Star Musk

I’ve spent the entire day with Star Musk, what a magnificent blend this one is, the amalgamation of extravagant semi funky musk and crystalline white flowers over sugary powder accord is literally celestial smelling, this scent is in my humble opinion a liquid portrait of what angels smell like in heaven. Sweet, warm, a little spicy Opoponax. Soft slightly powdery floral vanilla musk. Clean, elegant, classy! Last all day. I love this! All year fragrance. Clean musk, not animalic

Love love love. Has a similar sweet fruity DNA shared with Chris Maurice' other perfume Kemi Aurum. Projection is very good. Lively to wear in Summer.

It is not bad. It is ok on its own. But when it is compared to amber star it is way below of that. Initially you think it is very feminine but when you keep smelling it you start to think it is unisex. It is a creamy musky scent. First hour I find it very feminine and average. It smells exactly like a strong moisturizer. But when it dries down I get some woodiness and amber. It is not sexy, classy, fun or easy to wear. It smell a bit dated and old too. I wouldn’t buy it alone and I wouldn’t layer and spoil amber star with it. Since you have it because of amber star, you should make use of it. I use it when I am in mood of sweet dusty vintages. It reminds me of another xerjoff, casamorati 1888. This is sweeter and more floral. But performance is very good. Sillage and longevity is above average. This is a strong staff like amber star. So I am gonna rate it as 5/10.

A nice musk fragrance to have because unlike so many musk fragrances out there now it’s not just a thick powdery shroud of whiteness. Star Musk has very apparent fruit and floral notes with an extremely sweet iris in the dominant role. It’s a dessert Pavlova with clouds of white fluff studded with bits of sweet fruit crossed with a powdery floral boudoir fragrance. Star Musk works well on its own and although I might not be inclined to layer it with Amber Star (it’s mate in the boxed set from Xerjoff it is sold in) it will layer with light fruity perfumes really well- it gives them a little extra depth and longevity. Star Musk has moderate sillage and 8 hour longevity.

A fruity and floral layered musk with very sweet vanilla soaked spices and powdery like resins. The carnation comes through for me here quite strong and it is almost like a contemporary take on Chantilly by Houbigant. Much sweeter of course. This is a floral, fruity gourmand powdery spicy carnation. Very interesting, I like it quite a lot. This is my first sample from Xerjoff. I have to say this is very strong and could be a bit much if over sprayed. But it smells very pretty if applied with a cautious hand.

Star Musk is really nice! Instant like. I get a blast of sweet freshness reminiscent of a man's cologne, and it remains smooth and a bit powdery on drydown. There is nothing bitter, animalic, woody, or sharp to me. I would definitely label this masculine to unisex. I'm not sure if this is something I would wear out, as I cannot help but associate this with a very nice-smelling man. But I still appreciate its beauty. Xerjoff has another winner. "Angel meat" indeed LOL.

Great frag if you could buy it on the cheap otherwise I wouldn’t personally pay retail. Starts off super flowery (mainly rose to my nose) and as time goes on it tunes down while the musk becomes a bit more forward. The floweryness never disappears but you’d have to really focus to pinpoint it. This is extremely well blended imo and will prob last a long time with a few sprays

Leave amber star alone you impostor nivea cream! Ok and now an honest update. :) This is insanely good. I've tried it again and again cause I got the damn bundle and it is indeed very elegant and kind to the nose. Layering with this feels like the right thing to do.

Amber star is the real winner out of the pair. This is just kind of meh on me. Floral musky meh. There is something that makes it kind of sour on me or off putting. Together they are nice but for the price Amber Star is just more awesome.

A fruity floral take on musk fragrance. Sweet and slightly woody, drydown into beautiful vanilla. Smooth progression and smells very natural. A very beautiful feminine one.

Clean, floral musk with a gentle heat projecting from the spice and resins. Unisex and office safe.

Gives me Nivea cream vibe. Basic fragrance. Nice and inoffensive . Something to spray on ,when you don't know what you are in the mood for.

I got this as part of a sample set, so this review is based on that, not a full size bottle or oil. I'm just not getting it with Xerjoff. I've sampled a range now and none of them have been anything other than ordinary. Nice. Boring. Bland. Run of the mill, inoffensive, office friendly. Is it my skin? Do I have a cheap nose? The price of this is astronomical and it quite frankly is absolutely not worth it. First impression is overwhelmingly chemical-nose scouringly acidic. That dries down and after about half an hour I get a pleasant sweet vanilla which is evanescent and very rapidly 'turns' like souring milk, almost sickly. At one hour in, it becomes a light, pleasant powdery-floral. Nice, but nothing that hasn't been done many times before and many times better. There is the merest hint of a mild gentle spice and slight woodsy note and that's it. It's soft, minimal sillage and very poor longevity, about 90 minutes on me. Personally I think Xerjoff are pulling an Emperor's new clothes trick-these fragrances are marketed aggressively as high end must-haves, but honestly they aren't worth the cost.

Ah, what a captivating bouquet this fragrance possesses! It’s bold, pungent nature is like a persistent hunter, trailing your every step, refusing to release its grip. Yet, one might find this olfactory pursuit less than delightful, especially if unaccustomed to such a potent aroma. In its defence, after a considerable duration, it mellows into a scent vaguely reminiscent of pleasantness. However, I cannot, in good conscience, advocate for this fragrance as a blind purchase, particularly given its hefty price tag. There exist a myriad fragrances in the market with superior compositions, meticulously blended to perfection, rendering this particular scent unworthy of one's discerning attention.

Sour yogurt, baby oil, and musk.

An evocative floral musk offering from Xerjoff. The perfume opens with flowery notes surrounded by slight orange and amber. The heart is woody floral with notes of sandalwood, vetiver, cinnamon, patchouli, carnation and iris. The perfume settles on a strong synthetic musk base surrounded by vanilla, benzoin and opoponax resin. Theres not much novelty here but it is a pleasing well blended perfume. Feminine leaning with moderate to strong sillage and excellent longevity. Enjoy!

This comes in a set with Amber Star and goes for around $750. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a used but 90% full 50ml bottle of just this one for a very reasonable price. But I still hope to find Amber Star one day since that's the one I actually wanted... First off, the notes here are wrong. The sticker on the back of the bottle lists the notes: and Iris should be Orris and Carnation should be Cloves. Mandarin is actually Mandarin Peel and (if this part even matters the "Santalwood" is from Mysore and "Vetyver" is Haitian. (In quotes because that's how they spelled it on the bottle but that's not how I normally spell it.) Anyway, on initial spray, there's a heavy Play-Doh feeling that had me going "Really?? What???" But after about a minute a well blended sweet, powdery sandalwood-vanilla accord emerges with additional floral notes and spices. You really have to give this at least 5 minutes before you start judging because it really does take it's sweet time settling down. Benzoin and Cinnamon (especially together) are two of my favorite notes but I wish they were stronger here. I do get a sort of Panna Cotta feeling though with those two notes and vanilla + sandalwood + orris combined. It's funny because the first time I ever tasted Panna Cotta, I was like "This is what angel meat must taste like" and I see below that MrZayas81 describes this as what angels smell like and I have to agree. Not a fantasy scent, but a realistic angel skin-scent, I totally see it! I'm trying this out on a hot day in summer and I really feel like this is a fragrance that will do better in winter or fall. I would not pay full price for it, unless I was very rich, (So I do agree with mabelcruet too, there really is an Emperor's new clothes thing going on. I'd pay $80 for a brand new 50ml bottle of this tops but $750/2 = $375 is a joke! Even though I'm typing all that, I'm having difficulty typing at all because I keep pulling up my wrists to my face to sniff some more. It really does get pretty addictive! Just ignore the 1st 5 minutes and this is a great scent. Even if you never buy it, the next time you're at a niche perfume shop or major airport and are lucky to find a tester of this, definitely at least give it a try, just to have experienced it. The bottle makes it look like it should be a heavy Arabic Oud-based concoction, but in reality, it's a soft, sweet, resinous, powdery, mild non-indolic white floral skin-scent.

Ok so I have Amber star and love it, I have a decant of Star musk and it’s very nice, not as good as Amber Star tho. What I want to to is how do u wear these two together? They sold them together so I assume they’re to be layered. I tried layering them and star musk overpowered Amber star . Should I spray both at same time, or which one first. I dont know but every time I layer frags, one always kills the other 🤔🫤🤷🏻♀️

This is a very refined musk. Tons of quality and great attention to detail. First spray is very in your face. Need to let this bad boy dry down a few minutes and then the beauty is released. If you are a musk lover, then you will enjoy this for sure. This is a good one to test the musky waters as it doesn't get better than this. 9.5/10

Sadly I only like this after the drydown has been going on for hours. It's a lovely musky vanilla then. It lasted about 5 hours only on me though. It is not listed but it has some of that artificial oud that I really dislike and it takes over all the notes until the drydown.

A very warm creamy musk with a hint of vanilla. Its a very refined version of Musk Al Aroosah by Al Rehab which comes as a perfume oil which is cloudy white.

Yes I guess AMBER STAR we all are waiting for the be able to purchase without in set. Such a big mistake of xerjoff they do not sell it on its own.

Sweet, strange, playful. Difficult to describe, but if you have tried baccarat rouge 540, this is very close.
