More Than Words

This is my 2nd purchase from the brand of Xerjoff I've got this fragrance as a gift on Saint Nicholas Day, the 50ml bottle. I remember I tested it in a duty free along with other 5 or 6 niche fragrances and this one for me shined the most. The price was absolutely fantastic so in the end it was a well thought gift to get. More Than Words definitely smells like the Xerjoff "thing". Unique yet appealing. This is ambery, dark, oriental, modern, smooth, oud, woody, in your face. It has a slight aquatic blue nuance in the first 30 mins of experiencing this fragrance. After around 1h everything changes, the oud is more apparent, the rose and the fruit notes start to dry out and eliberating a dark allure onto the skin. It has a very round geometry of notes and scents around. At the performance part, this one is definitely a king. 12-14hrs longevity with loud projection, making it a very bold and announcing fragrance. Note: it's a love-hate fragrance due to its beast mode intoxicating aspect About versatility this is a little tricky to pull off in some situations, but if you use the right amount of sprays (3, max 4) I do think this can be suitable as a daily or signature scent due to its uniqueness. You will stand out in a crowded or clubbing environment. I don't consider this as a formal occasions fragrance though The packaging is absolutely beautiful and high quality, clicking cap and amazing atomizer. Oh something I forgot to mention. When I first smelled this fragrance it reminded me a lot of LV Ombre Nomade, it has that oud-rose combo but More Than Words makes the scent more versatile and wearable. If you smell them side by side you would consider the fact that Ombre Nomade smells more leathery and old-mature-formal and the fragrance I'm reviewing is his kid In my opinion this fragrance is a mix between MFK Oud Satin Mood & LV Ombre Nomade and other Xerjoffs combined. It has the softness and smoothness from oud satin mood and the darkness from ombre nomade, to my nose obv I do feel it's one of their most underrated work. This is a beast mode oriental amber oud-rose smooth stand-out fragrance. 9.5/10

I’m currently in a love affair with this one. Every stage of MTW is beautiful. I’d consider this to be a unisex fragrance. Although, some would probably say it leans more towards the masculine side. A woman could probably pull it off easily. In fact, sometimes a slightly masculine scent ends up smelling amazing on a woman. You get the fruits and oud with a bit of floral notes in the opening. It almost smells like a rose oud combo, but the fruit adds more character and makes it unique from other typical Rose/Oud combos. Then when the amber kicks in it adds a sensual and inviting warmth to the fragrance. I’m trying to tell you, every stage is distinct and different from the next. It’s breathtaking, in my opinion. The experience continues to wow me far into the deep dry down as well. That’s when the labdanum and olibanum start making their presence known. I love the beautiful smokiness from a good labdanum note. That mixed with the olibanum make a heavenly aroma that’s to die for. The smokiness in the deep dry down reminds me of the smokiness from LV Ombré Nomade. Except smokiness is more nuanced and not as pronounced. But it’s definitely there adding additional warmth and character to the amber and slight fruity notes that are still swirling around in my scent bubble. If you have more of a developed nose and you want something that smells amazing, niche, and like you spent a small fortune on it, you’ll love it. It was a blind buy for me and I’m so glad I took the chance on it. Projection and longevity are what you’d expect. 3 sprays will completely fill a room. The scent never completely wears off. I’m getting over 24 hours on skin. In other words, it’ll be with you until you scrub it off in the shower. The quality is definitely something different than your average designer or popular clone fragrances. Top tier quality for sure. I think I’ll always keep an extra bottle of it in reserve, because it’s just that good to me.

Unbelievable. You’re getting many perfumes in one here. Hints of Oud Satin/silk Mood, Gris Dior, Smoking Hot, Moonlight Patchouli, Ombre Nomade and some slight whiffs of amouage interlude, still its very different from them and has its own style and scent-profile. wow. Its crazy how chris maurice did all of these dna’s in one! Such a master-work, its like buying all of these fragrances but all made in one beautifully well made perfume. mind you that all of these came after that one. so if any copying happened its by them, and thats the impressive part. ⛔️ Not identical to any of them, but you’ll definitely catch the vibes. Very mass appealing yet still unique. Masterfully crafted, perfectly blended, and the performance is top notch. Not a loud in-your-face scent more like the ( do you smell that guy who passed by? Damn. ) kind of presence. Patchouli is noticeable, oud is there but beautifully tamed nothing animalic, just smooth and elegant. Even my family members who usually can’t stand oud actually loved this. Completely unisex. Doesn’t lean either way. You get both the feminine energy and masculine edge in perfect balance. I’d love to smell this on anyone. Not to be worn everyday, it requires cold weather and made for special moments. Not specifically “occasions” just any specials moment that matters to you as less as a beautiful night out with friends/family/wife. Velvety, fruity, luxurious, and effortlessly refined. Guaranteed compliments. And respectfuly all the hate on that fragrance, are people with noses of 9 year olds. (Edit) in a certain phase of the dry down you get the oud/smoky vibes of “the moon” by fredric malle.. C.R.A.Z.Y Other perfumers may wanna start leveling up Cause chris maurice doesn’t play

I'll be very honest, I loved this perfume, definitely one of the best smelling rose oud combos out there. Perhaps it's just my personal opinion, I love collecting perfumes and I have way too many rose-oud combo scents that are heavy enough on the fruity-ambery side. Maybe it's me who's just bored of such specific kinda scents, but this one doesn't have any uniqueness factor to it. There's too many such perfumes, all high end niche stuff, that have scents in the similar category. So if you have a smaller collection and want a soft and uplifting oud, you can surely buy this as it's obviously lovely. But on a general note, if you're looking forward to go for something unique in the soft oud segment, trust me, this one does not smell that extraordinary. You'll pull a lot of compliments you'll get a lot of girls by wearing this, but just as a personal opinion i feel like this is not unique at all. Performance is lovely though, again saying this, try a few more scents of such type and only then decide which one you wanna go for, cuz once you get into too many rose-oud combos all this will simply become boring.

Xerjoff Join The Club More Than Words I blinded this because it was at a really good deal. Read up quite a bit on it and decided it's safe to blind without getting a decant as it shares similarities with LV Ombre Nomade. I haven't nosed Armani Privé Rose d'Arabie so I can't comment on their similarities. With them being dominant rose and oud scents, both are rather different, especially in the opening and top notes. More than Words opens with a sweet honey like dried fruits and amber with a detectable light oud. Ombre Nomade opens smokey incensey and leathery. However when it comes to the later scent development, the middle and base notes, they are somewhat similar for rose and oud notes. More than Words comes across as more versatile and fresher sweeter oud. Perhaps folks of sweeter fruity rose oud or fruity leather fans in the ballpark of TFTV or TFTL or even PdM Godolphin will like More than words. Whereas Ombre Nomade is darker, deeper smoky incensy leather rose oud. Unless you cannot handle rose oud, I'll say this is pretty wearable and will get it's fair share of compliments.

Wow!!! The JTC collection has just stepped it up a notch, what a fragrance this is!!!! Gorgeous! Stunning!!! Wonderful!!! The opening is one of dried fruit, a creamy patchouli and Labdanum, the rose steadily grows after that, all the while my senses tingling with excitement...because I know what this fragrance is delivering. Rose/Oud combo of the highest quality with a dimension of patchouli, the sharpness of labdanum and I detect a bit of frankincense and myrrh. Have I smelled anything like this before? Of course I have... But it's a winning formula. Something about the opening of this fragrance sets it apart a little bit from the likes of Armani Rose d'Arabie (which is incredible too) to which it is very similar. I think the rose in this is strong yet quite subdued it's as much about oud and resin for me. Xerjoff have created a truly brilliant (if not very original)thing here and about time too because after trying a fair few of their fragrances now I'm still on the fence about them as a house.

#1112 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Beast alert! The Olibanum is strong with this one. I don't know that I have ever encountered such a Frankenstein level of Frankincense before. This projects all morning and lasts all day. One spritz only guys and gals. Do not wear this in tight spaces. Anyone in those tight spaces with you will not appreciate this as it can be overwhelming. I'd save this for outdoor dining and cocktails. Definitely would not wear this in the office. Certainly not in a car pool or on the plane, unless you're on a plane to Dubai where this super-oriental would blend in. I'd apply at least an hour before meeting a date. Those caveats aside, the aroma of this scent impresses everyone who smells it. Like every Xerjoff it's not cheap, but if any fragrance house is worth the money it's Xerjoff. I've test driven 20 of their scents and loved 16/20, including this one.

It is interesting that many reviewers have noted this as feminine. It definitely opens with a strong floral scent but on my skin that dies out pretty quickly to be replaced by a concord of fruits, specifically dried fruits that I associate with pineapple and apricot. I did get a reaction from a lunch guest and it was negative so there is something that some people smell, an astringency, that I don't pick up. I will note that she was the only one that I came in contact with that smelled it that picked up that note. The dry down is much more masculine and you get there in a relatively short amount of time. I also place this more in the daytime because of the fruit than many of the reviewers. It lasted on my clothing for well over twelve hours and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is a beautifully crafted fragrance that really stands out. Right from the start, I pick up a smooth blend of roses, fruits, and soft woods that come together in a very elegant way. The rose is definitely the star here, but it’s done so well that it never feels overwhelming or old-fashioned. As a 45-year-old male, I don’t typically gravitate toward rose-heavy fragrances, but this one completely changed my perspective. It leans slightly feminine to my nose, yet it’s balanced enough that I truly believe anyone can wear it with confidence. Overall, this is a refined, unisex scent that feels thoughtfully composed and incredibly wearable. I would sample this on skin and allow a full dry down, if you do not enjoy rose and Oud this is not going to be your cup of tea

This is a rose fragrance, very realistic and sweet. It does open slightly fecal upon first spray but it disappears within the first minute, most noticeable when you put your nose straight up to the fragrance, don't be like me. Has a slight similarity to Noir De Noir if they used the Rose Prick profile with the Oud and Saffron. As it dries down the labdanum begins to gently appear and it begins to smell more like s gentle version of Portrait of a Lady. It's refined and sexy leaving a soft, yet alluring sillage. Rose lovers, you need to try this if you haven't yet. I don't find it fruity and the people saying there is an olive smell.....huh??? As with all perfumes, moisturise your skin before applying fragrance or spray on clothes, depending on fabric and colour.

Masterpiece.. Smells like boozy plum with some clean rounded saffron and oud, tiny bit animalic but still clean and juicy. Then it starts to smell more like sweets and less like cognac plum, the smell is vibrant and bright but sweet and dense with very slight incense in the background. There’s a funk to it it’s slight to me, but sometimes I perceive it more than others. I love it tho and its rounded off perfectly by the saffron rose and ambergris, they clean it up and all together the smell is beautiful and is miles above Oud Pashmina by Montale, they smell quite similar but this has a beautiful bright shine that pashmina does not. To me the smell sparkles and is vibrant I think can be worn all year tbh but with some caution in summer if you care haha.

I am somewhat 50/50 on this fragrance. The good: The scent itself is absolutely wonderful...i cant even explain it. Its sort of fruity, woody, rosy....hard to describe. Definitely unique and pleasant. The longevity on this is superb. The bad: This fragrance can be overpowering. Definitely a "beast". I can see this being offensive to some people. Even today I wore this going out with a friend and he couldnt handle it and asked me to never wear it again. I find that its overpoweing to the person wearing it too. It is so strong that it becomes almost exhausting to breathe. I find myself washing it off half way through the day. ....oh, and this is with only ONE SPRAY. It really is a BEAST to the max. This is why I wear it so rarely.

Anything like ombre nomade. This Is perfect. The oud is a Little powdery, like the ashtray of the incense but also sweet and resinous with the fruit and olibanum notes. The floral gives a vintage-oldish vibes, like violet and rose in oud satin Mood. It has a sweet, warm and semi-fresh fruity note that remembers me of Red tobacco. Complex, warm and fresh, floral and Smoky, fruity and Woody. The fecal odor of oud Is so toned down by the olibanum, its a very realistico olibanum, dont smell like church at all, burning some tight now and It reminds me of its sweetness, plastic lactonic and petrolic smell. On every aspect i rate It 10/10 Sillage Longevity Versatility 8/10 honestly now that i think about it Love It and blind buyed

This is as far away that a fragrance can get from a mass appealing designer fragrance, yet being gorgeous. So I’d reserve this to experienced noses that appreciate quality over appeal. It has such depth and the rose oud is just perfect and it stays there as long as the fragrance is detectable. Which is a very long time. It is definitely not linear on my skin, hard to describe as it keeps changing on the side of that rose oud core. It opens kind of ambery in an aggressive way and then calms down a bit but stays projecting moderate to strong for a very long time sending the oud-rosy and sweet whiffs. Never ever blind buy this.

I got a sample of this and at first I wasn't sure if I liked it. I kept wanting to smell it and wear it and eventually I got a full 100ml. The sample came from Xerjoff directly and the bottle came from fragrancebuy ca. I wore it today. I have other oud rose fragrances and this has something sweet and tart. I think my other review said it smelled like a drunk person breathed on me, but it has really grown on me. Dries down fresh, tart, sweet, floral. The oud is subtle. Generally adding oud makes a fragrance more masculine imo. Will be wearing this regularly.

I loathe oud, no it's not just "you need a sophisticated nose, oud is an acquired taste" that's bs... anyways this is fantastic! Oud done right, I love florals and fruity notes, spicy ones not too much. But this scent takes everything and makes it work, not sure how, but maybe like a poet making the worst love confession in the 1700's Hungary, a mess that ends up working, dark, sophisticated yet made by a nearly homeless intellect. Side note, I have Lattafa Maahir, it's OK, and no Maahir is not a dupe of MTW, they're universes apart.

Juicy, jammy, fruity, sweet, sharp, warm, ambery and so on. Definitely has that familiar and jammy rose + oud smell, but heavier on the fruity and sweet side rather than dark oud. Opening is sharp, but the scent smooths out as it transitions into that ambery dry down. The jammy rose still is prevalent throughout the scent's life. Used to smell like rosé champagne and blueberry muffins to me before I understood what rose + oud smells like 😭 PSA: this stuff is so damn strong, anyone saying it's not is 100% going anosmic or nose blind.

This beauty starts with a strong borderline animalic opening, a few seconds after that goes directly to the oud rose combo which is absolutely gorgeous, there’s a slight fruitiness in the background along with some florals. This is an extremely classy, room filling fragrance that , to me , leans very much on the masculine side. Fbw for me. Edit: I absolutely love this masterpiece is my new number one Xerjoff winter fragrance,I like it slightly better than Tony Iommy ,it get me so many compliments every time I wear it.

Oud Rose with Fruits. It's like the fuzzy bottle line was hit by Bodacia the Victorious Ardent. Thake that and throw in some old dried beer. Definately some barley, hops and fruits for the sugars. This will get you a free search of your vehicle and some pressure of how many have you had to drink tonight. People with good clubbing memories will probably love this. Make sure you stay in your lane and use your turn signal if you decide to wear this.

insanely beautiful ! a thick juicy sweet and tart floral fruity (apple jam like to me) feel with some dry woody a bit leathery smoky oud accord and some feral musks. there is some sot of incense like feel that pairs beautifully with the fruits, florals and woods. the oud accord reminds me of ombre nomade, but its toned down alot here and sweet fruity floral notes are at the forefront. one of the best rose oud "accords" out there imo.

This perfume has become my signature scent, and I consistently receive compliments when I’ve been wearing it. The longevity is exceptional, lingering on my skin for an entire day, and its sillage is impressive. I find myself reaching for it in all seasons, making it my favorite fragrance that stands the test of time. Notes are sweet, a bit floral, and has a touch of oud. The fragrance strikes a perfect balance. 11 out of 10!

Nose Note #1030 I don't know if I'm dissapointed or not. I love the Ombre Nomade adjacent DNAs and this is just one of them... A lot like much much MUCH cheaper Lattafa Oud Mood and Opulent Oud... Go figure... Still a great scent, but considering the embarassing similarity to the UAE dupe brand in quality and scent and the steep price of Xerjoff I guess I'm a bit upset. 8.5/10, it still deserves all the praise

This has got to be the best crafted fragrance in my books. The first spray does smell a bit like olives, but as it settles over the following hour, it turns into a beautiful sweet oud and lasts more than 48 hours on my skin. It really is one of those scents you have to stop and admire for a second when you walk past it. Considering the quality I would not say this one is overpriced.

I cant see why people is talking this down, its so beatiful yet so massappealing. It projects heavely on me and it pulls in alot of compliments every time I wear it, everyone I asked for opinions told me this is gooood(!) and I am yet to meet someone who dislike this scent. I do think this really needs a 2nd chance for many people though since this has grown on me alot.

This is one of my favorite fragrances. The fruity oud floral notes are very well balanced. This is one of the fragrances that I thoroughly enjoy enough just to wear around the house but have predominantly worn to formal occasions. I cannot help but smile when wearing this...a truly "feel good" fragrance. As an added bonus, I've also found it to be a compliment magnet.

A fantastic fragrance. Now, i hate the opening of this one for the first 5-10 minutes, it`s the rose it is so strong and cloying until it settles down a bit, and then you get the full fragrance experience. One of the easiest oud fragrances you guys can wear, 4 sprays and it will last you 10+ hours. MUST try, i love this one and Alexandria 2, give both a try.

Great fragrance that performs best under 20C. Ideal for cooler weather and ideally evenings. Fails to deliver during warmer days / outdoors. Floral-Oud-Ambergris mix with the classy Xerjoff blending and slight powderiness in the base. Above average longevity. Unisex and for those who prefer a stronger Oud and less sweet fragrances. The kind of scent where, as you walk through the room, people catch the trail of your scent and look to see where it's coming from...a real show stopper. Sexy, spicy and seductive mix of berries, rose, oud and patchouli ( that's what I smell)..Really nice performance. Definitely unisex. A nighttime date night scent. Not for the shy... 8/10

This is a very close copy of wisal by ajmal. Which is an older scent. very smooth and very popular is Arabic region. So popular that there is few flankers of wisal. I am amazed only 1 person pointed it in the reviews. This smell was my first obsession of perfumes. Although it used to be advertised as Female scent its a unisex smell

I can see how people may not like this at the opening, but the dry down is phenomenal. Personally, I like the opening and the scent profile as a whole. It is a true unisex fragrance, and I think would smell great on anyone. Just for shits and giggles, I layered this with Renaissance and it actually smelled amazing lol.

I lowkey prefer this to Ombre Nomade. That little extra floral notes and the slight candied fruit like smell just nails it for me. Oh and the spices just make the composition complete, smooth and welcoming. Not mass appealing i get it. I had mixed reactions with it. But i wear perfume for myself not for others😇

Exceptional. Instant favorite in my collection. One of my top from Xerjoff out of the 13 I currently have. As always, presentation and bottle are superb. Elegant rose/oud combo. Great performance. If you want loud, use Ombre Nomad. If you want class, go with this. As I crest #400, I am still loving this hobby.

More Than Words is truly a masterpiece! It's warm, inviting, and has this incredible depth that unfolds slowly. The amber and oud are dominant, but there's a beautiful fruity sweetness underlying it all. It's perfect for special occasions or when you want to feel sophisticated and confident.

a 10/10 fragrance for me. Fantastic oud, amber, incense scent. Not even the opening was bad to me (as some mention below). I have tried a few Xerjoff sample sets and this is easily in my top 5 if not top 3. If you like the darker, 'oud'y, amber fragrances you will LOVE this one.

This is a beautiful fragrance with a completely feel-good undertone. It's hard to describe but there's something about the notes, particularly the dominant yet subtle rose, that is upbeat. It's beast-mode territory yet not loud or intrusive. Gorgeous.

Blind buy this fragrance since I got a very good deal for it, and it was truly a big win for me. The smell is incredible, and I got a lot of compliment for it. The longevity and projection is also monster. Easily 10-12 hour and room filler.

I decided to take all of Chris MAURICE's arms (Xerjoff) A scent that gives a sense of richness. Nobility, so to speak. A scent with a weight that draws attention in the environment. I became famous in the apartment thanks to it.

Lovely jammy rose and a delightful woody oud. Cannot stop sniffing my wrist with this one. It reminds me of New York Oud by Bond No. 9. Fantastic. Scent 8/10 Longevity 10/10 Sillage 9/10 Projection 10/10 Overall scent 9/10

The most complimented perfume I have in my collection, it's great on the winter time, wear it at day or night doesn't matter, just be careful, it's depends on the skin type too, and can be harsh, but still 10/10

This is a Beast! I repeat, this is a Beast and not for juveniles but for a man who’s got his shit together. This is a wealthy man’s smell! This is More than words to describe this beautiful craftsmanship!

Smell is intoxicating. For me this leans feminine and sexy. Has notes of fermented fruits and florals. Makes me think of dessert wine. Perfect scent for date night paired with black mini dress.

I see alot of hate towards 'More than words' by Xerjoff yet its an masterpiece of a fragrance much better than Ombre Nomade IMO but of course it has to grown on you, so be patient with it.

This perfume lasts forever. Even after washing my clothes, they still have left this smell on. Mostly my problem with perfumes are longevity and sillage and both parameters are in top.

The projection and longevity is enormous. Fill the room so well and last on my skin for more than 7 hours. Love this rose+oud scent. However, this cannot beat Oud Satin Mood

I am a big fan. It is a nice fruity oud fragrance. The performance is nuclear. Two shots on either side of my neck and it is with me from 8am to 12am. Love it.

One of the best I ever smelled in my entire life!! It worth to tell u I own more than 500 niche and designer perfumes. It is a heaven smell breathtaking.

Here's how it went. Wearing for the first time at work: 3 compliments. Is that good! Edit; The next day another compliment and asked what I'm wearing.
