Muse

I just received my 15ml bottle of “Muse” and OMG I LOVE IT! Immediately off the rip I can smell plum, jasmine, and patchouli. This is a unisex scent, but it leans more feminine for sure. There is something about that plum patchouli that makes me immediately think of Lush. Lush stores. Lush’s Plum rain. There are quite a few similarities, but muse is much more refined. This is NOT a fragrance for everyone by no means. The leather note is hardly noticeable, but the jasmine is very hefty in this one. I smell plum, jasmine and patchouli the most, and they smell absolutely Devine together. The dry down I get more amber and Labdanum, but man is this sexy! I’m 34, and this is right down my alley with the scent profile. The name muse is actually a very good name for this type of fragrance. I have no idea why it’s not talked about much. This is actually my very first Xerjoff fragrance, and I’m impressed! This really does have a hippie/gothic edge to it that I can’t really describe. It comes off very witchy, and I adore that aspect. It’s intriguing. It’s interesting, yet it’s not juvenile at all. The jasmine and white flowers can come off a bit mature for the younger crowd, but for a woman like me in her early 30’s it is perfect! I just keep smelling my arm and this juice is sooo magnificent! Easily in my top 10 that fast! If you don’t like patchouli and white florals, you will not like this at all. If you enjoy patchouli, plum, and white florals, I would give this one a go. Wow. I’m seriously in love. One of my all time favorites is PDM “Athalia” and MFK “Oud satin mood” while those two fragrances are quite different, if you enjoy those fragrances, then I would say get your nose on this. Maybe my nose isn’t refined enough to say this stinks, but man this doesn’t stink at all! While I will say this is a bit unisex, this still leans feminine enough for me to say I would rather smell this on a female than a male. I couldn’t imagine my husband wearing this at all lol. Just catching whiffs of this as I walk by, and it’s soo tantalizing. Muse is a perfect fit for a juice like this!!!

Xerjoff Muse is a beautifully composed fragrance that feels both luxurious and addictive. If you already love the fig and spice of Ouverture, you’ll immediately recognize a similar DNA here—but Muse takes that structure and turns it into something more juicy and expressive. You get this rich, jammy plum that feels sophisticated rather than overly sweet. It almost leans figgy in a way but flirty fig. There’s also a clear connection to La Capitale, in the way Muse blends fruitiness with leather, amber, and labdanum. It carries that same richness and depth. The white florals soften the composition while adding just enough edge to keep it interesting. Mind you I’m a lover of tuberose, so I prefer florals with an edge v powdery. The leather is also present but never overpowering, just blended in perfectly to give depth without stealing the show. It’s also giving a suede vibe. What really stands out is the spice. The mix of benzoin and amber creates this glowing, resinous base, while the labdanum adds an extra layer of richness that gives the scent its character. It’s warm, smooth, and incredibly well done. Like Ouverture and La Capitale, this is a fragrance that shifts with the seasons. I wear both of those in the summer, and Muse behaves in a similar way...it transforms in the heat. On skin, it mixes with your natural oils and opens up into something more exotic, almost tropical. In colder weather, it leans deeper, smoother, and more sensual. Muse really sits right between the two, it carries the spice and structure of Ouverture, while echoing the fruity, leathery, amber-labdanum richness of La Capitale, yet still manages to feel completely its own.

O.m.g. Mother of god this is stunning!! The most yummy, juicy, sweet and balsamic plum scent ever. Addictive and sexy as hell. This sexy vibe is evoked by the patchuli and leather note that add just that touch of elegance or darkness or animalic slightly formal vibe. Sexy, juicy, yummy beast... For those scared of leather like myself, worry not. This is so well blended, xerjoff quality front and center. Raspberry, benzoin and patchuli leather as supporting cast of plum as the star of the show. At first i got a perfumey dressy vibe. Elegant but playful...and again sexy as the main vibe. Then sweet, juicy and balsamic, like a plum jam or wine... bit pungent... almost gourmandy? Night out, sexy lounge or restaurant... fall day/evening, maybe summer night. Winter day? Night too. Not a spring or summer day. Plum or fuschia lipstick, leather jacket, high black patent leather heels... lived in black liner... i dunno. Smells exactly like the bottle! This is what made me get addicted to xerjoff for sure. Fave night out perfume. This is not simple. Its complex, It is unique, different, and yes... a bit strange in all the right ways.. And no, decadence doesn’t come close to this epic hidden gem. LOVE, 10/10

This is plum with oud. Not sure why, because oud is not listed here. Reminds me a bit with oud satin mood from MFK, except osm is oud with rose and vanilla. I bought this on summer, I didn't like it because it was too strong and not what I expected. I expected a cheerful sweet plum, like MJ Decadence, but it is not. Now it's fall, the weather is getting colder, I wear it again and really like it. It's fruity, but not colorful bright fresh fruits. It is sweet but not so sweet. This is dark fruit, plum with some oud-like smell in the background. It smells dark and very cozy. Perfect to be worn in cold season, next to fireplace. Unisex, leans a bit on feminine side because of the plum. I'm glad I don't smell the leather. One spray is strong enough, longevity is 8++ hours.

Strong similarity to Dior Poison, but much better in my opinion. Plum seems to be one of my favourite notes in perfumes. This is jammy, sweet and thick, like a ripe plum dipped in amber honey and blown with a dust of oriental spices. It’s stunning, luxurious and has a slightly vintage vibe. Fortunately for me I don’t get any leather note - I like that on men, but not on me. Lasting power is incredible, I can still smell it after taking a long shower. This is a winner for me.

I Love the scent! The opening is very sweet to me, in fact, overly sweet. I sprayed it on skin to smell before writing the review, and I keep getting blasts of sweetness from my arm while typing on my keyboard. But as it dries down the sweetness doesn't irritate me anymore. What makes this interesting to me is that when it has almost completely evaporated off my skin, the little scent left on my clothes reminds me of a hotel room, which I love btw.

Very very oily plum and raspberry jam spread across a thatch of aged leather. Despite that, there's a velvety aspect to it all, as if you're being smothered by something soft despite the absolute strength of the fragrance. I'd wear this in autumn and winter, this is entirely too strong for warm/hot weather. Projection is insane; my little sample spray is beaming up quite loudly from the crook of my elbow. I'd consider a full bottle for this.

Rich thick heady plum and raspberry wine. Muse blends in with fall perfectly. Bitter davana and patchouli give this perfume more depth and make it really opulent. There is a hint of vanilla in its amber chord. Harmonious for cold and wet days, this scent has really long-lasting longevity and dense but extremely pleasant sillage. It lasts for more than 10 hours on the skin. My ideal autumn in the bottle.

In my experience Muse is a beast mode performer and is definitely a head turning fragrance, I only wear Muse when I want to be the centre of attention. To my nose Muse smells like a mix of Alien by Mugler and Diors original Poison with a bit of leather to add that extra sexy and elevation. She's dominant but soft, she's also warm and attractive but she can also set clear boundaries, she's a Muse.

This is a gem! The opening is sticky sweet fruity syrup, then in 45 min to an hour it turns into something like Kilian dna(Good girl gone bad or smth), next stage is a clone of Kilian Woman in Gold( I love this citrusy vanilla). And about 4 hours later I have Sedbury from PDM. This last stage is the most unique, it feels like something tropical and plastic. WOW, that's a journey! 👏 👏 👏 Xerjoff!!

I wear this one in hot summer days and inspite of it’s sweetness in the begining, it’s totally perfect choice. Great jammy plum and raspberry, with a noticable white flowers and leather. Always thought about leather as a note, suitable for winter fragrances, but in Muse somehow it becomes just right for extremly sunny weather. And it lasts all day!

Muse performs incredibly. I’ve never tried something like it. It takes you on a journey. It changes hour by hour. The plum is pronounced. It's very feminine, sexy and a little mature. I just turn 30 and I feel very confident wearing it.

This absolutely shines in hot weather! Like many others I labeled this as a fall scent but brought my 15ml to Crete last summer at 35-40 degrees it was beautiful! Lush and softer but still dense. Trust me and try it 👌🏽

I looove her. Wish it lasted a teensy bit more on me but my skin eats fragrances. Balsamic note really comes out so if you aren’t a fan of that I’d stay away. Love love love would purchase a full bottle

I tried it once and I got to say this; just wow..

I was hoping for some real plums, sweet and juicy, but instead it is like plum flawor for candies or so. Reminds of grape flawor actually. The leather is barely there, only to add a touch of complexity and should not bother those who are not so fond of lether in perfume. It is sweet, and with amber/benzoin /etc, also rich and strong. It projects well and for me is more suited for going out, so it can radiate the rich sweetness around you. If worn at home, it reminds of some older generation perfume, with that weird old fashioned plum scent. Also, as it wears down, it lacks complexity and leaves you with sticky sweet raspberry dominant scent, which gives sweet perfume on a hot day on slightly sweaty day vibe. I would even believe there is some musk hiding in here, not mentioned among the notes. It reminds of other Xerjoff perfumes with this quality - the strong, sweet, artificial note lingering for the longest time. That's why Xerjoff could not be my favourite house... Overall, it is impressive, confident and sweet scent for going out in the evening. It reduces to a banal syrup scent after several hours. But I know I will keep reaching for it still :)

I had high expectations of Muse after reading countless of reviews on this website, which lead me to think of this fragrance as a better alternative to the more popular Erba Pura. However, upon trying it a few different times (so as to assure myself that it was not my nose-blindness deceiving me) this was not all similar to Erba Pura in most aspects. Muse, to me, came off really floral and much less fruity than described in the accords, and in comparison much less than Erba Pura. However, that is not to say that this is horrible in any sort of aspect. I really like this fragrance and the (arguably) tasty floral bitterness that it seemed to radiate through the cap which I sprayed it on. This will remain a 'like' for me due to the fact that it betrayed my expectations, but I look forward to getting this maybe as a gift for my significant other in the future.

Fragrance definitely leans more feminine. Surprised to see people vote this for winter/fall. Seems more spring/summer leaning (day and night). The notes of Jasmine and white florals are really strong to me. It's a scent that because of its type of notes, you may assume it won't have lasting power but something in the base keeps it going!! (I think it's the hint of leather). It lasts long, probably about 6-10 hours, depending on your skin chemistry, and also projects well, but for sure not for as long as its longevity generally. I would overall describe it as a pretty scent. I could see someone who wears Dama Bianca, but wants something more fruity and floral, as opposed to gourmand, wearing this.

This perfume is absolutely beautiful! Opens with a dark velvety plum. I catch a hint of jasmine and leather in it, but it's not immediately apparent. Patchouli, benzoin, and raspberry make it smell kind of like you got into a super high-end limo with leather seats that was perfumed with something rich and fruity. It's kind of sharp and I think it demands attention. Part of this reminds me of Angel Nova, but it's a lot more refined than that, and feels kind of seductive. This is a beautiful scent, but seeing as to how my tastes tend to be a bit chaotic and juvenile, this is probably an acquired taste.

Muse isn’t creamy, nor is it sharp. Instead, it feels velvety—and also, for the first hour, somehow gelid. As though, if you sunk your teeth into it, it would be like biting into a cube of perfume-scented turkish delight. Despite its fruitiness, I like the fact that when I smell Muse, I smell perfume, not fruit. I smell something abstract, artistic, and well-balanced that I imagine dabbing on my body, not something simple and juicy like a piece of fruit to eat. It doesn't perform as well on my skin as it does on a swatch though—less elegantly sweet and more plantish, perhaps from the davana.

A very loud fruity frag with a sting. Lasts forever and projects miles away. Definitely on the feminine side of it. Super strong. It's sweet and creamy with a touch of leather that makes it cloying, a little sharp, and oh so strange. I just feel I'm bathing in a rotting plum mush. It's okay but will never be a go to frag for me. P.S I hate the bottle. So tacky.

I don’t own this but I have tried a few occasions I must say it is a very pretty scent but I don’t think I could splash out on this and feel like it wasn’t a waste of money , because it’s not something I would reach for I like how the leather and floral combine but I find it hard to find a place appropriate to wear this in my day-to-day life

I have some mixed feeling about MUSE. I adore the opening, plum, white florals, grapes, leather, punchy, and long lasting. However, the dry down was not great. I was surprised that it really turns somewhat metallic in the end and I didn't enjoy that aspect of it. This is very Unisex and works for both Men and Women.

It's a special one. Fruity but dried fruit kind of way. Very unique. Lasting power is incredible. I had this for a summer party with work that ended up with a major hangover and now I can no longer wear it, because it brings me back to how awful I felt the day after. :) don't overspray!

This one actually feels special from the first spray it’s not just another floral or sweet loop. Right away you get this rich, elegant vibe that’s classy but not boring. Imagine soft blossoms mixed with warm, creamy undertones that feel luxurious without trying too hard 🌷✨

I love plum notes in fragrances, I however find this fragrance obnoxious and very harsh. The fruit notes are sticky and jammy. This fragrance is too present and suffocating. I like the drydown, but only after 12-16+ hours of the initial spray. Regret purchasing the 100ml.

Beautiful flowers that smell like wild strawberries to me. Super opulent and radiant, definitely something I would wear for a special occasion. Also quite sweet and balsamic, so probably not for a hot day. My ig: scent.guide

Guys I have tested both, this and Marc Jacobs Decadence, to my nose they have an uncanny similarity and when I check notes they are also very similar!

Smells like ripe gooseberries and lush garden. Somehow it makes me think of Yen from the Witcher

The animalic, ripe fruit-notes are a bit too strong for me. Wonderful craftsmanship behind the perfume, but not my first choice in the morning.

I get a strong chewy, fruit scent with this one, but it's mixed in with a bit of patchouli and leather. Just enough that it makes it seem kind of a weird fragrance to me. Unfortunately it's a tad bit too masculine for my tastes with the leather and patchouli.

Unfortunately all I got from this was purple Pixy Stix. Sweet fruits, slight floral & amber touches. I'm not sure what, but something comes across really powdery off my skin. I thought I'd love this, but unfortunately it's a pass

uhmm ew? I was so excited because of all of the reviews but this is a no. To me this is not feminine at all, I get a very men's cologne vibe with the leather benzoin and patchouli. I don't get a fruity vibe at all. it stinks :(. I guess my nose is just not as developed to understand this one. It's very heavy!

I don't care for this. I do smell the currant, but something else smells very astringent to my nose, very bitter. I am not sure which note that is, possibly a synthetic overdone leather, but I actually think I am going to wash my arm.

In the opening, I get a strong jammy plum sent. About 15 minutes later the floral joins with the plum still very actively there very sweet. I get no leather scent until through the opening, and if I really tried hard an hour later I may find what could be considered a leather sent, but I think it’s there just a balance out the sweetness of the opening, but it’s minimal. The jasmine is very apparent as the plum seems to subside and I am finding that I just don’t get any amber. Which is OK because I purchased the Perfume because the opening sounded incredible and I am not disappointed last a very long time. I have had this on for over six hours and it’s still giving me the journey it is not linear in anyway. Worth every penny this is a beautiful fragrance. I understand that everybody smells different fragrances differently, but this is just my experience. P. S. It reminds me a little bit of poison by Dior doesn’t smell the same, but it’s the same genre.

I love a good rich white floral as I wear Fendi Furiosa, Poison, Rouge Antique Jasmine, Serge Lutens Tubereuse Criminelle, JOOP! Femme, among others. While Muse is certainly in this category, there is something about it I do not care for. It opens really pungent, and it is thick, sweet and heavy. I'm thinking it's the raspberry and benzoin that is throwing me off. The opening is a bit harsh, but it does mellow out and becomes rather plush and velvety. The raspberry comes across as a little artificial and cheap smelling which is too bad as this line makes some luxurious and beautiful fragrances. A reviewer compared this to Poison and I can see the similarities but again the one fruit notes ruins this for me. This a nice, rich floral and will get attention and most likely compliments for whoever wears this, but I personally this is a no go for me.

Oh I like Muse a lot! I was sleeping on this for sure, but it is so good! Wow! It has something sharp and distinct that makes this perfume unique, truly like no other. it's really hard to describe it, as it is supposed to be a fruity leather perfume, but without looking at the notes, I would not even have assumed it has leather in it. For me it is fruity in the first place but not in the juvenile and overly sweet juicy way, but in this grown-up, sexy, mysterious, alluring way. SEXY is the word that comes to mind when I smell this. It even reminds me a bit of Opera... I don't know why, because they are totally different. In general, this is super sexy and distinct; this could be a signature scent for sure, a scent to be remembered by. It feel unique!

Muse is dense, opulent, unisex but perhaps more inclined to the feminine, sweet but mature. It smells of plum, white flowers (mainly to my nose tuberose, but also some jasmine), a somewhat animalic leather and a spark of patchouli, with a more amber and resinous dry down. The protagonists of the composition are for me the white flowers and the leather. It is a perfume more appropriate in my opinion for cold days and somewhat formal occasions of use, with a moderate sillage and a duration on my skin of about 9-10 hours. Although it is a perfume that I enjoy, I would not buy it again because it has not completely stolen my heart. Scent 7/10 Duration 9.5/10 Sillage 7.5/10 Quality/price 5/10 Versatility 6/10 Packaging 8/10 Would I buy again? No

I don't know why but it seems that on my skin Davana is amplified a lot. To the point it causes trouble to enjoy the scent, I get the plum, some balsamic notes, orange blossom, tons of jasmine...but the davana is super loud in this scent. It gets me nausea, it's too bitter and annoying. The leather note is soft and more like suede, it helps to hold the scent and makes it more wearable. I had big hopes for this scent but is a pass for now. The Davana is a note I need to be careful around. It goes away in the very late drydown but I can't tolerate this intro. The late drydown 2-3 hours later is really nice. I need to test it again another day.

My favorite perfume for winter 2023. Great balance of the plum, leather and benzoin. It's so sophisticated. It's deep and strong but without being headache inducing. If you are escaping from someone you don't want to have this perfume on because they will find you from its silliage :P. If the silliage was stronger you would see it with your eyes and hear it with your ears. hahaha Jokes Apart. I really love this perfume. It's unique and very expensive so you don't smell it often in the streets. I feel very powerful when I wear it and my confidence boosts more than usually. The name fits the smell... "Muse"!

Xerjoff Muse- opening is too sweet like candy for me. Plum and raspberry is mainly what I smell. I do pickup a little leather in the base. I saw a reviewer say it smells like a fruit tobacco hookah and I can definitely smell that. Very strong and last 12+ hours. Definitely more feminine but I think a man could pull it off in the right setting. I've worn it as a base layered with a more masculine cologne. It's a good female perfume if sprayed light. Too much of this can smell synthetic or like a teenage girl spray. The more it dries, the better it gets. 7 out of 10
