Interesting Arabic oud type blend with sweetness and vanilla. Huge fecal punch at the intro (the synthetic castoreum) that settles into a deep, rich black leather accord, with vanilla sweet cream in the mid and throughout wear. The full drydown reveals cedar wood, balsams, and animal musk. It reminds me of the framework of Sarah Baker fras, from her Gold line. I actually do like it. It'll layer beautifully with any and all fall season type frags. Tobacco Vanille and this will be an insanely good combo. Babylon. Rouge Sarây as well! 🦫🪵🍦🦌 Update... OK, so this is my favorite out of the Xerjoff Universe Kemi line. It just melts into something magical on my skin. I got 3 compliments on it today; from a woman in her 50s, a young guy about 19-21 who described it as "cinnamon rolls" 😊, and a woman of about 60 said "something smells so good, like vanilla". I know I enjoy it- but the effect it has on others is a pleasant surprise, because the beginning of Kemi is so challenging. I'm likely going in on a full bottle (even though I literally just got a FB of "Iommi", gorgeous 🥰). It's that beautiful.

Be very careful with Kemi. The first 20m can be quite challenging. There is some Cherry, Vanilla and Caramel sweetness here. But also the Oud is animalic. Under no circumstances should you blind buy this, unless you are used to Bortnikoff Lao Oud or Areej Le Dore scents. This will be sweeter than those, but just as potent. After about 20m Kemi is much more pleasant. I am not sure why Caramel and Cherry are not listed here. They should be. This is an Intermediate level of animalic. For those that want more than Rogue Perfumery Derviche,Chanel Antaeus, Caron Yatagan , Andy Tauer Sundowner,Papillon Salome or Zoologist Moth. This is the next level after those. I love this scent. It is polarizing at first. Certainly unique. For $135 /50ml it is a good buy. If you do not like the sweetness then try Aaron Terence Hughes Tabac or Bortnikoff Tabac Dore/Lao Oud. Or really anything by Areej Le Dore. YOu can also try Beaufort London Iron Duke as well. After about one hour it is quite nice. A woman smelled my arm and she said it smells sweet.

I have wanted to buy this perfume for a long time, but hesitated due to the high price and 100ml volume (previous bottle) The new Xerjoff version is an extrait compared to the EdP (Kemi Blending magic version) but it is essentially the same perfume. The small differences I can detect is a slightly less skanky opening and also slightly more sweet and rounded, compared to the previous version, but I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference if not side-by-side. There is skank, bit not as prominent perhaps. Longevity is amazing, a solid 24 hrs, I could still smell it on my arm the next day. I did smell my arm many times during the day, with a happy smile on my face every time :) The projection is very reasonable, not loud but definately present. Will not offend anyone (I think, love Oud so I’m biased) I really love this perfume and I’m so glad to finally have this beautiful scent and bottle in my collection.

Kind of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, distilled in a bottle. Kemi's animalic opening is a statement. Is it challenging?. Yes, although I've tested more challenging scents. Does it smell like refuse?. No. Once the opening begins to take a back seat (roughly 30 minutes after application), you will experience the perfume's spicy, woody and resinous drydown. The Gurjan Balsam and Vanilla accords give it a sweet (but not cloying) touch. The animalic notes never go away completely during the drydown. They support and boost the rest of the composition, giving it extra oomph. Great longevity and moderate to strong projection, which is fine for this tipe of perfume. Kemi is not for everyone, so I advise to test it on a paper strip, and to take said strip home, so you will get an idea of how this fragrance evolves.

Kemi is a warm, sweet and delicate fragrance with intriguing trail and a personality of it's own. It has a hint of oud that makes Kemi not only spicy and deliciously gourmand but also slightly animalic. It's an elegant and unusual fragrance which can't be called 'dirty' in any way. Those who state this just don't have enough experience in oud-inspired fragrances. I like it very much, the scent and the presentation, except longevity. Kemi sits close enough to the skin and disappears just in few hours, needing reapplication. I hoped it was more long pasting. Anyway when you put it on the sillage is mysterious and very unusual. I have both versions, from Kemi and Xerjoff, the latter one is simpler, less gourmand and more woody.

I get why people say this smells like shit. Not because this actually smells like shit, but because when I was initially dabbling in Oud perfumes i thought the same thing. But as i smelt them more my nose adapted and I grew to appreciate them. This truly smells like a semi gourmand oud perfume. There is an initial cherry smell that I truly enjoy, it slowly drifts away into a soft oudy animalic smell. Its almost as if you were able to wrap oud in a warm animal blanket. Its not offensive and its almost welcoming, it does not repel in reels people in.

This might be my current favorite oud fragrance. On first spray, I can best explain it as very sharp. Strong cherry and animalic oud. Not great. But after 30 minutes it dries down to a beautiful cherry rose oud with a hint of animalic undertones. Beautiful. Women love this. I, surprisingly, get many compliments with this. There is a reason why animalic notes have been added to men's fragrances for years. Because they work. And at discounters you can get this for a little over $100. Crazy. For a fragrance that has real Laotian oud. A great buy.

Might be my favorite Oud up to this point... the opening is very in your face and Oud-y but that drydown is so gorgeous, it’s vaguely chocolatey but it smells dark skanky and sweet much darker than I think any chocolate could be, black chocolate. Idk why people complain a Lao Oud is too harsh like wtf you expect this is like the endgame of perfume 😂

I'd all but used up my Kemi Blending Magic version of this and took a risk by buying the Xerjoff version. Well, it's 100% identical to my nose, I'm smelling them side by side. Bravo Xerjoff for preserving this stinky, beautiful, spicy cola bomb.

I have over 30 Xerjoffs, Right now, it is a toss up between this one and Alexandria II Anniversary.. I just love this

Kemi is very interesting in its evolution as it dries down. It opens with a fresh blast of cherry which last less than a minute and is supplanted by barnyard oud. As the manure pile gets smaller, a medicinal, cough syrup scent appeared. During this phase, I got occasional whiffs of caramel. As the dry down progressed, the medicinal aspect retreated and the scent became a very smooth and creamy combination of sweetness, vanilla + caramel and woody oud. The smell in the air was especially attractive. Nose to skin, revealed a remnant of the oud barnyard, although very subtle (nothing to worry about). Kemi also has a nicely complementing animalic accord. Performance is beast mode. I'm currently at 11 hours and it's still going strong. Projection was very strong for the first few hours. Kemi should be applied at least 30 to 45 minutes before meeting people to enable it to settle and get past the challenging phase. I'm very impressed with Kemi and have added it to my shopping list. This is the first fume from the K Collection that I really like and feel is FB worthy.

It first opens with a very strong animalic smell, almost fecal. Then it settles down into something beautiful.

I get the brownie mix comparison. After the initial opening this settles into a chocolaty oud with vanilla, so it comes across very gourmand. The Loatian Oud is a prominent player, so this reminds of Bortnikoff's Lao Oud. In both the oud takes on a chocolate note. Overall, I'm not highly impressed, just kinda meh. Regarding the reviews that state this smells fecal, understand that the reviewers are obviously not familiar with oud perfumes that actually contain real oud oil. In the first ten minutes all of the highly volatile sour notes of the oud evaporate. This perfume needs to be appreciated with a little distance and a little time.

Acho uma bobagem esse papo que é um Oud fecal. É simplesmente um oud mais desafiador. Sinto mais as notas de baunilha/caramelada e o sândalo esfumaçado que até mesmo o próprio Oud. Nem se compara a intensidade de um oud de Ilm ou de Zafar. Um perfume gourmand, adocicado. Se você busca uma baunilinha docinha com o oud, amadeiradinho Kemi é o caminho. Sinceramente não achei tão especial como muitos falam. Outros da Xerjoff me encantam muito mais. Kemi para mim está mais próximo de um Althair da Parfums de Marly a outros perfumes de oud mais intrigantes como Zafar e Ilm. Sinto ares do pasto, o organico, mas falar que cheira fezes é uma pobre criatividade limitada de simplesmente não saber discernir um oud de dejetos humanos.

Not Stercus from Parisi, but THIS one smells like shit. It is my worst Xerjoff. Terrible. Smells like old shitty diper (and I have 6 Kids, I lnow what I’m talking about). I’ll have to use more times to learn how to appreciate this essence, but now.... just discusting.

Oud animalique, civette et castoreum bien présent et puissant au départ. Par contre la tenue et les performances sont tres décevante... Un parfum moyen

This is my first review, but I truly feel that I need to protect people. We often read that something “smells like shit” as a way for someone to express that, in their opinion, it smells bad. In the case of this product — which is wrongly called a perfume — it literally smells like real shit. More precisely, like stepping in shit and having it stuck on your shoe, while everyone looks under the sole trying to figure out who stepped in it. I genuinely wonder how something like this was released to the market. It is only suitable for pranks, like stink bombs!!!

Odd mixture of loads of vanilla with a synthetic note plus some dirtiness. Smells like brownie mix from the grocery store mixed with a little paint thinner plus a little bit of dirt. Also not really animalic. I don't smell any of those notes from this. Just smells dirty and unpleasant.

Hate this perfume. Smells like literal shit, I mean fecal matter. Why would anyone want to smell like this????
