I wasn’t disappointed. Personally, I think Naxos leans masculine and this is straight down the middle unisex — I can easily picture this on a sophisticated man. I’m going to sometimes stray from the listed notes (especially since they’re undisclosed in this Join The Club line) and share my experience with 400: The overall impression this fragrance gives me is Manuka honey, white tobacco and bubble-gummy tuberose. [You can stop reading here if you don’t need to know the excruciating details.] Lately, I’ve been wanting to understand what’s become my favorite perfume more so I took a deep dive in studying it. This is so well-blended that I really had to search to catch on to specific notes. The opening has bitter orange and mandarin. I also get honey and tobacco right away. I believe the tobacco accord includes cinnamon, vanilla, cedar, powdery violet/orris and vetiver (so they’re not prominent as individual notes). It reminds me of the tobacco that I can smell walking past the cigar bar/shop in my city. There’s a minty facet which I’ve concluded is from Methyl salicylate/Wintergreen oil. Concentrating really hard, I was surprised to find myself smelling a hint of root beer, but then reassured when I later learned that’s a characteristic of this material. It’s subtle, like a veil, that turns common honey into Manuka, rose into geranium, and ylang-ylang (combined with Smarties candy adjacent orange blossom) into tuberose. And I think this mintiness is making people believe there’s camphoraceous patchouli, but I don’t pick up on it here. Patchouli is usually persistent and still detectable in the deep dry-down but instead, I pick up on the oakmoss that’s listed in the ingredients. One spray is enough for me in work, and two if it’s a night out. Three will do if you’re the type that likes attention. More than that, and you may choke someone out.

This was not a blind buy for me, I even ordered a sample for it from the official company website, although I had already tested it on my skin prior in a local store, but even if this had been a blind buy, I wouldn't have regretted it for one single second. I have mentioned in one of my previous reviews that I have a really dry skin, no matter what I do, so I am very demanding about fragrances and choosing one is a challenge for me (actually, the only reason I turned my attention towards niche perfumery is the fact that I hoped to get the long-lasting fragrances I could not find in retail stores, even if that meant to pay more for them). 400 is, by far, the most powerful sweet-floral fragrance I have ever tried, despite being EDP and not Parfum (I have noticed that many Xerjoff fragrances belong to the "Parfum" category). The top sweetness lasts way longer than expected (probably like 20-25 minutes, which is insane) on my skin (even on my wrists, although I am washing my hands very often and they are the most prone to dehydration). The overall duration I could measure was of around 11 hours for me and the last element I could still feel at the end was a well-defined vanilla. Despite being so floral, I see it appropriate for colder days as well, because the top sweetness (not cloying at all for me, but it is also a matter of liking/disliking sweet perfumes, and I am on the sweet side) is quite enveloping and it makes me feel as if I had a cup of hot drink in my hand.

This was one of the four samples sent to me from Xerjoff when I bought a bottle of Naxos. Reading the notes, I assumed it would be similar to Naxos, but it’s not really. I loved this at first spray and I’m not into florals that much. When I sprayed the back of my hand, I realized 400 reminded me of something nostalgic from the 90’s, but I couldn’t remember, so I asked my wife what does this scent remind you of? She agreed we knew this scent and then she said I know what it is, and said this smells like the body lotion your mom used to wear from bath & body works called plumeria. Bingo that was it. If you remember that scent, that’s what I think of. Plumeria lotion/citrus/orange in the top notes drying down to tiny bits of honey, tobacco, vanilla, patchouli and woody notes. I can’t stop smelling my hand. I’m realizing that I really like sweeter scents, so that might explain my love for this. This seems to be a strong performer, but not cloying on my skin. I believe it’s definitely FBW. I don’t think this is a safe blind buy for either sex, but I really feel this is the type of unisex fragrance that will smell completely different on a females body than a mans and vice versa. Definitely test on you skin and not just paper.

This is just amazing. It's a fragrance that embodies the entire bitter orange. You can smell the wood of the tree, the orange flowers, the orange itself, the honey made out of the orange flowers and the pollen. Imagine the following: you mix bitter orange juice with honey made from neroli on the opening, and then once the orange juice dries out of the mixture, a neroli flower blooms out of it. But it's not any kind of neroli flower, it's a neroli flower that it's smoothened by the tobacco flower and the vanilla. And now, if you couldn't imagine whatever i've just described, this is a very natural very sweet honey with a white flower background. It projects heavy and lasts for a long time. It is very fitted for the spring as it smells like spring itself. It is 85% unisex, 10% more feminine, and 5% more masculine (i know it doesn't make sense). In comparison to Naxos, replace the lavender and bergamot with neroli/whiteflowers and bitter orange and you get this. 10/10 Quality 9/10 Versatility 10/10 projection 10/10 longevity 10/10 Uniqueness

If you’re curious about 400 I will give you a comp that will make you laugh...but there is some truth to it. It shares some similarities to Jordan’s Legend. Now Michael Jordan’s Legend is a super cheapy that you can buy for 15.00 at Marshall’s. There is a gaping cavern that separates the quality of these fragrances; buuuuut, they share that white floral opening with that honeyed tobacco backbone that give both fragrances a kind feminine/masculine dichotomy. 400 is far superior in every way, but if you’ve smelled Legend then your at least in the same ballpark,(just in far better seats.) An easier comparison that won’t hurt your brain is 400 as Naxos with the white florals amped up. I am a large, burly man and I enjoy florals in my fragrances to tone down my vibe...this one works perfectly. An absolute 10/10 fragrance that I will wear for life. Update: this fragrance is insanely powerful and has soooo much depth. 8 hrs in you are still getting layers of sweetness, green tobacco and those florals...amazing.

I have 400 on for the first time. I can't tell you if there is any correlation between Oxford Street or London England in general. What I can tell you is how 400 makes me feel. And, it makes me feel reinvented. It is exceptional. For the past month, I have been testing out almost the entire collection from Xerjoff and I thought Ceylon was the pinnacle of my sample set. I was wrong. 400 has a similar note composition, most apparent in the honey opening. Perhaps the orange blossom as well. There is a gentle spice aspect and I don't know from where. Maybe the tobacco blossom? When that is juxtaposed with a sweet ylang-ylang it creates an almost narcotic effect. Of course there are other elements, but everything is blended beautifully. There is nothing overpowering or that stands out from the rest. In my opinion, this is the most successful out of the join the club series. Better than more than words. Better than 40 knots and yes, better than k’bridge Club. Attractive on a woman, Drop dead on a man.

A predominantly vanilla fragrance with a slight hint of citrus, a heavy dose of white florals, a little floral/herbal tobacco, and a cedar base. Performance is among the best Xerjoff has to offer. The opening can be overwhelming the first few wears, but definitely worth powering through. Once you begin to really understand this fragrance, it's easy to detect its beauty and superb quality. Definitely worthy of its exclusive status. This is a powerhouse that leaves a strong trail and lasts longer than most of the fragrances in my collection. Definitely work safe and right down the middle of unisex fragrances. Due to the inclusion of tobacco this is often compared to Naxos, but I see more similarities with Lira. The tobacco in this fragrances is definitely more floral and herbal than the classic tobacco used in Naxos. As a word of advice, don't judge this off of its first impression. It has much more depth than its initial blast reveals.

Honeyed tobacco flowers, creamy ylang ylang, mix of various bitter citrus and lots of vanilla! 400 is 100% the scent from Xerjoff to buy if you love an overly sweet, floral perfume! I would call this the feminine version of Naxos, though I find Naxos quite unisex and it’s probably still my favourite Xerjoff perfume out of all. It’s an intoxicating, rich, dense, opulent, citrusy, floral, honeyed tobacco blossom, vanilla based blend with strong longevity and sillage. More gourmand than Naxos and Elie Saab Le Parfum from the fragrances mentioned in the reminds me of section. The honey is syrupy sweet here and the only contrast against the gooey honey is given by the slight bitterness of the citruses from the top. As far as the other ones linked as being similar to 400 I can’t comment, I am not familiar with... So happy to add this gorgeous perfume to my spring collection! One of the Xerjoffs that fly under the radar.

This is outstanding. There is a similarity with naxos because of the honey note but i find the two very different in composition.. This i far more complex, every time i discover new nuances and aspects..It opens with a strong dark raw honey note together with orange giving a sweet fruity opening.. In the heart, white floral aspects rise, white tobacco and jasmine giving little old school vibe but very elegant and luxurious. Base notes is the typical xerjoff base of vanilla, patchouli cedarwood.. White tobacco stays until the end.. it really reminds me exactly the selfridges experience of luxury shops, coffee shops, luxury perfume stores. Longevity and projection out of this world and it is 50:50.. i am 30 male and i got many compliment on this.. Worth buying. I disagree that it is a feminine naxos. Completely.

This is so beautiful, I thought I wasn’t a fan of honey after trying a couple honeyed perfumes like Shaghaf Oud Azraq being one and this blew me away. I got 4 decants from the Xerjoff website and this being one of them, along with Ouverture, Tony Iommi and Starlight. Out of these 4 perfumes, this one was my favorite by a long shot. The florals and citruses mixed along with this deep orange blossomed honey surprised me entirely. This is a year rounder with surprising versatility but I will only wear it on more special occasions just because I don’t want to waste it for work lol. Overall an absolute banger and anybody can wear this. Also, if smelling more “feminine” is your make or break with this beautifully crafted scent, then more for me because I'm going to rock the shit out of this. Much love to you all 🙏🏽

Naxos is my first niche perfume. I bought it a few years ago in the winter and I loved it but always felt like it was missing something. This year, I tried 400 for the first time at a familiar store and I let it sit on my skin for a few hours. I really don't need to say much about 400 because for me, this is the perfect version of Naxos that I need. Sweet, smooth, clear, a little bitter, dark, and vanilla are what I get when I spray it on my skin. An extremely complex scent, not for those who have little experience with tobacco, patchouli, and honey in general. If you are not careful, you will easily associate it with the smell of balm or something unpleasant. This is exactly a scent that makes me feel masculine on important occasions but not for everyday use because it is really serious.

We often organize fragrances by event- date night, office, gym or by season. But because of its versatility, in my opinion, 400 is more of a fragrance to be organized by personality. A fragrance for ambiverts, this is a creamy, honey buttered citrus-floral that lasts over 12 hours on skin. It isn't a screamer of a fragrance but it does project nicely, so if you want a larger than life fragrance, this isn't going to be that. If you're the type of person that would be just as comfortable in or out of the center of attention then this will definitely fit your personality. If your an introvert who for 3 days out of the year want to talk to 1 new person, but reserve the right to immediately change your mind, then this may be for you on those days.

This is my favorite fragrance in the honey-tobacco-vanilla "genre" that has become so popular recently. Very honey-forward opening with a wonderful balance of sweet fruits, florals, and spices. The base notes slowly creep in as it dries down, but the honey and tobacco remain the stars of the show surrounded by an indistinguishable melange of floral notes. To my nose it's a slightly fruitier, floral version of the much more popular Naxos from the same house. A wonderfully complex scent, and IMO the bright fruits and florals make it a bit more versatile than most frags in this genre; it's more than a winter superstar. Strong projection off my skin for 3-4hr, longevity 7-8hr. Compared to Naxos, I get stronger projection but less longevity.

so i'm not gonna lie this was a complete blind buy and I love this stuff. This is my first xerjoff and I just love it; it smells like a luxurious sunscreen in the best way possible, it also is the longest lasting fragrance I have ever tried for me about 10 hours and lasts days on clothes, this this is also a projecting monster, well compared to everything else I have tried maybe like 4-5 feet of projection, and my favorite part about this fragrance is that its so versatile this could be worn anywhere from a day on the beach to a funeral or something (just keep it low on the sprays) if I had to give it a rating: smell 8.8/10 performance 8.2/10 price/value 6.3/10 versatility 9.6/10 overall 8.2/10 great stuff

I'm surprised that nobody reviewed this awesome fragrance. But let me begin that I do detect the white tobacco and honey note. People may compare this to Xerjoff Naxos, but this one is blended exceptional well and I do love the creaminess of vanilla & Mandarin orange notes. This one is a strong buy for me. I believe at the time only Selfridge's in Great Britain carried it because of it's exclusivities just to that store. This has great silage and it last on me some 12+ hours. Projection is outstanding and it's a fantastic scent for the office or out on a date. Sergio Momo hit this one out of the park. When i got it earlier this summer only the 100ml was available. Now I understand they now carry 50ml.

Amazingly lovely scent. I fell in love right away after listening to Demi Rawling's recommendation. I had to order it instantly. This may be a signature worthy scent for sure. It is classy and lady like. Def lean way feminine to my nose. The honey is only a supporting note an the white flowers take center stage but dance closely with the florals; all whilst being dusted with citrus. To me this is a wonderful spring and summer scent. It is a very long lasting scent that fills the room. In all honesty, I think this is the female version of Naxos. But that is only my opinion and I can't explain it. Just that when my husband and I wear these two on the same day, they compliment each other very well.

400 by Xerjoff: Perfect! I really like the honey note in Ceylon, and this one does not lag behind. The honey here is obviously more translucent and soft, due to the white florals and citruses. It is one of those fragrances where the composition is so masterful that it ends up forming a completely new note in the opening, coming from the blend of the main notes. Springtime in a bottle. It feels like a magical nectar. The opening is sweet and citric, the florals accompany the development, and the drydown closes with a perfect and long-lasting blend. The DNA of the JTC collection is also very present here, accompanying the semi-gourmand, floral finish.

A lovely and underrated fragrance to have in anyone’s collection. Be weary, this definitely leans feminine. For all of the macho men out there this fragrance is a hard pass. It smells like you walked into a beautiful garden with honey bees flying about and vanilla wafting through the air. The slightest bit of earthy patchouli, woods, and tobacco mix into the dry down. If you’re secure with your masculinity and want a unique, and slightly feminine fragrance this is definitely for you. A gorgeous and rich smelling fragrance that’s surprisingly versatile. Can be worn any time of the year except for blazing hot days.

Delicious moreish that turned me into an arm sniffer. Lots of honey and orange blossom and florals. Reminds me of the style of Mulger Alien and Initio Addictive Vibration, but not a clone. I didn’t think I’d like this style of fragrance, (40yo male), but so far it’s surprised me. Extrovert dressed up vibes. Classy and high quality head turner. I cannot believe the scent bubble from one spray. Really filled the room. Dry down I got vanilla / cedar with lasting florals. After wearing it a few times, I get the tobacco blossom idea. It balances the sweetness of the honey without going too far.

I love this so much! The honey blends seamlessly with the floral notes! I confused this with 40 Knots at first and I definitely wasn’t interested in that scent profile lol but then I realized it was called 400 and got a decant along with several other Xerjoffs. They’re my fav house and I have not smelled a dud yet. Maybe that means I’m not as refined and have no taste or my nose is broken but I’m perfectly happy with that bc I’d rather love a perfume than have to trash it and write a bad review here! This leans feminine for me but a man could pull it off. FB worthy!

This is such a wonderful scent, it is such a summery scent. Its sweet, fruity and citrusy all balanced perfectly without fighting for attention. I really wonder how it's gonna smell during summer, can't wait ! To my nose it kinda reminds me of honeysuckle while its blooming at night but more sweeter. As for the performance its amazing... lasts for days... and I can smell it on me all the time so don't overspray... or do so if you wanna turn heads all the time ! I think I do like it more than Naxos.

Has a striking similarity to naxos in it's DNA but more floral leaning, it's very strong as well a room filler with just 1-2 sprays. I prefer this scent over naxos cause it smells far more well blended and less potent to my nose, a great scent that is almost laundry scented. I can see this being a nice soothing night time scent for small or large occasions. I give it a 9.5/10 the dry down smells very good and high quality.

Wow....fresh AND floral? Sign me up! The citruses blend perfectly with the powdery florals and honey giving birth to a magical and decadent scent that can be worn on all but the absolute hottest of days! Honestly, it's probably between this and Naxos for my favorite fragrance from this house. But after this latest sample, I will be buying a full bottle from Naxos before this as it is my spouse's favorite scent.

I really wish my friend didn’t just buy this because I would have already bought it. It’s a honey and floral scent that is reminiscent of Naxos, but the stark difference is that Naxos has a heavy lavender accord while 400 doesn’t. It’s very nice and fancy, leans a little feminine but who cares it smells amazing

A truly unisex scent. I find it a little feminine and a couple of girls I had it tested find it too masculine. Performance is really good nevertheless. Avoid in hot summer days, other that that its a all rounder. Only minor flaw I find with it is that it's pretty much a special occasion wear.

I find that this is the more feminine version of Naxos. The same honeyed florals, but replace the lavender with white flowers and a touch of ylang for spiciness and the bergamot with bitter orange and you get this. They're both stunning scents for the colder seasons!

Blended to perfection, this never fails to amaze me whenever I wore it for a night out. During the day it tends to get a little on the heavier side, but for the evening it is beast mode on. Unique long lasting scent and definitely leaves an impression.

This is actually better than naxos. Naxos is synthetic smelling and the tobacco is almost undetectable. This here is the real deal as the honey is photorealistic and its nicely blended with the tobacco so you can smell both. 10/10 fragrance.

The combination of notes here makes it smell like wild strawberries to me, like in Initio Psychedelic Love. Has similarities to Naxos, but it is not redundant IMO. Quite sweet, masterfully blended, good performance. I like it a lot.

As a previous reviewer said, this is underrated. It smells like a more feminine leaning Naxos with the pronounced tobacco flower. Sillage is good but longevity is off the charts.

Gardenia honey bomb. Not very unisex

#1574 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from scentplit.com for $7.99. This is not much different from Xerjoff "Torino 23," and like that scent, also too feminine for me. But it is a scent I would like well enough on a woman. Same ballpark as Initio "Psychedelic Love" or Bond No 9 "Bond One." At $125 this isn't wildly overpriced, but you can do as well for less. The twenty-something baristas at the coffee shop I frequent gravitate to fruity florals like this. I gave one a bottle of Killer Oud "Lyre Intense", a $30 dupe of Amouage "Lyric for Women", that she really liked. I gave another the also similar Mancera "Sicily", a $70 scent, which was a hit. I gave another Mancera "Jardin Exclusif" similarly priced, and a similar scent to this that she liked a lot. Gave a 4th Maison Alhambra "Anarch", which is much like this, but adds some coconut, which she prefers in her summer scents, for around $17. I applied this when I woke up. This opened with better than arm's length silage. Still a strong fruity/floral skin scent at noon. Not likely to offend unless over-sprayed. But this one's just for the ladies I think.

Really like this one, but not really my vibe. Honey, floral, vanilla. It’s kind of like a mixture of ivory route and Naxos but with a lot of florals. There’s definitely a heavy “perfumey” vibe to it. Not cloying necessarily, but like a really heavy haze. May be the Ylang or maybe there’s ambroxan in here, but definitely something in it that gets mildly annoying. The dry down however, is much softer and the vanilla comes a bit more to the front. Would say that it’s not safe for blind buy, but a really beautiful perfume none the less. I can’t wear it indoors, but outside in fresh air, it’s lovely. Very floral, so if you’re expecting another Naxos, as many people have compared them, I imagine you would be disappointed. It’s very different- just a few similarities. There’s no brightness here. The citrus is never free of the syrupy honey note. So it weighs pretty heavy. For people that are sensitive to perfume this would definitely be headache inducing if you were in a closed space. Overall, I’m happy I purchased it, but I will wear with caution.

This smells like Halloween Smarties candies, the different colored ones that come rolled up in stacks, with a background of rich crystallized-sugar honey. There's also a stale, chemical smell in there. Not sure if that's the white tobacco or citrus that has gone bad. I got my sample over a year ago directly from Xerjoff. Maybe it didn't age well. The orange blossom in this is pungent and cotton-candy like. It reminds me of Parfums de Marly's Oriana. I don't see this appealing to any guy as it's a heavy floral. Smell: 7 out of 10 Longevity: 8 out of 10 Feminine For reference, I'm female.

To me, this smells like a beautiful, honeyed white floral scent. The opening of this scent is very citrus and honey heavy. The honey is thick and enveloping. After, I started to smell the ylang-ylang and a white floral note that smells like they’ve been drenched in honey. I really didn’t know what to expect from this scent and after I’ve sampled it, I still don’t know if I’d buy a full bottle. Also, I don’t really find any resemblances to Naxos. The honey in this scent isn’t very boozy like the one in Naxos

I am wearing this today for the first time. To my nose, the most prominent notes are honey, orange blossom, vanilla, light wood, and very light tobacco. It is a sweet and extremely well executed, creamy, honey fragrance with a deeper base and light citrus, that stops it from being too heavy and keeps it smooth and airy. I would say it's feminine but a man could wear it too. It is mouthwatering and as it dries down it blends even more and becomes quite addictive 💙💛

A pleasant powdery vanilla centered Oriental chypre. The scent opens with a citrus and honey note. The heart is firmly floral with notes of rose, tobacco and orange flower and ylang. The perfume settles pretty quickly into its powdery vanilla base surrounded by vetiver, patchouli and cedar. Slight feminine leaning perfume that has a nice happy vibe to it, although not hugely innovative. Enormous projection and sillage, go easy on the spray button. Enjoy!

Really pleasant scent. I thought this could totally go as an office scent. I don't work in an office, so IDGAF it can be worn anywhere. It's citrus, but not sweet. I get the floral, but this has something green in it and not patchouli. This reminds me of some kind of lotion my mom used to wear. 8/10

Heavy floral-honey-citrusy scent. It's divine! Xerjoff JTC has rather distinctive base that is something spicy and sweet and warming. It's somewhat familiar, like a scented candle. A bit too much vanilla to my taste (I hate vanilla scent) but I can see this to be very popular.

If you’re into white florals.. it’s an absolutely beautiful blend; very elegant and balanced. I don’t appreciate honey in perfume, but here, it’s done amazingly soft and delicious. It’s not a super unique scent, but in its category definitely stands out; beautiful 🤍🌸🪷

Very beautiful frag, it has the honey note like naxos in the beginning but its completely different. Its projection is fucking crazy, 1 spray will fill up a whole room for hours. Really feminine scent though Scent: 10/10 Performance: 10/10

Lovely and sweet, i find this Xerjoff smelling like a really sweet fruity purple soft chewy candy. It is gentle and delicious from start to finish with just a hint of balm and incense. It's a mood lifting experience.
